Pros
Cost-effective and user-friendly FEA solver which I have
relied upon for over 12 yeas.
Cons
A product is never complete. There is always room for improvement and having used NEi Nastran for over
12 years, I am confident that I will see continuous
improvements such as "Advection in 2D Axisymmetric
FEA Models", "Contact Thermal Resistance" as well as
"2D Axisymmetric Elastomeric Elements"
Overall
I highly recommend NEi Nastran from NEi Software
company as a cost-effective FEA product.

Pros
We needed a suite of structural analysis capabilities covering static, advanced composites, dynamic, stability, collapse, impact, frequency, and random vibration tools. In addition, the solver had to include material and true geometric non-linearities and be capable of transient loading. NEi Nastran has more than meet these needs. Furthermore, the FEA code had to easily handle local material coordinate systems for 3D-solids and 2D-laminated shell elements that are common with changing properties in FRP structures. Again, NEi Nastran satisfied this need.
Cons
Often CAD and FEA change format with upgrades. However, portabilty links is handled by NEi Software development in a timely manner.
Overall
NEi Nastran is a user-friendly, powerful, and affordable software solution that can be applied to any industry. In addition, a FEA solver package is not particularly useful without good service. This is an area where NEi Software excels.
