Pros: Customization for most applications. Works with all lines of insurance, not just Personal lines and commercial.

Cons: The update changed all my reports and I have to create all new reports. Time consuming to customize the reports the way I like them.

Pros: There is so much functionality to this software. It helps us manage clients, their policies, our downline agents, and our commissions. The integrations with our phone system and Outlook provide great efficiency for our staff.

Cons: Have been anxiously awaiting an online version for some time. Appearance is not user friendly, and the system only works well focusing on one thing at a time.

Overall: GBS Agency Expert is a powerful database for managing any type of insurance agency. The software was created by an insurance agency manager, so it works well for any kind of insurance agency management. We use it to manage prospects, clients and agents. We also manage policies, electronic files, and commissions primarily with the software.

Recommendations to other buyers: Appreciate the ability to customize parts of the software for our needs, but wish we had thought through those needs and did a better job setting ours up from the beginning.

Pros: small text

Overall: I need tech support on 2 of the computers in the office today- I called emailed Scott- her returned the call - he was able to remote in and walk me through step by step. He corrected the problem. A few hours later called him again about another problem on same computer plus and additional issue with a different computer. Without hesitation he took care of it.

Recommendations to other buyers: Scott is patience and understand- he doesn't make me feel ignorant

Comments: Robert provided excellent and extremely well executed service, in our switch from our in office PC based system to converting us to the hosted Cloud based system. The conversion was easy and took very little effort on our end. Robert was very prompt in getting back to me and provided detailed information to any questions we had. As for the program its self we have no issues keeping track of our commissions as well as using the system as a easy was to store data including individual leads and personal client data. We are discovering new ways to use GBS on a daily basis. We have seen a 36% increase in revenue by keeping accurate reports of commissions.
I would recommend this system to any one who has a need to keep accurate information in an easy to use very organized system.

Comments: We are a small insurance broker agency and have used GBS Agency Expert for about 10 years. Data input is intuitively easy. Support and instruction for more complicated reporting and queries is immediate and easy to follow. Superb support. Adaptable and user friendly software. I do and will recommend GBS.

Comments: Cannot say what a great program this has been for our agency. We are a one pay agency and have been in business for many years. So far this year we have processes over 14,000 applications with various insurance carriers and can track it all through this program. We have been very happy with the support and would highly recommend it.

Comments: GBS is the best program I know to keep in informed about what's going on with my clients and their policies. it's easy to use and has very good reports. i probably only use 30 % of the product but i love what i use. Each year i learn something more and use a little bit more.

Comments: GBS Agency Expert has been an absolute asset to my business. Scott Avery has assisted us on many occasions with questions. When our computers contracted a virus, GBS technical support was right there assisting us in adding the software back to our three work stations and getting everything back up and running. We would recommend the product and service to anyone in the insurance industry.

Comments: We have been using GBS for over 10 years and completely satisfied with the technical support team. This is especially true of Scott Avery who has always spent the time necessary to resolve any outstanding problem instead of simply going through the motions.

Outlook 2013 Add-In Problems

Comments: When we switched to Office 365 in the cloud I noticed that the Agency expert add-in was missing from Outlook 2013. Scott was able to log into my computer and after many machinations was able to restore the add-in to Outlook 2013. This is a very important feature which I use all the time and Scott was able to fix the problem. Thank you, Scott.

Overall, GBS is a very powerful tool with many features, some of which I do not use due to the small size of my business, but GBS is an integral part of our operations.

Comments: We've been using Agency Expert for about three years now, and I can't imagine using anything else. Any time I have an issue, I have almost instantaneous support from Scott Avey. I send an email, and five minutes later, he's calling me on the phone! Agency Expert does exactly what we need, and if I can't figure something out, I can always count on Scott to help me out. Comments: We have used GBS since somewhere around 1980, so we've gone through their growing pains and successes with them. The program allows you to store a large amount of detailed information about your clients, both individual and business. If there isn't a field for something you want to track you can create it yourself, so it is very versatile. I use it to track and pay out all of the commission income related to our business and it works great. The only thing that has been difficult for me at first was understanding how the data related to running reports. Over time as I have developed my own set of queries to find the information that I need it has become second nature for the reports that I run on a routine basis and for exporting commission data into Excel. The technical support team is very knowledgeable and responsive. For instance, I sent an email for help this afternoon and Scott Avey was calling me within 20 minutes to help me out. I doubt that you can get that most other places.

Pros: We have used the GBS product for the entire time I have worked here (7+ Years). It is our lifeline to our business.

Cons: Running reports are sometimes difficult to get the parameters that our agents want.

Overall: I would highly recommend this product to any company that needs detailed client files.

Pros: The customer service is excellent

Cons: I still find some things a bit glitchy like headers and footer issues. Printing second pages when I don't have any information on those pages.

Overall: I have nothing else to compare it to. So as far as it meets our needs I think i could recommend it.

Pros: organization of data, captures lots of information, saving from outlook,

Cons: some fields are too small so information is truncated, saving information in benefits tab is cumbersome, organization of emails saved from outlook, LTCi summary format is outdated, difficult to create pretty custom reports

Overall: would be nice it is was like smart office.

Pros: Keeps track of data and generates commission info. Produces basic reports. Exports to Excel. Allows log notes in a nice structure. You can limit user rights. No limit to the types of products we add to the client record. Allows for in-force and lapsed products so you can track the history.

Cons: Custom reports require queries rather than buttons. Difficult at best. Even if you write the perfect query you might not be able to get all the data you need for that report. The search options are limited. Certain report info cannot be combined with other data for export to Excel; commission report data cannot be combined with client data for a custom report. Data is segregated. You must export each report separately then combine them. Need task wizards.
Font size not adjustable. Windows too small. Wasted screen space.

Overall: If you know how to write a query, the reporting tool is strong. If you know how to import into Excel, you can build custom reports from different data types. Commissions are easy once you set it up. It can handle alot of data. It doesn't make mistakes.

Pros: GBS has fullfield our needs for the past 15 years. Customer support has been great. I like being able to send an email to someone and get an answer quickly. When you having a problem you don't want to wait 24 hours to get help.

Cons: GBS is easier to use then it used to be but I wish that it was a little more user friendly in doing some of the reports and also getting the data on to other electronic devices like cell phones. I also think that it is time to be able to get into GBS from the internet.

Overall: We need to be able to get to GBS from the internet.

Pros: It is user friendly and houses alot of data. Report functions are fairly easy.

Cons: Screens are small making commissions difficult for me since I have poor eyesight. I do think we use Outlook more for notes and todos than GBS. Secure email makes it difficult - lot's of cutting and pasting We don't use the email function in GBS too many errors and doesn't look or work like Outlook.

Overall: I would recommend GBS to anyone in our business.

Pros: GBS was the fourth database I tried when I went independent. Others promised a lot but reality never matched the promises. GBS has worked for me for 9 years. I only need to prrchase the mods that I actually need and use. Not only is their tech support quick and knowledgeable they are also looking for ways to make the system better. I would buy it again!!

Cons: In nine years I have had no issues that could not be resolved

Overall: If you are looking for a good data base that is reasonably priced and the sujpport is fantastic take a good look at GBS.

updates keep up with the changing markets and technology.
It does just about everything that someone could ask for out of a system. Everything else that we have asked for looks to be coming in the new .net version

Cons: The only cons have been that the new .net version has been talked about for at least 3 years now and we are anxiously waiting for it. I am assuming that this new version is being held up to work all of the bugs out, so if it comes out with very few bugs it will be worth the wait.

Overall: I would recommend this system to anyone that is looking for a database manager that can also keep track of schedules, documents, scans, investments and polices. All while being able to merge letters and instantly keep copies of emails regular letters and attach any document to the person or policy.

Pros: Having software specifically designed for an insurance agency is key to Agency Expert's ease of use- we don't have to try to make a round peg fit into a square hole. Whenever we have had questions on the program the support team has always provided a rapid and accurate response. We use Agency Expert primarily for client information and policy tracking, scheduling and commission tracking. Having used the program for over seven years- it works for us!

Cons: We would like to see a little more flexibility in sorting emails and notes that we attach to a client record to ease review/search of these items.
