Pros

I just purchased this software and an extremely happy with the ease of implementation. Within a few minutes I configured the software to consolidate the Windows Event Logs on my production servers to my SQL Server database as well as schedule the software to archive off old data. For redundancy, I configured the software to backup the actual Event Log Files (.evt and .evtx) as well. The real-time monitoring functions are quite powerful as well. Unlike the Windows Event Viewer, Log Manager is able to merge multiple Event Logs to a single view and preview message content as seen in products like Outlook and Thunderbird. The viewer is much faster than the Windows Event Viewer. Ive also setup the software to monitor some of our application log files and am able to get notified when specific entries are detected and when the file is idle (meaning the application is hung). I reviewed other products and found the price of Log Manager was significantly less than similar products.

Cons

The software does not include a web interface, however, reports (such as successful remote desktop logins) can be scheduled and automatically exported to our intranet web site.

Overall

I would recommend this product to any organization that needs to monitor their Event Logs or are required to archive Event Logs to meet regulations.
