Pros
Trakstar meets all our needs to perform professional and quality evaluations on our employees. It is a great tool for our managers and enables them to give fair and equitable feedback to their employees.
Cons
There are no cons. Trakstar is constantly improving their product.

Pros
The automation of our performance appraisal process allowed us to easily demonstrate compliance with our Joint Commission accreditation requirment that we strictly follow our policy of doing appraisals annually.
We were easily able to load our job descriptions into the evaluation tool.
The system allows self appraisal and has auto e-mail reminders at intervals for director and employees.
Added benefits:

Great reporting capabilities
It also has an enhancement to build on the appraisal of past performance and develop a plan for growth and improvement during the next year.
Cons
I have thought for several hours about what to enter in the Cons field and can.t think of anything.

Pros
I wanted a product that was easy to use, was robust, had good support, and was low cost. TrakStar has met every one of those requirements. By the way, I do not usually do a product endorsement, but this product is so good I am willing to do so this one time.
In the two years we have used TrakStar, it has always been able to do what we have wanted to do. Any time one of our 125 managers has asked if TrakStar could do something, the answer has always been "yes".
Cons
I have not had any issues with this software.

Pros
-The software program is very "user friendly." Our employees were able to "go live" with minimal training.
-I decided to go with this performance management tool because of the unique ability to tailor it to our position-specific needs. It provides a common structure yet allows the competency design-differentiation necessary in each of our four distinctly different business units.
-We have adopted this system at both exempt and non-exempt levels.
-The program is not intimidating to those employees with little computer experience. Going live with TrackStar has actually helped some of our mature managers gain computer skills.
-TrackStar technical support has never failed to respond when we needed them.
-I researched and priced several other popular computer-based performance appraisal products, and undoubtedly, TrackStar is the most economical. We saved thousands of dollars going with TrackStar and are very happy with the system.
Cons
On occasion, the system has been slow due to heavy traffic. Lately we haven't had this problem. I think upgrades for capacity are managed pretty well now.
Overall
Excellent! The ability to customize goals, factors and ratings is designed well.
