Pros
We have been using PICS for nearly 10 years and have seen it change considerably. Some of the postive aspects include:
- "Easy on the Eyes" layout
- Simple pull downs
- Common sense tools
- Very simple system to learn. I have trained several people on PICS and everyone picks it up very well.
- Good inventory control
- Simple report generating
Cons
Some Cons we noticed are probably related to growing pains. When we put the lot system into place we felt a bit like guinee pigs. Trying to truck through all the changes and seemed like we were a bit in the dark. Another CON we have experienced is with regards to the amount of time it would take for some of our custom requests to get done. Sometimes we had to ask several times for a task to get done. The fact that the system is in fox pro may be limiting to us as well... but that is to be seen.
Overall
I would like to see the lot number system work a bit smoother. As well response time to be a bit quicker. Sometimes we needed someone on location faster then they were able to get here. Overall i feel PICs is a great system and the passion the Waudware staff has comes through in their product and service. I would recommend this system to any business small, medium, to large; it can work at any level.
