If you can’t get passionate about our mission, then we’re probably not the place for you. All of our cool perks are just, well, perks. That said, we think that you will be hard-pressed to find a better work environment.

    You will work on a variety of fun stuff for an innovative company in an industry that is cutting edge. Whether you are on the business side or the technical side, you will wear multiple hats and you’ll learn a lot of new skills.
  2. You will have a balanced life.
    Expect 40-45 hour work weeks. This is unheard of in most technology companies where 60-70 hour work weeks are the norm. You are welcome to work to your heart’s content and as many hours as you like (after all, your work will be interesting), but we don’t expect any more than 40-45 hour work weeks and actually believe that long hours are unsustainable in the long run. If you are good, we want you to stay here for the long term.
  3. We’re flexible.
    While 9:00 – 5:30 may be ideal for most of us, you can work 6:30 to 3:00, 11:00 to 7:30 or somewhere in between. You’ll get a laptop and can even choose to work some hours from home. We prefer a minimum of 7 hours per day in the office due to the benefits that arise from being together as a team. We have some people who are at the office from 9:00 to 4:30 and then work remotely in the evening for an hour or so. That’s fine. We trust our people. And we trust that people will do what it takes to be the most productive they can be.
  4. We’re casual.
    We believe that being happy and comfortable is critical to good work. So wear anything (OK, within reason) you want to work. Just wear something.
  5. We have great health benefits.
    We pay 100% medical benefits for individuals (75% for family coverage).
  6. We have great retirement benefits.
    We match 100% of your contribution, up to the first 5% of your salary, for your 401k.
  7. You’ll have time to relax.
    In addition to 10 floating holidays, you will receive 3 weeks of annual paid vacation during the first two years, then 4 weeks after that. At your five year anniversary, you will receive a 5 week full paid sabbatical. This helps with the whole "balance" thing.

    You will have a very comfortable chair. In fact, we spend way more on our chairs than on our desks.

    Free snacks and drinks. You’ll also park (or Metro) for free.

  • Work ethic: The price to pay for a balanced life and a flexible schedule is that you must do quality work and get stuff done quickly – whether it is responding to customers, developing a new piece of functionality or moving Capterra forward in general. We owe Capterra 8-9 hours per weekday, which means if some personal stuff comes up during the day, we make up for it in the evening or the weekend. Not because we have someone ordering us to do it, but because it is the right thing to do if we want Capterra to continue to succeed. Most importantly, it is not the hours we put in that we measure ourselves by; it is, as the saying goes, what we put in the hours.
