Comments: We are an HVAC company and have used the software since 2002 as our database. Last year we began using the portal which has helped our techs find important info when needed in the evening if the office is closed. we are still trying to implement the use of the portal in the field for techs full time. We have never used the accounting side,our bookkeeper prefers Quick books. The software is very easy to use and can be customized in my different fields to suit your needs. We are a flat rate company and although we use a flat rate program that is not as popular at some of the big names Wintac support was able to create an import utility that allows us to use the flat rate program we wish too. Overall we think it is a very decent software.

Comments: Wintac has been very helpful to us. We are able to do everything we need to in order to manage our business. There are some features we don't even know how to use yet because there is that much. I do have a few recommendations for constructive feedback, nothing I hate about it but there is always room for improvement. 1) The customer service team is always fantastic. Lately, however, they have been super busy. You used to be able to get someone on the line right away, but now it's more of an answering service. I would like to see them bring on more staff to accommodate their growing customer base. 2) I would really like to be able to have the dispatch board up in a separate window so I can always see where I have all of my guys, but still be able to navigate through WT. 3) With the many features of wintac, I would love to be able to see more webinars available for training. I feel like we are only scratching the surface.
It would also be neat if Wintac could integrate with gmail or Google calendar.

I love how Wintac is always asking us opinions and implementing our suggestions. Thank you for always being open to listen to our requests.

Comments: Wintac helped us tremendously in scheduling, invoicing and keeping track of important customer & employee information. We have been using the 2012 Wintac Green Version. The program was not as intuitive as standard "windows" programs, but the training available was great . Wintac is very easy to operate (now) and we cannot imagine our professional life without it!

Comments: We implemented Wintac a little while ago to go paperless and streamline out billing process. Wintac is not an integrated solution but does have a limited transfer to and from QuickBooks. Tech support on average is good. All our issues have been fixed if not immediately, have been fixed in a day or so when the correct support agent is tapped to straighten out our software problems. The online support is pretty good and quite often connects to my computer to fix the problems, and usually shows me how to correct the problem I was having. Had a few problems with the Web portal, but most of the troubles have been corrected. Do use the Wintac app. It has a bug capturing signatures that support assured me would be corrected with the upcoming release.

Comments: Excellent software and people behind the software. Makes life a little easier. We've started using Wintac 2004. Upgraded in 2012. Now upgrading again. The software has been improved over the years. I am looking forward to the new upgrade so that we can start using this software as our primary software for running our business in 2017.

Pros: Nothing

Cons: Income and Expense reports changing for no reason, tax tables, customer accounts disappearing, reporting options are very limited, software decides to pay what every amount it feels like.

Overall: When we first bought this software program, we had asked a series of questions to make sure this was the right product for us. Turns out, over a third of the questions we asked and were told this program could do, was nothing more than a flat out lie. But they could do what we asked if we paid several thousand dollars more than we had already paid, to add in these features we were told that the software already had.

We have been using this software for 2 years now, and are have nothing but problems. I am only going to list the bigger issues we have, mainly because, I¿m not writing a novel here, just a review.

-We haven¿t been able to fill our 2015 taxes so far this year, because our income and expenses from 2014 change every day. We have not been making any changes where these numbers should be changing in any way. This is an extremely serious issue, so far their tech support hasn¿t been able to tell us why this is happening.

-When we go to look up a customer, more than half the time, the customer account won¿t show up, as if there is no account at all. Then, same with when we finally do get into the account, half of the service history is just gone. Most the time the accounts will show back up, we will either need to restart the program or open on another computer and then they will be back. But we have lost a few accounts to this glitch, where they never showed back up.

-When writing checks to our vendors, I will put in the amount that needs to be paid, but once the check is written, it is for a complete different amount. This will happen about a third of the time when writing checks, and I have yet to find any reason why this is happening.

-Taxes are not updated annually. Federal taxes should be and need to be updated annually.

-There have been 11 updates to this software so far this year, each causing more problems, one of the most recent being, customer statements. Customer statements were printing the wrong amount due.

-We have to run housekeeping on this software every day. Because if we don¿t, we are more likely to lose accounts, more reporting issues, more checks incorrectly written, etc.

This software is junk. Their price makes it look good for what they say they offer, but with all these issues, it is a complete waste of money.

Pros: to many to list

Cons: takes a little time to learn but after a short while its a very intuitive software

Overall: I have been in business in the h.v.a.c. industry for over 25 years my son joined me about 5 years ago and we decided to focus on growth to allow my household to continue earning and his growing family to earn a living, along with our employees to achieve higher pay to support their families. With the new software we are able to schedule more call without missing appointments and upsetting customers ,service techs have proper pricing,the ability to invoice and collect in the field saving countless hours of reentry of invoices to be mailed out latter and the customers are always impressed with the professionalism it brings.I could go on and on but the main point is it has been the most time saving money making customer relations investment I have made in my 25 years of operation.

Pros: The ability to keep track of customers, technicians at the click of a mouse. Quick billing and less time for inner office employees to duplicate invoices with the use of the web portal.

Cons: Have requested to have some changes to the taxing for difference in commercial and residential taxing but to have it made is very expensive. I believe it should be part of the program as it is required by State Sales Tax rules. It makes book keeping complicated.

Overall: We have been using Wintac for our air conditioning and heating business for over ten years. Overall the product is easy to use and new employee's train quickly on it. The web portal is a great tool too!

Recommendations to other buyers: Wintac is always adding features and continue to update and improve the product . They also have good technical assistance and in most cases can recover lost data when computer fail. This is a valuable asset for me. Even with back ups problems occur that we have had to depend on Wintac to recover data.

Overall: Wintac is fairly easy to use software and has a lot of information right in front of you to see. We only use it for dispatching and it can do so much more. I'd like to expand its use in the near future. I think it loses some points on report flexibility. There are a lot of reports that are helpful to you but they are pretty much set and sometimes when you are trying to go deep in the data like is a customer active still or when was the last time they used us it is difficult to get this in a report fashion.

Cons: Can't drill down like QuickBooks but still great value & operation for the price.

Cons: When you find a design flaw, at least hear the customer out without a charge. A program design issue could help you in the future.

Overall: Have been using Wintac for 2 years now and overall it is a great product. There are a few suggestions I would have for the designers, however, overall very satisfied. I gave customer support 3 stars because if you find a design flaw in the product, you should at least look into it without charging the customer for technical support. This type of feedback should be accepted and reviewed before refusing to hear the customer out.

Recommendations to other buyers: Yes. Suggestion to follow up with a customer when they have been using the product for at least 6 months, to see what kind of issues they may be having or what types of questions they may have.

Comments: After operating an electrical/plumbing/ HVAC business for over 25+ years on QuickBooks, it was time to move on to something a little more efficient. We went live a year ago. The learning curve was harder for some than others in our company. The front office wasn't pulling out hair after a couple of months and the field tech's still have some issues (mostly the older guys) but all in all everything is 100% smoother than our old way of doing things. Wintac's support is always helpful. We do have the field module and it is the only way to go! No more lost customer invoices and skipped appointments! I think the efficiency between the office and the field has increased about 50%-60%. I wish we would have implemented Wintac years ago!

I love the inventory management from Wintac. Reports generate quickly to evaluate order management.

Comments: While we may have a few glitches from time to time the program is so easy to use that I am able to correct most issues simply by clicking the "housekeeping" button. When I can't figure it out I just called tech support and they are always very kind and helpful, efficient. We have been using this program for our HVAC business since we opened in 2010 and I wouldn't change a thing! It's an all inclusive program that allows us to manage our company mostly in house without having to hire on additional companies for services like payroll and monthly/quarterly taxes. Everything is in one place and easy to use. I will continue to use Wintac for years to come, I'm sure!

Comments: The scheduling module simplifies our daily tasks, it is easy to use and flipping to different views enables us more flexibility.
The invoicing or WIP module gives us the ability to make our invoices clear and concise.

Comments: CONS: 1) From time to time we experience small issues, but big enough to bring some discomfort and slow down our production.
As it only appears to happen after the 1 year technical support agreement expires, which "force" you to actually renew the technical support service no matter what. As the discount to renew when the time comes is very small, sometimes it's out of the budget to do it right away.
And as we never know when it's going to happen...!!! :(
A suggestion for better service the "small business" industry could be a payment plan that better fits our budget, instead of a one time lump sum subscription renew.

Comments: Easy to manage and update in the office. We have scanned in all current customer hard data into the Wintac system for easy retrieval in and out of the field.(no more file drawers and cards).

Coupled with our texting system, the Wintac system allows for quick changes in scheduling and routing, eliminating most of our phone calls to the field. We have almost reduced billing to zero, with our collection for services now done in the field and transmitted to our office via email.

The only troubles we have had are with updates and their associated bugs and glitches for lack of IT terminology, and speed.

I am hoping Wintac 2016 and the upgrade to the WEB PORTAL will increase speed and connectivity.

These issues left us unable to use the program for periods of time. Luckily customer service is readily available and most of the time they were able to help us, although it did take a very long time (more than a year) to figure out the underlying problem.

Comments: We are a small company and our biggest problem through the years has been tracking individual equipment model and serial numbers to prevent needless trips to/from customer locations. With this program, we can keep each model and serial number, filter and belt sizes and all sorts of other individual equipment information in each customer's file that we can access in the office and they can access in the field. Comments: We use Wintac for our Residential & Commercial HVAC business. We use every aspect of the software, from scheduling & dispatching to accounting, and are very happy with it.
We use a network, which allows multiple people access to the dispatch board at any given time which helps us to work as a team. At a glance, we can look at the dispatch board and know where any given tech/installer is.
Being able to look through a customers account history is a valuable troubleshooting tool for our tech's.
The ability to have a detailed electronic inventory file, which we can easily and quickly find where and when we bought equipment and parts, has tremendously helped us with quick & accurate invoicing and warranty claiming.

We are able to run our company smoothly with the easy to read (and use) job control board and all of the reports we can generate.

I have not used a lot of the accounting functions myself due to us using a CPA and payroll company so I cannot comment on that much, but everything else works for us well.

We are just now adding the XCharge to our technicians' mobile devices and we know this is going to make getting payment so much easier.

We are happy with the support team and the software that we have had for almost 10 years! Very much recommend.

Has many feautures that are essential for growing and running any business. Not all of our techs come to our office and emailing schedule is really easy. Dispatching board is great! Accounting is also very easy to use and with some accounting knowledge it is easier than quick books.

Cons
Took some time to figure out how to organize and code staff. Discovered many great features after at least a year of using a program. Customer service was always really helpful and patient, but it was somewhat confusing in the beginning. Would be nice to send emails/texts to customers inside program as well to have buil- in GPS for employee tracking, but hopefully that will be available soon with Wintac's great customer service.

Some networking issues make us run housekeeping few times a day, and some items have difficulty showing up on technician productivity reports, but hopefully this gets resolved with new upgrated software, since our tech support wasnt up to date to call for assistance.

Additional info:
We have now been using Wintac for almost 6 years. So far we have two office users. We have been considering switching to a cloud base software but considering the options and price after trying few other demos we decided to continue using Wintac. I also love the fact that we keep all data. We will be adding WebPortal this time and hopefully that works great:)

Work orders are easy to process and keep track of whether it is for a single customer or a large account with multiple job sites. The best part is being able to personalize the style of work orders through word to include our company logo. Wintac also makes it easy to keep track of equipment and I even personalized the business options to keep track of our annual service plans. I must admit it takes getting used to. I'm still learning how to integrate my Excel price list into the inventory but I know I'll get there with the help of Tech support and Bootcamp! Overall, with patience and time you will see Wintac is really a worthwhile program to enhance your business productivity!

In the beginning the learning curve was not too bad. They where there with phone support every time! Once we got the hang of it, we rolled it out and started using it. Customers where getting invoiced the very next day which in our business is a big PLUS!

CONS:
Wish we could "MODIFY" ALL the forms to suit our specific needs but that is NOT an option. Trying to create your own form takes a lot of time which in my industry I do not have.

When you enter your specific job number when creating a WIP (work order) the same job number can be entered again the next time you create a WIP. Very bad if you have multiple users and the same number is being issued to different customers.

Overall:
Good product, some bugs but they are working on them and I would recommend to anyone.

Have worked with Wintac for better than 15 years and have always found to be a timesaver.

I had absolutely no complaints until we opened another store at a second location and Wintac instantly became useless. You cannot share the database without a virtual terminal, or remotely accessing another computer through a VPN. All of which is crazy expensive in addition to having to purchase additional user licenses. If you have one location, this is perfect all-in-one software. If you plan to branch out, keep looking. This isn't the one for you.

Comments: We are a small construction business getting ready to enter property management repair service as a profit center. Wintac tied as our software initial top choice. We decided to go with them since they are a single product company and assumed we would get better customer service and technical support. We are still building up to our kick-off date and were working to learn Wintac as time is available. A week after placing the order, we sent an email to technical support with questions. It never was, or never has been, replied to. A week later, I called Technical Support and couldn¿t get through to a rep, so l left our number to have them call back. Five hours later they finally called. We sent a second email that was Cc:d to both the Customer Service Rep and Sales Rep for whom I had an email address with another question. I heard back from the Sales Rep who said technical support had never received my first or second email. (She implied there was a problem with our email system, though it is curious that my email to her got through.) We finally were able to resolve that issue. Five weeks after starting the lease on the software we are ready to go live and started to enter data. We found another issue with the software that they were unable to resolve, so we decided to give up on Wintac and go with our other top choice. Since we had never actually made use of the software, we requested they cancel the agreement and refund the $270. It rarely happens with our company, but if someone is totally unsatisfied with our work we refund their money in order hold to the highest standards and keep our reputation spotless. Therefore, we were not expecting the tirade we receive from the Sales Rep who flatly refused to refund the money for a product we never used. I guess we will be fighting it out with them by contesting the charges on the credit card. This experience has left a sour taste with us about Wintac and won¿t be referring them, ever. Wintac is definitely not the company we expected, regardless of how good the software may be.

While most companies require you to navigate a mine field of hard selling techniques and fine print, Mike gave us up front and prompt answers to all of our questions. Good tracking of stock and techs and job history.

Middle of the road:
Okay dispatching tool. Web portal works well most of the time, but the signature capture is not reliable and the format of docs to email/print in the field is always wrong.

Cons:
Uses Microsoft Access, not good for multi-user. Locks up constantly. Tried help and they said it wasn't their fault.
Doesn't carry pertinent information to Quickbooks, just a skeleton, and forces accounting to go back into Wintac to get the info they want. When they do, Wintac freezes on the three user capabilities (she being the third user) and everything has to be reset to move forward.
As soon as my help expired, the program got much worse and they will offer no help.

Overall:
Probably good if you have one office user and customers that do not require a signature.

Comments: After many conversations with the salesman, we were fooled into believing this software was a stand alone program that we could use to do all the necessary functions of a small service oriented business. While the program offers some great features, the accounting features are greatly lacking. We are very concerned with our Accounting functions and were unable to use this software to complete several Accounting tasks, especially our payroll. It seems this is NOT a stand alone software. Yes it does integrate with other programs, namely Quick Books, but if you are looking to complete all tasks within one program, this is not the one for you either. Not only did we buy the software but also were talked into a 5 year plan costing a great deal of money. We are not using the software and will not be, yet the company will not stand behind their product by offering a refund to keep this customer satisfied. We are very disappointed with the software and the company behind it. We would not recommend!

Comments: We have a multi-truck service and repair contracting company, operating in two states. We have been using Wintac for all of our accounting, dispatch and customer work since 1994 and wouldn't even consider anything else. We just "re-upped" for another five years!

The customer service is top-notch and their upgrades address every new wrinkle in our type of work. We haven't yet used the web portal but upgraded and can't wait to use that with our technicians' smart phones.

If you aren't using Wintac, you are at a real competitive disadvantage.

Comments: We are a small HVAC and plumbing contractor which has used the Accounts Receivable portion of Wintac for over ten years. The reason we like Wintac so much is that it is very user friendly. A new employee can pick it up with ease. Very rarely, after the initial installation, have we needed support. It also allows for extensive customer history which is very important to us and our customers. The only issue for us is the integration with Quick Books and that is mostly operator error in changing information in Wintac after the it was imported into Quick Books. Otherwise, I would recommend it to anyone.

Pros: Very user-friendly especially with detail for customer based applications and equipment detail, plus reports for keeping up with up-coming maintenance agreements. Interfaces well with payroll and accounts payable for job cost.
We have Not updated often over the years, but the customer help line has been excellent whenever we have used it. Many improvements over the years.

Cons: Difficulty tracking for accounting purposes for Income statement, but this is improving. The Balance sheet is difficult to follow since the account numbers are hard to follow within the reports. There is, however, a way to see detail with some of the reports that are available. Inventory is hard to follow, so we have not used that feature yet.
Would like to see updates not be so expensive and the customer help line be offered longer than just one year. At first this software had lifetime helpline, no matter how many times updates were or were not purchased. A grandfather clause would have been nice since we have used this software almost 20 years now.

Overall: Would recommend this software especially for the customer service side. There is probably none paralleled for cusomter service to this software, and keeping up with the needs of customers is what drives the heating and air conditioning business.
Would recommend someone with accounting background be alongside the accounting end when setting up this software to interface with customer service side, if the plan is to use the accounting side of this software. There is, however a way to interface with other softwares for accounting usage, such as Quickbooks.

Pros: very easy to use. quick to pick up and serves it's purpose very well. We have used wintac at our office for a long time. I've been working for the company for 5 years and never really had any issues with Wintac

Cons: from my experience I don't see that were able to download pricelists directly into wintac. we have had to build our price inventory over time and I would much prefer being able to update price lists by downloading an excel file right into the program instead of having to update prices manually.

Overall: I would recommend Wintac as a purchasing tool to anyone thinking of buying it. It's easy to use and has a lot of features.

Pros: I am very happy with Wintac, I used to work on Quick books but this software is more geared for HVAC companies. I love the fact that when I call in for support, there is very little hold time and they answer my questions quickly and efficiently compared to Quick Books support..

Cons: So far I don't have any complaints and I have been using this program for almost a year now.

Overall: I would highly recommend this software to other HVAC companies

Pros: We have been with Wintac since 1997. There has been a lot of changes since we have been there. I like that they take your ideas and suggestions.

Cons: Should give a discount for customers that have been with the programs long. :0)

Overall: Have recommended Wintac to other HVAC companies, which have bought the program. They too are liking Wintac and thank me for showing them.

Pros: I've been using Wintac for about 7 months and have found it to be very user friendly! It has an audio tuturial and audio tips. The customer service live chat is AWESOME! With upgrades you get unlimited tech support, of which I've used a lot!

Cons: The only thing I can think of that could be considered a, "con", is how the search is used in the checking and accounts payables fields.

Overall: Overall, I would recommend this program to hvac companies.

Pros: I have found Wintac to be easy to use and very customizable. It allows me the ablity to track a customer through the sales process with ease. Our structure requires a site evaluation work order, to a proposal, to a purchase order, to a work order, to an invoice. Wintac handles the transition with ease and only requires me to enter the information once. I have also found the dispatch board and scheduling to be fabulous. I really appreciate the customer sales service- Deanna Duffy is the best. At the beginning I had a few growing pains but I found the online support to be invaluable to help me grow.

Cons: The main con with Wintac for me is, as we are in Canada, I have to run another accounting program because Wintac does not support Canadian Payroll. However, Wintac has Accounting Links that make tranfering information to my accounting software easy.

Overall: We are currently upgrading our office and have just added another user and upgraded our Wintac for the next 5 years- Need I say more?

Pros: I've worked a LOT of computer programs in my long career as an administrative
professional. This is BY FAR the most efficient and accessible program I have
ever used. It works wonderfully for our business. If we lose power it is easy
to go to paper and then enter in system, when the power is back on, without
throwing any of the crew off track. Intac International's on-line support is
exceptional. They will stay with you until you are comfortable with the
results. You can also print the session to refer back to at a later date. Each
year we get an update which seems to further enhance the system. Thank you
Intac for making my job so much easier.

Cons: I have nothing bad to say about WINTAC

Overall: 10+ and/or A+ - it's the best!

Pros: extremely easy to use
tech support is top notch
set up extremely fast to accomplish

Cons: current version could stand some tweeking regarding the ease of associating owners with tenants, but that apparently is being taken care of in the next version

Overall: Great software, probably the best on the market. I've been in property management since 1992 and this far outshines the other programs I've used.
