CCI-MBS LOVES KAREO!

Comments: I learned about Kareo through a locum tenens that worked for my physician. I have been his medical biller for 14 years. She showed me a demo of the software, and how user-friendly it was. I did my research regarding the pricing and decided to purchase Kareo. That was 2012. I had no providers, 18+ years experience, and a lot of FAITH!

After putting things in place and advertising my business, I signed my first client in May 2014. For this particular client, I am only performing the billing functions (no EMR or collections) therefore, I am limited in knowledge with the full features. The customer service team walked me through the full enrollment process. Claims were billed, the provider paid...SUCCESS!

The online how to videos are the best. I am more of a visual learner so that works well for me
I'm glad that the customer service hours have changed to start at 7a.m. This works well for the Texas customers! I just recently signed my second client. I feel more confident now thanks to a smooth running software and customer support that is available when you call. That makes a very big difference to a biller new to a software.

I do feel that the multiple insurance registration screens can be a bit confusing. It asks for an insurance plan as well as an insurance company. I still have trouble understanding the process, however I will call customer service for more clarification on this process.

I see big things in my future....and KAREO has played a major role in my success!!

Highly recommend outsourcing with them - our dedicated account manager is great too. When I was using the PM, I wish it was not a desktop client though.

Comments: We have used Kareo Practice Management for some time, but just started using EHR a few months ago. This program is easy to use, and generates clear, concise notes. Templates are available, but we haven't done much with them. Some free texting is needed, but the end result is better than most other programs I have seen. Electronic prescribing works great. Superbills export to Practice Management flawlessly. Having Stripe linked to the system is a definite plus if processing credit cards. I would like to see the product continue to evolve so as to require less data entry (e.g., exporting diagnoses and orders directly to the superbill). All in all, we are very happy with the product!

Comments: Kareo is easy to use. Documentation has the ability to type free hand and to use drop down boxes. Making appointments and call backs is easy since it has the ability to call back patients for apt automatically, saving time. Scheduling is easy to do and takes minutes. This product overall I would give it 5 stars on ease of use. Customer Service is outstanding since each client has one person they talk to discuss problems who then forwards it to the appropriate person. customer service a 5. Overall 4 stars as clinical summary needs some work on this.

Comments: I have been using Kareo for 4 years now and there is no way I could practice without them. The program is so intuitive and quick to use that it adds virtually no time to my day. I can view my clearinghouse reports and followup on any issues in a timely manner. I particularly love the fast code scrubbing which catches mistakes or mis-keyed entries before they get sent out so there is no delay in payments. Kareo is a must for smaller, but thriving, practices who prefer to keep billing in house and want to maintain control over the financial aspect of the practice. I will never go back to outsourcing my billing...ever.

Comments: We selected Kareo to use right out of the gate for a veteran Doctor opening a start-up clinic with zero initial staff. Kareo training support during our initial phase was excellent, consistent, and readily available by phone and by online chat (a feature that we LOVE).

After the initial training phase, they have remained readily accessible, although due to the stability and ease of the product, we rarely need assistance even at the 9 months marker. As a consultant in billing and insurance for over 20 years, I have put it through the paces really hard, expecting optimal performance, and placing many demands on performance and accuracy that some might not.

Kareo has performed well while enabling me to easily train four new staff (who had no previous experience in the field) how to run the front office functions and even the initial entry of encounters for billing.

We like the security available to various levels of user profiles! Very helpful to include or exclude certain functions by employee. Another area we really use is the TASK function. With several employees, billing located in a different location, and all working different shifts, the task function is a huge plus for this software.

Kareo makes it easy to set up or switch and to comply with today's insurance, billing, and EHR regulations. An added bonus is that if we, or you, ever decide to outsource the billing portion, say, for instance, if you lost staff or just wanted to move billing out of the clinic, Kareo is positioned to immediately pickup and continue those functions seamlessly because of the cloud-based system. We particularly like the security of that backup plan.

We couldn't be more pleased on performance and ease of use. The highly competitive rate, month to month no contract, and no large upfront costs or maintenance fees are all excellent features as well!

With two generations of healthcare providers and a combined over 50 years in the field, and having previously owned a physician billing software company for more than 20 years, we are pleased to give Kareo a high recommendation.

Comments: Kareo has been a great addition to my small private practice clinic. It is very user-friendly, and easy to learn. Their customer support has been spectacular, both in chat and phone support. I have not had to use them too much, but when I did it was a great experience. I have recently started using the EHR, after a few years of using their practice management system, and I am very pleased. I was able to create custom templates that fit my practice, which makes visit documentation a breeze. The EHR and Practice Management systems communicate well with one another. I do wish that there was a option for the receptionist to apply a patient copay in the check-in screen to make tracking this payment easier. Overall, I am very pleased with the Kareo products that I use, and would highly recommend this company to any healthcare practitioner.

Comments: I've been using Kareo for almost four years now, and with little exception, I highly recommend it as a solid end-to-end billing and practice management solution. I run a small billing company focused exclusively on the privately-owned physical therapy market, and maintain an account for each of my clients. The system is very intuitive, and therefore easy to learn and use. Two of the things I like the most are the complete integration with the clearinghouse, making EDI transactions a cinch, and the integration with a patient statement printing service, making on-going patient billing and collections easier and efficient. My only issue-they'd promised for quite some time to transition to a browser-based system, and we still haven't seen that come to fruition. Occasionally, the tech support hasn't been as robust as I'd prefer, but I've always gotten satisfactory results with my inquiries and issues. Overall, I'd highly recommend Kareo.

Comments: I researched many billing programs before I chose Kareo and I have never regretted it.
The only cons I have are: the response time to my questions, and the program isn't exactly tailored to my type of practice which is a sleep lab.
But the pros make up for it because I am usually able to find answers to my questions on the Kareo forum or videos & help guides. They are updating all the time. It's user friendly, easy to use and learn, no hidden fees and plenty of reports to find all sorts of info.

The program looks complicated from the outside but I had no billing experience before getting started and now I feel 100% confident in my billing skills. Comments: Hello, my name is Tasha Johnson-Dotson. I'm the Billing Manager at Absolute Family Health in Bartlett, TN. I have been using Kareo for almost 2 years and I love how all of the patient¿s information is sent from Practice Fusion and transferred to Kareo. The demos were very detailed and I trained externship students using them.. The previous software was antiquated since paper claims and EOB are being phased out to electronic. Payment can also be sent to bank drafts instead of checks and deposit hassles.

Reports and forms print accurately for Medicare, collection agencies and Crossover claims as well. In Kareo the e-claim scrubbing feature is efficient and great; I can correct and resend claims with the click of a button. I check the Payment Velocity to view A/P and A/R. The updates keep me current and ERA posting saves so much time instead of posting dozens of EOB's line by line. There are some times when I've been on the system for hours then a pop-up screen will stop the submitting process but I use Task Manager and it restores my screen. I contact customer supports chat system and have my questions answered or read the forum which is one of my favorite features. I encourage anyone opening a new office or just researching! Kareo is worth the try!!!

Pros: Ease of use and support. Online chat for support is great! They walk you through your solution. Love the claims aspect. Send claims and get reports back all in the same software.

Cons: The cases are a little hard to get used to and I wish you could switch claims from one case to another. But, after you get used to it - it's ok.

Pros: I have tried several different medical billing software programs. Kareo provides the best value and ease of use.

Cons: At times sales people answer help tickets. I have had some responses from people who obviously did not have a large amount of medical billing experience. I sometimes had to request help a second or third time.

Overall: I have used Kareo for over 10 years and consider Kareo an asset to any type of practice. As a former medical billing company owner, I found Kareo to be efficient, affordable and user friendly. From a business perspective Kareo added profit directly to my bottom line. Its application and ease of training created tremendous labor savings, improved productivity and provided a stable web based platform. Over the years I have watched Kareo grow. The company has continued to invest in its product and makes the necessary required improvements and enhancements to its software package. The added value of a free EHR makes Kareo a leader in the software market. Today, I work as an independent contractor and am still using Kareo.

Kareo has been quite a learning experience for me for over a year. Very advantageous in terms of ease of use and productivity. Above all, the ability to work from home and easy access from any computer -at any time -any part of the world -makes it more convenient than any other software.

Pros: The ease of use of Kareo makes it an easy decision in purchasing a web-based medical software program. From the sales staff to thhe implementation team to the consistent support from customers service,hands down a superior product. There is no other choice in products on the market that offer as much as Kareo does and stands behind their product after the purchase. Kareo also does not lock you into a contract, they are confident that you will stay and they make it easy if you should choose to leave. Kareo keep up the good work. I will never leave! Thank you for such a incredible software.

Cons: It is hard to come up with "cons". I would say the only cons that I could think of is that you are limited by your own ability to discover. There is so much that Kareo can do to make the process easy, you have to explore and talk. To customer support to see just how much you can do!!

Overall: Kareo is by far the best web-based software on the market! I have tried many, Kareo continues to surpass others products with the ease of use and the reporting processes. You will not be sorry when you give Kareo an opportunity to improve your overall billing processes!!

Pros: I started my own practice from scratch just a little under a year ago. As a solo practitioner, I had to keep costs contained yet be efficient at the same time. Kareo allowed me to do both. I looked at various EMRs and billing systems. In the end, I decided on Practice Fusion which integrates well with Kareo. With Kareo, I felt that the setup process with insurance companies and the clearinghouse was seamless. The Implementations Team was great in helping me navigate through the various features as a Kareo newbie. Once I got my feet wet and became more adept at using Kareo, they let me venture into the deeper waters on my own, still knowing that I had the support staff by my side if I ever needed it. Some of the features of Kareo that I especially like include the pay-as-you-go model (so that I never feel tied down), ERAs (makes posting payments very easy), running reports using various variables, and sending patient statements through Kareo with a click of the mouse.

Cons: Overall, no major cons to report.

Overall: I can access Kareo at home or in the office too--24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Here I am, almost a year out, very happy with my decision to have chosen Kareo and glad I didn't waste my time and money on other billing services.

Pros: Kareo's support staff have exceeded our expectations in customer service. The program is very user friendly and is a web based program so it can be accessed anywhere. Our billing to payment turnaround is about 17 days which is a huge improvement from our previous billing company.

Cons: So far, I have no complaints about Kareo or their product. They have met each one of our needs.

Overall: I would definitely recommend Kareo to any office who needs quick, accurate billing assistance.

Pros: Kareo is an amazing program with so many easy to use features. I work for a very busy medical billing office and we were recommended to use Kareo for its simplicity and user friendly features. The great part is that it is web based and there are no hidden fees on your monthly statement. It¿s so easy to submit claims with just a click of a button. No more creating files and uploading them to a clearinghouse, Kareo does that for you. Also, you can send patient statements as easy as 123. You are billed a flat rate and all the statements are sent automatically with a professional invoice to our patients. We love it. I have already recommended Kareo to a few of our providers and have signed up two. I will continue to do so.

Cons: The only issue I have is sometimes it is a little hard to receive phones calls back from our account rep.

Overall: LOVE IT. Would and am recommending this program to all our providers

The Wonderful World of Kareo

Pros: All of the information you need is only a click away. Billing out encounters is very simple; it is a three step process, mostly done electronically. Sending them electronically is so much more beneficial because you can track from start to finish where your claim is. The ease in which you can track your claim status, i.e. by pending claims, denied claims & rejected claims is phenomenal. Within the specific claim, there is a rejection message or denial message that tells you exactly why your claim is not processing and what you need to do to fix it. This saves time with not having to pick up the phone and call every insurance company. Our A/R was about 35% when I started in this practice. Within a few months I had the A/R to an outstanding 6%. I credit Kareo for a lot of this progress as the user friendly system allowed me to quickly sort through claims and process them. I strongly recommend Kareo to any offices in need of reliable, accurate, efficient billing software!

Cons: Learning a new program is never easy. It can be hard to learn how to use Kareo at first. But you get used it it and it is very beneficial!

Overall: Our office has been using Kareo billing Software since January 2010.

I was pleasantly surprised Early January this year by a phone call from Brett Evans from Kareo announcing that Kareo is giving it's customers the option of having their billing done in house by Kareo CRM.

This was great news to me and I did not hesitate to take up that offer not only because of the reasonable fees involved but also I was rest assured that I will have absolute control over the whole process with no change in the submitter ID, No interruption in the Billing cycle which meant of course no interruption in the Cash flow.

Today which is almost 2 months after My phone Call with Brett my collections have jumped up by 18% , my A/R appears to be dropping in the direction I need it to be and now the days my accounts A/R is around 19 days. Not only that now I can do more Procedures, acquire more patients and still spend more quality time with my family

Thanks a lot Kareo. Keep up the good work.

Pros: Kareo has saved me time and money and streamlined my back office procedures. I can now complete the job, that used to take several employees and weeks of work, in a couple of hours on my day off with a cup of coffee, some sunshine and fresh air. I love the monthly webinars on business topics and the emails on billing tips. I no longer have to waste CE hours on these topics as you guys provide them for free! I love the library of training videos and recorded webinars that allow me to easily refresh my memory on any topic at anytime. I love the ERA ability to one step post and the ability to attach copies of paper EOB's to payments so if there's ever any future questions, it's a simple matter to get the information. This has turned something that would take days worth of combing through paper files to a quick printout or emailing of the relevant documents. Combined with Practice Fusion, this is a no-brainer solution for any practice's EHR/office management needs.

Cons: I really can't thing of any Cons at the moment.

Overall: Would recommend for any small medical office.

Pros: As a biller, Kareo is such an intuitive software that when I first started using it I was able to figure out how to do most things without even watching the tutorials. When I did need help learning how to do something the tutorials were very helpful. I find posting payments very easy and clean. It is easy to see when a payment was made and where the payment came from. I also love how easy it is to send patient statements through Kareo's mailing service. I used to carefully print each statement and mail it with a personal note, but I have found that patients are much quicker to pay when they get the Kareo bill. Our front desk is beginning to use Kareo, and the other day as I showed one of them one of the things Kareo makes so easy, tracking authorizations, she turned to me and said, "I'm beginning to love Kareo as much as you do!"

Cons: Getting help with technical difficulties can be time consuming if you don't pay for the extra support. Once you get a chance to chat with the rep they are always polite and helpful.

Overall: I think Kareo is a great deal for the price!

Cons: It wold be nice to have an iPhone that could do some billing. It can manage a schedule.

Overall: As an organization providing therapy to hundreds of children weekly, we needed an effective web-based system and company that could handle our billing needs. We chose Kareo because of their fully secured web-based billing system, which allows us to manage claims while traveling and providing home-based therapy. Kareo has a competitive flat fee, and I know very well that other companies are adding additional fees for standard services, such as customer service, software updates, and training. We have seen an increase in collections by 8% during our first month of use and we anticipate a 20-25% increase in our third month. Ease of claim submission and claim tracking have cut down on our overall work load, allowing the system to do most of the leg work. Kareo is fully integrated into our EHR, allowing us to focus on quality services and not on claims. Kareo has world-class customer service and a state of the art interface. I highly recommend Kareo to all medical professionals.

Pros: Easy to use, efficient, seamless transformation from an outdated system to Kareo. We did not know what we were missing in our old billing system until we switched to Kareo. There customer support was excellent and their technical support were very professional and answered our questions very quickly. Switching from paper claims to electronic filing was very easy. This program allows us to verify eligibility and check claims status quickly which frees up hours of time spent wasted on the phone with insurance companies. Kareo's web based program allows us to access our accounts whenever and wherever we need to.

Cons: Entering payments for each individual charge was different than we were used to, however, that is how the insurance company's process the claims, so it made sense that the program was designed this way.

Overall: I would highly recommend Kareo's insurance billing system. Kareo has made filing claims so much easier and the turn around on claims is now only about 10 days and the program lets us know if a claim goes unpaid after 30 days. This is a great, efficient program and we are very satisfied with the progress we have made since we began using it.

Pros: It is very user friendly software as we can used it from anywhere. We can easily train others about all the process in this software.
We can view all the pending items in the home screen itself called TO-DO-LIST. So it is very transparent. Also we can easily all kind of reports thru Add-Ins facility. If there is any clarifications regarding rejection or any enrollment process then we can contact Kareo customer support thru live chat. It is one of the fastest way to clarify in timely fashion.

Cons: Although we have more option to get the clarification thru live chat or email, but for few cases we are unable to get proper response from the Kareo support thru live chat. Few of the Kareo support rep does not provide the sufficient info and they always suggest to check with EDI dept, but we can get the same clarifications from other rep.

Overall: We are expecting the reports by followup date in future implementation.

Overall: The main reasons we chose Kareo were: no cost to set up, affordable monthly plans to choose from and the user friendliness of the platform in general. Oh, and the great webinars and training tools right at your fingertips to watch anytime! We have been extremely happy with Kareo and now use it for multiple client accounts.

Once you have several accounts on Kareo, I particularly like the summary on the home page of the action items laid out per office when you open up the application. The reports are also very useful for tracking issues, pending claims, etc. Our company could not function without the robust reporting tools.

I plan to continue to use Kareo and to recommend it to any future prospective clients looking for a good application for billing. I also recommend it because of the integration with Practice Fusion, a free, ad-based EMR. Many clients feel that is a very good selling point. Free EMR, why, yes, thank you!

Pros: When I started at this practice 90 days ago there was not a practice management system in place..quickbooks on one computer ,,,very hard to trace what had billed, what had paid etc,..Started using Kareo 45 days ago...billing takes minutes not hours, Posting is so easy...Collections is a cinch,,,highly reccommend this software,..all the features that a large practice enjoys,

Cons: I have yet to see any...if you use it as it is meant to be used you will not have any cons.

Overall: Every aspect has been made easier...love it!!!

Overall: Kareo is on the cutting edge of how the healthcare system is to operate in the future. The future is truly happening now and through that, our office can easily integrate with our online cloud based EHR and quickly integrate with the ever-changing online insurance system. It is my belief that there is not a better option for office management, physician interaction, or a billing system in place that can house all the options in which Kareo is able to provide. The costs are unmatched for a small practice like mine, as it allows my staff to focus on delivering fantastic customer service without having to worry with how complex a billing or office management system could effect them each day. The customer service from Kareo is unprecedented, as it has allowed me to have my staff watch online videos to prepare them for any questions or changes that may require my help, and this in turn allows me to do what I love and that's helping patients recover from injury.

Pros: My practice's cash flow has improved by 90%!

Kareo is extremely user-friendly for someone like me who had no previous billing experience.My cash flow has improved by 90%. We're now receiving insurance payments within two to three weeks and there have been almost no rejected claims that have been outstanding for more than one month. The support staff and the training videos are extremely helpful when implementing your practice information into the software. I can do the practice's billing from any location since it is web-based. It has given me the control I needed with respect to getting payments as quickly as possible from the insurance companies.

Cons: The only negative side is that for larger practices with more than five providers that you are billing under, it becomes costly to pay the monthly pricing per provider. It would be good if Kareo could implement a monthly price for practices or billing services that have five or more billing providers.

Overall: I would highly recommend Kareo. It is user-friendly, convenient since it is web-based, and it is efficient. I will never look for another billing service or billing software again.

Pros: I love Kareo. We started with the program and were given a Success Coach. This is a specific person to call with all your needs as you start using the program for your practice. If he wasn't immediately available, he returned my call shortly and helped with the problem. I always felt backed up as I started billing for our practice. Being a new company, it was very important for the claims to start processing smoothly from the beginning.

Kareo also provides online webinars which can answer so many questions. They give some great tips as you are learning the program and answer questions you haven't even thought to ask yet.

Cons: The worst thing about Kareo is that more offices aren't using it!

Overall: Kareo is a wonderful product with an excellent support team. I hope more offices find out about it and make the transition in their billing departments. It makes my job so much easier.

Pros: This software is straightforward and logical. It has the ability to give access or restrict depending on the user which keeps better control. The webinars are in laymans terms and directs you step by step how to set up the practice. The implementation webinars explain in the same manner. This software has a great reporting section which gives you the ability to generate any report using thousands of different parameters. Being web based gives employees the freedom to work from any computer with internet service which helps to cut loss of productivity.

Cons: I did have a slight difficulty with my implementation but by calling support, it turned out I had taken down some information out of order. They were able to quickly identify the problem and help me get back on track.

Overall: I would recommend this software to all medical practices as this company listens to the customer and is always striving to stay ahead of health care reform (and is doing a good job at it).

Pros: Very easy to use, convenient, reliable.

Cons: Although customer support has been quite helpful, being in Hawaii, there is somewhat of a delay in assistance and not any real immediate help. A minor set back. However, with that said, there are a ton of videos and a peer support system always available, around the clock online.

Overall: I would definitely recommend Kareo, I've used it for years and I have no intention of changing. I've seen this company make tremendous growth over the years and I hope to support for the amazing future that I know will be up ahead.

Cons: None that I can think of.

Overall: I have used numerous Practice Management programs over many years and I switched to Kareo after using a served based program. I love that I can log on from anywhere and that my clients can, too. Kareo is a month to month and no contract basis software that is easy on my wallet. I can literally teach someone to use the program in a day plus they have training videos for free.for refreshers. This program makes my job easier to do. What more can I ask?
