FAF: Launch of US-GAAP Codification
The Financial Accounting Standards Board launched the one-year verification phase of its Accounting Standards Codification http://asc.fasb.org, a system that reorganizes the thousands of U.S. GAAP pronouncements into accounting topics using a consistent structure (based on DITA / XML ). “This was a major, organization-wide project that really reengineered how we interact with our users. In selecting a partner, we had very specific business and technical requirements – most notably a flexible architecture, with best-in-class version control and audit trail capability. More importantly, however, we recognized early on that the sheer size of this project necessitated a partner who would work with us to customize the solution for our unique application,” explains Ron Guerrette, VP of the Financial Accounting Foundation .
“We have been extremely impressed with both the speed of implementation and the general “lack of issues” with Ovitas. From our perspective, this has been a huge win,” said Tom Hoey, Director of the Codification Project.
Ovitas is an employee owned Network of Companies currently incorporated in the US, Hungary and Norway. The Ovitas International Network allows each organization to provide additional services, solutions, and expertise to their customers, regardless of location.
