Pros: I do like the user interface for than some other automation platforms, they're pricing structure works well for us, and you don't have to buy tons of add ons to get full functionality you should definitely have in marketing automation like paid search, seo, and social tools

Cons: This software isn't as customizable as it could be, would like to be able to use query string parameters and lookup fields for custom objects

Pros: I love the engagement program it's easy to set up and the reporting features tell me what's working and what's not.

Cons: The customer service hasn't been the best since they removed the chat support feature. Now the only support is via email or open hours.

Good platform if you don't need robust features.

Pros: I like that it is Integrated with Salesforce. I also appreciate the value and features you get for the price.

Cons: I would appreciate if the dynamic content functionality was more robust. I find that it is lacking in comparison to other platforms.

Pros: I like that it's easy to track the data behind reports. For instance, the email data reports are very valuable for me to analyze trends and best practices.

Cons: I do NOT like the email builder within pardot. It's super complicated to build a good looking email and we frequently have to using CSS coding to make changes to the templates.

Pros: I like the insights that you get from sent emails. It's not better than many of the tools out there but I appreciate the simplicity of the reports that surface only the data you need.

Cons: Pardot jargon is different than other tools terms for marketing automation.

When something breaks, it's hard to identify and even harder to fix

Programatizing emails is harder than it should be. And having to create multiple email templates seems inefficient.

Overall: It's cheap. Like almost free with our SFDC subscription. Makes it hard to rip and replace when you're a small team.

A very robust marketing automation tool that gives you multi-level insights.

Pros: It has tons of features and allows you to set completely automate client acquisition, connecting with the Salesforce CRM. Salespersons don't even need to get involved until the prospect is primed and ready.

Cons: It take a LONG time to master this one and the customer service on the product is horrible. You have an account exec that's supposed to be your point of contact and I highly suggest you contact them before calling the outsourced help line.

Great marketing automation tool, but lack of support has lead to issues.

Pros: The marketing automation features are best in class. They allow any larger marketing department to be more efficient and effective. The program is easy enough to use for anyone who has ever done any marketing email or automation and the program can be a great tool.

Cons: Getting customer support has been problematic. My company has issues with email delivery to certain ISPs and we have reached out to Pardot for help on several occasions. We have not received too much help.

Pros: We have fully implemented Pardot into our sales and marketing teams. We use everything from landing pages, forms, custom redirects, email templates, email automation, and their gmail plugin. It does¿t meet our sales and marketing requirements.

Cons: In less than one year we have opened 42 support tickets with Pardot. Many with no resolution. After determining that the product simply doesn't work we are transitioning to their competitors. Pardot is still forcing us to pay licensing fees even though their product failed to function. Do not use.

Stand Out Issues:
- The Gmail plugin simply doesn't work. Activity is not consistently logged in SalesForce. We have reported the technical issue many times to their support.
- They cap uploaded assets (Ex: images) at 100 MB storage. This is ridiculous. When we hit the cap they wanted to charge us 4K to increase storage.
- Poor reporting on emails:
* Missing data on 1:1 emails. Direct emails sent via the Gmail plug-in.
* CTR doesn¿t show for under 1% in engagement studio > Requires us to click down into each email template to pull report and export details to do a side by side comparison
* There are no reports generated for engagement studio (only drip programs - old feature now retired)
- Can't track replies on emails > can¿t gauge performance
- Recurring issues with Engage in Gmail and Engage Alerts (holds up the sales team from their day-to-day tasks)
- Poor UX in Engage via gmail for sales team (cannot organize 1:1 templates by folder)
- Limited on engage logic, can only use prospect fields. We can't use opportunity or account data in automation.

Pros: I like the engagement studio, and the overall general features of Pardot. The user interface is very good.

Cons: It's missing some key features that Hubspot has - or has very pared down versions of those features.

Overall: It's a great marketing automation platform. I think it's probably truly amazing for people who use Salesforce because you'd have a full integration. For me, it's the second best platform I've used - Hubspot has some standout features that work for me that Pardot's missing. But overall, this is a great product that's relatively easy to use (as marketing automation platforms go), and it should definitely make anyone's short list.

Pros: Pardot automated the prospect warming process. We've set it up to respond to quotes, alert internal staff and add them to a mailing list. The mailing list is the automated and changes based on their actions. Eg. if they enquire about product A in a week we send a follow up email about product A. If they click a link in the email we send them a second follow up the next day. If they didn't open the email then we send them an email about product B a week later.

Cons: The biggest drawback is Pardot works best with Salesforce. We have salesforce and it's great but for people without salesforce it might be an added expense.

Pros: If a great lead automation system wasn't good enough as it is, try adding that to a CRM that is pioneering the industry. Pardot packs all the power of the SFDC platform into a lead automation platform.

Cons: The user experience matches Salesforce and can be a little stale. The ability to customize screens and pages with point and click tech would be nice.

Pros: email marketing templates are helpful and time-saving

Cons: emails end up in spam folders much too often; cannot say with confidence that it is worth the money.

Overall: I have used Pardot for several years, but it stills leaves some to be desired. While the distinctions are clear, it doesn't seem to offer a marked advantage over free email clients, especially for a SMB.

Recommendations to other buyers: improve baseline functionality to the point that it has a clear advantage over free solutions on the market.

Comments: We have the Pardot integration with Salesforce. Our marketing team uploads marketing material into our client base. I'm able to send out selective collateral to specific personal versus just blasting everyone in a customer account. We have different messages so using the Pardot integration makes it easy to send the document to that person as an email versus as an attachment. Our marketing team also sends out by monthly material as well to a define target of clients.

Pros: Great for knowing that clients are interested.

Cons: A high pardot score does not always mean they are very interested in your product.

Overall: Pardot will score a prospect on the level of engagement they have with your website. The higher a prospect scores, it's more likely that they are interested in your product. Makes it easy to know when to reach out to older prospects.

Pros: It's attractive app-style interface

Cons: Functionality is down a lot and we need to reach out to customer service often

Overall: Pardot is a good starting point but the flexibility is lacking in certain areas. Often times there is more flexibility required, for example, when creating email templates that one would need to have HTML knowledge to accomplish. The interface is easy on the eyes, so that's a plus. Functionality is often down, in my experience and requires us reaching out to customer service to troubleshoot.

Cons: Lots of other marketing automation software have the same features and at a much lower price point.

Overall: Pardot is overpriced, but it will get the job done. Even after getting the product at a significant discount, I still feel like the product was overpriced. There are much cheaper marketing automation options out there that match Pardot's features and functionality.

Recommendations to other buyers: Haggle like crazy with them! I think they know they're overpriced, so you can probably negotiate a deal that is far below the list price. If they won't give you the price you want, walk away and find another software to use.

Cons: Customer Support is lacking and the functionality is complicated.

Overall: We switched from another software to Pardot and realized that some of the expected functionality is missing. What I mean by that is we didn't ask about certain items that we "figured" were there and when we got into the meat of setting up email marketing we became extremely frustrated. Additionally, I didn't realize how spoiled we were with customer service. We were told that there was online chat help but apparently right when we got started it became unavailable for our plan. Little things like only being able to choose a Day to start the email campaign versus a day and time is crazy. I find myself getting up at 6am to be able to start a campaign on time because that's when my target audience is checking their email. If I create my campaign at 3pm on Thursday, my only choice is to start it the same time on any given day in the future. Additionally, the list segmentation is more complicated than it needs to be. Overall, it does allow you to create campaigns based on behavior and score your audience, etc. However, everything is more complicated and the customer support is lacking. There are better softwares available with better customer support for less money.

Recommendations to other buyers: Make sure you do thorough research about the functions that are most important to your company.

Pros: The updated interface is wonderful. I also really enjoy the new Engagement Studio when compared to the older drip programs. It's powerful and automation rules, dynamic content, drip campaigns and more really add a lot to your marketing department.

Cons: It can definitely be pricey.

Overall: Pardot can be very powerful. It can do quite a bit, including manage email marketing, lead segmentation, lead tracking, lead scoring, nurture campaigns and more. Best of all, it syncs perfectly with Salesforce.

Recommendations to other buyers: Have a plan and make sure you utilize this fully. Also, ensure Marketing and Sales are aligned and communicating.

Pros: All of the functionality. The flexibility and the ease of use (once you have been trained)

Cons: It took us a bit to get trained on the tool, they way they use terminology and how they have things set up are very different than what most tools utilize. But once you understand the lay of the land it is super easy to use and set up.

Overall: We were already using Exact Target and SalesForce. Adding Pardot to our suite of tools has really elevated what we can do for our B2B marketing. After the initial learning curve (plenty of vendors to help with training if needed) once we got up and running this has freed up so much time to focus on other areas but it has also GREATLY increased our leads, the value of our leads and our conversion rates. The tools is pretty easy to use one you get the lay of the land!

Comments: Huge fan, initially, of Pardot. Did all we could ever want, and really got us going with drip campaigns per each event we do, which is a few. Got us further down the road really understanding where each marketing $1 was going.

Comments: We just recently implemented sales force and have connected pardot. We haven't yet setup all the field connections or delved into engagement studio yet, but reading up on it is exciting! We are looking forward to connecting everything and getting our old school marketing to the new age! We hope to have all connections and campaigns setup by the end of the year. Looking forward to seeing how this product changes our company!

Cons: duplicate email issue, also there is so much it can do but sometimes it is a challenge to identify the best way to use all of the features.

Overall: We started working with Pardot about two years ago when we first implemented Sales Force. it was a great solution for the types of B-to-B marketing emails we were hoping to start producing more of. We have still not fully unlocked the full potential of the platform, but the more we learn about the automation capabilities and integration with Sales Force the more excited and eager to learn we get. Our biggest struggle is that in our business we have some accounts that will use the same email address, which Pardot does not allow. We will be setting up a training soon to help us better understand engagement studio so that we can start executing on some smarter campaigns.

Pros: Simple to set up. Simple to get up and started without a lot of training. It performs well in the areas of email marketing, lead scoring, etc if you don't need a lot of customizations.

Cons: It's not as robust or customizable like Marketo or Eloqua but for a small team that just needs to get emails out, it works well. Their customer support has always been top notch.

Overall: Pardot is simple to set up and use. It's great if your marketing and sales team isn't looking for a lot of customizations.

Comments: Lead management, attribution, email campaign creation... Pardot has it all, and relatively intuitive. Only issue they have is they were acquired by Salesforce ... which is a good thing from a $$ standpoint but they are now going to really just maintain their customer base rather than rapidly grow it. Cause essentially they are competing with other Salesforce products for budget at their customers. Also, they cannot scale with enterprises like Marketo.

Comments: Email templates in Pardot don't pull over as much as traditionally thought when you plan on using an "email template" in other products. This makes it so we have to redo a lot of the same setup steps for every monthly email we want to send out, even though all we needed to change on the email template was the date.

Cons: It's not quite as awesome as Eloqua or familiar as Marketo

Overall: I've worked at companies who run Marketo or Eloqua in the past but helped a client through a recent Pardot implementation for the first time and was pleasantly surprised. The best thing it has going for are its deep Salesforce integrations. It has all the enterprise features you'd expect, from effective lead scoring to campaigns with a wide variety of triggers. In closing, my advice, as with all marketing automation tools is to take a good hard look at your strategy and know exactly what you are looking to achieve before you move forward.

Pros: Creation of any asset is really easy - simple WYSIWYG editor

Cons: Chat is rarely online
limited functionality (and a limit of) with automation rules

Overall: Pardot has been AWESOMELY better than Marketo. Really, my only problems are that the Automation Rules aren't as flexible as smart campaigns in Marketo (and they're limited - No If this, then that, but If this other thing, than have a different action). Additionally, the chat support is almost never on. Other than that, it's a marked improvement over Marketo - much more intuitive and user friendly.

Recommendations to other buyers: It's not perfect, but it's such a huge improvement over what we had before.

Pros: Integration with SFDC enables a user to generate mailing lists directly on Pardot.

Cons: Unfriendly user interface, terrible connection with other platforms like WebEx, Facebook, etc.

Overall: I use Pardot for marketing purposes, including email marketing, landing page, and webinars. So far I find the Pardot platform not user-friendly. The editor platform on Pardot is hard to use, and often I need to tweak the HTML code in order to get the formatting right.

Recommendations to other buyers: As a user of both Act-On and Pardot, I would recommend Act-On instead.
