Pros: Ease of use, easy integration with Apple's Mail application. It's easy to file away all relevant e-mails and link them to project, contact, opportunity, etc.

Cons: I wish there were an easy way to keep track of billable and/or business development hours. It can be done now, but it requires a calendar entry for each event. Then, filtering on keyword (e.g. "hours") allows quick overview. Rather, I would like to see a running balance of hours spent on each opportunity and project.

Overall: I love using it because it puts the items of most importance where they can be easily monitored and acted on. I've tried over the years to manage projects and opportunities using other organizational software, but none provide the links to allow the appropriate access to information that is needed for each task.

Pros: Daylite makes it very easy to track every project on my desk. I am a one woman company, working on a number of projects at any one given time and it could so easily be chaos without Daylite. Being able to view emails and documents within projects, as well as the ability to add notes is essential. Since I moved to a Cloud account it has been even better. Very reliable and easy to keep up to date while on the move. There is a lot that is customisable of which I only use a small amount, however that may change as I make use of the tutorials available. The calendar syncs across with ease and the 'Home' page is an essential tool, giving a clear view of the days appointments and tasks. Much of the software is customisable.

Cons: I am always seeking ways to work 'smarter' and thus save time. I would love it if there was a little more functionality so that I could input information on the Project page that would automatically populate a custom sheet in, say, reports. That would save me a huge amount of time. Being able to see the status of all projects and project history on one page would certainly be helpful to me.

Overall: Without this software it would be a great deal harder to control each of the projects I work on. Every project has a different client base and different suppliers, all of whom can be input into the system. It's the control over information that gives peace of mind.

Pros: How well Daylite and Apple Mail play together is a real strength. Capability to link almost anything. Utilization of the cloud and off line data is awesome feature.

Cons: Limited custom fields for organizations, contacts, opportunities, etc. Custom Fields are designed for only simple text. Report builder designed for computer science majors only. Lack of font size control.

Overall: Could not run my business without it.

Pros: The possibility to use it very flexible.
To link mails to contacts, projects and tasks.
Flexible Linkage with apple mail

Cons: The Selfserv installation does not support SSL security standards to share contacts and calendars
Usability of interface could be enhanced, e.g. when entering tasks

Pros: Apart from it being native on a OS X platform, I love the following organised feature that runs my business.
CRM : having my calendar linked with my clients.
Opportunities : having all my quotations to clients organised into one screen.
Projects : having all my projects in one location allows me to see my work flow.

There are tons of feature that Daylite provides and I could hardly go through a day without using it.

Cons: The software could be more graphical like basecamp, but I would choose Daylite anytime because of the functions.

Pros: Easy to use and it is usable for various purpouses. The customer service acts quick and good
It is not expansive

Cons: it is dificult to make your own reparts and it doesnot comunicate with exchange.

Pros: Makes great use of the Apple OS & iOS systems. If you're on those platforms, why not use a program designed specifically to leverage them?!?

Cons: Only minor issues here; there are a few tweaks I'd like to make, but it's a solid system as it is. Would like an option for changes to some record fields to automatically feed into the history log (i.e. address changes, so you have a historical record of when you changed it etc).

Overall: Works well, easy to network with peers, it's become a key part of how we manage our business.

Pros: It syncs beautifully across all devices. Enables me to have all of the information and interaction with my clients and projects all in one place. The interface with Apple Mail delivers the emails into my projects and that combined with files, notes, appointments, and tasks all being attached to my clients means I am always clear on what is happening with my projects.

Cons: Hard to find anything I like least as Daylite is my go-to software. Its a small thing but it would be nice if the calendar view could be changed so that I could see more of the day on the screen at the same time i.e. it is currently in half-hour increments which can't be changed and I often work in evenings and have to remember to scroll down to see appointments in the evening. Would be good if it was customizable to change the viewing to hour increments.

Overall: Makes my life and work easy to organise and keep up-to-date.

Pros: I enjoy the way the software integrates with Mac Mail, which allows me to associate emails with particular projects. I also like how easy it is to look up contacts that are associated with a project. It's nice to have all of the contact information available at a glance.

Cons: I wish the email functions integrated better with their sister software Billings Pro. Email is the primary method of communicating today, and billing can be based in large part on this type of communication.

Overall: I use this for case management; it easily allows me to easily track all events for a given project.

Pros: The software is easy to use. The customer service team is OUT OF THIS WORLD. I love that they allow you 30 days to test the product. If you are a Mac/iPhone/iPad user, you MUST have this software. It brings everything I use (Calendar, Contacts, and Email) and simply rolls it into one. It's a tremendous value that leverages my time. I LOVE THIS COMPANY! I wish AT&T would take lessons from Daylite -- LOL!

Overall: Seamless integration of my email, contacts, and calendar into a great contact management system that leverages my time.

Pros: Daylite integrates seamlessly across the Apple devices of all our team members. It's easy to use, intuitive, easy to personalise and in essence, manages our customer relations for us. The new team function is brilliant, you can see at a glance other team members schedules and workflows, and makes communicating with them and delegating tasks simple. If you're Apple equipped, I'd give Daylite a try, it will revolutionise your business.

Pros: Ability to master schedule across all resources and personnel, create tasks and task lists, and see what everyone is working on all at once. The Customer Service is always top notch, and responds with insight and options. The ability to link entire teams to events.

Cons: The Price per person per month, it's one of the most expensive monthly subscriptions we have and thats counting higher end professional software like Avid and Protools. So we have to be selective about who can have access. There should be 2 tiers. Once for Mobile read only users, and one for full blown Computer access.

Overall: It's changed how I schedule, which is pretty intense for a studio.

Pros: We find the program to be easy to use. When we encountered backup issues briefly, their tech support was quick to respond and helpful.

Cons: A bit pricey for an office with multiple subscribers. Would be nice to have a reduced price for local networks.

Pros: Easy to use, very intuitive re ticklers, tasks, reports, etc. Since I'd been using an iPhone and iPad for years I thought I'd take a chance and try converting to a MAC, Daylite, etc and I'm glad I did!

Cons: Tough to read the gray details in tasks, something market Circle is addressing I'm told. Activating the arrows in Tasks to advance or rewind the month is a little challenging also.

Overall: I use this every day, 7 days a week (since personal ticklers, etc commonly accessed also)

Pros: The integration to OS /iOS is nearly flawless and well maintained with virtually no downtime. Updates always stay ahead of the curve unlike other CRM solutions. Functionally you could not ask for more: Contact, Calendar, Task, Objectives along with contact history all in one place.

Cons: Index within contacts on iOS (IPhone especially) would be a big plus. Once you have a lot of contacts it's difficult to scroll.

Overall: Unified my goals and task management to move my business forward.

Pros: Ease of use, integration with mail, very intuitive and comprehensive. Also, customer service is exceptional. They get back to you quickly and are always responsive.

Cons: The only thing that I can think of (and it isn't that important) is that I have multiple clients with the same company name and it is difficult to sometimes determine which company a person actually goes with

Pros: Daylite is robust but not overly complicated. The customization aspect is excellent. Our team loves using it for a myriad of reasons including - customization of reports, the plugins from IOSxpert - they are fantastic(!), the mobile version on iphone is completely wired in an user friendly, the new team-view features are superb as we are all able to help deliver on tasks and projects when it counts, the user interface is very clean and organized, the calendar integration with iCal and Google is excellent, the smart lists for projects and opportunities are totally functional and help speed up large scale project accessability while connecting team members...and the list goes on. I particularly like the option of dragging up the most pressing opportunities and project to the top tool bar and having them right at my fingertips.

We also integrate Merlin Project into the larger projects and it's compatibility is excellent. There is a bit of learning curve but once our team took the time to dig in and get under the hood of the cross functionality, it only made our project management easier. In fact, I would say that through Daylite, we have come to sell our project management skills and realize this vertical as a profit center for our small company.

Honestly, Daylite is a game-changer. Congratulations on all that you have accomplished and we look forward to continued roll-outs and developments.

Cons: Need to continue improving Apple mail to Daylite and it would be great to have a slack-like messaging component. Probably the biggest 'want' is the ability to output to word and excel in some capacity. Daylite will output to excel in a very limited fashion - it works, but it could be smoother. I realize that this 'ask' would probably require licensing from Microsoft in some capacity and it may be cost prohibitive.

Otherwise, Daylite is a fantastic platform for Apple shops. We have been using it since 2012.

Pros: Works with mac mail with their DMI.
Does everything I need and more. Good feature and usage for filters.

Cons: Needs better pipe line view and usage.
Needs integrated geo map feature.
DMI needs an easy email reminder feature so you dont forget about an email you need an answer on
Needs a better way to extract company info from the web, linked in etc

Pros: Daylite helps us to keep all information about a contact in one place. We can have contact information, notes from every conversation, every email communication, every document we have sent, and every opportunity, project or task associated with the client. Daylite has a great deal of flexibility in the ways you can remind yourself about upcoming activities. It helps us keep commitments to prospects and clients.

Cons: We cannot find a way to scan and load contacts into Daylite. We also wish it interacted with Evernote. We also wish that we could create custom reports more easily. Right now, Daylite recommends that we use a partner to create reports.

Overall: Our company has been using Daylite for 5+ years. MarketCircle is great at listening to customers and making updates and changes that are helpful to us. We are an executive recruiting firm and use this software to track clients, candidates, and each position we are asked to fill.

Pros: Feature rich, integrates natively into OSX (including calendars and contacts). Basic features are intuitive and easy to learn.

Cons: There's a lot to this program, and not all of it quite jumps off the page. A more robust setup wizard would be nice, as well as some more preset connections and such for a wider variety of business types (even a searchable repository of these on MarketCircle's website would be great).

Integrations with non-OSX services also leaves a bit to be desired. Zapier functionality is pretty limited, and it can be tough to get that information out of the program into others.

Overall: Organises my business, tracks my calendar appointments, leads, and contacts, and just generally improves the experience of running my business. I've tried law-specific practice management solutions in the past, and Daylite blows them out of the water.

I have been a Daylite user for almost 10 years and they continue to make their product better.

Cons: No direct calendar integration (on the Apple Watch). I get announcements but not the actual calendar parts.

Pros: Highly polished interface, good tech support, non-subscription model available, ease of organizing emails with other docs

Cons: I wish Billings and Daylite were one single program so that I could do billing within Daylite and not have to switch back and forth.

Overall: Organization of files, emails, calendars and contacts into one centralized location. It's also easy to share data between users.

Pros: - the way all my information is linked
- the search engine is powerful, I can find the info I need easily
- user friendly, don't need to read the user manual before being able to use it
- great customer service

Cons: - the lack of (free) detailed references to learn how to customize my reports
- no possibilities to change the font size in the different windows

Pros: Allows me to store all my contact communications and relationships to me so that I can efficiently respond to any questions as well as send out notices. For example I have a patient category that I can send group communications regarding treatments and government subsidies as well as I can send group emails to other traders regarding our outcomes. The program does a lot to systematize the information provided over the Internet and as such is a very valuable if not essential hub of my business. I am particularly appreciative of the support that I get which includes staff logging on and showing me on my computer what I need to do.

Cons: I have been using Daylite for several years now and have become accustomed to working with it. Difficulties have arisen typically in synchronizing the Daylite database with other programs such as Apple Mail.

Overall: Systematic integration of information technology. Can be used in a variety of circumstances from professional storage information to family documents.

Comments: Anymore, there are simply better CRM programs for a Mac. A few years ago, Daylite was the best of the worst. The software and app were full of bugs and complicated tech solutions to ensure data synced. I had this weird bug where my tasks would not delete and Daylite support knew the problem existed for customers but forced people to upgrade to a newer version instead of fixing the bug. It's an overall wonky system for an expensive price, and that was fine 5 years ago but better software and apps now fill the market for CRMs.

Hi Jenson We are sorry to hear that your experience with Daylite was not a positive one. We work hard to make sure our customers love Daylite and we take your comments seriously. The reason your issue wasn't fixed in 4 was that Apple dropped support on the SDK Daylite 4 was programmed in. To submit updates to the app store developers had to use the new SDK which meant a complete rewrite. Daylite 4's development cycle had ended so we can not invest in rewriting it. This allowed us to focus on the newest technologies available and continue to move Daylite in the future. While we still believe this was the right decision we are sorry that you were affected by it. Syncing was a common complaint of earlier versions and why we developed Daylite Cloud. Each server environment was different, and made syncing a challenge. With Daylite Cloud that is a thing of the past as we manage all that for you. If you give Daylite Cloud a shot we are confident you'll be very happy with the updates!

Pros: It is tightly integrated with Apple hardware and software, so it just works the way that you need and expect it to. This is a truly full-featured CRM/project management system/opportunity tracking system that is capable of the configurations, customizations, and integrations of systems that cost 3-4 times as much.

Cons: The blessing and the curse is that it is Mac-only. That makes it able to work as well as you'd expect a native Mac app to work, but it obviously limits your hardware choice and eliminates the possibility of sharing the CRM cross-platform. The performance and stability gains are well worth it in my opinion, but it is nonetheless a limitation.

Overall: My use case: small consulting firm that has been in business for 3 years. We use Daylite for customer relationship management, project & task management, calendar/resource management, as an applicant tracking system for our executive recruitment line of business, opportunity tracking, correspondence, etc.

Prior to using Daylite, we ran the Salesforce platform and if you are willing to commit to the Apple/Mac ecosystem, Daylite is simply so much better than anything else that we have tried for the variety of tasks above. Not only was our previous solution almost 3x the cost, it was much more difficult to use, to customize, and to generate employee buy-in to actually use the system.

Because this is a Mac-only product, it integrates extremely well and any Mac user will find it very intuitive. The data is in the cloud, but the application sits on my machine. This allows for the excellent reliability and off-line usability of a desktop application with the security, standardization, and data-recovery benefits of the cloud.

Obviously, because it is Mac-only, I can't get a seat for one of my partners/contractors unless either they or I am willing to invest to get them into the Apple ecosystem. Not a problem internally for my company, but it is a limitation that can best be described as the blessing and curse of Daylite. I am certain that if it was a web-based or cross-platform software, it would not integrate as tightly and there would be more performance issues. Its not something that I consider a fatal flaw as I am fully invested in the Apple ecosystem, but is a limitation for scalability.

In the few instances where I have had a support issue come up, I'd place MarketCircle's support team right at the top of software support teams that I have ever dealt with. They spend the time necessary to understand the problem, find the solution, and communicate fully and quickly. What more can you ask for?

If you are looking for a small/medium-sized business CRM that (for my use case) far exceeds the usability and functionality of Salesforce at a fraction of the cost, and you are committed the the Apple ecosystem, I cannot recommend Daylite highly enough.

Pros: Great customer support.

Cons: A bit slow to come up with new functionality.

Overall: I've been using Daylite since 2004 and it has been a great asset to our business. Specificity there is no better way to keep track of your relationships.

The only thing we would like to see, is an easier way to track Text Messages.

Comments: We have been using Daylite for all our marketing activities as a CRM and it has been fantastic! Probably the best thing about it is its functionality and features - every company can mould it to its needs and make it as simple or as complex. The only thing that could be improved is customer support, since the company is based in the US, it lacks timely support for Europe-based companies.

Pros: Flexibility, endless set-up possibilities, offline access, task management abilities (keywording is awesome)

Cons: not being able to have activity tasks auto-start at a certain date without setting up a task as a reminder

Overall: I've used Daylite for many years (long enough to remember how excited I was when Daylite Touch came out) and although the set-up took some brainstorming/planning because there is a myriad of possibilities for workflow management, it was well worth the investment. This product is versatile, robust and accommodating. I use it primarily for GTD and project planning for my accounting practice. It is my one-stop shop for organizing my time, tasks and deliverables. The customer service over the years has been improving with its response-times and helpfulness. It was great when I first started using Daylite and has exponentially improved since then. I cannot imagine my practice without Daylite.

Recommendations to other buyers: It is definitely a more steep than average learning curve but well worth it in the end to spend the time.

Pros: This app is being used to track leads, and tasks associated with the leads.

Cons: Custom reporting is a little difficult to setup, but hopefulyl you have an admin or analyst who will set it, and you wont need to touch it again.

Overall: The app is a great tool for shared colloboration, with an easy to use shared contacts, objectives, calendar and tasks list. For a sales team, this is an excellent tool for keeping all members working off one database. The app syncs a copy locally, so you can work offlien as well.

With almost all my communications and new business coming through my email accounts, Daylite Mail Assistant can help me organize my business and personal life all from Apple Mail. If you like David Allen's "Getting Things Done," you will love how Daylite makes it easy to apply those principles and steps.

Comments: Great software for managing my daily calls and contact with leads, prospects and customers!

My favorite part is how the e-mail is integrated within Daylite. As I send an e-mail to a customer I am able to save the interaction in Daylite for future reference. It also stores any attachments I might have sent.

Comments: Our wedding photography business has been using Daylite since 2011, and without it we¿re not sure where we¿d be. Our customer services benefits from intuitive features such as email integration, our projects can easily be streamlined due to the ease of pipeline setups, and we¿re always prepared for upcoming tasks due to the simple calendar setup. Comments: I couldn't run my business without Daylite.

You need to invest some time in the setup phase - there are lots of templates to get you started or help you out - but once you are up and running the program is great.

We use it to store client information, supplier information, file details, documents and dates. All information is available at the click of your mouse - or if I'm out of the office - on iPhone or iPad.

I like the activity sets - these allow you to program in a series of key dates and link them to a client or a file - it is a great risk management tool for lawyers.

The tasks function is something I use daily - particularly the ability to set reminders, delegations, link files etc.

We export Daylite information to our Billings Pro app - it saves duplicating data entry.

We've called on customer service a number of times when we have encountered problems - the support is always prompt (even taking into account time zone differences) and it is clear they are there to get you back up and running as quickly as possible.

If you run your business on Apple then I highly recommend Daylite.

The best Mac OS X CRM on the market. Essential.

Comments: Our office uses Daylite to manage a small law firm. The ability to link projects (matters), people, notes, email, events, and tasks together interchangeably has incredible value. Daylite's biggest value to us is this feature; I can pull up a case and see all people, notes, and events associated with it in a glance. It also makes reviewing a case history very easy, removing the need to search multiple places.

Further, Daylite's improved search feature makes finding specific notes, emails, or client data extremely easy. The learning curve on the software is relatively shallow, so new employees are brought easily up to speed on usage. On the balance, this is great software that has continued to evolve in useful ways over the years.

The only Con that I have about Daylite is that it still requires a physical central server for synchronization. We maintain a firewalled Mac Mini, which admittedly could be outsourced for a monthly fee. However, it would be nice if Daylite cloud materialized, removing the need to keep a server running 24/7 for this purpose.

Comments: I run an small sales and marketing company - 15 employees. Daylite allows us each to focus on our own strengths, and to handle many-more opportunities and projects with a small team. Most importantly, it allows us to measure our successes and failures, to take chances on new processes, and to invest in methods that prove to be successful.

I conservatively give Daylite a value of two additional sales people, in our organization.

There's a learning curve, to be sure. When we started with Daylite in 2006, we initially used only contacts and calendar, but we now use almost all of the features. Our income and growth have tripled since we've started with Daylite; far outpacing our industry's average.

Comments: My 2 cents from the perspective of a small Medical Recruitment business:

Pros: intelligent workflow out of the box, comes with decent tools for a small to medium size business environment. Effective team tasking and data syncing. Seems relatively secure and is a stable software platform.

Ample 3rd party development for reports, plugins and such.

Cons: Limited ability to automate the outbound call process (very limited auto-dialer) Cannot link some items (Project to Project, for example).

Comments: I have been using Daylite in my business and personal life for over ten years. This CRM has helped me keep very detailed information about clients, projects while running a complex calendar. Daylite was built for productivity right from the start and that is what attracted me in the first place. The linking of people, projects, opportunities, task, files, notes is the strong point of this software. Being able to link emails within the application and get them out of your inbox for later reference is a huge. This is so helpful having all the info under one client/project or event. Daylite can be a little difficult for people to learn but well worth the investment in learning. Take the trial run for 30 days and I think you will see the value and won't know how you did business without this great tool.
