Pros

RealTime offers many possibilities to manage costs for extrustion mfg. Still learning and testing many areas. EDI offers great flexibility and production for customers and vendors.

Cons

We have many 3 step extrusion processes that have made IQMS challenging for us.

Pros

-Single point for data collection and analysis. The system ties Manufacturing and SO through Cash Recipes all together in a fully integrated package.
-Go live was relatively painless and our employees picked up the system very quickly.
-Support has been responsive and friendly.

Cons

- Although we did achieve our overall goals for our implementation, the initial phase of implementation was a rocky and disorganized.
-Financial reporting is very weak. We had more visibly with our old Peachtree system.
-Manual posting of transactions is very time consuming and cumbersome.
-There are a lot of canned reports in the system but most require some level of customizing to be of any use.

Overall

We are still in the early stages with the system (< 6 months), so far it looks like the system is going to meet all our needs. We expect that the abundance of features and modules will support us as our company grows.

Pros

Everything flows together smoothly. Being able to jump from one screen to another is a great help. I like the color codes in different area especailly the scheduling module that let's you know if there are issues just by looking at the screen and being able to right click to see what material are needed right from the schedule.

Cons

You can't change class after entering an item. we need more customization on PO's. The shop calendar portion is a nighmare - there are a few presses that we will want to run 2 or 3 shifts for several weeks and I have to manually go enter the time off for each day for those presses, very time consuming. I have not found a good efficiency report that is broken down by operator. Cycle counting is another area that is not user friendly in IQ.

Overall

IQ is the best software that I have used - it takes a while to learn and understand, but once you have it figured out it is amazing everything you can do.

Pros

- Jump-to functionality makes drilling down to the answer easy and quick.

Cons

- Honestly I do not see anything within the system that I would label as a Con.

Overall

We firmly believe that the purchase and installation of EnterpriseIQ has been an integral part of allowing DCMC to set the standard in "How Short Run is Done". The fully integtrated ERP functionality has allowed us to manage the complexity of the short run injection molding business allowing DCMC to grow profitably. Our business has grown nearly 50% since 2001 and we have added very little indirect support staff becuase of the benefits of EnterpriseIQ.

Pros

very interactive, modules feed information to each other. IQ tends to be open to suggestions. the user group is a very good tool for learning of new modules and networking to find ideas from other IQ customers.

Cons

quoting module is cumbersome when dealing with multi-level quotes. jobs which have post molding steps such as inserting, sonic welding, etc. and jobs which have outsource steps require multiple steps to quote. our quoting department does not do quoting in IQ due to this.
schedule update is a problem when you have eplants in different time zones. there needs to be a way to have eplants run separate updates. otherewise, some plants have schedule updates in the middle of a shift rather than at the beginning.

Overall

i have recommended this software to many people and potential IQ customers over the years. i will continue to do so.

Pros

IQMS provides information at every step of our business, from raw materials to shipped product and from prospect to repeat customer.

Customizable user fields and user forms allow us to adjust the system to fit our processes, rather than the other way around.

Because IQMS data resides in the well-known and well-documented Oracle database, custom reports, data-mining, and intelligent read-only extensions are a breeze.

IQMS also continues to add value to our business by being very receptive to user requests for software changes, and has provided multiple upgrades to allow us to utilize more features of the software and make our processes as efficient as possible.

Cons

Updates are monolithic and, while providing great value in terms of new features, can cause unintended consequences. Due to their scope, they are difficult to fully test before implementation.

The software is more focused on the plastics industry than others in the manufacturing sections and it took a lot more effort during implementation to understand and setup the software correctly.
The security administration is not the most intuitive, and needs to be reviewed after each upgrade.

User licenses are expensive and add to yearly costs.

Overall

IQMS provides us with a flexible infrastructure that let???s us not only track vital information, but to truly use that information to better our business. Using IQMS, we have greater understanding of our business, leading to faster and more profitable performance.

Pros

With the depth of features, EnterpriseIQ provides solutions to meet most any challenge. Most users will find that the numbers of features and adaptability will far exceed typical demands. User input solicitation by IQ and an active user group provide a strong backbone of communication and support.

Each new release of EnterpriseIQ extends capabilities and versatility without compromising functionality and ease of use. On rare occasions requiring problem-solving support, IQ is quick, thorough, and professional with their response.

Cons

While standard reports are adequate for many users, generating custom SQL reports may take the average user signifcant time to master. Similarly, security within EnterpriseIQ is versatile and customizable, but tailoring specific security needs can be time consuming.

Overall

EnterpriseIQ provides an excellent foundation for information systems supporting manufacturing operations. I would recommend this software to anyone in the plastic molding industry, and would go as far as to say that you in order to succeed, you need this product.

Pros

Features and capabilities are endless. New software updates keep advancing the technology. Between the users group, CRM site, and tech support, addressing any issues is made easy. External documents feature make it easy to track all the details of projects, emails, PM work orders, BOM's, and many others. Alerts can be set automate tasks, throw constraints to tooling, customer service, maintenance, scheduling, etc.

Cons

Not really a con for the software itself; however you may find yourself blaming the software for something not functioning the way you think it should, and you have to learn to ask yourself the question, " is this an IQ problem or is this an us problem." Don't get caught in the trap of thinking new software will fix all problems. You may have breakdowns in your own processes that need attention; use IQ as a tool to make them better.

Overall

During implementation, keep an open mind that no software on the market will fit your organization perfectly. IQ comes very close. They listen to their users and make improvements on a regular basis. I highly recommend IQMS software.

Pros

Establishing database was fairly easy. We used a combination of manual entry and importing data directly. System is user friendly and even those with limited or no ERP experience can pick it up quickly. Both off site training and on site consultants were good resources for getting the system up and running. IQMS personnel were interested in us succeeding and stayed involved through the implementation process. Follow up issues (after implementation) were handled promptly and professionally. I never felt during the process that we wouldn't get the help we needed. Their consultants have "real world" experience which is very beneficial. Because of it's scalability we will likely never need another ERP solution.

Cons

Not many. When I first looked at IQMS I was concerned that a company our size (we have 15 employees) that we wouldn't have the horsepower to handle the system but so far that has not been the case. Sometimes on site consultant availability can be an issue and if you are on a limited budget the expense of travel can be significant if you do not have someone who is available in your immediate area.

Overall

My overall recommendation is very high. IQMS is a very professional organization that understands our industry and has developed software to meet our needs without a concern of resorting to customization or other expensive add-ons to reach a successful outcome.

Pros

Truly a fully integrated system that allows users with the minimum amount of training to become proficient in a very short time. The ability to jump between modules without exiting the system is lean and effective.

A visible and effective tool that is tailor made to cope with all the ???quirks??? of Injection Moulding in a highly competitive environment. Users have all the information they need at their fingertips.

True Real Time data direct from the shop floor in a format that is quick to review and act on. Instant and post production reporting with clear and precise data.

Document control that is simple and easy to manage yet still compliant to quality standards.

It???s a ???living??? constantly improving system. Management encourage users to give feedback, provide the means to do so and ???listen to the voice of the customer???.

Tech support. Basically when you need it, extremely professional and at a level beyond most major software companies.

Cons

Like other systems Its only as good as the data entered.

The reporting structure is Crystal Report Based. If you do not have in-house Crystal help IQMS will provide support but it is charged separately.

Upgrades and enhancements to improve the system also cause minor disruptions.

Overall

Superb. We spent over three years looking for a ERP system that would balance manufacturing and finance requirements and be able to cope with all the challenges related to injection moulding. We chose IQ and after six years of use have not regretted that decision once.

Pros

IQMS provides a very robust system with a high degree of flexibility. It encompasses and integrates most operational and accounting functions into a single system which is very valuable. This results in fewer user interfaces that must be supported by IT and our Supervisors. It also results in our operational functions all working from the same data base.

We provide a system overview for many new customers. These customers are much, much larger than us, but they usually express that they wish they had such extensive functionality in their company's systems.

The functionality that enables a user to "jump" directly from, for example, inventory item to bill of material, adds to the efficiency for users once they understand it.

Design of the IQMS software allows our Production supervisors, set-up technicians and operators to use the system to monitor what presses are running using "Real-Time". They also can see if the job is running according to standards.

Cons

Because of the fullness of functionality and flexibility provided by IQMS, at times it appears overly complex to users as they first begin learning the system. It can seem a bit overwhelming. Learning to navigate wihtin the system is a key.

The Help system could be stronger, but we consider this a struggle for most software packages.

Overall

We are very satisfied with IQMS. We are committed to continuing to expand our usage of the system. IQMS provides more functionality than what we have learned to take advantage of. We believe it is a system that will support our planned rapid growth in business.

The flexibility of IQMS is key to our success. We have started including an IQMS demonstration on prospective customer plant tours; all who are impressed with its' abilities and adaptability to customize reports to meet their needs, i.e. inventory levels, reorder points, etc.

IQMS allows us to integrate all our businesses processes into one database with the ability to get data quickly and easily.

Cons

We have had a few issues with software upgrades. While the upgrades always include enhanced features that allow for further integration and ease of use, occasionally the changes have unforeseen consequences that cause small inconveniences.

I would recommend installing all upgrades on a test database first.

Pros

When we started to evaluate a change in ERP systems we investigated several larger company alternatives that for various reasons did not compare in the slightest to the smaller lesser known entity of IQMS. The demonstration of the software left us shocked at how the system seemed to perform. Different areas of the software were linked together in a logical manner. You could see the logical progression from Sales, Scheduling, Manufacturing, Shipping and Invoicing presented in one contagious swoop. We left that meeting overjoyed that we found ???The One???. It was surprising to us that so many other of the bigger companies don???t ???get it??? like IQMS does. They have it right with this product and the way they conduct their business.

Cons

Support availability. Although there are multiple ways to contact support it seems that when we need support the most we get voicemail. They have gotten much better since implementing a Systems Support menu option and that seems to have eased the call cue a little bit but it is still not quite where I would expect it to be.

Overall

IQMS is a fantastic company and an equally fantastic ERP. I see other companies struggle with all kinds of problems with their ERP. I shake my head and tell them you need IQMS. I can???t think of a single product that compares or even gets close. IQMS gives you everything you need in the core software, they adapt it to customer???s wants / needs, and upgrades are free with maintenance.

Pros

Customer support is excellent. They have been very helpful with a variety of questions and do a good job of following up on issues that are not readily solved in a single phone call. I never get the feeling that they are simply trying to get me off the phone, but instead are genuinely interested in solving my problem.

Navigation is very robust, but easy to use. The ability to "jump to" related screens is a big plus.

Reporting is also very robust, with many standard reports and the ability to quickly generate and add custom reports using Crystal Reports.

Security is full featured, allowing us to limit access where necessary, not only at the form level, but all the way down to the field level. We can limit certain users to read only views, or allow them to update certain fields, but still limit them from areas of a form where they are not authorized.

Cons

Much of the terminology and functionality is geared to the plastics industry. Since we are not in this business, it can be somewhat cumbersome at times to have to wade through all of the plastics features to get to those that we need.

The cost accounting functionality does not allow us to break down manufacturing costs in as much detail as we would like. We are currently evaluating the latest release to see if this has been improved.

Because we are outside of EIQ's core customer type, it is hard to get any traction with enhancement requests. Since our enhancements tend to be things going away from the plastics industry, sometimes it feels like we are really swimming up stream to get changes made.

MRP can sometimes be confusing when trying to figure demand for various inventory items. We also have not been able to find a way to allocate inventory for a specific task so that the system knows that the items in question are no longer available for other tasks.

Overall

EIQ is a much better solution than our previous conglomeration of software. It provides us with good inventory control and BOM functions. The positive aspects of the software outweigh the negative aspects, and we are having some success in eliminating these negatives as well.

No real cons that wouldn't apply generally to all other ERP software (for example, the cost of annual maintenance and license pricing model, better tools for monitoring license usage, cumbersome security, and the upgrade process).
You do need at least one full time in-house "champion."
Most of our issues with IQ tend to be self-inflicted and usually come from our internal lack of proper understanding of the appropriate use of the program, and/or real world constraints (for example, "do you want it under budget or on time?"). As with any software support, sometimes you must patiently ask complicated questions a couple of different ways before you both reach a mutual understanding of each other's positions.

Overall

Getting IQMS will be like hiring the most productive IT person(s) you've ever seen.
IQMS will not solve all your problems, just most of them.
And as your business grows and your needs change, you will likely be pleasantly surprised to discover that IQMS has the depth and robustness to grow with you.
Take your time and make sure you define your needs/wants well. Imagine both the scenarios of bad economy and 50% drop in your sales, and then good economy and 50% increase in your sales. What's your annual maintenance cost, and license pricing going to be? Be sure to do the math, and buy only what you need, and what you (and your employees) will actually implement and use.
IQMS is flexible and helpful with this. Unlike others, my experience is that IQMS will undersell you (i.e. talk you into buying less now, and more later, rather than all now). Listen to their advice.

Pros

We started with IQMS in 2004. We have come along way since then. IQMS has many modules that help in day to day activity. Instead of having mulitple softwares we can use the one.
Real time ~ we can see exactly what is happening on the floor at any given time.
What is really nice is the ability to revise reports for your own needs.

Cons

There is so much that IQMS offers and I do not think we use IQMS to its fullest.
We have done a few IBT's and then found out we were 2 version behind. A lot of the questions we had were already fixed in the newer versions.

Overall

I would definately recommend IQMS to any Custom Injection Molder.

Pros

One of the best integrated ERP solutions in the small / mid-size market. Provides easy access to all modules (based on security access). Gives good visibility to executive management as well as the middle management and answers questions on supply and demand with the sales order, production planning and reporting, inventory modules.

We have identified and implemented a number of cost saving opportunities and lean initiatives.

The system is stable and most of the basic features (good number of custom reports) are already available.

Cons

1. System architecture needs to be flexible enough to provide patches for production issues, especially bugs. 9.9 out of 10 times we are asked to upgrade to a new build for a bug.
2. Design of security and providing access is cumbersome and difficult to administer.
3. Accounting modules (including Fixed Assets) and Financial packages are very weak.
4. Sales order revisions are practically non-existent.
5. Production modules need to understand extrusion processes in a better way (especially MRP engine logic)
6. Better documentation / support required for System architecture planning for new customers
7. Need to focus beyond U.S. (interms of currency exchange, smart page links hardcoded to US-specific web pages)
8. Generally knowledgeable support staff, however some require better coaching on issues and experience in supporting production systems)
9. Add-on moduels like Time and Attendance, QA, HR have basic features; Have abundant opportunities to improve and make them better.

Overall

Enterprise IQ is a smart system that is very well integrated. With ease of use and access to information, this is one of the better systems in the plastics industry in the mid-size market.

The system is not perfect, however it works and the transactions are accurate.

Pros

One system that contains everything we need to run the business, instead of the multiple data bases and software packages we used previously.

The real time interface- allowing users to see production information as it is happening.

With the implementation of IQMS and the Warehouse Management module we were finally able to accurately value and track inventory. No more crazy end of the year adjustments. This alone justified the cost of the IQMS.

User Friendly and easy to navigate!

The support we receive from IQMS.

The continuous changes and upgrades- IQMS is always striving to improve.

Cons

I am not sure we are always using IQMS to its fullest potential. I am afraid we may be missing some new feature or change because we don't know it is there.

Upgrades are sometimes a bit tricky.

Overall

We would, without a doubt, recommend IQMS! It is the single best investment we have ever made. IQMS is at the heart of everything we do here at PCI; it has changed the way we do business for the better. It has helped us to streamline our procedures and have a much better overall picture of the business. We have confidence in the data and reports we pull out of IQMS, which is priceless.

Pros

IQMS manages our injection molding operations extremely well. The scheduling and purchasing modules are slick, and the program can handle all the quirky aspects of our industry such as family tools, running down cavitation, concentrate let-down ratios, sales orders with multiple releases, etc. The Real Time monitoring system collects data as jobs are run, and managers can see the current status of all presses on a single screen. The captured info is used in the program to calculate 'runs best' data that is continually refined as jobs are run multiple times, and used in the scheduling module.

The program can do so much, and we are only using a fraction of its capabilities, but plan on using more and more as time goes on.

Technical Support is good, as are the on-site consultants.

Reports are written in Crystal reports, which allows infinite customization.

Cons

IQMS is not the most intuitive program, and thus there is a steep learning curve at implementation. For example, some very useful screens are really hidden and a user would never 'stumble' upon them or even know about their existance if not shown by a trainer. Also, the screens/menus are not consistant across all modules. For example, there are different ways to sort lists depending on what screen you are in. However, once users have been trained and have a month's experience in the areas they work in, it is very easy to manuever around.

The 'canned' reports are not always that great, but if you know Crystal you can tweak them to your heart's content. You can also request a custom report from IQMS for a fee.

The accounting module does the job, but is really awkward to use. (if your bookkeepers are accustomed to Quickbooks or Peachtree, they are going to 'hate' IQMS).

Overall

If you are a plastic injection molder, BUY THIS PROGRAM!!! We looked at many other packages, but none of them were going to work for us. Make use of on-site consulting at implementation and on an on-going basis to make full use of the software and to discover new features as they are introduced in new releases.

Cons

We always have issues after the upgrade process. We can't get a definitive response as to whether the problem is hardware or software. User licenses seem a little pricey. We use T/A but don't find it as well developed as the other modules we use

Pros

Integrated modules for single vendor / single source complete ERP implementation - IQMS provides all of the ocmponent we needed to get our manufacturing facility in sync.

Reltime Manufacturing Metrics - The Realtime components of the system allow for immediate and preemptive actions to maintain high manufacturing standards and sustainable quality.

Customization Options - The flexibility of the system allows for customized solutions to be developed for additional processes. The integration team at IQMS takes the time to listen to the needs of the customer to develop the right solutions.

User Driven Development - IQMS values input and ideas from their userbase. That is a key component in any new development of IQMS.

Cons

Confusind Version Numbers - Version numbers on the software can be a bit confusing and maybe even misleading.

Implementation Can Be Cumbersome - Our implementation was not as streamlined as we would have wanted it to be. At times we were misled as to some of the functionality only to find out it required additional components whichw ere not readily available.

Overall

At Monoflo International, Inc, we searched for a replacement to our aging and static ERP system. We wanted something scalable, powerful, dynamic and productive. We were looking for a solid solution backed by industry standard components that would help us achieve manufacturing supremacy in our market. IQMS, along with our superior quality product base and forward-thinking staff, helped us achieve that goal.

Pros

EnterpriseIQ provides a full ERP system including a payroll module. There is no need to use 3rd party software to transfer/link labor time & attendance to payroll. MRP is easy to use and provides users with real-time availability and requirements through the use of finite scheduling. Powerful reports can be created through the use of Crystal Reports. Files can be linked with ease providing users with exactly what they want/need to be on "their" custom report. Bill of Materials are complete as they contain cycle time, labor, work center and materials required. A Preventative Maintenance module can track Tooling and Equipment usage and generate service work orders based on cycle counts or routine tasks. Each module allows attachment of documents, either Internal notes or External documents maintained through their Quality Module in Document Control. IQMS provides excellent customer support and welcomes user input as to the development & enhancement of their software.

Cons

The only issue that we have had with EnterpriseIQ is trying to integrate biometric fingerprint readers to use as our means of collecting attendance. The time clock capture is easy to use, however, there is no way to validate if an employee is clocking themselves in/out and/or a co-worker in/out.

Overall

I would highly recommend EnterpriseIQ. The staff at IQMS is a pleasure to work with and extremely accessible. IQMS listens to their users and allow them to have a great amount of input into enhancements to EnterpriseIQ. When there is a question as to how users feel about an enhancement that another user suggests, it is put to a user vote. This is done online so that users don't have to wait until a user group meeting to vote. IQMS hosts Users Group meetings that are very informative and helpful for networking with other users. With many tools that IQMS has provided to their users, users can easily pose questions to a user forum and get a quick response. EnterpriseIQ is a great ERP solution that should not be passed by!

Pros

IQMS runs our plant - over the course of 20+ years we have had most modules of IQMS implemented. We could not perform our jobs without it. Because IQMS was initially designed for the plastic industry, there are inherent characteristics that make it the perfect fit. Their support teams are excellent no matter what problems we encounter. I have not found any other software or vendor that matches their service.

Cons

The cost has obvious impact on most decisions - but without a doubt - when we were first building our plant and investing in new equipment from office furniture, to infrastructure(chillers, compressors), to molding machines, the investment in the software was significant but was worth it to start out with from the beginning(even when we had no customers). The tough part now - is to make sure we are fully using all aspects of the software. My 3 star rating on implementation and 4 on ease of use, only reflects the fact that it requires a huge commitment to understand the many ways IQMS can be implemented. The commitment must come from everyone - who typically are very busy already with their regular job. It's complicated because the manufacturing process and assembly process is complicated. Also the technical knowledge required to learn/teach requires computer knowledge and industry knowledge. But once learned - it can be very powerful and something a company can't live without.

Overall

If we had to start all over again - we would once again choose IQMS over any other MRP software. We have had our own medical device customers review our software and systems - and ask if they could purchase the software for their own internal use even if not a plastic manufacturer.

Pros

1. Easy to use - ICON's and features are very logical and easy to train. Features allow you to jump to information without having to leave current module.
2. Modules are all fully integrated making the need for externally generated information obsolete. All information is readily available in IQ thereby eliminating the need for third party software or maintaining data in excel spreadsheets etc.
3. IQ listens and responds to customer needs. They are constantly improving/expanding the functionality and provide options for individual users. Not a one size fits all type approach.
4. Lots of features that allow for automation, taking the human error element out of the process
5. Support is very helpful and extremely useful. We rely on support often

Cons

1. Going through the upgrade process can be encumbersome. IQ puts out a document of what has changed however it is very lengthy so sometimes after an upgrade you are caught off guard about a change. We also find 'bugs' after an upgrade that can be time consuming to fix.
2. Support is an overall pro, however, I believe that IQ is expanding their customer base fairly rapadily so we have noticed their usual rapid responses are slowing down and often it will now take follow up emails to have an issue resolved.

Overall

Overall I would highly recommend IQ as a complete ERP package.

5. Scheduling works great and the real time module is an added bonus.

Cons

None that I can think of at this time from the modules I use.

Overall

I recommend EIQ to whomever I meet and wherever I meet them. We went from a manual based spreadsheet system where the same data was being entered by three people in 3 different systems. This was very time consuming and added too much work. With EIQ, I can now create all my AR invoices with 3 clicks, purchasing finds it very easy to order raw materials and follow up with suppliers and shipping/receiving have been able to free up time for more important tasks. EIQ is a true ERP solution and they stand behind their product. I did my research/homework for more than 1 year and found IQMS to be the best for our industry. They also listen to what the customer wants unlike all the other software companies in the marketplace which is in itself priceless! Implementing is a timely process therefore I would recommend one person be dedicated to this. I had to implement and do my day to day work which became very overhwelming.

Pros

We were able to purchase and start using the system in about 9 weeks. While I don't recommend this timeframe, it demonstrates that IQ has worked out the bugs, and the system works, all you have to do is load your data.

The system is very robust because pretty much everything you need is already there, you don't end up paying for alot of extra customization.

Because the system is integrated, the upgrades are pretty smooth. Previous systems were so splintered and customized that you couldn't afford to upgrade because the you might break something else.

Overall the system is pretty intuitive and consistent from a users standpoint. The right click jumps are very useful.

Cons

There are some quirks that rise up due to IQ's history of coming from the plastics industry. We had a few misteps in the initial setup but the IQ support was very helpful.

The help documentation is lacking in a few places and doesn't always tell you what the ramifications of your choices are. i.e. if you make something a packaging type inventory item, the BOM functions are handled differently.

The standard cost rollup tool doesn't roll up all the way through multiple layers in the BOM so the roll has to be repeated multiple times to capture all standard cost updates.

The security administration is complex and cumbersome.

Overall

For our company, I definetly think this was the very best choice we could have made. The system wide integration gives you access to alot of features that other software packages have to special build and bandaid on to their system.

I don't think you can go wrong buying IQMS.

We have been very satisfied and our users think is way ahead of anything else we have used

Due to various business situations, We have used 4 different ERP packages and this is the first one our users have not complained about after is was implemented.

Cons

Wish the upgrades would take less time to do. On each update you have to revisit System Security and tweak Users rights for items that they use to have and now they don't.

- Not a process-monitoring system.

Overall

IQMS revolutionized the way we do business and allowed us to absorb huge revenue growth over several years with minimal staff. Eliminated multiple packages and spreadsheets in favor of a single, comprehensive system.

Pros

EnterpriseIQ is a very comprehensive and robust ERP system. We were able to consolidate our old ERP and several independent, and often redundant databases, spreadsheets and other systems into one central application. In general, the system is reliable and easy to maintain. Support is good, readily available, and domestic. No pressing (1) for English. IQMS as a company seems to value its customers, and is responsive to their needs and wants as a whole. The software is continually being enhanced, both in depth and breadth. The MRP engine is powerful and very quick, taking just a few minutes to generate. Overall, the system is very intuitive and user friendly. New users are able to learn and become functional quickly. Additionally, great training is available in person or via the web. IQMS is very integrated, so it is easy to jump from one module to another without having to navigate endless menus. IQMS comes with many pre-written reports and customization is relatively easy with CR.

Cons

In the grand scheme of things, relative to other ERP systems, there are few drawbacks to IQMS, and no showstoppers for NBP. Occasionally the MRP engine creates a work order that doesn't seem to have any demand, so sometimes I have to evaluate the need for an order manually to be sure. Security/permissions for the system is a bit cumbersome at times, but IQMS has improved that recently and continues to work on it. Alerts seems to be a bit unstable. I don't know if that is a widespread issue or unique to us, but I frequently have to restart the app. We have not been able to get IQ to fit our needs for quoting, but in all fairness our system is fairly elaborate. We also found the Workforce module to be weak.

Overall

I can only speak from the perspective of injection molding, but we have found EnterpriseIQ to be a very good fit for our business. It is very strong in Scheduling, Quality, CRM, Real-Time Press Monitoring, Warehouse/Inventory Management, and Asset Management, as well as the core ERP functions (AR, AP, etc.) (We do not run EDI so I can't comment). NBP is running far more efficiently now than before we implemented IQ. We painstakingly evaluated many software packages prior to making our selection, and we are glad that we chose EnterpriseIQ. I recommend it wholeheartedly. EnterpriseIQ is the intelligent choice.

Pros

- EnterpriseIQ is a very flexible, feature-rich application with a nicely integrated set of modules
- Industry specific with many built-in enhancements specific to the plastic molding and manufacturing industry
- User-friendly interface with good security framework and functionality across all modules
- Use of standard Crystal Reports for custom reporting
- Robust Oracle back end database
- Has the ability to run as a Citrix Server published application
- Handles multi-plant configuration scenarios
- Web and RF based modules for some computing functionality on mobile and scanner devices
- Helpful and responsive customer service and tech support
- Decent built-in and online help documentation
- Online, instructor-led training classes available for most modules

Cons

- Installation and configuration of database server, client machines and various other components is a bit complicated and can be very tricky if upgrading hardware or software versions
- Have encountered occasional flaws/bugs or shortcomings in functionality within some modules (may be addressed in more recent versions)
- Barcode label printing is cumbersome and difficult to configure and maintain across multiple remote locations
- No public API or developer license to make customizations to database schema or application modules
- Customer service / tech support not available 24/7
- Client applications not Windows 64 bit compatible

Overall

Overall, I think IQMS is a solid ERP solution that is particularly ideal for industry specific applications. The real power of this application is the tight integration between modules, the user-friendly interface and the minimal system administration required. The IQMS product is supported by a friendly and responsive technical support department. They also have worked with us to facilitate feature requests and enhancements to the product.

Pros

IQ continues to: A) improve existing functionality, and B) Add functionality in response to customer input and new markets. This has allowed us to use the program for an injection plastics, rubber molding and a metal turning operation.

Customer service is excellent, and I have heard they are working on 24/7 access.

Documentation is excellent overall - if you use the help files they will normally answer most questions.

Web based training was very useful and an inexpensive way to get many folks familiar with the system.

Intermodule jumps are wonderful (jump from a PO to inventory, receipts, invoices, etc) and constantly amaze.

The ability to create a user-defined table at most important places reduces the need to "steal" a field for another use - very innovative and less prone to "folklore" type mistakes.

Tracing of transactions, such as PO changes, or customer changes to delivery requests are invaluable when attempting to see what happened and when.

Cons

We don't use the EDI, WMS (RF scanners), label printing or Time and Attendance modules because of the complexity of our needs - others do, so this is not necessarily a minus for all potential users.

Overall

I gave implementation 3 stars, but planning will make it easier!

The initial construction of your databases is critical, and will determine whether your implementation is successful or a nightmare. I strongly urge anybody considering this package to also factor in the costs of using their excellent professional services group (I will happily recommend a particular person on request) as they have an intimate knowledge of the modules, especially the GL, BOM and the numerous foundational tables that must be populated in the correct order for a smooth implentation.

I wouldn't recommend attempting to implement every module initially, and the use of IQMS resources can definitely help to determine the order and timing of each module's implementation.

Anticipate a LOT of training on this system - it is complex. You will NOT save money by scrimping here. Their trainers know their onions and have heard most questions before and can answer them on the spot.

Pros

There are many Pros to EIQ. First, it is a TRUE ERP package. EIQ has INTEGRATED has all the elements necessary to run a plastics business. These are IQMS written modules, not a skeleton package that 'bolts on' other vendor applications. Second, the EIQ implementation was on schedule for each plant where we deployed it. Third, IQMS excels at listening to 'the voice of the customer'. IQMS listens very closely to the requests and suggestions of the user community. The IQMS user group is very active and the user group meetings that IQMS hosts are very productive. Fourth, IQMS keeps the software fresh. As new innovations and practices are developed in the general ERP world, IQMS is right there updating the software to reflect the current state of ERP thinking. Fifth, IQMS is niche market. We use EIQ for plastics processing and it speaks the language of plastics. Try to find a generic ERP package that talks about Regrind, Runners, Sprue, Blends at the press, cavitation, etc.

Cons

Customer Service is not 24/7

Overall

I can only objectively comment on EIQ for Plastics. Our relation with IQMS has been a very successful one. The software does everything we need it to do stock, without modifications. Implementations have all been very smooth, and on time and budget. IQMS support is very good and timely. From general Customer Support to more detailed technical support, IQMS has always been there for us. The niche business aspect means that EIQ is designed for plastics, not for businesses with different needs. The user interfaces are pretty easy to understand and use. The use of Crystal reports makes writing custom reports fast, easy and free. The cost benefit for EIQ is very good. When you look at the cost of deploying EIQ versus other packages, EIQ is very price competitive. Annual maintenance costs are less than with other packages I have priced. Summary, after being an IQMS customer for many years and using the software, I would buy EIQ again.

Pros

1) Very User-friendly and easy to understand modules. Users catch on quickly with very little training.
2) Support at IQMS is awesome.
3) Most modules can be configured with available options that let each company customize features and standards to accomplish what they need to in order to be successful in business.
4) IQMS is continually enhancing their software to keep up with the software industry changes as well as with the demands of their customers.

Cons

1)Impressed with all modules except one, time and attendance. It is not as user friendly as other modules.
2)Would like to see development in the area of being able to create forms such as Operator Instruction forms and Production Process forms within IQMS.
2) The cost of a user license.

Overall

I highly recommend IQMS and I believe that all my users at all 3 of our e-plants would agree.

Pros

The integration for us is the key component in keeping all departments apprised of current business performance. In what would have been multiple databases, spreadsheets in previous systems, we now have at the tip of our fingers within the same login. In addition, we have been able to reduce the number of third party maintenance contracts.

IQMS's desire to listen and respond to their customers requests is second to none. When we started there was a Software Change Request Process, which was a good means of getting in customers needs. Recently, IQMS rolled out a new platform on Community Server which allows their customers to be heard and also lets other customers a chance for feedback.

Great follow up by all personnel in Technical Support.

Cons

Technical Support is not available on weekends. However, if an emergency presents itself, arrangements can be made so you are covered.

Limitations in Crystal Reporting for charting, however, with the addition of SmartPage we are finding this to be less of an issue.

Overall

I would highly recommend EnterpriseIQ to manufacturing and distribution companies seeking an integrated ERP system. The system is very user friendly and the transition from module to module is seamless making cross training much easier.

Pros

Enterprise IQ is the only system that truly integrates manufacturing and financial systems together. Their strength is that it has been developed with the focus on manufacturing rather than financial. Most ERP systems start with the financial side including order entry, purchasing and the like most do not support manufacturing and manufacturing processes or recommend third party applications to enhance their system in an attempt to provide a full ERP solution. IQMS's focus has always been manufacturing first. The beauty of Enterprise IQ is that you have one install to support. The infrastructure is built so they all work together seamlessly. IQMS is one of the most customer focused organizations I know. The development cycle, User Group meetings and Change Request systems all work together to enhance or make the system more user friendly. They are very easy to work with, the staff is extremely knowledgeable about the entire system and are a pleasure to work with.

Cons

There are not many cons to speak of. I believe this is due to the fact that they have a very robust system that is extensively tested prior to release and that they are such a customer focused organization. They do not always accommodate all change requests however they do make an effort to review it and respond as to why or why not the change will be accepted or rejected.

Overall

If you are in manufacturing, particularily in the plastics business, thee is no better ERP system for your business. The system is fully integrated, is a single source, meets Quality system standard requerments with the built in interfaces. It allows for some customization and development of reports you build in Crystal and integrate them into the ERP system directly without having to build an external menu system to run the reports. I have no problem recommending this software to anyone.

Pros

Purchased Dec, 2003, went live 05/2004 , replaced 4 separate DB's with 1 intregrated system, and added QA & maint tracking systems. No finger pointing, replacing stand-alone systems with one is a huge PRO in my mind. I was leery about EDI, much to my delight integration is outstanding. Front loads are visible in the schedule right away, instead of 24 hours later saving us expedite costs. The system is very intuitive, easy to learn, look and feel is consistent through the system From a user???s standpoint it is easy to operate. Help Files are superb, great care is taken into assuring their accuracy.
There is an abundance of drill down and right click functionality in the system. Example: almost immediately our President was able to go to Real Time Screen, jump to schedule, drill down to BOM and inventory item w/o knowing how to get into the individual modules. That kind of functionality makes the system very easy to navigate.

Cons

CS: 4. Knowledgable support staff but some issues take time to resolve, which can be frustrating from user???s eyes. (usually involve our use of the system not broken software) Very few calls due to broken software (usually after an upgrade) Never been DOWN due to software issue (this is big). But with so much functionality there???s bound to be some problems. We get timely fixes when needed. IQMS is not perfect, but the software mostly JUST WORKS.
Feature richness- 4. IQMS offers about everything to run business (ex T&A, QA, HR), add-ons may not be best of breed (you may find some features are lost) but core functions are solid and they integrate. We find the compromise (not all bells/whistles)in some ancillary modules worth it because of the INTEGRATION in 1 DB.
Overall, very few cons, but pro is the con for IT. Upgrades affect everyone now (not just standalone users) But it helps a lot having just one company to work with.

Overall

I cannot speak to IQMS???s functionality outside of my industry (we are custom injection molding) as I know that they have branched into other types of molding as well as discrete manufacturing. I can, however, attest that the system fits injection molding like a glove.
If you are looking to replace your current ERP system, I would strongly recommend that you consider IQMS???s EnterpriseIQ .

Pros

From the perspective of an injection molder, there's very little that we do as a company that we cannot translate into a module in IQMS. What used to be many different "islands of information" has been transitioned into IQMS since going live with the system in the summer of 2003.

As some of the newer modules become more mature, this trend will continue for us. The fewer the databases, the easier it is to query all of that data simultaneously to generate more useful information.

Cons

IQMS has continued to grow their customer base. At times, that growth has been fairly rapid. During those times, it has sometimes put a strain on their Tech Support staff. Though they do a great job, I think they've been understaffed at times, but they do seem to fill the gaps pretty quickly.

Overall

Unlike an SAP or JD Edwards solution, IQMS is very discrete. Because their system is so focused, if their system fits your needs, then you win during implementation. Rather than a 24 to 36 month rollout, the average IQMS implementation takes 6 to 9 months. There's no time or money wasted on customization because you're not given the source code. In other words, it's basically off the shelf. If it closely fits your needs, then it's great. If it doesn't, then go in another direction. When you bring IQMS out to demonstrate their software, they'll tell you as much. If they don't see you as at least a 95% fit for their software, they don't want to sell it to you. They take pride in their customer retention rate, and avoid taking on customers when they know that the system won't be a fit.

Pros

The system is pretty much entirely integrated. We at DLH Industries, Inc.use the software for Manufacturing, EDI, Accounting, Shop Floor monitoring, and Inventory control. Implementation specialist was top notch. System also runs rock solid with very little downtime. Price is very competitive fro the feature set delivered. IQMS as a whole is very open to customer feedback and reacts to the feedback.

Cons

I would have given support 5 stars instead of 4 except for the following:

No weekend or after hours support. We run 24 x 5

Sometimes difficult to get problem resolved by first person to answer. However, support calls are always tracked

Still, the IQMS support team is better than most other support entities I have dealt with even with issues cited above.

Overall

I would highly recommend IQMS for any manufacturer seeking to upgrade or install an ERP system. We reviewed many of their competitors thoroughly and IQMS had the best integration by far of any other ERP vendor.
