Comments: When I decided to use a practice management system for my private practice, there were so many options out there. Overwhelming really. After a colleague recommendation, I chose CounSol.com because it had a secure client portal, a secure video session portal, and a secure email/journal area. I feel safe having my client's use the portal. My clients love their text reminders and individualized portal area. I love that I can keep all my client information in one place rather than have papers and information spread everywhere. It is simplicity at it's finest. Thank you!

Pros: Video portal, simple to follow and use. Organized.

Cons: I hope to see a clear, easy way to submit client's super bill receipt to their insurance company if I need too. Video could be better quality.

Comments: I have been using CounSol for a couple years now. It has saved me a tremendous amount of time. Notes are faster, sharing records is faster, clients schedule themselves. I love that I can create my own forms. I love that I can see how many sessions I have in any given period of time and compare performance from year to year. Customer service has been very responsive. They have even created a fix in the software when I needed it to do something that wasn't already in the programming. I have been very happy with the service and plan to continue using it!

Pros: Ease of use, flexibility

Cons: There are time when I wish it could do more things. For example, on the progress note, I would like to completely customize the assessment, symptom description, and interventions sections.

Comments: I am in private practice, and did not want the expense of an office manager. When I found Counsol I was more than excited as it was an office manager, and so much more. I love that we do not have to have paper files, and we no longer have the expense of needing extra storage. All of my fellow practitioners use Counsol and love it. Our clients often remind us how they like that they can book online, cancel and reschedule without having to wait for a call back. It has saved our practice a lot of money and time as it caters to our every need. Thank you Counsol for putting such a great program together. I honestly do not know what we would do without it.

Pros: Booking Online, Invoicing, and that my files are all in one spot

Cons: I think because we are in Canada some of the information does not relate to us across the border. It is also costs more money then other programs I have seen and it would be great if there was a better bundle plan for clinics that have many clinicians. The feedback from my staff has been that when they need assistance or help it has been difficult to get immediate assistance, or no follow through. They end up figuring it out, but it would be nice if there was a call in number for general questions or assistance perhaps.

Recommendations to other buyers: It is great for psychologists to use, but in my office I have a speech therapist and a Occupational therapist it would be great if it could serve multiple disciplines but I understand it is Psychology based. ***The biggest thing I do not like is if I am working with a family they have to each register, I can link them but in terms of invoicing and marriage counselling sometimes couples get upset that they have todo the process for each individuals. It would be great if they only needed to do it once, and there spouse of child was attached and you could click on their name for insurance purposes. I don't know if that makes sense, but that is one complaint I get a lot from couples and families as sometimes I see three of their children and they find it time time consuming to do each child separate versus being able to put a family or couple together somehow. My colleague only does psychological assessment and it is difficult to invoice for this as well.

Comments: It took me some time to settle on a practice management software and I have no regrets about my choice. I have been using CounSol for over a year now. Pros: Allows for HIPAA compliant electronic communication, scheduling is easy, a journalling feature that clients enjoy, electronic billing straight from the software is easy, automated reminders. Too many to name.

Cons: When I have to print out progress notes they take up a lot of paper - not sure how that could be more efficient but I really have no regrets with this software.

Recommendations to other buyers: If you are interested in telemedicine and an integrated video platform, this is the choice for you.

Comments: Counsol.com has been able to make starting my own practice seamless. I have been a user for three years and it is a great investment. The features that I needed they added for me with amazing personal service! It allows clients to complete all their paperwork before our first session so it is more productive and not just forms. It keeps me organized and allows me to offer communication to clients between sessions through HIPPA secure journaling and email. User friendly with computer, phone and tablet!

Pros: Very Visual and easy to navigate. You can choose what features to use and not use through your settings- very personalized.

Comments: My clients love how easy it is for them to book their appointments. I appreciate the ease in which my clients can move appointments around. It has reduced my no shows due to sending out reminders. This service acts as my receptionist.

Recommendations to other buyers: I would love it if their was a feature for clients to put themselves on a waiting list for cancellations.

Comments: I picked Counsol instead of other EHR solutions mainly because of its simplicity and capacity for customization. It was also an affordably priced option. Each time I have needed something or had questions the company has been responsive to my needs. Indeed, the software keeps getting better and better. It is flexible and intuitive and offers what I need to make sure my clinical records are in good shape.

To anyone considering whether to switch from paper, do not give it one more moment of thought, just do it! I cannot imagine ever returning to having to keep paper records. For starters, I can be certain that the basic details of my clinical record (e.g. dates of service, charges, basic demographic info) are always in place. Secondly, I cansecurely write a progress note from my home computer without having to illegally take a paper record out of the locked office.

The best feature: text message and email appointment reminders. I get almost zero no-shows these days. Before I started with Counsol I would often encounter either people forgetting their appointments or confusion about the time. All of that has disappeared. Clients can go online to remind themselves of when their next appointment is scheduled, and they start getting reminders for their upcoming appointment a day in advance. I still get some cancellations of course, but the decrease in no-shows alone pays for the service each month.

Another great feature: When I take on a new client I send them a link to my secure website and have them fill out my intake paperwork and sign my disclosure electronically before I ever see them. No paper to take up precious session time, and the clients love it.

Cons: Counsol doesn't have the complexity of some of the other systems and doesn't offer as many checklists. There are times here and there where I can't easily figure out the best approach to a particular type of documentation. I am actually still experimenting with how best to do treatment planning and my intake process. However, that's probably more my indecision than the software, because they have without complaint uploaded any form I have ever given them into an electronic form I can use in the system.

Comments: I have utilized this software for almost two years and it has become a staple in my day to day operations. Clients who were with me during my previous software and new clients alike thank me often for the appointment reminder feature. I love the patient portal and client's ability to manage their own appointments without contacting me first. The added benefit of having an online journal and mail system has been very helpful. Being a solo provider, it definitely assists with decreasing the number of calls I have to return. Although it doesn't have the added functionality of billing, I am told it's in the works. My account manager (jonathan) has been extremely helpful and prompt with answering any and all of the questions over the past two years. I recommend it for clinicians who see patients in office or online/phone.

Comments: We have been using CounSol for almost two years. Compared to the old scheduling program we were using, CounSol is SUCH a BREEZE!!!!! It's very user friendly, easy to manuever around for setting up new accounts, billing, scheduling, all of it!!! Their customer service is GREAT! They always return my calls promptly and most times when I call in, they actually answer the call. I have never had to wait long to get answers to my questions. Our Account Rep. (Jonathan) is wonderful to work with. He is always very friendly, courteous and willing to help and listen to new ideas I suggest for the program. Several I suggested have now been implemented. It's nice to know they listen to their customers and their needs. My employer and I both love CounSol. I am so glad we made the switch.

Comments: I have been so happy with CounSol.com. It's easy to use (with a slight learning curve) and the customer service is great (Jonathan at tech support always responds promptly and is super helpful)! My clients appreciate features like the session reminders and the ability to download their involves from home. It's also the only product that I found that allows for encrypted video conferencing which has helped me reach more clients. Can't recommend this product highly enough!

Comments: Initially I used the software mainly for the text appointment reminders. My clients love this feature. Now I use all of the features of the program, except the billing program. Even then, the ease in which I stay organized with my client's appointments has helped me bill more accurately. The program automatically logs my hours, so my bookkeeper quickly notices discrepancies in my reported hours and what CounSol records. My experience with customer service has also been exceptional. I am very happy with my decision to chose CounSol over other programs that I tested. I highly recommend CounSol.com

Comments: On several occasions I have researched the software packages designed for a private practice. I have found CounSol to be the most powerful and practical counseling tool on the market. Pros: CounSol seems to be running on a reliable and stable server, that is to say I have never had the software crash on me while using it. From setting up a new client, scheduling appointments, reminders, sending secure messages, progress notes and treatment plans, I've found it to be very helpful in its design. Cons: It is great for super billing and invoices, but my accountant would like a better sales report. With that said, I have yet to find a software program that is everything I want from the clinical side and financial side. Overall I am very pleased with CounSol and have no plans to ever stop using it, and highly recommend this software to all clinicians.

Comments: First the pros: I chose Counsol.com after comparing and trying out similar services. I ultimately chose Counsol because of the fully integrated platform it offered (ability to process payments, online scheduler, secure video/chat platforms, etc.) Considering Counsol.com offers all these implements at HIPAA compliant levels made it a no-brainer for me. My clients repeatedly comment on the ease of use from their end, and are also appreciative of the convenience it affords them in terms of contacting the office (virtually) when it's easiest for them, and knowing those communications are secure. The option of requiring entry of a credit card to access the functionality of online scheduling for clients (most specifically new clients) would reduce "no shows" if that is an issue.

Cons: the system often seems cumbersome on the practice end. It often seems to me there would be much easier (read streamlined) ways to accomplish many tasks. Additionally, while you can utilize attachments to send to your clients, there is no way for your client to return those to you electronically. Example: because my Intake forms are so specific, it makes far more sense for me to send them as an attachment to new clients for completion. As it currently stands, the client must then print them out and return a hard copy--basically defeating the purpose of an electronic medical record. There is an option to build "Forms", but again, that would be so labor intensive and could not actually replicate my current forms--which were crafted with purposeful specificity--that forms are not a feasible option. Even the ability to add forms via upload would be a huge improvement!

This is less of a Con and more of a glitch: if clients want to utilize their HSA or FSA card for payment purposes, they cannot through this system. What I've been able to gather so far is that this is secondary to how Counsol is listed/appears on the back end as a product. Attempted transactions on Counsol.com are declined because Counsol appears as "software" or a software product, and since you can't use an HSA/FSA card to purchase software (or anything other than immediately identifiable health care costs), each transaction is declined. I have another payment method available while inside my office, but again, this largely defeats the purpose and keeps this platform from being fully and independently online operationally.

Comments: I've used Counsel.com for going on three years now and I am very satisfied with it. The staff are very responsive when I have questions and need assistance. They will even created customized online forms for me. Though the site isn't as intuitive as I might like sometimes, once I learned how to use it, it's made managing my private practice much easier. I haven't had any complaints from clients about the online portal. Mostly I just hear how easy it is for clients to complete their paperwork before they arrive, communicate with me securely, and utilize the journal function to stay connected between sessions. If there's a downside to Counsel, it would be if you take insurance. Other services more easily integrate billing insurance, but my colleagues who use those services, often complain about what they don't have that I do because I use Counsel.com.

There have been times when I have been 'stuck' on how to use it but then Customer Service demonstrates its speed, reliability and support. Jonathan is my CounSol Rep and he is very responsive to questions and requests for updates to the program. There is not integration of electronic insurance billing, but it is my understanding that this is in the works and due out very soon. I am a very satisfied customer of CounSol!

Comments: The website is easy to use and wonderful forms and capability to make your own forms. I love how they look when you print them. The only thing I would love is if there was the ability to work wth psyquel.com to have everything mental health counselor would need. Psyquel website is much less easy to use, but it comes wth billing help. I wish it was all on the counsol website but had the billing capabilities and service of psyquel.com. Service has been phenomenal from both places. Anytime I need a change to my info they change it in a day or less! I have also felt that this site has saved me time and money in so many ways.

Comments: Counsol has everything I need for my private practice. The learning curve is not very steep -- you can start right away and it walks you right through the basic aspects. Beyond that, the customer service team is the very best part of this service: They are always available, very patient, and super-helpful. The only con is that the billing part can be a little difficult when there is something not totally straightforward -- like an insurance snafu. But otherwise, this is a great way to keep records, and I have been very pleased with it.

Comments: I've been using Counsol for about 3 years now and it has streamlined my practice and saves me so much time. My clients frequently tell me how much they love the appointment reminders. Most of my clients keep a credit card on file and with a simple click the credit card is charged and invoice paid. I can now bill my weekly clients in about 5 minutes. My practice is now paperless and all my notes are kept online. It is a very easy program to use and the customer service is prompt and very helpful! I always recommend Counsol to my colleagues looking to use an online program.

Comments: I use CounSol.com as my scheduling system, client database, online payment portal, and more. My clients love being able to schedule, pay, and get appointment reminders online and via text. It's been great to be able to direct new clients to the online portal to register and fill out intake forms. I also like being able to create my own forms for session notes or screening tools. The online video is sometimes glitchy, and it would be nice to be able to submit claims directly to the insurance companies, but other than that I love the service. Customer service has also always been personal and responsive. I recommend CounSol.com to colleagues regularly.

Comments: I'm very glad that I found Counsol when I first started my Private Practice. I am a solo practitioner and needed a system that offered multiple functions. With Counsol, I have one location where I can securely communicate with my clients, either in writing or by video conferencing. Although I don't see clients exclusively online, it is a great addition to be able to meet remotely when needed. In addition, the reminder function is incredibly helpful. It keeps my no show rate to a minimum. It also keeps all of my billing and contact information in one place and secure, accessible from the cloud and from any device. If I need assistance, the tech support people respond quickly and efficiently.

Downsides: few. At times, the connection for video conferencing can be spotty, but this is more the fault of the internet connection at either end. There is no way to access billing insurance companies thru Counsol, but I am strictly private pay so that doesn't matter to me. There are many companies that you can access to bill a credit card, but I use Square, and there is no link for this one company. Again, not a big deal, as I can swipe the card using my phone or iPad.

Overall, a great experience, and I highly recommend it!

Comments: I have used counsol.com for a few years now. I began using the product when I journeyed out on my own to private practice. Customer service at counsol.com helped me put ALL of my paperwork online so my patients don't have to sit in a waiting room filling out very personal information with strangers sitting next to them. The scheduling is better at keeping track of appointments and reminders than I am. I often tell other therapists that counsol.com is busier than I am at keeping my schedule in line! I have had a dramatic decrease in "no-show" appointments, know in advance if patients are planning on attending their sessions as they are using the "confirm session" function through the scheduling, and I am notified when a new message comes through to me from a patient immediately. These are only a few of the factors that I continue to use the counsol.com product. Simply put, the software is easy to use, and packs a lot of punch. Comments: CounSol.com makes practice management much simpler and easier for the solo mental health practitioner. I enjoy that clients can schedule and cancel appointments, and that I have control around how that is done, as well as receive appointment reminders via e-mail, text message, and/or phone call. Further, being able to share (or not) documents, and communicate between sessions, with clients is a plus. When my client or me travels, the ability to have a video session is a plus. Keeping track of payments, and the ability to provide a superbill is "super." Further, having the treatment plan integrated into the progress note is phenomenal; my desire for such an ability stopped when I found this product.

It would be a nice feature for CounSol.com to be able to be configured for practices where there is more than one practitioner. Instruction manuals for practitioners and clients would also be helpful, as there is more to this product than meets the eye.

Comments: I have been using Counsol for two and a half years and I love it. It is easy enough to use and almost every single client has commented on how much they like the automated reminders. Very few of them want appointment cards, they just wave those off and say "Your system will let me know." I believe that the reminders have reduced my no-show or late cancellations dramatically.

On the few times I have had an issue, the Counsol customer service is very responsive...most of the time the issue is "user error" with training needed on my side, but when it isn't, they have made corrections or repairs very quickly. Also, the CounSol folks seem very receptive to user input and continue to make positive changes and additions on a regular basis.

The interface is fairly intuitive and easy to use. Sometimes it takes a little work to get the program to fit with what you want it to do...for example, I had trouble figuring out how to have profiles for several children in one family, because each profile needs a different email address. The CounSol people will work with you to figure out a 'fix.'

I'm very satisfied with CounSol and have recommended them to several colleagues.

Comments: For me, Counsol is not an option. It IS a requirement! I hardly EVER have a no-show anymore. COUNSOL'S reminder feature helps clients not only show up, but be on time. Comments: From day one, my account manager at counsol has been on top of things, offering to help me with setting up my site and even personalize it for me with some forms I needed added. They have always been extremely responsive to any questions I have had and when making suggestions on how to improve the functionality I have always felt like they were listening but and have seen many updates that have addressed some of these suggestions. My clients find the site to be extremely user friendly and I rarely have any issues with clients who have trouble with logging in. Many of my clients love the journaling option and most of them use the online scheduling feature. I have done a lot of research on options for my practice, both at the beginning and a pet other times since I have been in practice and nothing I have found comes close to the value and excellent product provided by counsol. I definitely recommend their product and find it to be very easy to use and yet very powerful.

Comments: I really like Counsol.com and have been using it since 2013. I am a busy private practice clinical psychologist who abhors the administrative side of clinical work. Counsol sends text messages, emails and phone call reminders to clients the day appts are made and the day before which greatly reduces client no shows. It has also reduced my expenses of business card/appt reminders, which was a pleasant surprise. Counsol also allows clients to set their appointments (if you want them to be able to), which I find handy - - you can set it up where clients can schedule hours in advance or only days in advance. The ability to customize the site to allow clients as much or as little access is helpful to me. My colleague wants to set her own schedule and her counsol is personalized to allow her more control. My clients also use a journal feature that allows clients to write journal entries and either share them w/ me or keep them private. This allows me to track their internal processing and see more of their day to day life. The customer service for me has been wonderful. Help was provided when uploading and creating forms to utilizing forms already on counsol. I also like that I can give my biller access to Counsol, and she can track copayments. Areas of growth for this company would be to add diagnosis and copay features on clients' face sheets along with the ability to download and print multiple progress notes at one time. Presently you have to go into their treatment section to get that info. Counsol staff have been open to feedback and make frequent upgrades to their system based on feeback. I am pleased with this EHR service and plan to continue to use them.

Comments: I have been using Counsol.com for my practice for over two years. As a Licensed Clinical Psychologist with two locations I needed a flexible system that I could access from anywhere. In my career I have used three different EMR, most were to expensive and complicated for a solo practitioner. Counsol offers the simplicity that a small business needs, with the comprehensiveness that it also needs. I tried several other programs and liked Counsol the best. My patients overall love the patient portal and use it regularly for scheduling, paying and printing invoices and updating me on their progress between sessions in the journal. They love the text messages and emails when appointments are scheduled and reminders before appointments.

I had a few problems with the program when I first started. These were mostly operator error. When I called my customer service rep, Jonathan, I always had an answer within a few hours. Since starting, the system has never been down or non-functioning. I suggested changes and the developers integrated them into the program. Amazing customer service.

Comments: I've been using CounSol since 2012. I'm a single practioner, but am considering expanding in the near future. I recently surveyed several other practice software platforms, and I decided to stay with CounSol. I find that I have everything I need pretty much at hand. Comments: I have been with CounSol.com since sometime in 2011 and haven't looked back. The team is both responsive and proactive. I have a dedicated customer service representative that I can reach whenever I have a need and he already knows my history with the company. He will sometimes contact me in advance when they are developing a new resource to ask questions and make sure they get it just right for the counselor's needs. They are not interested in in creating a program and leaving it, but are invested in the whole process of making the best possible product.

I would say the biggest pros are:
- Customer Service
- Billing tools - easy to automatically bill the customer and get invoices paid, and to keep track of partial payments like copays. You can assign payments to specific sessions, which also helps for record-keeping purposes.
- Customization of forms - in addition to intake forms I have created secure forms for billing information and worksheet-style forms that my clients can fill out for homework.
- Mobile design is really easy to use and helps to take notes on the go.

Cons:
- The scheduling tool can take a while to figure out, and I'm spoiled by the drag-and-drop options of Google Calendar, which it can't do yet!
- I wish it was integrated with Square payment tools. I use the PayPal integration as well but I would prefer I could do both!

However, that is something that could change in the future, so check back!

Overall, I'm happy with it and everyone I've recommended it to has seemed satisfied as well.

Comments: I have been using CounSol for 2 years and am very happy with both the functionality and the customer service.
The major selling points for me were the inclusion of client self-scheduling (with a friendly and non-buggy user interface), secure messaging, appointment reminders via email and text at no extra cost, and inclusion of schedule, clinical records, and payment records in one user interface.
Most of my clients really like the client portal and prefer to manage their appointments online versus making a phone call. One reviewer complained that it's a long process to get a client started, but the system provides a lot of options in terms of what the client is required to complete upon login, so I don't know if that is really a credible complaint. However, when a client comes in and needs to complete forms, it would be nice if I could allow the initial access to the portal without requiring them to access email for the login link.
I am happy with Stripe.com for credit card processing and have not had any problems with the interface or integration between Stripe and CounSol. It is very easy to apply payments to invoices and it is nice that they now have an option to cancel an appointment but still leave the invoice active for late cancel and no-show fees.
Setting available hours is not as intuitive as other parts of the system. It is set up to provide a high level of control over what clients are allowed to self-schedule, and once it is set up it works fine.
There is a timezone setting for each client, so if you are doing phone or video sessions, the system will send out reminders with the time listed in the client's timezone which is super helpful for those of us licensed in multiple states.
Creating new forms is very cumbersome, but my service rep Jonathan was very helpful in uploading my forms so I just used the form creator to make small adjustments.
I have a practice with several contract therapists and there is no option for one master admin account, but we are a small enough practice that we have been able to work around that limitation.
The development team does a good job of making sure they have tested things thoroughly before rolling out new functionality and to date I have not seen any bugs introduced with an update (a major feat in the "get it out quick" software world). The team has also been very accommodating in making minor tweaks that help improve usability.

Comments: I have been using counsel.com for the past couple of years and have been very satisfied with the features and even more satisfied with the customer service. For example, I had a client working on filling out a form and accidentally close the page before saving. I expressed a need for an autosave feature on the forms and within an amazingly short period of time, auto-save for the forms was a reality. They seem to really care about the user experience and the more input we are able to offer, the more adjustments that are able to be made to benefit all of the users.
Like any system (I actually access from a PC, MAC, my iPAD, and my iPhone), it has its nuances that you need to get used to. There are a lot of customizable settings that allow for forms to be required or optional and such.
I find it best if I set up the clients and allow the system to send out the welcome email with the temporary username and password. I just add their name, email, and cell number. The client logs in and fills out all of their information on their own.
Clients LOVE the self-scheduling option that is available through the client portal. I also make tremendous use of the client email and the journaling options that allows for the client to journal either privately, or share their journals with me to be able to read between sessions.
Being self-pay, the system billing has been everything I needed with the integration to PayPal and merchant services. I can also customize rates for different services and for different clients as well as adjust the rate when I am doing the scheduling if I don't want to use the default rate that was set.
I have enjoyed this service and the price is very competitive.

Comments: I've spend several hours using this software and will likely cancel my membership. They don't offer a free trial, just a money-back guarantee. It has a lot of great features that other programs don't have (including a client portal, journal, plus an included directory listing). However the interface isn't that easy to navigate and looks like it was designed for Windows XP. I found the client registration and scheduling tedious. I didn't like the overall registration hoops each prospective client would have to jump through just to schedule their first session.

When I first found CounSol, I didn't realize what a gem it was - it was pretty good but.. the constant updates, the personal service when you have a question, the continued excellence┬┐ just can't be beat. Comments: I have been using the CounSol program for about 2 years. I consult with other psychotherapists as they work toward certification in EMDR (a trauma treatment). I was very pleased with the speed of the service and the assistance in getting the site set up. My clients can pay with a credit card and schedule their own appointments in my calendar. Appointment reminders are sent automatically. The video sessions are very useful, even for the clients who live in the area, as it allows them to have the face to face connection without driving through the traffic.

Comments: I looked at a number of different EHR's before choosing Counsol and it really meets my needs well for an affordable price. I'm very glad that I chose it. Customer support is great and very quick to get back to you. They are also actively engaged in adding new features regularly, and they are very open to customer feedback about possible changes/additions to the software. I like that I can sync my smart phone calendar and know when I have an appointments (with no protected health information disclosed of course - it just shows client number on my phone), the interface works well on traditional computers and is now also optimized for portable devices. The one additional feature that I would like to see would be the addition of group practice accounts (while I don't need this now, I have plans for it in the future). However, Counsol seems to have listened to feedback and I believe they are working on adding this feature in the future. I believe they are also working on adding insurance billing, though I am strictly out of network, so this does not impact me.

My clients sometimes find it a bit tedious to sign up and to sign in and schedule. That being said, clients can be in stress and thus, flustered or distracted during these processes.
Pro's.
Too many to mention though the treatment plans, notes, chat options and video are all big boosts. I also am very happy with the pricing for these options plus the obvious scheduling.
Many of my clients enjoy knowing that they can have reoccurring appointments and, it is very possible to have group programs.
Overall, it gives me a near paperless eco-office while keeping my clients who are tech-friendly, very happy.
For those who are not techies, most often much older clients; all of my forms can be easily printed for them to fill out on their own.

Comments: CounSol is a great comprehensive practice management choice for progressive therapists. It offers HIPPA-compliant video counseling and private chat features. The client reminders are great and a part of the regular monthly subscription price. A checklist is offered to walk you through the online set-up and the customer service is responsive and effective. Also offers assessment and access to intake paperwork through secure client portal.
Cons are that no free trial period is offered prior to signing up and clicking through to a few of the features, such as progress note links, is not as logical/easy as it could be. However, CounSol is regularly making updates to features, based on customer feedback.

Comments: After having used another practice management software, I changed over from therapynotes to counSol because of the patient portal which allows for online registration when you are not available for direct phone calls. The text, phone, and email reminders alone make this the system of choice for me. The additional secure journal and capabilities for online therapy really make it stand out. The main downside is the lack of billing integration, but the other system I used made it so expensive per claim that I still had to do it myself anyways. So it made the decision pretty easy. My clients all have love the reminders and journal. One of my favorite features are the ability to have your new referrals register online (but you can also do this for them over the phone) and credit card processing which takes away from your administration time. Over all, I'm very happy with the switch.

Comments: I love CounSol.com. It is a very reasonable rate for what you get. I decided on it after seeing good reviews on a blog. I do not have the feature for online sessions set up, but wanted that available to me in case I decided to do this in the future.
It pays for itself by presenting no-shows. My clients love the texts/emails they receive regarding their appointments. I have had so many people tell me that without it, they would have missed the appointment.
I have also saved time and money on sending out packets prior to sessions, as I usually did, so that clients had a lot of time to spend on their pre- session BIO form for example. Now they can just do them on CounSol.com.
My personal assistant - Yes you have your own!!- is so helpful if I have questions or concerns about anything to do with CounSol. This is an awesome customer service feature. Someone actually answers the phone or emails you in a timely manner regarding your concerns!!!
It is also very helpful with keeping track of data- sessions, dates, all of that- in one place.
Also, they keep adding great new items.
Cons: I am not thrilled with the Progress Note or Treatment Plan templates, but can create my own. Wish they had a few more to choose from that were already set up.
Otherwise, it is simple and easy to use. Great customer service. I wish I had had it when I first started in practice!!!

Comments: I have used this software for the past 17 months after trying several others. This was by far the best in terms of affordability and number of features. Your clients have the option of having their own unique portal where they can schedule appointments, print invoices, complete intake forms and send you messages securely. Even if they don't take advantage of the portal, the program will send them email, text or voice reminders of their appointments. This has significantly reduced no shows. Progress notes, treatment plans and billing is included. Software has lots of flexibility in terms of setting fees, customizing forms such as intake and consent forms and the customer service is very responsive. I would highly recommend this software.

Cons: A manual or more comprehensive support section would be helpful to learn the program. It took me a little while to take advantage of all the features.
