Comments: This software exceeded my expectations in ways I didn't even know to expect!!! I shopped different ChMS for months to find the right solution; I demo'd 6 of the top suggested solutions that looked beautiful and seemed to be just what we wanted...but REALLY WEREN'T. We needed a reasonable price (preferably a one-time fee), ease of use, GREAT financial reporting & input for individual Giving and Pledge tracking, room to grow in both membership size and functionality (including Online Giving), and a bonus would be great membership tracking. I was able to import a complete spreadsheet of all my membership information with their Import Tool. The software remembers Giving transactions and enters the information in the blanks for you to approve, prints out batch statements for each Sunday in with whatever level of information you want AND makes it easy to fix errors or adjust for new account designations. It fills in cities by zip code, manages mailing areas to coordinate mail merges, and tracks ages and grades. Attendance is a breeze and can be recorded by over-all numbers as well as individual names. I'm very pleased to have made the choice to go with Servant Keeper.

Comments: Servant Keeper is very easy to use and doesn't require too much previous experience using similar programs. I do wish there were more reports to choose from and the process for recording debit/credit card contributions is a little long process to me. But all in all I'm glad I went with Servant Keeper.

Comments: Servant Keeper is an absolute diamond amongst the other church managent software tools on the market. We were using a very dated method of tracking finances and membership and while it worked we knew there was a better way to serve God's people. I came across SK and what has impressed me the most is how user friendly it is. Whether it's church management or church finances this is a great tool for member care, financial reporting and any ministry looking to serve God's people with excellence. This is a great product and I highly recommend any ministry to download the trial version and see for yourself, you won't be disappointed.
The only thing I would like to see change is having to pay for the tech support. Other than that I have no complaints about SK at all. I highly recommend it.

Comments: Our church was forced to change software when our previous vendor stopped supporting our software. As a small church our needs are fairly simple - membership management and giving records. As non-tech types we are really pleased that the software has been very intuitive to learn. I have discovered that my time entering giving records has been reduced by half because the software is streamlined and requires many fewer keystrokes to enter data. I was also very happy with the white glove help in migrating our date from our old system to SK. We have not explored all the available features with SK, but I am confident they will be as user friendly as the features we are using nos.

Comments: I believe Servant Keeper is the BEST and most user friendly membership system on the market. I have had the opportunity using many software programs one of which being the "most expensive" to purchase and very costly support. None of them compare with Servant Keeper. The cost is very affordable, even for the smallest congregation, and the support team is excellent. I very rarely need to contact the CS dept., and when I do, all the techs are qualified to walk through the problem and fix it almost immediately. We have had Servant Keeper at least 8 yrs. THANK YOU SERVANT KEEPER STAFF!! JOB WELL DONE!!

Comments: The entire process of inquiry, ordering, installing and support has been very pleasant. Bernadette has always been very patient and helpful, taking the time to answer questions and mention additional feature we weren't aware of. We share the administration between two people and can usually find ways to share new information by way of videos, emails, etc. I have also attended a webinar that was very helpful. We are now looking forward to making use of the Cloud, which we hope will make SK as current and useful as possible, plus are looking into adding more layers of information on our members, such as talents and interests.

Comments: Thanks to Bernadette Reynolds that has been in contact with me for months as my church went through a split and changes to Board Memebers which left us without an accountant, she stayed with me periodically through emails. It took months to finally purchase SK 7. I've been using SK5 from decades ago and had to learn it on my own without the guide books or the initial training from prior bookkeeper, God just has done miracles! I not only was able to purchase today and didn't have a hard time downloading the program, but the help number is there and I did order the guidebooks to use as a reference. Bernadette made sure my levels of anxiety to do all this being non-user friendly, it was so easy to do! References, a help sheet, AND the direct line to the HelpDesk, this company is complete. Kudos and blessings to SK in making this product to do daily accounting, managing a directory, and the beloved 1099s each year.

Comments: The modules is what we needed to bring our data into one program. The cost is where it was not going to work for us. We track many individuals that would exceed 50 families ($250 US) and the next step-up is not in our financial range. Trying to transfer information from one data program to Servant Keeper has its limitations. I was not able to transfer family information from a program we now use but it did work with the donations.
If you can afford this program then I would recommend it. Remember that if you have 51 families then you need to move on up to the only other price - over $500 US.

Comments: We switched to Servant Keeper at the beginning of 2016. The import of our data went well, although took a few tries. Overall, importing was easier than other products I have used. We found the integration with Quickbooks doesn't work as we were led to believe and since we import to a great many different income lines, we have chosen to import contributions manually into Quickbooks. Its just easier. The main complaint I have is the customer service hold music. Servant Keeper generally has long hold times-around 10-15 minutes or more- and you'll be pulling your hair out by the end after listening to that hold music, its that awful.

My only other complaint is the lack of customization on the main, first page. Coming from a database background, I'd love to see the ability to add fields on the main, first page, as well as design a unique page that is completely customized to our needs. Would also like to customize some of the stock reports. For instance, use preferred names when printing a birthday list, instead of the more formal first name.

All in all, its a great product that is easy to learn and intuitive to get around. Our non-technical staff can use it easily, although they are hesitant to make changes. I think this would be true no matter what product we were using.

Servant Keeper 7 is outstanding. The Cloud is wonderful.

Comments: I have used Servant Keeper for the past 1 year. It is well designed and setup to be very user friendly. Entries are easy, speedy and editable at one glance. The completed session gives sum total to match your tally sheets. Printing the IRS statements was a click of the button. Servant Keeper offers online courses and the year-end session was very good with the opportunity to repeatedly view it. For the past 7 years, I used Membership+ which was less well organized and cumbersome.
I highly recommend Servant Keepers.

Comments: It's great to not have to back-up my data each time I use it. However, I find that I cannot use it in the evening, especially after 8:30 p.m. as the server is not available. I do a lot of work at home and really would like to beable to do it on my time. I do hope this issue can get resolved. Other than that, I really like the program. Great software!

Comments: Sk is much easier to use then our old system Power Church. We are very happy with it. We also got SK Check in. I had some issues getting it set up at first. My current scanners did not work. My rep was able to sent me a scanner to test. It worked great after that. The cost of the new scanners is still cheaper then paying for Lambslist every year.

Comments: I am the Pastor at Charlton Chapel, just up the road from SK Headquarters. Recently, it was necessary to change computers. Something I was trying to delay until after the new year because of all the work I had done that was saved in SK and other non related files pertaining to donations and expenses. I had two back ups for this work...one in late Sept on a CD and one done in the first week of December that was on my flash drive. Our IT attempt at the church lost the December backup off the flash drive, but there seemed to be 223 KB data base on Version 6, where as we had installed Version 7. Sarah was very helpful in locating hidden files that we would not have found ourselves and will be sending our data in an email for Version 7. She also made me a short cut for my desktop.

If you have any problems when installing the upgrade from Version 6 to Version 7, I recommend you call Sarah at the help desk.

Comments: I erred in my response the first time if anything I said or clicked on would have indicated that I view SK as anything but a first-class 5 star company. Please delete the original survey from this user. I don't believe that a slow or non-response to two email inquiries are reasons to downgrade the company. The software is outstanding, and Jenny and Toddi, the main users at this time, are extremely happy with it.

Now if you will just make sure that the support team at the other end of the phone and email respond within the day the contact is made you will be top-notch in all the ways that makes a difference to your customers.

Comments: One of the first tasks given to me as the new Administrator was to look into getting a church management software. Previous methods used were spreadsheets, aging difficult databases and a contribution software that wasn't even compatible with Windows 7! After much research and cost comparison I quickly discovered that Servant Keeper was the perfect software for this church. We were lucky to work with a good salesman (Thanks Jon!) who was willing to create a package that fit our needs specifically. As an office that works with several volunteers with differing computer comprehension it was essential to have a good method for training. The online courses were specific and offered enough information for everyone to understand the basics of the program. Any other question could be answered within a phone call. Honestly it was a Capterra review that turned me onto this software and it definitely paid off to take a look. The purchase of this software brought organization and security to this church office, and it did so at a very very reasonable price.

Comments: We switched to Servant Keeper software two years ago and it has been absolutely wonderful. Our previous program was just not user friendly which is the opposite of Servant Keeper! There are just a few things I would "tweak" because overall Servant Keeper provides all the access to information I need on a daily basis. When the staff or other church members need certain data or information I can usually provide within minutes now! I have attended two of your seminars and they were also very helpful. So, I do not hesitate to recommend Servant Keeper to other churches seeking recommendations about church software options.

Comments: In all fairness, I am still exploring the use of SK. Just upgraded from SK6 to SK7 and changed to a new PC (from a Mac running as a PC with VM Ware) at the same time.. Getting to know and use it more and more. One thing that I will say, their customer service department deserves an A++ rating. They not only fixed an existing problem but patiently and professionally walked me through the backup/data transfer/upgrade process which was not complicated. All went smoothly.

Comments: When I came to this church two years ago I had never used Servant Keeper. Without any training from anyone I was able to figure out how to use the program. Comments: My customer service rep gave me a quick fix to the slowness that I was experiencing.
Since our upgrade to version 7, we lost the history of what we have done in each person's profile.
I really wish that certain fields would auto-fill (like spouse's email addresses) or marking a spouse as widowed when the other one is marked deceased and updating the mailing address for a recently widowed person.

Loved the fact we were able to get it up and going by ourselves.

Comments: I had tried to import an Excel document numerous times but kept getting error codes (multiple different error codes!). I called customer support and spoke with Kelly. I truly could not have asked for any better customer service. She logged into our system and helped me fix all of my error messages. She knew exactly what needed to be corrected so that the import would be accepted by Servant Keeper. We just installed the membership software on Tuesday and tried and tried to get the contribution part installed but failed due to the error messages. I don't like to call most customer support centers because so many don't seem to truly want to help. From the beginning, Kelly did everything she could to fix our problem and after fixing all of the issues I was having, we finally have our new SK contribution software installed. Your customer service is impeccable and Kelly was great! Thank you SK and thank you to Kelly!

Comments: PROS: I use it for membership, SS attendance, and contributions. The groupskeeper module is very handy as well.
CONS: I wish the report function could be more user editable within the software. However there is a function to SAVEAS and export to .txt or spreadsheet. Then I'm able to manipulate reports from there. Also, in version 6 I had the capability to do a range selection when posting attendance. Version 7 does not allow me to do that so I have to individually select persons or click EVERYONE then unselect persons not attending.

Our upgrade to 7.0 along with a new PC and Windows 10 was easy except for a minor issue with the store's tech support person transferring files and not upgrading our Servant Keeper 6 file first. A quick call to the Help Desk provided the solution to convert the file.

The only con I have is, the invite on the "online directory" only goes to one email. Comments: I have been using Servant Keeper Contribution for 10 months now. I like the ability to customize the entry screen. I most appreciate it when I start entering a new donation the full name and address pops up to confirm I have the correct donor. I can even correct the address if the donor has moved, or enter a missing phone number.
The ability to correct entries in posted batches has saved me a couple of times too. If I have a simple question I ask Bernadette who has been extremely kind and knowledgeable.

It is a very user friendly data base which is very easy to follow. The books that come with it are very clear and concise and the Help Desk is very friendly and knowledgeable.
I have found that I have not had to call on them very often, but when I have the problems have been cleared up in very short order. I would recommend having the Help Desk Service for the first year until you are comfortable with the program.

About a month ago I discovered a simple problem but hesitated to call the Help Desk to try to get it corrected because of bad experiences in the past when I had to call the other software company. However, today I called SK and was on the phone for almost 50 minutes talking with Brandi. She was GREAT!!! So patient and polite!!! And the problem was solved! Yay!

Comments: SK is a very complex software, but the more I use it, the better and faster I've become. I do like the wide variety of reports and stats I can use SK to generate. I also like to be able to print labels.

A problem developed with Windows 7 and SK6, and your help desk people Sarah and especially Kelly were patient with me and most importantly, figured out the glitch. Kelly kept at it until my data was back where it belonged. Thank you, Kelly!

Cons - When setting up my spreadsheet to Import our information into SK, I had to change what our old system titled "Child" to how SK was set up to "Son or Daughter". It would have been easier to be able to manipulate SK side of the set up to child if that is what would be faster.

Comments: Pros: It is very effective for basic recordkeeping but also allows for a lot of customization. Then, it includes a variety of useful ways to use the info you've gathered with reports & groups. Also like that it integrates into MS Word.
Cons: Unable to access program offline. We have connectivity problems in our building so sometimes I can't wirelessly access our data server (locked in treasurers office) which means Servant Keeper just doesn't exist for us in those moments. It would be nicer if I could atleast use the program to set up reports or design publications so that I can make progress on jobs then go back and fill in data when we can connect again.

Lost connection to your server may resolved a couple ways. 1. you might want to install a more powerful wireless router if you're going through cement block walls 2. you may consider getting ServantPC Cloud so that all you will need is an internet connection, and then your connection to your server (which is probably behind thick walls) becomes unnecessary. Comments: To start, it's a great piece of database software. The costs are a one time product license and if necessary, a database import tool; a monthly cost for cloud access. I have a small church of about 150 members in which we had used an online database product with many bells and whistles that the church simply did not need. The demo was a good tool to send to the church leadership, especially the member chair and the administrative assistant. They are at the standard user level and had no problem working through the menus, and the church leadership actually selected this particular database because of it's ease of use.
The data import tool worked well, I had to export the online data into csv sheets, and to make it easy I imported into my sandbox at home, fixed the header titles to match the new field names, and the most tedious task was to change the record index numbers to match the new ones. Once all my data was straight, I imported it all to the cloud. The church administrative assistant and the membership chair had no problem at all with the contributions, giving statements, inputting data, and reports. There are plenty of user defined fields to track unique items like Emmaus, Safe Sanctuaries, etc.
The only cons I can think of was there is not import built in, you must get the tool, and matching records can be a bit tedious.

Overall, it's great, there's more modules that are available, but for now my church only needed the basics.

Comments: I started working at our church a few months ago. They were using a previous program, and it seemed super involved and not use friendly whatsoever. As a newbie, I wanted to be able to dive right in, but also have accurate records.

We have been using this program for a couple weeks, and I think it's a great product for keeping records. I haven't had the chance to use it for contributions quite yet, but I imagine when I start plugging those in, it will be just as easy.

Comments: We had been using servant keep for years and just switched to the Cloud version to be able to look up information from anywhere, and on phones. It is nice that we don't have to update everyone's database every week, but it is not truly a cloud. You still have to have the software installed on your computer (we pay for 10 licenses), and then you can also have the app on as many phones or tablets as you wish. The app does not easily give information and does not have enough visible. Our pastors need to find the names/ages of children and spouses, possibly jobs or other notes and cannot do that. The entire system (app and computer) is slow and difficult to use. We have given up on updating many parts of your database because the software is so frustrating.

Comments: Pros-Everything in one place. I had many different spreadsheets, now just one database. Can lookup information quickly and run a myriad of reports. Love the mailing label capability. They thought of everything.

Cons-We are using V.6 and while the SK Help Desk is excellent, no one has been able to solve my email problem. We cannot email tax statements from SK, which was one of the main reasons we bought it.

Regarding your email issue, there are a few internet service providers (ISP) that do not allow any third party programs to send emails using email accounts from that ISP. If your ISP is one of these, then you can create a free email account using gmail or something similar and use it as your "sending" email in Servant Keeper when you send statements. If you need more information or if this doesn't make sense please contact us. Thanks!

Comments: I recently requested help fixing a bug in Servant Keeper. Customer support fixed the bug in the next release, however it was not retroactive. I contacted the Servant Keeper Help Desk and they quickly responded with a positive outcome. They assured me that they would make sure to fix whatever data was not corrected with their release. The Servant Keeper Help Desk fixed our issues quickly and accurately. I couldn't be more pleased and find their customer support to be superior.

This is a great program with good features and options to expand your information base.

Comments: I am a MAC user, so my experience will be somewhat different from most. Downloading onto the MAC was not so easy, I had to have Tech Support help me. The SK Guidebook I ordered was written for Windows. For the most part, that does not matter since I am using the cloud service. However if you are going use the software on your local machine, I suggest you take out a tech support contract so you can contact them as needed.

I am a fairly experienced computer user and I understand databases and how they work. I have been able to to figure out what I need from the materials and just experimenting with the program.

I am giving the software 5 stars, because of its versatility and customization options. I think is it fairly easy to use, although others may find it challenging - I think there is room for improvement (4 stars there). Customer service is excellent - both the sales staff and customer support are great (5 stars).

I enthusiastically and without qualification recommend SK 7.

Comments: After working with the demo a few weeks and after several phone calls to Sales Rep Bernadette Reynolds, we purchased a 3 seat Starter Bundle with SK Hosting 3 weeks ago. Later, we bought an additional set of manuals and ClipBook for SK. Total investment to date is about $1200 for our 200 family, 400 individual congregation. While less expensive choices are available, I think this is about the minimum setup and cost for a church our size. The Import Tool is a must for porting member data. I wish I had taken more time organizing member talents and interests as it¿s time consuming to add this info after import. There¿s no mechanism to change fields on a group of members by importing a batch file; it must be done manually inside SK. Help from the Menu Bar doesn¿t work if you¿re using the current version of Adobe AIR (17.0.0.172 but it does work with older versions). If SK is open and it loses focus or your computer goes to sleep for a while, SK thinks the internet connection has been lost. I¿ve had to either shut down SK with Task Manager and/or reboot to get things back to normal. While I focus on getting everything set up, several others are working through the very useful online tutorials and videos. User Manuals are very, very good as is the Help Desk. While there are some idiosyncrasies and a few things I¿d do differently, it¿s clear a great deal of thought has gone into the design of this software and how it will be used. While I found SK intuitive and easy to use (I worked in the CAE field for 40 years), it remains to be seen how easy our ¿unsophisticated¿ users will adapt to it. It is a very powerful piece of software that should meet your needs whether you¿re a church of 20 or 2000 families.

Comments: We have been using Servant Keeper Membership for 12 years and added the contribution module 4 years ago. We find the program very user friendly; basic membership data is simple and creating reports is easy as well. We have opted to purchase support for the last few years and find it to be worth the cost. The technicians know the program well and are very adept at helping us navigate through the steps needed to create reports, set up specific accounts, etc.. they are also very courteous and patient.

Comments: We used Excel spreadsheets for everything at our church for years and years. Servant Keeper is a great way to keep all your info in one database. Comments: As an IT Services professional for over three decades, I am engaged daily, sometimes for hours on end, with software products, services, and helpdesks around the world.

Over the years, I have observed great software looses its greatness if the helpdesk and support team do not provide the same level of great support.

Sometimes made bearable with a good helpdesk and support. Tolerable with live, call-in, voice support instead of chat and email support. Quite serviceable if the helpdesk knows the software inside out.

Equally important is, if the helpdesk clearly understands the short-term and long-term purpose and goals of why the software was developed. A combination darn hard to find today.

To be really great software, the helpdesk must be equally great. That is not done by the helpdesk following a Script of (many times) unrelated checkpoints and disjointed steps.

I am not the "end-user" of SK. For my clients, my task as a contract IT professional, is to install, and locally support SK through all phases of it lifecycle. Of course, the client also has the ability to call SK directly. On the more technical, cumbersome or time consuming challenges, I am typically asked to do the "heavy-lifting" with the SK helpdesk.

Over the past 6 years, with every single instance, I have experienced a very high quality level of support. Some of the very best service have experienced, and I deal continually with a lot of helpdesks around the world.

How I rate SK (01, lowest to 10, highest points)

Oh, did I miss mentioning the software. Absolutely, 9.999 Points. (Of course it's not perfect)

I have SK installations in a very large congregation (1000+) and in smaller congregations (under 250). All of my users have found SK and the Helpdesk Subscription extremely Cost Effective.

ROI on all of this? In this case, Eternal - Priceless.

Comments: I agree with Julie. We have used SK since it's inception in the Windows market. It is really a great product. With version 6 one can still use workstations for the cost of the initial program to access the SK database on the main computer/server. That's a real plus. However, with version 7, you now have to spend $50 per computer. If you want your pastors, children's director, youth ministry to be able to access the data base, you're going to have to shell out some bucks. Also, eventhough we have been using this program for a long time, there are situations where we need some assistance. In the old days it was easy; just call and give them your user number and voila - help. Now you pay for it. If you want to access the knowledge base, you can attempt that, but it's not always easy to navigate. It's still a really great product and I recommend it. I would pay a little more for the product and the upgrade if I could still use the workstations for free and also get help that didn't cost so much.

Comments: I have found this program to be deceiving. It is easy to use until you come upon a question. Most of my questions, I haven't been able to find the answer in the help book. When you call for help, they only want to charge you first, then answer your question. It's all about the money with these people. Not any help after you buy the product, unless you can afford to pay more for the help. So if you have trouble with computers, this may not be for you. Need to find one that has a good help desk.

Comments: I researched for two years looking for a overall program for contributions, child safety, and membership management. While there are many good programs out there, I had trouble finding one program to do it all and be used in Canada. I finally choose Servant Keeper and have been very glad with my choice.

Servant Keeper membership, contribution and child check in are all integrated so information only needs to be add once. We purchased 3 seats and we are all able to use the program at the same time. Now any one of us can easily update or add new information about a family or member.
As a church in Canada, the contribution statements for Income Tax purposes are easy to modify so they are compatible with Canadian requirements. I have mine all done by the 8th of January this year!
Also, as a church in Canada, Protect My Ministry is a wonderful tool for requesting and receiving criminal record checks on our volunteers.

I have learned how to expand and utilize the database more every day and there are challenges, but when I call the support desk, my issues are resolved. Wow they are always friendly, polite and helpful. Including the sales representative, when we expanded to include the check in system.

Comments: Hi There. This is to send a special acknowledgement for a job well done by Brandy helping me to set up my Servant Keeper 7 in the cloud. I had completed the process properly, but I did not have the correct seat registration code and when I emailed to get it, Servant Keeper did not recognize mey email, though when I signed up via telephone to get my upgrade I asked the customer service rep to change all contact for Trinity Presbyterian Church to my email address. I understand that sometimes things do not happen timely, but it had been a few weeks so I was a bit annoyed that this had nto happened. Comments: Servant Keeper is an outstanding tool for any church, whether 300 to 2000 membership. At first, getting use of the system, for a non technical person was a little hard. But once you learn and that including learning as you go, I could not ask for a better system to work with. The Customer Service department is a great group of people. They are never impatient, always courteous and I have never talk to anyone of them who felt like they did not want to be bother. Comments: I am a pastor of a 1,600 member congregation. We recently looked into several church database softwares such as Power Church, Shepherd's Staff, Community Church Builder (CCB), etc... Compared to Servant Keeper 7 (SK7), they all come-up short.

What makes SK7 stand-out from the crowd are a handful of important strengths: first, the software is much more intuitive than its competitors. This means that your staff will have a much easier time adjusting to it. It also makes it a pleasure to use each day. Second, the database search and maintenance features are top-notch. It does take some time to learn the software's ins-and-outs, but once you do, it's great! Third, the group management component of this software is wonderful. It saves me a lot of time to have the program determine who should be in what group based on characteristics I list in a person's individual profile. Fourth, the customer service is excellent. They made the transition from our old software to this one a breeze, and they have helped us with several minor issues after the big transition.

I really cannot recommend this software highly enough. I close with one last important comment: compared to other competitor softwares, SK7 was the cheapest option! There is an initial cost, but if you calculate the cost long-term, you will find it quite affordable.

The desktop and server installation are pretty straight forward, but when I ran into problems the phone support was excellent as usual. Comments: I am an associate pastor at a large church. I was asked earlier this year to conduct a thorough review of several church database softwares and select which one was of the highest quality to replace our old, non-functional software. After looking at all options on the market, I found SK7 to be the best of the bunch.

It's design, ease-of-use, powerful search tools, easy-to-use report generating capabilities, group management features, and price all made it stand-out from the rest! I also would stress that the customer service both during the purchasing process and installing it throughout our church was of excellent quality.

Comments: I have been treasurer for a small church for many years and have tried to keep the records in Quicken. While it is easy enough to keep track of the money that way, it is difficult to translate the accounting records into contribution letters at the end of the year. Also, notices to select groups of the membership or visitors is more difficult without the use of the Servant Keeper program. I don't know everything this program will do for me, but this is my first year using the program. I am encouraged that I will get more proficient as I have more exposure to the different aspects of this wonderful program.

Comments: We have ministry that is based in 2 countries and works with a variety of donors and volunteers. We needed something flexible and ministry friendly as much as it was user-friendly. Servant Keeper fit perfectly. We have used other software to track members and donors in the past but often found it too general for ministry purposes.

Firstly, the things we appreciated most was the customer service. They were honest with what the software could and could not do. And the thing we appreciate most was that it was easy to navigate , add donors, place them into families or categories, schedule reminders, and all the other things needed to make it easy to work with those who work with you.

Secondly, there are a few cons, but nothing that was deal-breaking. For one, the three-part structure (Admin, Membership, and Contribution) was a bit unusual at first. but once I started using it, it actually became somewhat intuitive. The appearance of the software could also look a bit more "modern" or inspiring as well, but hey, it works!

We enjoy the flexibility and usability of Servant Keeper. Just knowing it is simple and can do the job easily inspires us to make the most of it. It continues to simplify our operations.

Comments: I was introduced to SK seven years ago and have kept current with their updates and now, the new version 7. The program is easy to learn and both pastors and I have found it useful as a directory, a picture directory, and to gather data for reports. The church keeps attendance data for worship, Sunday School, and Vacation Bible School making it easy to run labels and construct "Mail Merged" letters. I also use the contribution module and have found that to be user-friendly as well. It works so well for me, the pastors, and this church, that 3 other churches have purchased it based on our experiences and recommendation. BTW The help desk is excellent!

This software lets you easily manage your membership data, as well as attendance records, visitors etc. The contribution manager painlessly exports to QB simplifying things for your bookkeeper. Comments: I reviewed several software programs before choosing Servant Keeper. I wanted something that wouldn't be outdated before I entered all the data. I found that navigating the system is easy. Creating reports or sending emails are just a few clicks away. There is so much more I want to do, but it's finding the time to personalize the individual record that's hard. Once that's done I can remind our volunteers that their "turn" is coming up, or send out news flashes that our Easter play is coming up, and so much more. I am excited about all the opportunities I have in using this program. I am so happy with the product. I also started using Protect My Ministry for background checks. I couldn't believe how simple it was to do. A definite plus to the system! I must mention the person who I talked to many many times while investigating the system. She was so friendly each time I called or emailed. She answered all my questions and sent me emails with information that explained things further. Even after I bought Servant Keeper she has been there for me with my questions. She didn't push me off to another department. It's great because I feel like she cares about her job and her customers. I would recommend this product to anyone.

Comments: I am the administrator at a United Methodist Church, for nine years. When I started here, the church used a different program which was not user friendly at all. I believe it was 2006 when we switched to Servant Keeper. Love it - we did not regret the switch. It is easy to use and quite flexible. I do not use all the feature, such as Sunday attendance, but very happy with what we do use. We have had several different Finance Secretaries since using this program. They have all learned the system very quickly.

We just updated to Servant Keeper 7, so I am not able to give a clear opinion of the upgrades. What I have seen thus far is very good. The changes are not too difficult to figure out. Upgrading into my existing system went very smoothly.

Some Cons:
When I call for assistance, I often find myself waiting for quite awhile. But once I get through, I find the staff knowledgeable, helpful, and patient. I have not tried going online for assistance - would probably work better.

When pulling out specific groups, I wish for a little more flexibility. The SK7 may give that - have not had the opportunity to check it out yet.

Comments: We have used SK6 for a number of years at our church and have been very satisfied with it. My wife is treasurer at our church and at another church where she has been frustrated by their existing, 'clunky' system. Based on her experience with SK6 at our church, she persuaded them to buy SK7. One of the most useful features for entering contributions in SK6 was the ability to scan checks which prefilled the contributors details and helped ensure correct allocation. This feature has not been retained in SK7. Instead it has been replaced by a new feature which utilizes a service with TransModus which allows checks to be scanned and deposited directly into your bank account. However, this service costs $200-$300 per month which is too expensive for smaller churches with tight budgets. It would have made a lot more sense for them to have retained the old option in SK7 in addition to the new option. I can see that the new option could be useful for bigger churches with more substantial budgets. I just cannot understand why the existing users should now be adversely impacted by having the simple check scanning functionality removed.
I spoke to a SK sales rep who seemed to be at sea about why the functionality had been removed. I also did not get the feeling the he was particularly interested in communicating our frustration up the chain of command.

Andre, First, thank you for using Servant Keeper and for recommending it to others. I'm glad it has served you so well! We have indeed brought back desktop check scanning for V7. The decision was made based on emerging technology that replaced the basic scanners. One correction is that the TransModus feature you mention is billed a few cents per check, not several hundred dollars per month. I'm sorry for the misunderstanding. The benefit of the Transmodus check scanner is that it accomplishes the remote deposit, and can scan up to 90 checks at a time. The other thing many churches requested is online giving that integrates with Servant Keeper, thus eliminating double entry. Not only do we offer that now, but we are able to provide that at a significantly less cost than the other online giving options. Donors can give by credit, debit, or check account, according to the church's preference. Please contact us if you would like to discuss further.

Cons: The software needs to be syncable. We have off-site locations where we use the same database management but are unable to sync them together. This causes us to have two systems instead of one.

Pros: The customer service both by telephone and by live chat (which I prefer) are terrific. Overall, I think the record keeping ability of the software is excellent. I use the membership module daily for information and find it easy and quick.

Cons: I sometimes can not find the answers I need in the manual, but have customer service. If the church could not afford that service, then I would find the manual problematic. I am going to purchase the 2011 revision. I do think some of the newer add on programs are a bit pricey for the average congregation.

Cons: I was fairly happy with this service until it would not allow me to enter in anymore families into the system. Says I have reached my limit when I clearly am under my limit significantly. BUT My BIGGEST complaint is that they want $50 dollars to even speak to me over the phone about this problem. I can't get any help unless I pay $50. TERRIBLE TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. I would not recommend this to ANYONE

Pros: Simple to use. Entry screens are basic and easy to follow. Entry errors are easy to correct. Easy to add new people and catagories while making entries.

Members like how detailed yet simple their giving statements are. Clear format for easy understanding. Multiple options are available for statements to customize to your needs for that moment.

Reports are easy to read in ways that are simple for councils and chairpersons to review quickly and without additional training.

History is quickly accessed and can be used to create an abundance of reports for budgets and church needs.

Webinars are informative and helpful. Don't skip them if at all possible. They open new ways of using the software.

Cons: Pledges can only be tracked per person, not by family, on critical reports. There are ways to work around this by entering the spouse with a zero pledge, but doesn't not quite correct the whole problem there. Not enough con to outweigh all the positive pros though.

Overall: Servant Keeper is a great asset to our church record keeping & daily needs of managing our congregation.

The financial portion of the program is easy to use. You won't need an accountant to make entries & run a vast array of easy to read reports. Accountants will find the complete information they need as well.

The membership manager can maintain a wealth of knowledge about members & visitors. Easy to add & maintain. Reports are simple & can be customized for your specific needs.

Overall, the screens are easy to read, progress in logical fashion & allow even users with basic computer knowledge to be successful & not overwhelmed. More experiences users can customize, optimize & utilize the software is countless ways to suit their needs.

I used to design and work with CRMs and other data bases. Servant Keeper is a great example of how it is supposed to be.
Reports and groups features are wonderful. Easy to customize and export into other programs.
The manual is great - great pics, good instructions.

Cons: the price. I wish there was a sliding scale for smaller churches. This is a minor "con." I think the program is worth every penny!

I really love the way you can choose a defined category and create reports. Ex. Teens - a report can be generated male/female, grade 7-9/10-12, by age, etc.

Cons: The capability to generate an undefined search would be quite valuable. In regard to printing out reports, I would like to be able to create a report in another form other than a read-only adobe. Sometime I want to be able to cut & paste items and this doesn't give me the freedom to do so.

Overall: We don't really use the financial portion of this program, so I cannot address it.
The portion I do use, I've come to really utilize it in a positive way. Lets just say, I've really enjoyed becoming smarter than the program and been creative in what it has to offer me to do so.

Pros: good features. great that it combines membership and contribution management in one.

Cons: import tool was poor - too constraining, didn't allow you to bring in data which you had and then had to rekey. SK writer needs upgrading to do more like utilize text boxes for easy formatting etc. Gui can use some enhancment - a bit too busy.

Overall: good tool but I find myself having to revert back to external tools like Word to do mail merge and other functions that cant be done in SK. So I am still at 1st base .... only now, I have spent hundreds of dollars to replace the data repository that i had been using for free. Not very happy about that.

Pros: I started out only using the contribution end of the program, then when our secretary left, I have had to learn the membership portion. I caught on quickly the basics and have always received excellent help with the support number we call. I loved the newsletter you began sending. We don't have time to attend a training at this point and we enjoy the tips. We really like the 15 min. youtube video and wish you would do more of those.

Cons: The program is so versatile that it is often confusing. Sometimes there are certain ways that I want to do things, but they are not possible. However, help desks usually has another way around that to get the end result.

Overall: Good Program. I would love to continue to receive the news and tips!

Pros: I don't have many programs to compare this to but the program we were using prior to this and the one I learned on made me crazy. SK has made my job much easier and faster. Tech Support is excellent. Program updates are always available and if something is not working right the department that programs always listens and makes quick fixes. Pros: We used version 5 far too long & were only using the Contributions module on a single PC when I assumed the position in August 2008. We then upgraded to version 6 & also purchased the Remote module for me at home & I began to learn the Membership module to train our office secretary at church on the Host. It made the task of pledges & contributions very simple. It takes no time at all. I can print (to hand out) or email quarterly giving statements based on the members' choice.
The secretary has learned the Membership module & has printed our first membership directory this summer with Blue Squirrel.
The best feature for us is the ability to keep everyone in one database without using spreadsheets or lists for mailings, directories, prayer chains, etc. Previously the Contributions records were updated independently of the Membership Records, which was double work & cause for errors. The profile pages have plenty of data fields for flexibility.

Cons: The church & I use Mac computers so a used PC was donated for the office & I'm using an old PC at home for Remote access.
Although we are using attendance for worship services we have not utilized many of the features yet such as Events. We have not done a picture directory either.
The Pastor has not used it although I set up a user ID for him, when desired.

Overall: I have found the customer support personnel very knowledgeable & helpful. I highly recommendation this church software.

Pros: It seems to be fairly easy to use and offers a lot of fields. I also like the contribution side of it. It's fairly easy and you can add notes when entering a contribution which comes in handy.

Cons: Setting up groups can be confusing sometimes. I wish it had a financial side to it with payroll. We currently use Quicken but it does not offer payroll anymore. It would be nice to have everything in one neat package.

Pros: This software is simple to use and offers reports that can be customized to meet the needs of the different ministries in our church. The contribution module is very easy to use and reliable. Backing it up is simple ensuring safe records when the unexpected happens.

Cons: Creating more advanced customized reports is a little difficult until you are used to the software.

Overall: I highly recommend Servant Keeper. We were so blessed to have the this software program in '07 when our church was burned in the wildfires. The backup was uploaded to my laptop and we were able to access contact information for the people from our church that had been evacuated. We called cell phones made sure people that had been evacuated had a place to stay and were were able to search by address to find people from our church whose homes had burned down so we could help them. It also allowed us to continue church business from my laptop with no lost data while the church was being rebuilt.
This software has truly been a blessing to our church.

Pros: This software is extremely user friendly. I've used it for many, many years and have trained multiple coworkers and volunteers to use it when they substitute for me. Our ministers were able to learn it quickly and utilize it often. I especially love the adaptibility of the various fields and have customized them for our use frequently. The tech support is outstanding as well. Everything I have asked for in new versions has appeared in the updates. They are very responsive to ministry needs!

Cons: I don't use this software to track our visitors because our needs for reporting are different from what they have available.

Overall: I have used Servant Keeper for at least 16 years and can't praise it enough. I have been able to produce directories, attendance reports and other reports with ease. I tell everyone that Servant Keeper makes me look good and super efficient!

Pros: It is very user friendly and more well organized in comparison to others I've tried. Help is easy to understand. The contribution page allows you to see what you're doing without having to go to different screens. Customer support exceeds my expectations. You always get to talk to a person rather than research an information database.

Cons: Typing in the words to log on repeatedly is distracting.

Overall: I have tried 3 different types of software for church management. Although they all advertised that they were user-friendly, the others were difficult to understand and demanded that you do things their way. I kept searching for something that was easier to learn and that would meet our specific needs. When I tried Servant Keeper, I recognized that this software would allow me to personalize the entry of the contributions so that anyone who would need to look at the books could understand it. The Servant Keeper experience is definitely superior to other brands I've tried.

Servant Keepers was an answered prayer.

Pros: SK help desk has been my best friend in getting our Database set up. It is shaping up quite nicely. In just a week we had people assigned to Sunday School. Soon after, I was printing attendance history, rosters for Sunday School and much more.

We are promoting a concert 10/22...SK Neighborhood arrived just in time. We looking forward to working through this with Click Books or Report Manager.

Cons: Rosters don't have the option to include "allergies" for our kids. Maybe another version/upgrade ???

Would like to edit 'teacher' on roster to "coach"

Overall: While we have only had our Servant PC database 2 months, I am excited about how far we have come in Managing God's People. This has been an exciting project and I actually look forward to coming to work...go figure!!!
