Pros

Firmcover answers the questions that users, auditors and regulators ask for everyday, how does this process work and is it properly documented. It is easy to install and maintain and has a feature that insures that the people who need it most receive the new changes for implementation. A nice added feature is the ability to use the firmcover tool as a training capability for new staff and visiting regulators.

Cons

No real downside to using the firmcover tool as long as everybody understands that practioners are the ultimate owners of the process rather than a "one time" project manager. The process is ongoing.

Overall

Plan for a systematic implementation that includes each and every process in your operations. Leaving a process out only increases risk and vulnerability. I recommend the firmcover tool and documentation process become part of every manager's set of responsibilities.
