Pros

I like the comprehensive "dash board" look and feel of Big Contacts. The web based product is far superior to ACT! in ease of use, and ease of access by pc, blackberry, or a client's computer. No more "syncing" of data later! Also, their customer service is timely and accurate.

Cons

The only functionality it doesn't seem to have that I would like is the ability to "color code" different types of tasks, as in Outlook. Since different users are color coded instead, this is not possible in Big Contacts at this time.

Overall

I've used many CRM packages over the years, and I find Big Contacts to be superior to them all.

Pros

I have long been searching for a contact management software that would allow me to use a PDA or Cell phone to access my data. This service is truly practical for any sales representative that is on the go. The interface on the website is also extremely intuitive. And the price? How can you go wrong at only $24.95

Cons

No cons at this time. The bugs have all been worked out.

Sometimes it has some clitches. Takes a long time to load data with new software. Can not keep information just with me and my partner. So I can not share a client with him without sharing with the whole group

We read your comment and realized that we have not done a good job of informing you about our data import services. ACT! is actually the most commonly imported program in our system.

Where the confusion may exist is around who does the import. We offer two levels of data import into BigContacts.

1) Self- Serve - here you can import core contact information at no charge. (name, address, phone, email, custom fields)

2) Custom Data Import - here we do the import for you and can bring over all of your notes, history, email and even calendar events. We can literally transplant all the information you had in ACT to our database.

We are a small procurement consulting and e-procurement provider. We find the system very intuitive and easy-to-use, while having a very wide functionality. The cost of the system is very competitive. We have had almost no service or quality issues.

Pros

Very easy to learn to use. Has many features that I have not implemented yet but plan to. Easy to customize with the information we want included. Can access anywhere since it is web based.

Cons

Would like to be able to assign appts to people that are not users for my information to know who I assign appts to.

Pros

for the past four years we have used Zoho,Oprius,Bartchbook. Bigcontacts seems to be the easier one to pull reports, the contacts info has all the email,tasks,notes right in one place making it easy for everyone to review what is going on with each customer.
The non tech people that use it are not having a difficult time, that is one of the major reasons we switched.

Cons

We have a retail business, the marketing portion of bigcontacts lacks I was under that impression when I sing up I can send out thank you cards, and email follow ups but I had to sign up for vertical response so I have to double enter contact info to do all that.....pretty lame, Ive ask tech support about the integration but after after several emails Ive never got a straight response only that they are working with a vendor.
I also wanted to up load a couple of list and some contacts maybe deputes, bigcontacts does not combine dupes...you have to fix everything on one list then up load it...if you have a new list it will over write the existing one....what????

Overall

easier than other CRM Ive used, the pricing is reasonable, but some things still needs alot of improvement, man I cant believe no one out their has something simple to use and actually works!!! and does not cost an arm and a leg....

Pros

BG is a great tool for keeping track of all of your contacts and leads. You have all the information you need at your finger tips. This tool has definitely given me a competitive advantage.

Cons

BG is great, but for may users not being able to sync with Outlook is a big drawback.

- Some glitches: business names are sometimes deleted for no apparent reason, leaving contacts linked with the business difficult to find.

Pros

Very easy to set up and use. Easy to import data from previous database (ACT V6). Very easy to train new users. It's so intuitive you don't even need a manual. It's perfect for sharing calendars and contact information between two agents working as a team. System response time is good most of the time.

Cons

I have found the system unavailable for use around 10 p.m. Pacific Time, apparently while the data is being backed up. Response times are occasionally slowed during the day, possibly due to heavy system use. The letter-writing and label-generation functionality is poor to non-existent, but it's easy to work around these deficiencies using the excellent tools for exporting to Excel, then using Microsoft mail-merge.

Overall

BigContacts is a very easy-to-use system for keeping track of your calendar and contacts.

Customer Support sends answers to questions in a timely manner. Can be adapted to meet most needs.

Cons

The only "con" I have is with billing. It took a while to get our billing changed when we dropped a user, but it was finally credited.

It keeps everything very organized for us. There are multiple employees contacting the same people, and we can easily record everything we do.
It is also great that we can access the program from anywhere - it increases the convenience of the system since we aren't tied down to one computer.
The customer service BigContacsts provides is amazing! It has been great how helpful the staff has been with my questions as I've learned to use the program.

Cons

The system sometimes freezes, since it is web-based. Sometimes it doesn't register that it has sent an email, so we are unable to know if it has sent or not. It doesn't reflect well on our company.

Overall

I don't know if the number of people using the system has increased considerably in a short period of time, but maybe another server would help the issue with the program locking up.

Can not get our partner to move to it as he uses his Smartphone (not an iphone) and says BigContacts only supports the iphone. So I feel you need to get a got mobile phone app in place asap.

I've looked at a handful of cms', but bigcontacts really outshined the others by allowing the user to quickly edit contact info, add tasks, log calls etc quickly, without having to navigate to other sceens. This is what we needed - CMS structure without having that structure get in my way.

Cons

Sometimes (because of either their server or our internet access) the interface becomes unresponsive - ie, you click "update comment" on a contact and nothing happens.

Overall

I would heartily recommend bigcontacts to a small business that needs a easy-to-use, quick-to-implement cms that can scale easily.

I've progressed from ACT to Goldmine to Big Contacts. Big Contacts enables me to quickly access client information from any internet connection. Scheduling "Tasks" is quick and easy. Need to write a letter- everything is there for you on one screen. Also, I've used the support team and found them to be very helpful.

Cons

I'm currently working on resolving a problem with my email drop box- although it could be an issue with my email provider?

Overall, I'm very impressed and continue to look forward to new add on's in the future.

Big Contacts has worked perfectly for our small business. Being able to be have access to all our clients and vendor contacts anywhere we can get online is terrific.

We have also used the feature of assigning tasks which helps us keep track of when our clients need to be contacted.

The other feature that I find valuable is being able to attach a file to the clients contact page. This feature is terrific. I have been able to get attached excel spreadsheets that was established in our office and work on them from home. This allows us to have a virtual office, working with our clients anywhere.

Cons

I have had some problems with emailing directly from the big contacts page.

It would be helpful if we could get confirmation that our email has been sent.

Also when preparing an email draft there is no way to save. I had an issue once where I had to retype the email three times. I had tried to send the email but your site was having trouble emailing. It would have been nice to be able to save the email as a draft.
I rarely use the email feature because I need some confirmation that my email has been sent and received.

Overall

Satisfied with the program. Would just like to see some improvements in the emailing.

Marketing/Vertical Response sync has never worked well for me. Wish I could type in a short user ID rather than my email to log in.

Big Contacts is a user friendly CRM. The two features I find the most helpful are: 1) the ability to create automated tasks and emails based on changes in status; 2) The ability to create email templates.

Cons

Although searching the database is possible in at least two different ways, I would find a more accessible search helpful.

Pros

Easy to Use online contact management software.
Online software allows me to work seamlessly with my assistant. I can view my schedule from any computer I have access to. I can check my calender from my iphone.
This have improved my productivity.

I have been a user of Big Contacts coming up on two years (July 2008). And though it took real effort for me to break-away from a stand alone version of ACT, I'm glad I've made the move to a web-based CRM. I looked extensively at SalesForce.com and other similar websites, but dollar for dollar not only was Big Contacts the best value, but it had what I needed to keep track of my clients. The ability to travel up to 18-weeks a year and have all my contacts on the web has made us a more efficient company. We update client profiles after every contact, send emails and mass mail all with Big Contacts from any internet connection globally. I like that... D. Mauer

Cons

I would like it to be easier to look up a client by any of their contact information. It takes too much time to find someone by their phone number or email if you don't know the exact "field" you entered that info into.

Also, creating labels to do a mailer could be easier...

Big Contacts has help us get more done in an already busy work week. And if you spend ANY amount of time out of the office, you'll be glad to bring all of your contacts with you... Thanks to Big Contacts.

Price was also a big factor for us when considering online CMR's. Pros

I really like using BigContacts for my database. It's great for keeping track of client activity and generating mailing lists.

Cons

No App for Blackberry phones. I don't want an I-Phone because AT&T's phone service is beyond unacceptable where I live and work. They have the worst phone coverage of any service in Northern California.

Overall

I would go with BigContacts. They have served me well.

Pros

The online access is very convenient, even more so if you are out of the office or traveling regularly. The shared contact/calendar features work better than any other software I have used. Most features are very easy to use and require very little training, if any.

Customer service is very responsive to any needs that arise. The cost is reasonable and includes the service you need without a huge tech support bill like with many competitors.

The development team is constantly taking customer input and improvements and new feature are updated frequently.

Cons

Would like to see a little more flexibility in the recurring schedules for tasks and appointments. It currently does not offer bi-weekly intervals which would be very helpful in my industry.

There is some "quirkiness" in the photo upload feature on the contacts. This is not important to my business function at all, but would like to see that improved upon.



Overall

Overall, Big Contacts is the best solution I have found in many years. You can use it at a basic level or enhanced to meet your needs. Beginning users need not fear - it will be surprisingly easy to use. Advanced users can feel comfortable that it can meet your comprehensive requirements. The value in this product is excellent.

I love the easiness of Big Contacts. It is perfect for a great sales database. The tags,the automaitc emails into the database, the daily email reminders, the automatic attachments that are saved to their name if an email was sent, and much more... It takes the thinking out of the sales pathing. It is very user friendly and easy to import and export contacts. I have used other CRM softwares... Hands down big contacts is the best. The best part is that it is affordable.

Cons

It needs to be able to check for duplicate contacts and have a way to merge the contacts into one.

Overall

I have recommended Big Contacts to several clients and friends. This is a great CRM software that is very affordable.

This de-duplication feature will not only allow you to de-duplicate contacts after you import new ones, but you can occasionally scan your entire database to find duplicates and merge them - helping you to maintain a clean database.

Pros

BigContacts is easy to start-up and use. The initial (or ongoing) import feature kick starts your usage. Great tracking for phone calls and note taking. Good at reminding you of history. Fast interface on multiple browsers (although Chrome seems best)

Cons

A little quirky inside Chrome at times. The ability to be able to reply to emails inside BigContacts would be nice (and is promised in soon-to-be-released version)

Overall

All the CRM features a small business needs on a budget that all can afford. Great customer support - best I have seen for any online product solution.

Easy to use, economical and provides everything we need to schedule follow-ups and communicate with customers. Auto-pilot campaigns allow us to stay in touch with clients behind the scenes, and email templates provide me with a way to ensure my sales people are sending effective and professional communication in an incredibly time-efficient fashion.

Cons

I have submitted some requests for improvements, specifically to the sales opportunity features, which have not yet been implemented.

Overall

Before finding Big Contacts, we looked at virtually every contact management system we could find and had just about given up because we didn't like any of them. Our IT dept was going to have to build one in-house. Big Contacts is what we'd have built if we'd done it ourselves, only much better.

Pros

We've been using Big Contacts for a while now to manage our appointment scheduling, customer and vendor database, sales and lead info. We specifically got iPhones so we could access Big Contacts out in the field. Love accessing Google maps through contact info for navigational help en route to appointments. Also like that calendar can be broken down into 15 min. segments.

Cons

Wish that contact data entry was expedited, say by only needing to type in zipcode and have the system plug in the city, state. You have to type in every entry in full. But that is a fine point.

Occasionally have lost tag clouds for no known reason. Customer service quickly restores, but is an odd kink.

Overall

Does a pretty darn good job for a great price.

I love that Big Contracts is a web based application that allows me to access my database from any computer. There are kinks in the system, however. I'll talk about those in the cons. Entering the data is easy, and I love the ability to reach a large number of clients with one email send. The drip campaigns are also very powerful for reaching out to a group of clients.

Cons

The customer support is really lacking. I've had quite a few issues with Big Contacts, and some are still outstanding. I've opened tickets with Big Contacts support and I've asked for them to contact me to resolve my issues, and I'm still haven't heard back. I've noticed that sometimes I'll enter a contact and I'll go back to look for them and they won't be there. Also, I've had a problem with a log of an email send showing up under a contact. It's very frustrating to go through all the trouble of setting up a group email and not have any accountability for it. I know the emails are sending...I get out of offices in response, but there's not record. Also, when it was first communicated to Big Contacts, they claimed that it couldn't be a problem with their product, it must have been a problem with me. This still isn't resolved and I hope that Big Contacts gives more care to customer support in the future. Also can't access from my blackberry.

Overall

I realize that Big Contacts is a new program, and I appreciate that, but at the same time, I'd like more attention paid to client's needs. I like the functionality, and if a few kinks I would feel comfortable recommending Big Contacts to someone.

Pros

I like big contacts. It is easy to use. It has lots of space to store files. I can assign tasks to others and see if others have completed them yet or not.

Cons

Does not sync with outlook. Is not available on an app for mobile phones except on iphone. I have a droid phone and would love it to sync with my google calendar and outlook.

I would give it a 7/10.

I have been a Big Contact online user for about a year and find it a wonderful program. I was a long time Act user and I really like Big Contacts compared to Act. The pricing is also very attractive.
When the application came up for the IPhone it was a no brainer and downloaded it immediately! Now I have all my contacts for my business in one place. I still use the Iphone contacts but that is for all my family and friends. Now I have two great databases.

Cons

Does not have all the features of the online subscription version but it does what it needs to do.

Overall

Highly recommend the application!

Everything in one place. Contacts, Forms, Calendar, and Scheduled Forecasted Sales. I also like the email marketing associated with it.

Cons

Too much money per user. If you are using this within a companu that needs many users, it becomes too expensive.
