Pros: Comprehensive features, customizable, easy to use billing

Cons: Servers are sometimes slow, no cost differential for low volume providers, only one integrated credit card proecessing vendor, with higher than average fees.

Overall: Dr Chrono is a full featured EHR with available practice management tools. Customizable note templates, patient portal, EPCS, integrated lab ordering/results, efax, patient online self scheduling, patient flags, integrated billing insurance platform with realtime eligibility information, and straightforward claims tracking...

We've been using the system, including the billing software, since March 2016 and continue to be pleased. There are a few quirks and frustrations. For example it's not set up perfectly well to pass tasks back and forth between office assistants who may not be in the office every day.

It's a little expensive, but sometimes you get what you pay for. Dr Chrono billing software is so easy to use, I don't have to pay an outside biller. So that offsets the cost quite a lot.

Cons: So many problems

Overall: While this program is fairly easy to use we have had lots of continued problems with it. We've frequently submitted help tickets and often I'll get an email asking me to rate my customer support without ever actually getting any help at all. Documentation sometimes deletes itself which is extremely problematic. There has been a whole other host of issues.

Comments: i have been very happy with my decision to use drchrono . I joined about a year ago, and initially the learning curve was hard but then I spent some time with my training gal (forgot her name but she was really helpful), and was able to overcome this.

The layout is easy to use and manageable, love the appt reminders. My staff is all about the color coding too...

Ipad app---AMAZING. I have been searching for a mobile solution and there is nothing like it. You can click boxes, drop down menus and full note is generate for you. love it! also picture taking capability is huge...

can take HIPPA photos and draw on them. Also e-faxing is an udnerrated feature, all patient referrals can be assigned directly.

I have enough time to write a review on this product now

Comments: I'm an Orthopedic Surgeon with my own practice here in Chicago and my wife is an RN over at Northwestern. Earlier on when I was at the hospital, she and I would spend many of our evenings working on our documentation. But since then she had moved into administration and I started my own practice. She began leaving her work at the office and I was still working with paper notes.

I decided to get an EMR system and the system I went with allowed me to type up all of my notes, just like with Epic, but I was still spending time late at work or at home taking care of my notes. Recently, however, a colleague of mine in LA mentioned that he started using drchrono. I had never seen drchrono at any of our conferences and none of the EMR ads or emails mentioned them either. My IT guy didn't even mention that I could be using a cloud based system. But he mentioned their templates and that they had a great iPad application helped him save time on his documentation. So I had one of my staff take a look at one of their demos.

My staff was sold on it for them and said that the templates looked like something that could really help. A demo, a couple of training sessions over the computer, and some effort on creating my medical forms I'm actually having a great experience using this EMR.

As I mentioned at the title, I have a lot of time on my hands now that we have everything implemented and I'm able to go out and spend time with my wife now. Happy wife, happy life.

Comments: I've been using DrChrono for two years and love it. Their people have been very helpful who train my staff and built our custom templates. We used several other programs and without a doubt DrChrono is the best. I use an iPad for charting and the office has two laptops, we also have an iPad in reception to check in patients.

Comments: I have been a drchrono customer for the last four years (really since the beginning of their time) so this review is my honest opinion of the previous years with drchrono. drchrono has really stepped up their game - I am happy I stayed with them.

I use to wait days before someone would get back to me when I had an issue. I have been blown away that within the last year I haven't had to worry about waiting days to weeks to get answers and I just really realized that as I sent in my last few tickets. The support people were so helpful, I got an answer in less than an hour and they actually addressed my concerns. Such an improvement.

I use to have a lot of downtime with drchrono which made the "efficiency of an EHR" non-existent. I haven't had downtime in I don't know how long which has been great for my practice. I spoke with a few drchrono members who said they were fixing the issue, building out infrastructure (whatever that means) but I am really happy I didn't switch during that time. I can now work throughout the day on my EHR and no longer need to chart my notes at home.

For a period of time I used drchrono with a biller I had on staff. She use to complain that the system was slowing her down because it took a ton of clicks in order to run the report she was looking for or post a payment or whatever. After being assigned an Account Manager I was able to talk with them about this pain point my biller was experiencing; within the next day or so there was a new button added so she didn't have to click around as much as she was having to. She said this has saved her hours every week. I don't think our account would get that service anywhere else.

On another note, my biller had to take a leave of absence because she was having a baby. I didn't know how to follow up on the billing and didn't have anyone else in the office that could help so again I called my Account Manager. She mentioned that drchrono could help me in the meantime or permanently by becoming my biller while she is out. She has been out for two months now and I have to say, the transition was very easy and I am actually making more money since they have stepped up doing the billing services.

As you can see, I am very happy I didn't switch EHR's.

Good luck in your EHR decisions but save yourself the hassle and join drchrono. They listen to you, they are helpful and they are always updating their software (at no additional cost).

Comments: There are several pros for the use of this program. It is very easy to use! There are a couple of suggestions that would be extremely helpful for our practice. As we make many phone calls for our patients, it would be much easier to use if it was totally electronic with our notes. A phone book section for doctors or on-call numbers would be great. Also, If there was a specific note section for phone calls to patients it would make it much easier for communication purposes. Like the recurring appointments section, it would be nice to have an option have reminders to setup appointments for each pt. For example: John Doe came in and had his initial visit, he needs a 1 month, 6 month, and 1 year follow-up visit. It would be nice to have a reminder pop-up for that patient that he needs to be scheduled a few weeks prior to those dates. Also, it would be helpful if there was a section for a call list (patients that need to be called or cannot get a hold of), as well as a personal note section for each team member (for self reminders, notes, etc.) Just a thought!

Comments: I've been a user for 4 years and have consistently battled a total lack of documentation (short of a variety of brief videos) constantly changing features without warning (unlike most packages that roll out well tested updates) and no communication about the changes. It is up to the end user to seek out the info on their blog or elsewhere. No email updates. I hope they pull it together as they have the basis for a good platform.

Comments: We use this software in our high-volume dermatology clinic. Having used other EMRs (Nexgen, AdvancedMD, EMA, eClinicalWorks and EPIC) I can definitively say that Chrono is the best. It is easy to customize, easy to use, has the best ipad functionality, excellent customer support, fair pricing and is fast. We invested the time up front to customize the templates to our workflow; this has resulted in very fast and precise documentation that lacks the other 'junk' that EMRs tend to include - our referring doctors appreciate this. I would highly recommend DrChrono.

Comments: As many of us can relate, the thought of switching out of an EHR system that I am currently unhappy with seems daunting. I wanted to stick with my dysfunctional EHR rather than taking even more time to move onto another EHR with no guarantee it would be better - but my search is over!
Some cons to start off with: I would like a drop down menu as I go through my notes that is pre-built.
Pros: after working with the Drchrono team, they re-created my notes exactly how I would like to save me time during my examinations, and really make my life so much easier. I do not have to spend my nights doing my charting - it is now completed during my exam with my patient!!
Drchrono and their team have been amazing and they worked with my practice to set up the software on my schedule.
Overall, I am VERY happy I switched over to drchrono.

Comments: I have used many EHR systems In various offices and have been extremely frustrated with them all.

Drchrono is simple and not only is the EHR amazing, but the billing software is a life saver too. I don't have to double enter our information anymore into 2 or 3 different systems and I can keep track of where exactly all my money is actually going or not going.

I know our doctors also really like that it's on the iPad so they can take a clinical photo and draw directly on it to document the patients pain points.

Overall, it's a great system and I know our office will be using it for years to come.

Comments: First Impressions of the product:
- nice, clear-cut interface, looks & works great on iOS
- decreased redundant work by creating appointment/billing profiles
- impressive ability to make customized templates pertaining to practice

Pros:
- amazing charting/scheduling tools (reminders for patients are my favorite feature)
- eRX makes prescribing very convenient for both provider and patient
- clickable phone numbers to contact patients
- customized appointment profiles saves a lot of time
- integration/implementation phase is very simple and support is helpful and quick
- ability to take pictures and add to clinical note (another favorite)
- helpful support videos/articles

Cons:
- make the iPad app a bit more user-friendly for first-time users

Overall, this app is spearheading optimal mobility for busy health professionals. There is a nice try before you buy option. I highly recommend this product to anyone who is looking for efficiency and satisfaction.

Comments: In my time as a doctor and a business owner, I was switching between programs and billers trying to make my practice successful. I have been dissapointed to say the least in terms of having a program that has been easy for both my staff and me to use. I believe I am going to be a life long user of DrChrono. I had put way too much effort in trying to learn how to use other programs and not enough time in developing the quality of my practice. It has been tough to spend time with my family and deliver the best level of patient care that I can. There are a couple things that I need to say that I'm thankful that DrChrono's team has been able to do to help me.

1st, Documentation. DrChrono was the first program that I've been able to use that has actually been better than my paper documentation in actually being faster. I am extremely grateful that they have been able to give me time back with my patients and family. I've been able to actually be a doctor again and also develop the quality of my services that my practice is also growing. Their team has helped me to the extent that I'm hiring other doctors and move into a larger office here in Chicago.

2nd, My Staff. Some of the programs that I've used have been tough for my staff to actually used the full capacity of. I really believe that their appointment and billing profiles have helped my staff in managing all of their tasks. Bringing in the new doctors has also been great because they've been able to intuitively learn the program.

3rd, Billing. It took me a while to realize that the way I was doing my billing wasn't bringing in the cashflow that I needed. When I moved over my billing services to DrChrono, I was finally able to hire another Podiatrist and not worry about him getting the paperwork right since they don't teach EMRs and billing in school well enough to prepare them for our world. After around 6 months DrChrono had started to raise my collections by around 15% and I barely have any outstanding bills from the payers outside of 60 days. Before I had around 40% of my claims beyond 120 days outstanding. I was collecting enough for myself and my practice, but not enough to start growing and hiring.

I highly recommend all of DrChrono's services to any doctor.

Comments: Transitioning to Drchrono has been a very positive experience. The staff are exceptionally nice, and support you through learning how to get on board with their EHR. I love the iPad features. Being able to take a picture and upload it directly in to my clinical notes has added a dimension to my documentation that I never thought would be possible. It has been so great to use the iPad while talking to my patients and it puts my patients at ease, as I am able to talk with them easily as I do my assessments. Their billing has been easy to use and has improved my practice tremendously. I would highly recommend this product to anyone looking for a cutting edge EHR that is always improving and rolling out provider-focused features.

Economically priced and simple to use! No more 48 clicks to book a patient, it's down to 3!

Pros: When I started my own practice I was overwhelmed with all of the decisions I had to make, but using Dr. Chrono made scheduling and insurance billing easy. The Dr. Chrono guys are gems that should be shared with other doctors! They personally helped me setup my practice and get patients in the door!

Cons: There were some dental features their software didn't have at first that was really needed by my practice. Such as showing a weekly and monthly view of all patients coming in so I could see where I could fit in new patients on the days I was in my office. But after speaking with the guys at Dr. Chrono they listened to my feedback and started working on implementing my suggestions.

Overall: I strongly advice all of my dental colleagues to try out their service and forget about going with one of the so-called big guys.

Pros: DrChrono.com allowed me to replace 3 different software systems with this one web based system. I can access my schedule and patient information from anywhere using their safe and secure site. I do not have to perform anymore tedious backups, DrChrono.com does if for me. My patients love receiving the email and text reminders and, as a result, I have seen a tremendous improvement with compliance!

Cons: The development team spends a lot of time listening to my suggestions and has improved their program based on my feedback. Any problems and suggestions I have about their product are quickly reacted to and implemented.

Overall: DrChrono.com is the kind of practice management system I have been dreaming of for my entire 15 years of practice!
