Pros: Greenhouse has an ever expanding list of integration partners as well as an open API offering flexibility in building our recruiting tech stack as well as adding on new integrations quickly via the API.

Cons: While Greenhouse's built in reporting feature provides far greater depth than most ATS platforms, there's a need for clear copy around what data is pulled and how to build trust in reports.

Thrilled with Greenhouse! Can't imagine running our structured hiring approach without it.

Pros: I love that Greenhouse is well designed by people who really understand and care about recruiting and hiring best practice. I love most everything about it, but especially the attention to all the critical parts of getting a job design and interview process right, like scorecards and interview kits.

Cons: I know there's a Greenhouse CRM coming, but it would be even better to have included a more seamless way of nurturing prospects.

Pros: - Completely owns the process from job creation to posting, applications, interviews, and offer.
- The scorecards are my favourite part. It helps build accountability and transparency into the pass/fail world of interviews
- Amazing customer support
- Good degree of cusomization
- As an HR/People Manager, I can oversee many processes without having to constantly check in with my hiring managers/interviewers.

Cons: - It's not cheap, definitely an investment
- Mobile version is okay for interviewers, but it's non-existent for admins

Overall, our experience has been quite positive. We have seen a lot of growth in the product.

Cons: - While not a total con - scheduling - trying to find internal room availability is not as intuitive as we would like (not as intuitive as using Google Calendar to find the rooms outside of GH) - other than that massive improvement to scheduling
- Rejection notifications if people have gone through a stage in our process - we may be the anomaly as our hiring managers handle most of the recruiting process where us as recruiters facilitate the process and schedule interviews

Pros: most intuitive software we've used for acquisition/tracking, makes it easy to scale our team when there is so much else to focus on

Cons: sometimes integrations can be a bit challenging/glitchy, but the support received more than makes up for it

Pros: Ease of Use, Constant Feature Additions (That make sense), Customer Support/Success has been top notch, ability to train new recruiters, employees and managers in short period of time. Ability to analyze metrics and dig deeper via google sheets integrations.

Cons: The only complaint we have is that calendar invites do not have automatic reminders. Whenever we think of a new feature that would be awesome, unprompted it is added within a few weeks of our internal discussions.

Straight forward, user friendly system! Team has picked up the tool easily.

Pros: Easy to use, understand and navigate. Nice design. Bulk actions. Reports (looking forward to customizable reports!!). Boolean search doable. Easy to tag candidates or write notes that are searchable.

Cons: Dashboard "My Applications" should be different per user - so for Hiring Managers just showing Hiring Manager Review, and for Recruiters showing stages they own. You cannot re-reject candidates if rejected without email the first time and need to now send email. Recruiters do not have access to view all candidates, but only candidates associated to their jobs. You cannot do phone screens on prospects unless you convert them to a candidate - not helpful if you need to do a phone screen (and want to save notes in their profile) to determine if you should change them to an active candidate. No split screen when viewing interview kit - easier to conduct interview if you can see resume and scorecard questions side by side.

Overall: The ability to have our entire recruiting process in one place. Helps with hiring decisions that are consistent, as well as helped us implement diversity/inclusion measures. The team is now able to follow processes within one system.

User friendly, candidate friendly, hiring manager friendly.

Pros: Scorecards are great, the scheduling functionality and the ease of moving candidates through the hiring process.

Cons: There are some minor things that could be tweaked, our Account Manager is always happy to put our requests into the product team.

Pros: Greenhouse allows our organization to streamline our hiring process. From applications to interview feedback to offer creation, everything is much simpler since implementing Greenhouse.

The best feature, for me, is the interview kits and feedback. It allows us to set up interviewers for success during interviews and make sure we have consistent selection criteria. Also, the scorecards make gathering feedback much easier, I don't have to chase down hiring managers anymore.

Throughout the buying and implementation process, everyone at Greenhouse was great to work with. They were transparent with pricing, worked within my expectations and timelines and did a great job helping me through the implementation process. I have now purchased and implemented Greenhouse at my last two organizations.

Cons: I think the one area that can be improved/added is more features focused on nurturing previous candidates.

Pros: The system is very flexible and quite intuitive. The screening tool helps saving a lot of time and communications with candidates and the hiring team is quick and easy. The recruitment pipeline can be tailored for each recruitment and all the interview notes or test results are stored on the candidate profile. Reporting options cover all the information you need to understand your recruitment trends. The system also facilitates referral schemes, panel creation, internal job board and multiple job board if you have different branches.

Cons: As with any systems, there are always small details that could be changed to suit personal preferences. The interview notes once exported in pdf could be better designed and I would like to have more options for the interviewer profile. The phone app has recently been updated and most functions are now available - hopefully the next upgrade will include the possibility to email candidates!

I love using Greenhouse, it makes our processes run smoother and let's me get more done!

Pros: I like that a lot of it is customizable, I can adjust the platform to our needs and processes. It makes it easy to send out reminders to interviewers and keep everyone on track or share notes. I love that it integrates with gmail as well and google calendar which makes everything easier to get done.

Cons: There are definitely a lot of improvements that could be made to make the software even better - for example, when working with external recruiters they often want to be cc'ed on candidate communication but there is no option to set that as a default in Greenhouse. I would also love the option to hide candidate names during resume review so we can work on our diversity efforts more thoroughly.

Pros: Greenhouse has allowed me to overhaul our sourcing, recruiting and hiring programs, and has positioned us for immense growth. In just over 15 months since launching Greenhouse we went from 38 people to just over 80!

Cons: There are still some areas where you have to change things twice manually or it won't be updated, still small bugs here and there, and some of the integrations aren't as simple as made out to be. But the platform is still new and I have been impressed working with the people and the company.

Greenhouse is a real enabler of internal talent aquisition

Pros: Mobile App is great for reaching people on the Go! The ability to allow hiring managers to see the back end is great. Also bakes in approval flows and allows for custom tracking links.

Cons: reporting is clunky when you work with GSuite and ability to nurture silver medalists is poor (tags are not helpful)

Pros: Automates the recruiting process, helps us recruit at scale. All recruiters that we hire like using it, so helps them get excited to work here. Intuitive to use.

Cons: There are so many options in the set up, took us a while to optimize our process and get the full value of the software.

Overall: Efficiency gains, tracking referrals and prospects, faster time to hire.

Pros: Greenhouse is great. It's very customizable to your recruiting operation while providing clear guidance on how to best organize your operation. This improves your candidate/interviewer experience while maximizing your data/analytics and workflows. Their customer service team is top notch. They're friendly and helpful and always solution oriented. There's so much I personally like that I'll just have to list a few (in no particular order):

- Offer Workflows (with approvals)
- Job Setup
- Customizable Options (Offer details, Job details, Tags, Candidate details)
- Greenhouse Analytics (Okay I lied, this is my favorite)
- Employee Dashboard
- Referral Process (Posting to social media, tracking, organizing referrals as a referrer)

Cons: There isn't a lot not to like. Greenhouse is growing fast and their software is evident of that at times. There are some legacy situations that they've chosen not to prioritize (like bulk updating approvals on jobs) with their engineering time, but though the solution today is time consuming, they're obviously making progress to minimize the pains. When you use Greenhouse, you're using a tool that does more than track candidates, it helps you interview better and it helps your team become more confident in their hiring decisions. So, of course that opens the door for growing pains as they scale and learn what their customers need.

On a more technical side. The way they've designed their API doesn't always make the most sense. They provide some resources to understand it better but until you're neck deep into when candidate_ID and application_ID are used and what historical information is connected to each, it's a bit like learning a new language.

It's been a great partnership!

Pros: This is the most intuitive and well thought out ATS that I've used and we consistently receive that same feedback from within the TA team and from the business that we support. The Greenhouse product team is very forward thinking and receptive and it shows in the frequent releases. The interview kits, easy integrations, approvals, referral tool and the mobile app have all shaped the way our team works. We've also had a great experience with our Account Director, which can make all the difference.

Cons: The biggest con for us would be the basic reports. We quickly outgrew them and needed to move to an in-house solution.

I've used Greenhouse to recruit for both Qubit & PlayQ and have had a great experience!

Pros: I like how customizable and detailed the platform is. Each job dashboard is informative and aesthetically pleasing.

Cons: The prospecting and pipeline building feature and /or tools. It should be easier to import candidates from LinkedIn and track their journey.

Pros: I like to say Greenhouse is the "Mac" of ATS programs.... with an app that you can download, and easy scorecards to fill it, it couldn't be easier for our teams to use.

Cons: Customer service seems to have dwindled a little since we first implemented it a year ago - the chat feature was online more frequently. Also, it's hard to post a job in multiple markets without doing multiple reqs - a feature I know they are working to address.

Overall: Better ATS, Referral platform, Centralized Scorecards/easy to fill out

I manage hiring for a large org whose staff numbers fluctuate wildly, and Greenhouse keeps me sane!

Pros: The fact that several staff members can work together as a hiring team and that you can move candidates from one role to another, as well as merge duplicates.

Cons: I think the toughest thing is getting my colleagues to use it to its full extent. Training would probably help.

Pros: How flexible and customizable it is, particularly with regards to the scorecard for each job. The scorecard helps me guide the hiring team to focus on the right things and creates a consistent data set to consider with each decision.

- Built around the idea of a structured interview process, which helps us make data-driven decisions
- UI is intuitive and easy to navigate
- Customer support is top notch - responsive, friendly, and knowledgeable
- They continually roll out new features and improvements, largely based on feedback from their user community

Cons: - There are a lot of reports that come with the system, but no option to build custom reports from scratch
- Managing prospects is a bit messy and often creates duplicates. We've adopted a Talent CRM (Beamery) to help us better manage prospects and talent pools.

Overall Greenhouse has been instrumental in improving our hiring efforts.

Pros: The reporting functionality has been great. It allows us more visibility into our efforts and better communication. In addition, the scorecard aspect is my favorite. I love being able to provide our interviewers with everything they need in one spot.

Cons: There are still a few bugs in the system. Have provided some suggestions along the way and appreciate the level of customer service when providing that feedback.

Greenhouse has been a great tool for us. It meets our needs for recruiting in multiple areas.

Pros: The software has so many capabilities that it can really be molded for use in any industry. If I have a want or an item on my wishlist, our account manager can usually find a way in the system to make it happen for us, and fit our needs. Greenhouse has really proven to be effective in each of the different areas of our business.

Cons: There are so many features and permission levels for users that it can be confusing. I have had to have a few refreshers with the team to remind them how to do things in the system.

Overall: A more comprehensive ATS that fits the needs for our different recruiting teams.

Greenhouse is a wonderfully usable, flexible ATS with some CRM capabilities

Pros: It lets me be creative. I can post what I need and it does not give me a limit on what I want. I also really like the chat function. They help me a lot when I have small issues.

Cons: It's difficult to keep things organized. If you are not on top of what you want out of the platform it can get very messy and hard to read very easily.

Pros: Having the scores of all the interviewers in one place is great! Also nice to parse a resume when employees are submitting a referral. Easy and fast for them.

Cons: Probably the automatic email feature. Sometimes it feels like there is crucial information that is not part of the message.

Overall: Simplifying the tracking of candidates and interviews.

On-your-own implementation but very good system. Easy to navigate (once you learn it).

Pros: Easy to maneuver; facilitates interaction between hiring manager and recruiting team; engages all employees; good reporting capabilities

Cons: Very little assistance during implementation which was rough since I am a stand-alone HR manager. Project Plan is provided but it would have been helpful to have a hands-on implementation manager to walk through the steps. We were assigned one but she dropped off after a couple of weeks and I had to specifically reach out with very specific questions. Most of the time the answers were "user error" which isn't surprising since I was trying to figure it out. The On-boarding module was the same experience. Engagement upfront but trails off when you move further along -- when you need it most -- at launch/conversion time!

Pros: Nice interface, easy to learn, took 30 seconds to set up an account

Cons: It wasn't very scalable. We had to switch to another recruiting software about a year later as our company got larger. It was also much more expensive than a Taleo, even.

Overall: We had this software to refer new employees. It has an extremely adorable interface and made it very easy to refer friends.

Recommendations to other buyers: Really good for small companies that want to encourage employees to refer friends.

Comments: We use Greenhouse as our ATS and it's a great way to keep all our applicants in the same place, with their resumes and profiles. Anyone in the company can access what they need from there. It's also great to be able to schedule interviews and move candidates through the application process.

Comments: Greenhouse does a superb job of applicant tracking - you can tag folks on the hiring team in the comments as you review, can set multiples stages and steps, search text and resumes!

The one thing I'd love is to have the search field expand through the applicant questions!

Comments: I've used Greenhouse for both referrals and interview scheduling. I love how I am quickly able to pull up a resume on the fly which is something I always forget to do before an interview (oops). I also appreciate being able to see a history of referrals so I can keep track of everyone I've spoken to. This is incredibly helpful as new opportunities show up over time and I want to go back and make sure I revisit the people I've already interviewed who may be better for a new role. Thank you Greenhouse!

Overall: I have 10+ years of experience in the Talent Acquisition space and I've used just about every ATS you can think about, from the monsters (Taleo, SilkRoad, etc.) to the startups (Jazz, Lever, Jobvite).

I've never felt compelled to write an online review before, but I'd never been blown away by a recruiting tool before either.

Out of everything we've been working on this year nothing has had a more dramatic an impact on my team's success than our switch to Greenhouse last year. For me, it's the everyday workflow and productivity improvements, the confidence that we're focusing our efforts in the right place, the pride that we're more on top of it all than any other recruiting tam I know.

I don't know how I survived without their incredible reports - I can give the CEO the hard data showing why we need the funding we do, or how much we've improved since the previous quarter, or what we need to do to prepare for the hires we'll be making in 6 months...

Even just seeing how the HM's actually use it and knowing they're on the exact same page as the recruiters has been a dream come true.

Pros: The ease of use really makes this product stand out. The ability to flow through the different stages makes moving people through pipelines a really simple process.

Cons: There are a few cases where one is sorting through candidates in process and interacting with their profiles will take you out of the the sorting list making it where you have to re-search the candidates to find them again.

Overall: I've used multiple ATS's as a recruiter and this is one of the better one's out there. It has a lot of integration functionality and a few chrome extensions to help with prospecting and data imports. The workflow of everything is pretty good as well. It's really easy to organize notes and having interview scorecards makes saving details during the interview a simple process.

Recommendations to other buyers: I would say keep on improving the product and maybe improve the self help section, there's a lot of outdated information from previous versions.

Comments: Greenhouse doesn't have the most intuitive UI, but it does a decent job of applicant tracking. Hiring managers and teams can collaborate in real time to vet resumes, provide feedback and monitor applicant responses via the web app.

Comments: We had a very bare bones system in place prior to implementing Greenhouse and have been amazed with the functionality and ease that has come with the system. With very little training our team was able to jump in and start using in no time. Our account rep is amazing and so quick to help us with questions even when they are outside his scope of role. We are continuing to find new features everyday that have made us so much more efficient in our roles daily!

Comments: Choosing Greenhouse over other ATS's was difficult. It had by far the steepest price tag, but I would never go back. In just 2 months we decreased the amount of time a candidate stayed in our hiring pipeline by over half!

Greenhouse has intuitive calendar integrations that takes all of the difficulty out of scheduling interviews. It has also given our hiring managers the freedom to build a pipeline that works best for their department, and the job they're hiring for. Finally, Greenhouse has helped to bring referrals into our cultural lexicon with its social media integrations and simple referral process.

Comments: PROS:
The way it allows for easy team collaboration and the level of customization available when it comes to developing internal interview processes. The hiring process for each role can be as simple or complex as it needs to be. The client support resources are also as good as it gets.

CONS:
Just like every other SaaS company, there are features that could be added but it's just a matter of getting them on the product road map. I feel they do a great job of listening to product improvement suggestions and providing a realistic expectation whether it's feasible and a possible timeframe.

There are a lot of ATS options out there. Greenhouse might be on the high end cost-wise, but you get what you pay for.

Love Greenhouse. I bring it with me everywhere.

Comments: Greenhouse is one of the best ATS systems I have used in my 10 years of being in HR. I find it easy to use, train folks on, and have hiring teams use on day to day basis. It's easy to setup multiple locations, with very different hiring teams, and lots of users. The approval process in greenhouse gives confidence to our leadership team in regards to offers. The one feature that needs slight improvement is reporting.

Unlike other applicant tracking systems, Greenhouse is built to make life easier for the primary users of the system - recruiters and interviewers. It's a software that understands the work habits of it's primary users and is designed to reduce friction in the 4 areas where recruiters and interviewers typically spend most of their time; candidate management, scheduling, feedback, and reporting.

Since Greenhouse was designed to focus on these 4 areas, it is the strength of the system. While other products may have more features, they all fail to do the basics extremely well - a place where Greenhouse separates itself from the rest of the pack. Personally, I'll take useful/functional over shiny any day of the week.

Built in reporting could be more robust although there's a new integration with Redshift and Tableau. Some of the other product integrations are a bit light weight although I think a lot of this could (or can) be addressed through the API.

The pricing structure isn't friendly for companies that are under 25 people or does not intend to grow to over 25+ in the near future. It's great for everyone else.

Comments: The three of the most important things we look for in evaluating ATS tools are
1. Good UI/UX
2. Integrations with the tools we use / customization of the platform
3. Reporting capabilities
Greenhouse delivers in all three of these area.

Greenhouse has a great user experience. It is extremely intuitive and easy to use, not just for our recruiting team but for our hiring managers and our interviewers, who get limited, if any, training.
Another thing we love about it is how organized it keeps us. It gives you all the tools you need to visualize and implement a process so it's easier to stick to one. For example, setting up a job prompts you for important information that make it easy for your interviewers to do their job and evaluate fairly and efficiently.

It's also very easy to work with agencies, integrate with partners, and use the Greenhouse API to create custom workflows for your needs. We actually automated a written exam we send out to our engineers using their API.

Through our use, the Greenhouse team has bee super responsive and knowledgeable.

Hands down, best ATS I've ever used.

Greenhouse ensures my team is aligned on characteristics we're looking for and it helps me by tying every part of our process to an action. No one gets lost in the shuffle, and we are able to move quickly with stellar candidates. Beyond just the great software (that my whole team loves -- easy to get buy-in with hiring managers!) the Greenhouse support team is smart and helpful. It has a number of great thing that are very "next level" such as the "How to Sell this job" field, tagging people in the notes area, being able to copy a previous job when you are populating a new one, how easy it is to edit anything. The user experience is just great. I could go on. Perhaps the most powerful feature is the ability to build scorecards that are customized for your particular hires, so that you can optimize and use data to be more effectively as you get going. Love it!

Comments: Coming from another (not to be named) ATS, Greenhouse was easier for my recruiting team to learn intuitively. That said, there is also an immense amount of support and documentation to help with internal training.

Also, the ease of use on the part of the interviewers has been positive. Once you've done the work setting up scorecards and making sure that information is accurate, interviewers know exactly what they're evaluating during the interview. Furthermore, if they're not able to submit scorecards for some reason, you can submit a scorecard on someone's behalf.

Something to think of as you start using Greenhouse is what data are you going to want to capture, and what is essential to keep that data's integrity?
Also, there are so many features in the product, your employees that refer candidates can follow candidates and get real time information as candidates move through the process. You can customize the interview kits and help the calibrate interviewers as you look at the data.
I'd say spend time delving into the product and think about how you want to use it for a bit before you launch, and prep accordingly (with interview kits, scorecards, etc.,). That will definitely help you in the future.

Comments: Greenhouse has excellent UserExperience. It is clean, beautiful and easy to use. As a new and growing company, there are a few things that need to be optimized, but for every feature I have asked them about, they have been open and receptive to taking feedback, and are either working on to improve the experience already, or are open to putting it on a feature request list.

Their customer service is exceptional. I have been able to set up 30 minute weekly meetings to learn, grow, and consistently expand on how we use Greenhouse at BuzzFeed. I loved working with them, and would recommend their product to every business that works with a high volume of recruiting.

Can't wait for the mobile optimized version of this product!

Comments: Greenhouse has quite simply been a dream come true. Prior to adopting Greenhouse, we would spend countless administrative hours managing applicants via a multitude of manual processes. With all this being automated now, we can re-invest those hours back into the business, which is tremendous. Greenhouse also helps to enforce a structured interview process, helping to ensure that we evaluate every candidate uniformly.

All in all this is one of the few tools where my delight increased between the sales process to implementation. It truly was better than expected. There are a few usability quirks here and there, but it is a young product and I am sure those will get ironed out over time. The customer service team is also top notch. They are very friendly folks who are truly eager to help. How refreshing!

11/10 would buy again.

Comments: Greenhouse has been instrumental in getting my company's recruiting process on track. We have a lot of young/new interviewers, so the Interview Kits have become a critical part of our process. The tool is so easy to use so adoption was pretty flawless with both our Recruiting team and Interviewers. Also, Greenhouse actually drives decision making by only giving interviewers a Yes or No option. There is no Maybe. It's awesome.

The system also makes it really easy to manage a Recruiter's heavy workload, giving every Recruiter a snapshot of where candidates are in the process. The email templates are a great timesaver. The system integrates flawlessly with Google Apps, making scheduling a breeze which is critical because we don't have any Coordinators on my team. Reporting is pretty solid and I know new features are in the works.

Lastly, Greenhouse is a great company to work with. I feel like my Account Manager, Nannan Hu, is a true partner not a "vendor". I've had the pleasure of meeting many of the Greenhouse team at the Recruiting Optimization Summit in San Francisco and everyone is incredibly, humble, kind, and absolutely passionate about their customers' success.

So far, we love Greenhouse!

Comments: Customer Support: Greenhouse has a built in customer support chat box where you can chat live with someone for assistance. If no one is available then you can always send them an email support request. They usually get back to all requests within a few days and are great at making sure all questions are resolved. Also, all your requests are logged in a ticket system so you can reference them later if needed.

Thumbs Up: Personally, my favorite thing about this product is it is designed to work in the way you would expect to recruit, has an elegant user interface, and is very easy to use. However, as much as I love the product, the icing on this cake is the vendor's customer support and passion for their product. They are super responsive to feedback and continually work to improve it from the user's perspective.

Thumbs Down: I submit a lot of feedback regarding this product and would love a road-map of upcoming product enhancements. Greenhouse has an active Trello board for this, but I am not sure if it is up to date.

Recommendations: When you are evaluating an Applicant Tracking System make sure to try it out before you commit to it. Make sure you have a variety of individuals try it out and participating in demos (Hiring Managers, Recruiters, Recruiting Coordinators, and hopefully the systems admin who would manage the product). If you can't try something before purchasing it then it will be difficult to determine if it is the right product for your organization. Also, make sure to ask everyone if they would enjoy using the potential new system (if people won't use it properly then it won't add a ton of value).

Comments: I'm 20 years in recruiting and Greenhouse is easily the best ATS I've ever used...and I worked for a company that sold an ATS earlier in my career. It's an easy learn - very intuitive - a recruiter can pick it up on their own in just a few hours max. Recruiters use Greenhouse not because they have to, which is the case for literally every other ATS out there - but they use it because it helps them do their job well. Interview feedback, scheduling, correspondance - it's all in there. They have a ton of pre-built reports as well. Highly recommend.

Comments: Over the years, I've used a number of ATS products. They've all let me down. When I took over recruiting for Thumbtack, I decided to research new recruiting tools and came across Greenhouse. Greenhouse just works - it's super intuitive and works like it was created by a recruiter. I no longer have to have a million spreadsheets and Google docs all over the place as I can keep track of all my candidates through Greenhouse. My recruiting team, hiring manager, and interviews also like using it. So often I hear that the other parts of a business refuse to use its ATS, so recruiters have to manually enter much of the candidate data back into the system. In addition providing a great product, the Greenhouse team is super responsive. I've pinged them numerous times with questions and requests, and they've always gotten back to me in a timely manner. Solid product with a solid team behind it to help you along the way.

Comments: We implemented Greenhouse two months ago, and went into our relationship with Greenhouse holding impossibly high standards. So far, Greenhouse has met or exceeded them all.

It manages the end-to-end hiring (not just applicant tracking) process in an intuitive, elegant way, that delights me as both a software geek and as a recruiting manager. Moreover, though, it delights our interviewers and hiring managers, who are no longer begrudging participants in the hiring process, but engaged and happy champions of it.

Beyond having built an elegant product, Greenhouse has one of the most responsive, helpful, empathetic and action-prone support teams I've ever worked with. I can ping our account manager (or the CEO) and get a (helpful) response within minutes. They are completely transparent about their product roadmap and actively solicit customer feedback to be continuously improving the product.

No more of the proverbial cursing the ATS. Greenhouse does #allthethings in an intuitive, automated way. It has alleviated the necessity for a lot of our disparate third-party hack solutions and processes, and integrates with all the third-party tools that are invaluable to our process. It's the best investment I've made since I started recruiting.
