Pros

You can access it online. Decently priced.

Cons

No mobile app. The online version is great, except for half the time it is not compatible with a mac. There are certain printers that I can't print to. Doesn't work with a labeler. This week, I tried printing a report, and I had an error that said "can not print object". I called support, and they don't have a solution except to use a Windows computer.... Well, that really isn't an option for me. If all of the features worked that they say they have... it would be a pretty decent software.

Overall

I would recommend to someone ONLY if they are using Windows computers, and if they aren't dealing with a large congregation. Also, I don't recommend this software if you need to access your database from several different locations or from your mobile device.

While we respect the reviewer's opinions, we believe this review is a bit misleading. We have many Church Helpmate Online customers very successfully accessing utilizing the product from Mac computers.
We have been working with this customer to get this printing issue resolved as quickly as possible. Unfortunately their printer is a specialized printer that includes password protection before it accepts a print job....which is currently preventing our product from successfully sending print jobs to the printer. We have provided a work-around to the issue (which was not to switch to a Windows computer) that involves just one extra step of saving the report as a PDF - and then printing - which works perfectly fine.
As far as accessing Church Helpmate Online (CHO) from mobile devices (such smart phones, iPads, etc.), we expect to add this capability at some point in 2012.
Finally, accessing CHO from multiple remote locations is simple and easy - and really the main advantage of CHO.

Pros

Easy to use and feature rich for handling people data (phone lists, birthdays, etc), and creating year-end receipts for tax purposes.
Able to create specialized contact lists and conduct email campaigns directly to that group.
Unlimited users.
Exceptional support!!

Cons

Cannot do receipts for non-tax receipt items.

Pros

This software has saved our treasurer more time and effort that we can calculate. It's allowed her to spend more time on our worldwide ministry. What a blessing!! Even though we only use a small portion of the product (contribution tracking), there is so much more available.

Cons

There is nothing in this software package that I would list as a con.

Highly recommended.

Pros

Church Heplmate have help us to have both our members and non-members in one location, It also help us easly get incontact with the broader community members who visit our church on a regullar basis and we can call them to wish them a happy birthday when that time comes,

Ease of use, fabulous e-support, Instant update to related fields, organized features, uploads to Outlook, reports, phone directory, ability to modify to meet our needs, better use of time, flexible program features, reliable output, easy to populate fields, drop down features, contributions, reports and groups can be updated easily. data transfer options, and accuracy of programs. This program is a time saver and enables any group to have immediate access to all their records, contacts, and pertinent data.

Cons

My only negative comment is the inability to transfer the data from households to contacts. It would be great if each input had a box to select that would automatically transfer that information.

Overall

Extremely satisfied with HelpMate. After the review of several other programs, we found HelpMate to be superior in outcfome and cost.

Pros

We tried a number of church management software packages and this was he best. We have been using it for 4 plus years and the software has met all our needs.
The customer support has been great, they get back to you in a timely manner and treat you like an actual person!

Cons

Doesn't work on MAC, but they are working a solution for that.

Overall

I would recommend this software to any church of any size

*The ease with which information can be both entered and accessed.
*The information that we put into the program, we can get out in great, easily customizable reports.
*We have had very few technical support issues, but the ones that we have had (mostly regarding how to do something rather than function of the program) have been answered quickly and effectively. I know that I can e-mail Helpmate and have a response within an hour or two. If it is an issue that needs faster attention, my phone calls are answered promptly or returned if necessary.
*I like the personal attention that we get from all of the staff at Helpmate.
*It is straightforward and does the tasks that we need it to do.
*The multiple tasks of the single program (contributions, groups, attendance, etc.) makes our lives so much easier because we arent having to move between programs.

Overall, we have been very satisfied and cant find anything to complain about.

Overall

After two very poor results with other church database programs we decided to make a switch at the end of 2004. I tried out at least 3 other programs and looked at a couple more, but the easiest by far to navigate through was Church Helpmate. I called Helpmate a couple of different times with specific questions about the program and they were very helpful and explained how to do whatever it was I was trying to do. As a result, we decided to go with Church Helpmate, and we have not regretted it since.

The conversion of our old data was done quickly and we were able to jump in with both feet. In the fall of 2005, we beta tested 2006 version of Church Helpmate and found that most of the features that we had suggested be included in the new version had been included.

We have beta tested each subsequent version of Church Helpmate and are now running CH 2010 and each time we are impressed with the improvements that are made.

Pros

We've been using Church Helpmate since the 2006 version came out. After reviewing several similar products we decided this program had great functionality and was available at a great price. We have since upgraded with each new version. We love the product, it serves our growing church very well. All our team leaders use the database and we interface with our accounting program as well. We love that the developers have the church at heart, which they show by making the product license available for unlimited multi-users per church site. Synchronization is simple for multiple users keeping info up to date with ease. I would highly recommend the product for any size church!

Cons

I wish online synchronization were available. We have multiple users at the church site and pastors/leaders also use the program at home. Right now you must synch files with a central computer at the church. It would be more convenient to synch to a central file online.

Overall

Very user friendly, cost effective, and invaluable tool for our church. I highly recommend Church Helpmate!
