Pros: Easy to use if everything is set up correctly

Cons: The reporting function is cumbersome to navigate
I'd rather have more keyboard functionality as opposed to clicking with a mouse

Overall: We've been using Maintenance Connection since 2008 and it has helped us better our maintenance practices and tracking. Customer service is by far one of the best features MC offers. If you submit a request... you get an answer in a timely response!

We hear similar feedback from other customers about the reporting function. Reports are often copied and the reporter quickly becomes bogged down with too many reports. Pros: Ability to adapt to our maintenance needs.

Cons: Waiting for product suggestions to materialize. Would like it to completely integrate with our financial system

Overall: Maintenance Connection has given us the ability to progressively change much of our maintenance culture from reactive to preventative. It is an excellent tool that provides our teams the means to better troubleshooting and preparedness, leading directly to increased efficiency. Having the flexibility to form this product to our work flow and process is invaluable.

Pros: Ease of navigations , ability to upload prints, manuals and pictures.

Cons: Reporting is not easy

Overall: The County of Santa Barbara has been using the software for approximately 5 years. We use it for all our work orders. The navigation is good. We use it for preventive maintenance.
The software can do a lot more than we need.
The reporting is just "OK". This is the area they can improve on.
A great feature is, we store all our building blue prints in the software and we are starting to put in service manuals. This way the maintenance staff can see the prints and the manuals when he gets a work order on his smart phone.

The initial installation of the software was the fastest I have ever seen¿ just a few hours for the webservers and sql server.
Putting the data in the software takes years and we will be inputting more data every year.

The navigation tree is great,,,, like windows explorer,,, easy to move around in the software, things are easy to find.

Good software product.

Pros: Ease of use at tech level, admin level, and implementation.

Cons: not much

Overall: I have been an user for at least 10 years. I have implemented two systems. My original application in a union environment and seasoned work force was supposed to an impossible task. MC is such an easy product to use that I had zero by in issues by my work force. My second implementation was in a much smaller environment and was implemented in no time. Great product.

Pros: has the ability to gather and organize all necessary data for managing a facilities maintenance program

Cons: at first look the software does not look very user friendly and its not very intuitive as far as functions and buttons to execute different commands

Overall: I have really enjoyed gaining additional knowledge about features of MC. The conference seminars have been very useful and I cant wait to get back home and start implementing new techniques.

Pros: This software is capable of so much and can do more than I am sure I am aware of.

Cons: The learning curve can be a challenge.

Overall: I have called into MC several times for various reasons over my brief period of use. I have always found the staff more than helpful. As a company I find that MC stands behind their product, and values in a way that proves that they care, not only for the bottom line, but also for the experience of he user. The functionality of the system is so versatile that it can accomplish things for a variety of industries. I look forward to learning more about the system and it's applications going forward and applying it to our industry.

One item that I have had trouble with in the past, was as a new user, learning the systems capability. While MCU is a great tool, I have found that the videos are a bit dry and hard to stay engaged during. The supplemented examples are a great feature and I find that they are often times more helpful.

The more I learn about MC and its applications the more I would like to incorporate it into our business. Thank you for a great product.

Pros: CUstomer service is awesome, comprehensive reports, great for asset management, etc.

Cons: Not intuitive, ease of online help.

Overall: We are excited to see the full potential of this software in our environment. It was purchased over years ago and we are really just beginning to use it primarily for our vehicles at this point. We look forward to using it for our lifts and hopefully our facilities, as well. Customer service is great. I feel the MCU should be included in the annual subscription. The videos and technical help is not as helpful as calling. Videos like the ones used in Lynda.com would be more helpful. I think the checkpoint is great, but feel the sessions go too fast and should be a little more in depth. They have to move fast to stay on schedule, so maybe recording them and posting after the event or even sending to attendees afterward. Possibly even sell as a one time subscription to businesses that didn't attend??

Cons: We've had some struggles with knowing what to put into the system to make it work best. We are have had to go back and forth to get the right information in to be able to get the right information out.

Overall: Support is excellent.
Web based makes it lightweight. Though being dependent on the web also depends on the robustness of the internet. Remembering to save often helps.
I am pretty new to the application but looking forward to learning more.
One thing that would help:
When a user performs a PM and that PM cannot be complete due to an issue with the asset, the user then clicks Create Follow Up Work order. But the user has to manually go create the new followup work order. What would help would be that when that Create Follow Up work order is checked, it triggers a New Work Order window with the failed PM work order number in the Details.

Pros: My favorite thing about this sotware is that it can blend several moving componenets of our campus and allow us to integrate the work done in projects across campus with maintenance on campus, this will ease many stresses that we are faced with, including tying it into inventory and furthering our staff efficiency as well as our systems. WIN WIN!

Cons: It's always hard to get familiar with a new software, I don't know of anything I don't like yet, but we are working hard at getting familiar with it across the board for a seamless roll out to our campus.

Overall: The Maintenance COnnection Checkpoint conference has opened my eyes to the broader capabilities of the software and has allowed me to better prepare for our upcoming implementation. I am confident with the software, the capabilities, and the support to get this ou tto our campus and improving our efficiency across the board. VERY excited about the rest of the sessions and jumping into getting this on campus and replacing our antiquated TMA!!!

Pros: It appears, with my limited exposure prior to CP16, the software is much more capable than I had thought. I look forward to using the project management function, this will allow complete visibility to remote users across all of our 62 facilities.

Overall: I have been using MC for over 7 years. I have used several other CMMS over the years, including maxiomo, Mircomain, Info, Bigfoot, and TM2, but Maintenance Connection is by far the best i have used. It is very easy to setup and very user friendly.

Overall: In addition to open/closesd/ isssued/finlized etc. etc I want a work order status of In-Progress. That way my mechanics are not opening and closing work orders all the time. Time for me is money.

Overall: We have used maintenance connection for almost 4 years now and are still not using the many tools that the software has to offer. we have developed a great base of information and are continuing to use more and more tools as we step further into managing our company maintenance program.

Pros: The software once you learn it, it becomes very easy to use. My personal experience has been that if Maintenance Connection is contracted for training, the training will pay-off. M/C and I trained 65 District employees and I've only had support 3 questions, since the training classes 3 weeks ago...

Cons: The documentation module doesn't work as it should, a user should be able to cut and paste data into the program without losing the formatting of cut and paste .

Overall: My experience with working with the Maintenance Connection is been excellent, our Maintenance Crews can spend more time preforming maintenance and use less time filling out a work order.

Recommendations to other buyers: If I purchased the software, I would also the support, they do an excellent job of supporting their product.

Comments: Maintenance Connection covers everything we need at Grand Casino Mille Lacs. The reports feature is a great tool to track hours spent on a specific work along with parts used. We also use the preventative maintenance when ever possible. I would say this software is a tool that management and upper management can use in order to keep facilities running smoothly.

Pros: MC is a very powerful tool and we are using most of its functions. I am, overall, very pleased with the technical support that I have received from MC. We have been using this CMMS for 5 years and have not lost any data or had any crashes. The report function is defiantly icing in the cake. It allows me to customize reports for all levels in the company. I also use it as an aid to help track and correct documentation errors as they occur. That helps maintain the accuracy that is needed.

Cons: All software needs some sort of improvement. MC does work at continually improving their software. Some fixes take longer than others but they usually are addressed at some point. The upgrades take time and that can seem to long. I wish they could perform some quick fixes for some of the smaller problems.

Overall: I recommend this program to any company that need a flexible, versatile and highly reliable CMMS to schedule PMs, allow requesters to enter their work request and to track the complete maintenance history. With this program you can see all levels of the maintenance operation which includes, maintenance history, WO status, work history, asset history, purchasing and fall other aspects of maintenance.

Pros: The greatest feature of MC is their Reports and more specifically Smart Reports.

Other Pros includes:
MC's support is usually less than a 1 day turnaround for most issues.
MC always has a solution for our requests/customizations
Auto Assignment and Notification Rules
Consistently Improves System with version upgrades

Cons: Weak Key Module
Currently does not offer shift scheduling (they will in 6.0!)

Overall: Overall MC's CMMS is a great application and their team is always quick to respond to questions/requests. Keep up the good work MC!

Pros: Many features which allows a diverse application across different project sites regarding our company structure. User friendly, reporting is excellent

Cons: It appears that MC is suffering from growing pains as customer support has fallen off in recent months with the addition of new inexperienced help support. The support personnel prior to 6-8 months ago still provide great support. The newest additions need more training as far as MC configuration is concerned. They need to know when to escalate a problem further up the ladder vs. trying to figure it out on their own and wastefully spending the customers time. Also, some of the follow-up on support issues seems to be taking a long time. some instances are requiring us to follow-up after 2-3 weeks only to find out that the issue has fallen off the priority list.

Overall: Completely recommend MC as a CMMS software. Help support needs to come up the learning cureve more quickly and perhaps hire more people.

Pros: Maintenance Connection (MC), has definitely helped us keep track of our equipment in the field. Our maintenance records are much easier to get to and review. We are able to diagnose and stop prevent future crashes based off the history reports. We have minimzed our spreadsheet use. I myself have stop using over 15 spreadsheets. We've been able to export our reports and link to a small access database to run numbers for accounting. This normally took everyone 1-2 weeks and now MC has allowed us to cut our time back to 1 day. Our company has to deal with State Regulations for Emissions/Greenhouse Gas. We've been able to implement so many flags to make sure we stay on top of our testing, run hours and our facility emissions. MC has been very flexible on what we can add, change and customize to fit our needs.

Cons: Based on how MC was initially set up, we've had to make quit a few customizations to the program to fit our needs. We have several more projects in works now. The program is set up to do what we want, but the way our company is set up, we have to take different steps to get to that end result. In the end, it cost a little more for each customization. I would definitely like to see, in the future, an easier way to keep the overall history in an upgrade would be nice, to fit our needs better when we have Assets and Parent Locations they change often.

Overall: I will recommend MC to anyone. There's so much that you can do with this program, it amazes me that I find something new each week. We track: Asset Moves, Calculate Usage Fees for Equipment, Track Run Hours, PM Schedule, Labor Records, plus many more. We have spent more money than expected in custom work, but support has worked well with getting everything needed, minimized the cost and/or came up with better solutions. The support team, especially who I deal with on a regular basis, throwing new ideas at (Arlene, Randy and Dan), are all extremely helpful. MC tracks more than what we originally planned for, maintains a good schedule, and will soon be company wide here at EOG. Different divisions all over the US with EOG have heard so much about how it's helped the South, that I've been getting phone calls and emails asking, How does it work? What do we need to do? Do you think it will help? etc... Definitely has been well worth the money spent and has saved us a lot of money in return.

Pros: We are very satisfied and have had a incredible turnaround in the processing of preventative maintenance and daily work request. We have experienced improvements in department efficiency, response time, reporting, and communication.

Cons: It would be EXTREMELY useful to have a system to track keys (issued to employees) that works conjunctively when a work request is placed to make a set of keys.

Overall: Not only is it a great product, but customer support is superb.

Pros: Mike Reiff has been both knowledgeable and innovative with our ongoing installation/systems integration. Without his ability to look outside the box and come up with solutions we would not have achieved the success' we have today.

MC's TS Staff have been key in the integration of the project.

Brad Squires has lent a hand when needed and assisted with his vast comprehensive knowledge of the MC program and databases.

Many companies promised they could give us the world in what we knew would be a complicated migration from our 20+ year CMMS database to whatever system we chose not to mention the integration with our GIS, Inventory parts, HR, and Utility billing systems.

We also had to have a system that could be customized to each of our crew departments unique work order needs not the other way around as so many systems are designed.
Maintenance Connection is one of those rare products that you actually get what they promise.

Cons: GIS viewer needs to be improved. History is inconsistent.

Overall: Excellent! Each release shows MC is listening to it's customer base.

Pros: The product has great depth and is very robust in features, especially the reports module. We love the live support chat. This gives us much speedier problem resolution than we used to experience when call in or e-mail were our only methods of contact.

Cons: The logical connections are not all there for populating data for the same field across multiple modules, which creates additional keystrokes and greater possibility for data entry error. As a hosted account, we requested ability to see our time zone when logged into our database. It has been almost 3 years since we first requested it. We would still like to have this capability.

Overall: Great product overall! We are anxious to test the new features of Version 4.2, which was just released, especially the new shared features among users.

Pros: User Interface: It beats anything else we saw during our initial search. Customizable: they can change almost anything for you. Components to meet most needs: people, companies, assets, vehicles, training, purchase orders, tool checkout, key tracking, meter tracking, predictive maintenance ... oh, and work orders too. Reporter: the possibilities are literally infinite with that thing.

Cons: Internet Explorer only requesters can use other browsers, but anything beyond that requires IE. Built in documentation (tool tips, help notes, etc), but they do have a full online manual, you just have to go find the info you're looking for -- this is only a problem because the program is so feature rich sometimes you dont know what clicking a checkbox will do. Sometimes their support team lacks the knowledge and know-how of complex operations or tasks, you just have to find the right person -- our implementation guy is our go to guy for all the big stuff.

Overall: Maintenance Connection is just like all the rest of the CMMS Packages out there -- its just that their user interface will blow you away. They've taken the Microsoft Access looking database forms and spiffed them up into multiple screens for easy browsing, and image-based menus for quick access to all areas. If the average CMMS package gets a grade of C, we found one package that we thought was a B, and Maintenance Connection was clearly a solid A, but not as expensive because of their concurrent licensing.
