Pros: Software is specifically designed for the childcare profession which is great! Has a lot to offer. And the technicians are always helpful and reliable when it comes to taking care of an issue or an update.

Cons: The only con that I would say I have is the fact the the immunizations are not the same in every state and the software will not allow you to update what is according to your states immunization records. So I still keep all the shot records on file for that purpose. It would be nice if the program matched the state guidelines.

Overall: I have used Childcare manager since they first came out and I love it. I wish the owner would use it for the accounts portion but I use it for staff, payroll, attendance, children's records, attendance, etc.

Pros: Easy to use, handles most center operations, support team is friendly and truly supportive!

Cons: Some small things that are specific to our school can not be accommodated:
*ability to sort Activity list by class
*ability to have parents post notes during drop off
*ability to use a blank square on the Time Clock Manager to sign child up for naptime
*ability to run class lists by schedule (M/W/F, T/TR, M-F)
*ability to add teachers to batch emails to families
*ability to add family emails to the Directory Report

Overall: I have use Childcare Manager in previous centers. When I started as the Director in my current school I quickly realized they needed to get automated. I strongly suggested using Childcare Manager for our operating system. This program has save us many hours in billing, running statements, handling waitlist information, and much more! The sales team is awesome and the support team extremely patient. I have referred Childcare Manager to other schools and will continue to do so!

Pros: Reporting, adding custom fields, good tech support

Cons: Would like more flexiblity with custom fields in reports. Reports do not export in an easily usable format to excel, you spend more time editing them to make them ready to use. Would rather they exported in column format (fields across the columns) then in the same format as the report.

Overall: I have extensive experience with accounting software but none with childcare software. This software is intuitive and has a variety of useful features and reports. Tech Support usually has a good response time and is thorough. Help feature has been useful as I learn more about the software and its functionality. I cannot speak about value, I was not involved in the purchase.

Pros: All client information is in 1 place, easy to access

Cons: i cant modify things to my needs

Overall: When we first came across Childcare Manger the reviews and everything were fantastic but when we played with the demo i was very nervous. Site can be hard to navigate, sometimes and somethings you cant modify but the program has taken 6 different spread sheets and put all of the information i need for my clients all in 1 place, attendance and invoices and receipts and payments all in 1 place is amazing. Its easy... i input payments and the program calculates and notifies me of everything i need to do. I can email or print invoices and receipts at the same time. Its such a time saver.

Recommendations to other buyers: use the demo to go back and help you play with things you want to specify before making changes in the offical program

Pros: I can easily pull up a statement for a family.

Cons: Can't use the email. So much of the "report" aspect is nothing we can use. We'd like to be able to pull up items in reports based our personal needs.

Overall: If we hadn't paid so much for this program, and the thought of inputting 100 kids in a new one blows my mind, I'd dump it today. It's OK at best. For whatever reason, I can't use the "email receipts," function and if I thought about it, I know I'd come up with other things I'd like to be able to do with it than is possible. Besides that, the customer service is awful to horrible. We actually fight about WHO will have to call if there is a problem. It's not that they don't get the job done, it is, in fact, the manner in which is is taken care of. There are, I'm sure, MANY childcare/preschools that don't employ IT people, and have to plow through issues all by themselves. It's never nice to speak to a CCM rep who has an "attitude" problem. CCM reps (always or often), instead of understanding that the person on the other end of the phone might not (NOR WANTS TO) understand the how to's, and certainly doesn't need anything more than a "I'm happy to help you" attitude coming from the company that they're PAYING to help with any and all issues that are arise. And, while I understand that what the reps do, they do ALL DAY with many stupid people, that should be no concern of ours. Good customer service is worth it's weight in gold and CCM misses that boat on a daily basis. Trust me, IF I had the money and time, I'd be looking at the MANY other companies that exist today, that weren't around back in the day.

Recommendations to other buyers: Don't ever have an issue. Don't ever have to call for help. Also, this is the FIRST survey of it's kind I've ever received in ALL the years I've had this product. This should be done yearly to make sure this company is on target with their customers. Bad customer service is just that..

Cons: Accounting software has limitations

Overall: Good- for basic use of keeping employee and family records, this software is fantastic. Same holds true for customer service. Jason was a great resource as I sent up a client and server computer for use of CCM.
Not so good- We attempted to take advantage of other elements of the CCM software, such as the check register, check writing, depositing, etc, however we found it nearly impossible to get the accounting side to agree with the family account side. Customer service, including the trainer, were not able to help us work out the kinks. We tried to get the accounting and family receivables side to both be correct for over a month, and got close, but there were a few transactions that were impossible to enter in a manner worked.
When using the software simply for employee and family information/accounts receivables, I would have given more stars, but the accounting piece is what caused me to give mid-range rating.

Pros: Easy to use and convenient for parents and staff. It seems to do a lot as far as programs go.

Cons: When there is an update to software I wish it was explained to us so I could get more use out of the program. I also wish that the immunizations were compatible to the immunizations for each state's requirements. Would like it if we were made aware of all of the features and updates.

Overall: The I/T Service is very helpful and able to take care of any problems we might encounter. If they are busy; they always get back with us as soon as possible.

Pros: I love the electronic check-in and the reports it generates.

Cons: Aligning item names with QuickBooks software so they will export properly.

Overall: I have been happy with Manager which we have been using since 1998 or 1999. I believe. In July 2015 we began using Time Manager for child and employee check in and out. We also export receivables and billing to QuickBooks via Childcare manager and began that process at the same time we began using Time Manager. Both work well for us. In the beginning I had trouble exporting items as the descriptions did not match between the two programs. I had a difficult time figuring that out. Customer support is always quick and responsive but I felt that they were also impatient with me at times. It felt like they expected me to know more about computers and the software than I did. Overall, now that we have the bugs worked out, we are happy with all facets of the software.

Comments: When dealing with the childcare manager software it has become difficult to keep the updates. We aren't updated when something new is sent which makes the software crash and unable to use. When contacting support we weren't given attention right away because of issues they had on their side. When we updated the software we were unable to combine two programs which originally we were told we could.

Pros: It is so easy to set up! Everything is done with a few clicks of a button. there is no pen and paper needed!

Cons: some of the options do not apply to our center.

Overall: We are operational on some levels...some of it is still in the works (billing). Our CCM represetative Chris Luz is amazing. Every email i have sent he has gone above and beyond to help me figure everything out! I dont know how many times i have called the tech line about how to do something and everytime i am greeted with a friendly hello and they are so willing to help no matter how stupid the question!!!

Pros: It is able to handle childcare needs from a childcare perspective and keep a lot of essential data on the children.

Cons: The lack of internal controls and security authorizations.

Overall: Our Childcare Director loves this software but I am the accountant and I have some issues with the reports in this software and the internal controls. This may not be the software's fault because the people who set up our data were not the accountants and may not have begun with accounting in mind.

However, it has not been easy to modify the current usage. And there is not a way to set authorization/security parameters for internal controls. The childcare manager can change and delete entries which is not good for controls. There is a lot of room for errors and no checks and balances to catch the errors.

Recommendations to other buyers: We do not use the checking account and accounts payable part of this software, so it stands alone as a tuition recording software that is not interactive with our accounting software. This is not Childcare Manager's fault, but that is our experience.

Pros: It is very user friendly.

Cons: The unique pin for each person. It would be nice if CCM would allow profile drops, where we could attach all children to an adult. Specify, whether they are parents or on the pickup authorization list or just for emergency. With the current system an adult will have numerous pin numbers.

Overall: Since we went live with CCM, it has greatly diminished the time it takes to do attendance. Also, keeping track of tuition is breeze.

The only issue I have is not being able to change someone's tuition without having to void it.

Cons: There are issues involving the product that has yet to be fixed. One portion of the system is not reliable.

Comments: we had a very good experience so far the childcare management system. It was easy to use and the technical support team were very helpful. The Data entry was time consuming but needed because it was very detailed. I also like the program because it allows us to clock in and out the children. Comments: My CCM has been down for an entire day after downloading the newest CCM version - I have tried to contact customer service three times today and each time I have been told I need to leave a message as a tech is not available to speak with me. When you are relying on a system for parent login documentation, teacher payroll and general payroll functions, it is frustrating and costly to a business to have the system offline.

Comments: We tried using Child Care Manager when the other program we were using expired. I wasn't happy with the features available. It was not able to produce the reports that we were accustomed to. Overall, it seemed more difficult to use.

Cons: They sale you a license to their food program software then stop allowing you to use it!

Overall: This company fraudulently sold me and many countless other daycare businesses in the St. Louis area (that I referred) their Nutritional Manager software. They one day decided to discontinue the software and denied paid users further activation access with no pre-warning whats so ever. My rep was very misleading and has lied to me several times about some form of assistance with this major problem. Please note, that the customer service has always been poor because they never answer the phone and send straight to voicemail. Most of my return call are the next day or two. It appears as if they are going out of business while they continue to sale their products. I have purchased well over $$$$ of products and services with this company only to be forced to purchase additional $$$$ plus from the Procare software company. Although Procare is just as expensive, one thing I can say about Procare is that they answer the phone when you call and when you need to speck with a sales rep they call you back the same day. I have never had such service with Childcare Manager (although I have helped this company sale countless programs) support and I don't suggest you waist your company's money with this company.

Comments: Overall I think this an outstanding product. Sadly the customer service is terrible. I have been waiting for a call back or email for about two weeks. I got an email a week ago saying I was on a list to call back. I call and try to talk to someone and are just kept on hold. I have currently been on hold for 20 minutes and not one person has answered the phone. I am baffled that I am trying to ADD services to our plan yet NOONE ANSWERS OR CALLS BACK. If it wasn't for this I would rate this program 5 stars.

Comments: The software is amazing! Teri Selbicky and Jonathan have been most helpful in getting our software set up for our school. I appreciate how quickly I get my questions answered and the help we get in navigating the system as we learn how to use childcare manager. Everyone has been so helpful and supportive. The software itself makes it extremely easy for us to keep track of all our students, employees and school data. I am very glad we purchased this software as it makes it very easy for us to keep track of everything and it's all in one place!

Comments: I have been using Childcare Manager for a little over year, I find it useful in keeping information organized; Tech Support is an essential part of the overall program, each time I need assistance I call and they solve the problems expeditiously.

Comments: We have been using CCM for several years at our preschool. The more we use it, the more tools we find useful! We cannot imagine running our preschool without it. We have about 260 students. We also have RapidTuition through CCM, and we love that too! It has made our monthly tuition collections so much easier. The cost is very low, and the ease of use is excellent! We run necessary reports from CCM quickly and efficiently, and have just started using CCM for our Waiting Lists, which have previously been done with pencil and paper.

Thank you CCM for the perfect product for our preschool!

The program is very easy to use, intuitive, extensive report capabilities.

Comments: The training and customer service has been exceptional - an essential part to our successful implementation. As a large daycare center with 200 children and numerous staff, we were able to change from our current system to Childcare Manager will moderate ease. The program allows many of our administrative staff and management to eliminate multiple databases and spreadsheets in favor of the data and reporting within the program. A number of additional staff were able to readily use the system with limited training due to its ease of use and intuitive nature. Love the Quick Views allowing you to see all pertinent information for families, children and employees in a snapshot!

Comments: We use Childcare Manager to manage our preschool, pre-k and afterschool care programs. As a school district, we needed an affordable, easy-to-use tool to manage the billing aspect for our all of the options within our programs (half-day, full-day, employee discounts, etc.). This program allows us to easily print monthly invoices at all of our different program rates and provides end of the year tax statements for our families. The service that Childcare Manager has provided us has been exceptional. Thanks Childcare Manager!

Creates a updated Facility Roster, which is required by licensing

* I could keep going, this is just a summary of the items programs I use as a preschool director. I love this program. I highly recommend it to every preschool director.

Cons.
I'm still learning about this program, so I'm not sure if it has the following:
Staff: I would like to see if I can make notes on days staff are out and then be able to print them out at the end. It would be great if it would have an end of the year staff evaluation. print out of holiday, sick days, and disciplinary notices, etc.

Comments: We have used Childcare Manager for 8 years now and have been very happy with it! I recently needed some help with some new items and Wendy was a HUGE help. Comments: I've had the software for a few months, and I am getting better at it. The ease of use is not the greatest, but he employees will be willing to help walk you through anythign
There are still some thing's the software wont do that I wish it could supply:
Adding the amount of time on screen when a family is clocking out ( the daily total, then the current week's total) I feel that would be a great convenience for families

I received amazing guidance on how to use the program from my consultant, and amazing customer service anytime I had any questions. The team really took the hassle out of learning a new program. They make it so easy for anyone to learn how to use it. Childcare Manager keeps you up-to-date on so many important things including shot records, past-due balances, and even CPR and First-aid certification for the employees. It makes the accounting easy and puts all of your information in one convenient place, which frees up more time to focus on the most important part of the childcare industry, the children!

This software covers it all!! And super easy to use!

Comments: I had training with Patrick on Tuesday, 9-8 on Rapid Tuition. Our Preschool is just starting to use it for the billing. Patrick did a great job. He was patient and answered all my questions. I have a good percent of parents that have signed up to use Rapid Tuition and at this point I'm entering the authorization forms. We plan to start the billing on 10-01-2015. I told Patrick that he might be getting a call then and he said he would be there for us. Nice to know.

It's user friendly! Easy to maneuver through module s and I spend less time doing computer work!

Comments: I reviewed each of the "main players" in the childcare management space and found that they all had their merits and drawbacks. But I was most impressed with Childcare Manager as they were the most friendly on the phone, their price was right and they offered everything I needed to properly operate my center. I have been using Childcare Manager for over a year now and have never experienced a bad interaction with anyone at Childcare Manager. I think the other vendors could learn something from them!

Comments: I have been with another company for years and they made a product upgrade that completely changed the scope and feel of their product. Wendy, from Childcare Manager, called regularly checking in to see if I was ready for a change. I admired her persistence and apparent desire to help me be more effective. Once installed she stayed in communication a couple more times and then disappeared. She doesn't return my phone or emails. The product is bulky and hard to navigate. It is not user friendly such that they offer trainings to learn how to use their product. The problem is that you can never talk to anyone directly - you have to wait for them to call you back - which to date has not happen. They are about the money and once they have emptied your wallet, they are on to the next sucker.

I'm sorry you had an initial bad experience. We've been in business for 30 years and strive to maintain the best possible relationship with our customers. We offer one-on-one scheduled telephone trainings to our customers to help them get up to speed as quickly as possible. Schools that have staff turnover, benefit from these trainings greatly, when new employees come on board, we train them for free! Our product support is provided on a callback basis to give our customers the best support possible. When a case is created, detailed notes are entered about a particular problem, when a support engineer calls back they already know the problem and typically have an answer/solution ready! We also use Bomgar to support our customers. This means a support engineer can connect to your computer securely and fix the issue or problem for you. Many times you don't even have to be on the phone for them to help you.

Comments: I have used this software for 14 years and am going to take the time to find something better.

Pros-
* LOTS of additional modules to meet most any need.
* Customer service assistants are long term employees and very knowledgable.
* Yearly updates and improvements have been positive for the most part.
* Annual maintenance fee has stayed consistent.

Cons-
TIME ZAPS
When adding new families;
* The first RELATION options are not 'mother' and 'father'; one must scroll down past 'mother-in-law' to choose mother and 'father/step father', 'friend' and 'father in law' before getting to 'father'.
* So MANY report options and no explanation to explain the differences
*Difficulty in locating children or families when their last names differ. All last names can be typed into Family 'Display Name' but the only way to locate the correct family is by typing in the correct first name listed.
DEAL BREAKER
* Purchased Nutrition Manager, the separate food program module, several years ago to increase efficiency and lost the benefit of efficiency when they chose to REMOVE the integration feature between CCM and NM a couple of years later. Now all additions and changes must be made twice.
My input, complaints and pleas for this to be fixed has been ignored.

(We can help you rearrange your list if it's not in your preferred order.) Reports are broken down into 12 major categories with individual reports under each category. Each report has a detailed description that displays when selected, and shows what filters, customizations, and sorting options are applicable. Searching for children with different last names in Childcare Manager is very easy. Simply select the Child Center and enter the child's last name.

Comments: Decent product but almost every module cost extra. You pay up front for the program, then you have yearly maintenance fees in order to speak with customer support which when you call....will always have to call you back. You will not get an answer for your pressing situation the moment you call so be prepared to wait for a call back. The reports generation part is confusing and not helpful at all.
It's all about revenue generation with this company. I am looking for a better option after being with this program for 5 years.
