Cons: There ought to be a Quick Guide for Administrators; too often I've searched the support pages and did not find precisely what I've wanted, so had to email and did not have direct phone access because we don't pay for that added service. We're three hours apart from each other so there've been a few times that I was not able to get answers as immediately as I would have liked (in an ideal world). LOL.

Overall: Our rep just provided us the second part of our training via webinar; we asked for "Goals & Notes" to be given last June and finally the "Scoring" given today as we wrap up the performance period.

I am VERY pleased with our rep's professionalism, and knowledge about the Trakstar program. The way he guided us through the webinar was wonderful. Many employees and managers have expressed trepidation about the upcoming sequence of events, but our rep broke it down very easily and methodically. Our rep has a very good quality about his delivery of information, his voice, and ease of going through the screens as he proceeds, making the learner feel more confident. I already received the videos he created -- within minutes after completion of the training -- so I'm able to share with the employees and managers who could not attend today's webinar. Thank you!

I wish Trakstar would create a "Quick Start Guide for Administrators" as they have for both managers and employees, and then load it on the Support Articles page, but for the meantime I am very pleased to have access to the Support pages, tutorials, videos, etc. and can email Support whenever I have need. I'm grateful about that, too.

If you allow me one more "wish list" item would be the ability to change an employee's job title easily throughout the year -- as long as it does not represent a promotion that would affect change of goals, etc. When we've had a change of management, the new manager will come in and request change of titles (not duties, etc.) of his/her direct reports. This need is likely common among certain industries and such a change would be a huge improvement. Thank you for asking for our feedback.

Recommendations to other buyers: A lot of companies are leaving the "annual performance" review, so I'd like to see Trakstar embrace that and afford more "employee engagement" on an ongoing basis throughout the year -- allow for feedback from manager to employee through Trakstar during the year, please.

Comments: So far so good! We just implemented Trakstar at our company and I have been happy with our experience thus far. The tool is very intuitive to use, highly customizable, and was exactly what we were hoping for. Implementation was made easy due to how great customer service was - helping from the initial upload through holding the trainings.

Pros: Not really much to like, to be quite honest

Cons: 5) There is this wonderful background jobs pop-up that pops up every time that you do ANYTHING in the application, I'm serious. You have to dismiss it manually every time, it is ridiculous, unnecessary, and very annoying.
6) There is no simple way to have them tie any type of notes or issues with an employee back to a part of their job description that it is supposed to match. Which, is really the basis of why you are keeping records for corrective actions, notices, etc, to protect yourself from an employee if you have to terminate for performance based reasons/issues.
7) If you have employees who don't sit at a desk or have their own computer, this system is not for you. It does not offer you a way to accommodate those employees. Again, they will talk about a solution or work around, but again, don't be fooled, they have no solution here either.

Overall: Lot of issues here that I want to point out with this software:

1) This software does not do corrective actions or Performance Improvement Plans, they try to tell you that it does in the sales presentations, but this software does not do it. They will tell you about a work around, but it is so complex and contrived that your managers will never use it, I promise.
2) We were trying to get the software to allow us to do a 6 month check-in, so essentially our managers would be able to meet with our employees halfway to their annual review and check in to see how they were coming along, not to be rated, but just a checkup to see how things were going. Sounds easy, right? Well, you'd be wrong on that too, and so was I. They launched into a super complex work around, which again was way more complex than any of my managers would ever need or be able to use.
3) Whenever I first looked at signing up to use this software, I liked the seemingly easy and simple to use interface that I had seen on demos and on videos on youtube. I thought, well, it's just about loading in positions and job data, then I should be off and running with this system. Well, their estimate for getting setup is typically at least 3 months, that should tell you something. I thought that they would just be doing a lot of hand holding, turns out that what they were really doing is making up for a poor UI and UX in their system. It is next to impossible to anticipate where to go, what to click, etc. They try to make up for it with their training, but it just seemed to frustrate me more that they wouldn't fix the clear weaknesses and complexness of their interface to suit the customer. They would rather spend an hour training you on how to do something super complex, and oh, by the way, if you mention to them that something is complex, unnecessary, or just plain not intuitive, instead of take the feedback, they actually get defensive and back up their reasoning for doing whatever they are doing in a totally illogical and contrived way. They need to take a page from Google and Apple and go back to the drawing board with their system and design something from the ground up that is EASY TO USE.
4) Scoring for employees is extremely complex and contrived, just ask them to show it to you in the sales process, you will see

I could write more, but I ran out of room, check out JuvodHR if you are looking for a better solution, that's where I went.

Recommendations to other buyers: Look elsewhere, this is a glorified system to upload docs and forms to, you can find similar functionality with Google's G Suite. They will offer little to no help in the way of Best Practices in HR

Pros: Ease of implementation, ease of use. The price is great. Our team members have picked up on it quickly.

Cons: We have some specific reporting needs that Trakstar doesn't have. It's okay, we've found workarounds.

Overall: We recently implemented Trakstar and this is the first time that we're using it for our annual review cycle. Every team member went through PA training, which included learning about Trakstar. The feedback so far has been great - it's easy to use, intuitive, and will make the process so much easier than what we've done in the past (a form we created in Excel!).

As an administrator I've reached out lots of times to Trakstar's support group with questions about reports, functionality, etc. They are super responsive, great to work with, and have helped me find some work-arounds for things that we needed for our company.

This tool is a GREAT VALUE. The implementation was very easy, went quickly, and we were able to deliver an online tool that we had not originally planned to do this year.

We're looking forward to learning more and make the most out of Trakstar.

Pros: Affordable, decent design (UI, not UX)

Cons: Difficult UX, can't pull many of the reports you would need, doesn't give you many meaningful insights at all, lots of bugs, slow response by support (they have a very small team), almost every process is manual and takes a LONG time to make changes in the system due to this issue

Overall: We originally selected Trakstar because it was affordable and the demo given to us was good overall. Though this product does the basics, it is still extremely outdated and lacks a lot of intuition. The reports are all saved as PDF's or you can export excel documents. The excel docs are a major mess for the most part and will leave you with hours more work editing them. Once you get everyone's assessment, you have to load the PDF into the employee's folder so that they can see their grade. Though the rating dashboard is decent, viewing your individualized grading metrics afterwards is nowhere near as user-friendly.

The product lacks many simple features that we're just forgotten during its build. You cannot update your grading scale without going into EVERY SINGLE COMPETENCY manually and changing your grading scale (ie. going from a 5-point grading scale to a 4-point grading scale, etc.). Basically, there is no way to mass-edit a lot of things in the system. I hope you have someone on your team that has days worth of time to manage this system.

The 360-review capabilities are even more difficult. As an admin of your organization system, you can't send out 360 reviews unless you log in as that specific manager's manager. Yes, you will have to continuously click links to log in as another user in order to edit (or even view) that person's appraisal.

We've also had a lot of issues with grading schemes not working properly and various bugs popping up frequently, impacting our entire review cycle. The support team is VERY small and leads to long response times which gets crazy in the middle of your review cycle.

The new UI is pretty, but the UX still lacks a lot of intuition. Unfortunately, Trakstar is a lot of form over function at this point. They need to hire a good UI/UX guy and a senior engineer to fix some things and then I would maybe suggest using it.

Pros: I like the easy navigation in TrakStar. I think everything is pretty self explanatory. I like that managers can ask for feedback from other employees, as we are using that function a lot at my current work.

Cons: I don't like that you can't carry over only some specifics goal. When there is an option for managers -would you like to carry over the goals to next appraisal... What if I would like to carry over only one of my 3 or 4 goals?

Overall: I have been using and training our employees on TrakStar. We have 60 employees in one of our many branches.

Cons: Either as a manager of managers or just a manager I do not think my access to completed reviews is very good.

Overall: I have enjoyed using the product and find it to be a huge improvement to emailing work templates around.

Pros: Inexpensive, good customer support

Cons: It seems like the improvements are not run by actual users of the program. The users would tell you more clearly what functionality changes are needed. The newest version made changes that didnt' seem necessary and ignored necessary items.

Overall: Ease of use is an issue for managers and admins. The functionality needs to be improved. The training is good but not everyone takes the time to complete the training. Instead they try working intuitively and it doesn't go well.

Overall: First time user, so easy to use and understand. My job entails training staff when we have new programs, sometimes getting everyone to understand how to use a new program can be a challange, but not with Trakstar, it was a breeze.

Overall: We were looking for a product that gave us flexibility in the questions we asked and an easy way to score them. We also wanted to have anonymous feedback from other employees. The Trakstar product provides a solution for all our needs.

Recommendations to other buyers: Great support in getting the product set up and training different groups of users. The training was segmented and short so our employees felt it was tailored to their functions within the program.

Pros: Easy to use, great format that is familiar to most everyone due to social media, employee folder having the ability to contain a multitude of uploaded files including past reviews prior to the electronic system.

Cons: Employee acknowledgement of appraisal does not actually show an electronic signature on the printed appraisal so unless the employee manually signs the appraisal it is difficult to show an employee acknowledged their appraisal for HR documentation purposes.

Overall: Great customer service through live demo to implementation and going live in Trakstar. Deadlines given were met and when a last minute change after going live was needed, customer service was able to get the mass edit uploaded before the time we were originally told so we were able to get back on track quicker than expected. That was greatly appreciated!

Pros: Easy access from anywhere, ease of making adjustment or changes, incorporating organizational goals, employee input, on-going feedback, pricing is reasonable, access to training videos...

Cons: It will be nice if additional components are options such as compensation manager, tracking applications, those are what I can think of off the top of my head.

Overall: Trakstar has helped streamline our performance review process and provided an opportunity to rethink our evaluation structure. Trakstar has excellent customer service and make it easy to go live. It has been an enjoyable process and now our reviews are less burdensome for the supervisors and HR department.

Recommendations to other buyers: We purchased the product because of the customer service is excellent. I never felt pressured from the sale rep and in fact felt like they were more about finding solutions about our current frustration with our old system. I called three references of current Trakstar users that had been customers for years. The whole process was transparent, easy and affordable.

Pros: The efficiency of the workflow and the way we can customize it to our needs.

Cons: I would like to see a better org chart!

Overall: Have had a wonderful experience with Trakstar; it gives the employees the access they need through out the year to work towards their goals and development. Managers are able to work more efficiently and put accountability in the hands of the employee.

Pros: I've had top-notch help from your reps who have answered my calls and answered my questions. Your company is also proactive in sharing information via frequent webinars. Matt Weissenborn was very helpful, articulate and professional in his presentation.
I enjoy using the Measurement tools in the online software.

Cons: I wish there was a Guide for Administrators -- just as there is one called "Employee Guide" for users. It would take significantly less time to refer to one than to call or try to figure out something myself (trial/error). I would like a means to SEE the individual's goals without having to download to export.

Overall: Our company was in need of a performance evaluation software that would be available online and easy enough for our professional but extremely busy (sometimes overwhelmed) staff to learn and use. We used to use the Excel sheets and we needed something that everyone could quickly "pick up" and implement. Fastrak was the most advantageous in meeting our company's needs due to the ease of adding goals, editing the staff list (in times of growth, promotions, turnover, etc.), adding measurements to assist in showing efforts and when goals (or portions of them) were met/completed, and provided reminders to those who neglected deadlines. The last item was essential to those who work in Human Resources and did not want to "badger" nor take responsibility of repeatedly reminding the busy and often traveling supervisors and employees who found it difficult to make time for this important effort.

Recommendations to other buyers: Our IT Project Manager (Christerfer Frazier) has already provided a great deal of feedback to your team, and some of the response is that they will consider implementation in the next revision. My supervisor and I are both "Administrator" level. It would be nice (but not essential) if I were able to make a comment but hide it from her, just as the rest of the employees are able to do online. But she and I have complete access to each other's comments due to sharing the same level of "rights." It'd be nice to see a box on the "front page" of each employee's "home" page that if checked shows that he/she has created multiple goals. That way, at the beginning of the new year, we can know this before we ever download the exported goals. A few employees wrote text in their goals the size of a small paperback. It'd be nice to have them see some character limit (and how many remain -- JUST like the survey to which I'm typing answers now) so they begin to abbreviate thoughts while inputting or after cut/paste.

Pros: the rating system and tracking of goals

Cons: admin usability is still confusing at times, to many steps to remember

Overall: Users seem to find it the tool easy to navigate. training has been good since the purchase of the tool. , Rene, the account Rep has been very helpful to date.
It would be great if the tool could include performance management - e.g. template for verbal performance guidance, written warnings, etc. to help track for HR history

Cons: No personal customer service - always on the phone and remotely located. Also seems to offer features we don't know how to use, often has errors (dates are wrong) and it's not easy to make changes.

Overall: We haven't had the best experience. Customer service isn't really easily accessible, everything is learn--on-your-own and when the system was updated, we lost a lot of dated information about the usage of our system, which was critical. We are still under-utilizing it and it's extremely hard to navigate.

Recommendations to other buyers: offer on-site trainings. Check in and make sure the software is being used fully.

Pros: Anything I want to do, I can usually do.

Cons: Ad hoc reviews- it automatically sets the dates for a 3-day review period and I have to fix it every time.

Overall: Very user friendly. Occasionally things get annoying, like the pop-up video every time you login lately, that says "Welcome to Trakstar's New Look", but it's a minor complaint.

Recommendations to other buyers: Some people may find it annoying, but I'm glad that they send emails to everyone, reminding them to be on top of their reviews. I think our company is one of the few who is on the ball with reviews because of that, and I think it's very important.

Pros: I actually like the majority of the features. I think that others being able to leave comments on your work is very helpful come review time; it makes what you are saying to your performance stronger. Another thing I like is how you can group topics together and write a reflection, but then not post it until you're ready to - very convenient!

Cons: When I wrote my first reflection, I had a little trouble in posting a reflection when I only wanted to take a note. Once I figured out how to do it correctly, it was no problem. If there were more detailed instructions on the difference between the two, that would be helpful.

Overall: I moved from a "normal" user to an administrative user and Trakstar has been amazing! It is very simple to explain to new hires, and with the videos and documentation available, navigating through the site is a breeze.

Recommendations to other buyers: Overall, it is very user-friendly for both the average user and the pro. Take advantage of the written directions and videos and encourage staff to review both before beginning.

Pros: I like that it was simple to just rate and having the option to add comments.

Cons: I wasn't too sure how it was calculated but I only gave myself a 4 twice and the rest 5 yet my overall points was 4.1 when I'm thinking it should be higher than that.

Overall: It was my first time using it and it was quite self explanatory so it was easy to use. I did the appraisal right away so there was no time to add notes but to just add comments as I go.

Pros: Our management has enjoyed how easy it is to use the software and track where supervisors and employees are within the review process.

Cons: The con for our company was minor. Supervisors typically establish goals before making them visible to the employee and evaluate, discuss and agree upon the identified goals in the employees review. With Trakstar when you establish a goal it becomes visible to the employee immediately.

Overall: Trakstar was very easy to work with and provided realistic expectations throughout the implementation process. Tyler specifically was very easy to work with and did a great job of working through any challenges we came across.

Pros: Has helped us evaluate staff on their competencies. It has built in email reminders that are incredibly useful. Overall has a good flow that people can easily follow.

Cons: Not always intuitive for the end user. I've also accidently deleted an appraisal and there is no way to "undo" or retrieve it.

Overall: Moving our annual appraisals to Trakstar has brought us to nearly 100% compliance. Prior to Trakstar we had paper appraisals that rarely got completed and were nearly impossible to track. This is incredibly valuable to our employees.

Pros: It's very user friendly for the most part. I havent been asked many questions about how to do things but we also put together our own training guides.

Cons: If you do more than one annual review a year it can cause some annoyances. For example, we have annual reviews open in addition to some 90 days and we had to create specific reports since the scores were being integrated.
It's difficult to do anything outside of the structured process that is already setup.
There is no way to export reports, just print. I also dont see a report that just lists name and final score next to it.

Overall: This is the first time using an online performance management software. It has changed the way reviews are done and has made it much more streamlined and user friendly. It also gives us more and more accurate reporting capabilities.

Cons: I wish the admin portal was more user friendly. You have to figure out work arounds for certain things that can become time consuming. I also wish (for admins) you didn't have to "log in as user" every time you want to look at the progress of employee reviews. You should be able to just click an employees name and their current review with notes/comments/scores updated should appear.

Overall: I've really enjoyed having Trakstar as our performance review tool. With each UI update it gets better and better. It's not overly complicated so my employees aren't confused by how to go in take notes, track goals, and score reviews. All I have to do is remind them about due dates and they're on their way!

Overall: Since my introduction as both an Administrator and a User, Trakstar is too cumbersome and too restrictive. Having to identify dates, archive, and tie to the competencies that are already that are too cumbersome. We have made it work, but I will change products as soon as we choose to afford it.

Pros: This software is relatively uncomplicated for the regular employee, especially since they have redesigned the appearance. Training on the system does not take long and there are several helpful videos to provide assistance to staff and administrators. I find it to be pretty intuitive. In most cases there are some options for customizing your performance appraisal and the cycle.
They also have several opportunities for training of administrators through webinars (live and pre-recorded) and these are really useful.

Cons: I do wish there were more flexibility in customization and that it was easier to reach some of the relevant customer service videos; however, the customer service team (if you can reach them by phone) is very responsive and helpful.

Overall: We are a small non-profit association with about 85 active employees. We use TrakStar for our annual performance appraisal program . Our program is designed to have every employee receive a review at the same time each year, rather than each year on their annual anniversary. We also have a 90-day initial review, and a 6-month informal review.

Overall: We were using the canned performance review process that our payroll company provided and were extremely unhappy with it's lack of flexibility. Trakstar gave us options that did not exist with our payroll vendor. We decided to go with Trakstar even though we were paying for the service with our payroll provider.

Pros: Ease of use for reviewers.
Managers get to see the reviews for each competencies for all their direct reports in one one place.
The goals section is very helpful to keep track throughout the year.
Love the Notes feature between review periods.

Cons: Anonymous is truly anonymous, but tracking by Admin to see who has not completed their reviews was a little tedious as we had to go to each person's list of reviews outstanding instead of the employee who was being reviewed. Couldn't tell from their record if enough people at the right levels completed the reviews.

Overall: We were using Survey Monkey for performance reviews. So many man hours to compile a decent report for 360 /multi rater reviews. So we moved to Trakstar and it was like a breath of fresh air. Everyone loved the ability to add comments on individual competencies, and they felt the ease of use was very high. Loved the process from top to bottom.

Recommendations to other buyers: You'll love implementing it. The techsupport staff is first rate. Very responsive, timely and had strong customer service skills.

Pros: Employees have a really easy time navigating their way around, and it is very customizable.

Cons: Nothing so far. We have used it for one year.

Overall: This is the best performance review software program that I have used in HR so far. It has been very easy to customize the program to work well for us, and employees have had a really easy time navigating the program.

Pros: Customization of review forms, review types, competencies, approval routes, and dedicated customer support team who always responds within 24 hours of a general issue, and within an hour of two of high importance issues.

Cons: Wish it was an all in one solution for HR/payroll/performance so we had everything in one place

Overall: Great Performance product, dedicated customer service team, has helped our organization tremendously!

Pros: Like that you can customize the survey for each department.

Overall: I am currently the admin for my company, and Trickstar is pretty simple to navigate and design company surveys for departments or individually for a team member.

Overall: I love the capability to add both public and private notes to accounts along with document uploads. Rather than wait until the end of the review period to think back over an entire year, our employees can add information all year long. This makes year-end review meetings run smoothly and efficiently taking less time due to all of the preparation.

Pros: Competency based listing and goal setting options are nice. Users find it easy to move through the system.

Cons: Organizational chart is not user friendly for our size organization (90 employees). The system could benefit from offering additional reports or slicing options.

Overall: Over all a good product. User friendly, and had nice features. I appreciate that they continue to look at ways to improve the system.

Pros: Ability to set goals, and define what is important for our organization as it relates to the performance management process.

Cons: Would like to see a feature, similar to docu-sign. Once the manager reviews with the employee, send to the employee the review via docu-sign to secure both signatures for the employee file.

Overall: Overall, the experience has been very positive. Received positive feedback from employees and managers as it relates to ease of use.

Recommendations to other buyers: Overall, love the tool, in particular, ease of use of the software and ability to pull reports.

Pros: I like the ability to drill down in an org chart. Really captures the distribution of the work force.

Cons: I wish that I could do everything right from my own administrator area. Rather than have to log in as a user to complete some steps (ie: remove the requirement of employees needing to do their own evaluation).

Overall: All the people I have dealt with at Trakstar have been exceptional. Right from training, to ongoing questions to understanding financial restraints due to downturn in our industry.

Recommendations to other buyers: Have more options on what to print. For example, adjust what a printed self evaluation looks like versus an employee's supervisor version.

Comments: My company switched from paper forms to Trakstar and so far it has proved to be a great decision. The implementation process was seamless. Pros: Trakstar's system will have all the bells and whistles you can image or need. Reports and analytics are phenomenal.

Sure you can go out there any purchase other systems for double, or triple dollars more but the competitors can't compare to the customer services, the trainings which are always ongoing, and the feeling of being treated like royalty that Trakstar delivers.

Trakstar's system is easy to use and intuitive.

Integration teams will make this the easiest roll out a company will ever experience.

Sale teams won't pressure you. The quote you are given includes no hidden add-ons or fees. Competitors make it appear as if they are giving you a better deal but they hide fees that they do not disclose to you and then you're stuck having to pay more than you anticipated after the fact. Trakstar sales teams are upfront, honest and very competitive.

Training team are always holding seminars and there are many recorded sessions to review online.

As Charlie Sheen says: WINNING!

Cons: Nothing-honestly. I've seen dozens of Performance Review Systems and this system has all the criteria you would need to have. You will not be disappointed.

Overall: Words alone cannot describe from the sales team (Charlie Anderson) to the implementation (Taylor Cesmat) there could not have been a more positive experience a customer could image. You will feel, hear and can actually see the smiles on the faces of each one of Trakstar's team members you deal with.

What an awesome experience it is to enjoy in this day and age where people seem angry, mean and cruel. Trakstar is a business that treats their customers like true people they are grateful to have. An indication of true Customer Success! I'm so impressed with Trakstar and [all] the people and the program that this is something that I have passed on to other connections and I will continue to utilize should the opportunity arises in other establishments.

Comments: The support and help from Lauren Fisk during set-up was awesome. She was always very patient, knowledgeable and organized.
I think it has taken my managers a little bit to get used to the system, but I believe that is much more due to their desire to spend abut 3 minutes learning it! :)
I love the email reminders I can set up and also the notes sections. As HR, every conversation I have with an employee or manager, I comment- add this to your Trakstar!

Comments: Trakstar has been a key component of our review process for the past several years. It provides a pretty robust and full featured tool to facilitate staff reviews. Allows for solicitation of feedback from others, both inside and outside the company. Most everything about the tool is pretty good. Areas of improvement would be some additional HR focused reporting that would easily allow you to see the stages of various reviews and who needs to do what in what timeframe.

Comments: Trakstar continues to be an impressive system. Not only is it very simple and logical (and I could write a review just on that), but Customer Service is quick with resolutions.

I wanted to get more information when I downloaded reports from the Appraisal Screen and Lauren in Customer Service helped me understand the process right away, and then even offered to just quickly put something together on her end which met my needs. In the span of 30 seconds, she had updated a report with additional fields showing scoring which helped greatly. This is the kind of Customer Service that we all want with so many things... 1) phone is answered quickly, 2) Reps show genuine interest in understanding your situation, 3) They look to explain how you can fix this yourself so you better understand the system, and then offer to take care of it for you to make it easier for you at that moment.

As a company we are still learning many things about Trakstar, but so far we are impressed with the product, implementation, and ease of use.

Comments: Pros: The Trakstar system is an excellent user-friendly, cost-conscious, evaluation system. The software is extremely easy to navigate, both from an administrator and user perspective. The support training videos and learning bytes are excellent resources for administrators and users.

Cons: Export of organizational charts, all or nothing contributor option, retention of historical approval/rejection comments, and the lack of an option to capture all goals entered by all Supervisors and Employees for the current evaluation period

We think the short videos are really helpful for users, too, and the web usage stats suggest people like them. On the cons: you're totally right about printing the org chart. It's a hard technical problem to solve with large organizations - big org charts, fonts too small and a printable page. As for the other things you've mentioned, I like your suggestions and can promise we'll bring them forward to the next feature request meeting we hold company wide. Comments: Trakstar is an excellent idea. It allows employees and managers equal time in the appraisal process, which has been lacking in employee appraisal since the beginning of time.

As a manager it is quite helpful for an employee to weigh in on their performance. Too often we have no idea how the employee sees their performance until we are having 'the talk'.

Trakstar could be a little more user friendly, it is not always intuitive in the way it works and can be cumbersome for the administrator when trying to fix mistakes that managers make.

It would be an excellent addition if the manager were not allowed to Archive for agencies that still rely on paper for the employees personnel files. we use the 'archive' button to indicate that the signed appraisal has been received in HR to signal that the process is complete.

It would also be helpful if we could set up an agency wide appraisal two level system where the employee first gets a 6 month New Employee appraisal, and when archived Trakstar would auto generate the next appraisal in the Annual mode, instead of the 'new employee' mode again.

The last thing I can think of now, is the period of time our annual appraisals encompass. Right now the auto generated Annual appraisals have a date parameter based on the employees date of hire, and that is good for some. However, we use a fixed date system based on our fiscal year, and each time a new appraisal is generated i have to go into Trakstar and 'fix' the dates to our parameters.

Thanks for this excellent product; with just a couple of tweaks, it could be FANTASTIC! (for us)

We'll also take your suggestion on archiving to heart. Fwiw, we designed the Archiving process to allow managers the discretion about when to share the content with the employee. Some like to do it in advance of the meeting, some afterwards - and we felt they should be the ones to decide. That said, we have heard your request. I can promise that we'll bring that forward at our next company-wide feature meeting. Comments: Mostly pros - User-friendly, intuitive, fast and easy to modify. Love the feature that it saves the data automatically and you can always go back and retrieve any of the abandoned content. Not to mention EXCELLENT customer service. They really feel like partners, not vendors.

The biggest con is from administrator perspective that it does not provide he data in "ready-to-use" format. Ability to use side by side appraisal scores for several years will make life so much easier

Comments: Workflow was easy for employees to understand. Only downside is we wanted to do a separate workflow for 360 feedback after EOY reviews and it wasn't apparently easy to set up a separate workflow at a different time period. That would be something to work on setting up.

Comments: For those who use the software often, Trakstar is easy to navigate. That being said, one manager is constantly behind in completing evaluations and complains the software does not save changes. On further investigation it does save changes, but the user simply has to log out and back in to see the changes.
I like the customer service I have received in using Trakstar. Employees like to be able to make notes and keep track of progress with or without sharing that with their managers.

Comments: After a brief introduction alle employees were able to work with Trakstar. It is great that during the year comments can be made by both employee and manager. This makes the final appraisal much easier. The fact that we can archive each appraisal in the system works great for us, we have less paper appraisals and this makes is easier to check former appraisals. The reminder emails help both employee and manager to use Trakstar and make sure that appraisals will be finished in time. For our company Trakstar is a very good solution.

Comments: We implemented Trakstar a little over a year ago now and as our organization has now completed the annual appraisal cycle, I am ready to review the software. What I want to say first and foremost is, I can very highly recommend Trakstar. It is a very user friendly tool that has made our performance management process much easier on all users.

The Trakstar team were excellent at advising and supporting us throughout the configuration and implementation. Nothing was impossible. They came back on all our questions in a very clear and timely manner and provided the employee and manager trainings for our team. We received many compliments from manager and employees on the quality of the training and trainer (Lauren Fish in our case).

Thanks to this tool, our performance management process is more dynamic and streamlined. It is a big relief to no longer have paper forms going around, different versions, etc. Our employees find it much easier with Trakstar and so far all I've heard is positive from accross our organization.

It makes life much easier for the HR Department too. As a Trakstar administrator you can easily see where everyone is in the process and can send automatic reminders if needed. Trakstar also produces awesome reports that have proved very valuable during calibration. You can see at a glance whether there may be any rater bias, etc, and can signal accordingly.

All in all, really fantastic tool that has met and even exceeded our expectations. We look forward to continue working with Trakstar!

Comments: Before implementing Trakstar in your organization you have to have a clear view of the way you want your appraisal cycle facilitated. There are so many possibilities with pros and cons and after implementing Trakstar it is not good for the employees if you make changes during the appraisal cycle. We have the luck in The Netherlands that a Dutch re-selller of the product helps us implementing the software, helps us with making choices and is able to answer all our questions.
For the employees the software is easy to use and although we just started this year with Trakstar people are enthousiastic!

Comments: Trakstar has continued to be a tool of 'high value' to our organisation. We rolled it out across the entire organisation and we continue to increase its use and acceptance in a very 'noisy' software environment.

The team at Trakstar have been consistent with their support, enthusiasm and contact and we are not able to fault the relationship and service. The system itself is flexible and the Trakstar team work hard to understand our needs and provide solutions to support them.

Comments: Overall, the program does what it is intended to do. It is a good review tracking software.

Administrators should have access to far more information without having to login as users. Would be much easier if we could see actual reviews from administrator screens.

Approves should be able to make very minor changes to reviews without kicking them back to prior level of reviewer (i.e. shouldn't have to send a review back to fix a simple typo).

Comments: We recently revamped our employee review process by making the switch to Trakstar. The implementation process was a bit lengthy in the beginning but this has turned out to be the perfect platform for our firm. The system is easy to use. Comments: It's nice and flexible and a good value for what it costs. That said it is based on an outdated model of a hierarchical structure. For example, if I actually put my ceo at the top of the structure, no one could rate him, so I had to make up a "top person". In addition, the adding of ratings is required yet pointless in how I have it setup. Finally the inability of an individual user to look up their history is annoying.

Comments: I find the product does multi rater well including allowing for feedback of external products.

The documentation on the product is not great and i find it difficult to figure out how to make modifications.

Comments: Prior to using Trakstar less than 10% of our employees received performance reviews. With Trakstar we are at 100%. It make it much easier to track where people are in the process and identify who is delinquent. The automatic email reminders are a huge help.

My only complaint is that using Trakstar is not intuitive. I've had to play around with it a lot as administrator to figure out how to support staff and supervisors. However, Trakstar has great tutorials and customer service, so I can always get help when I need it.

Comments: We are just implementing Trakstar now so I have limited hands on experience with the product aside from uploading our users and having an initial 'play' in the system while we develop job descriptions and template plans etc.

So far I am really enjoying the library of competencies which will help us develop our plans. I also am finding the set up of the email alerts etc. Being able to set up a template for a particular position is invaluable in our business but obviously the need to tailor is important and driven off coaching conversations. Trakstar is allowing us both the structure and the freedom to tailor which is great.

If there could be the ability to tailor for each employee reminders for the managers that would be great. For example if we have an employee who requires fortnightly catch ups then being able to set up a reminder for that compared to his/her peer in the same 'position' but who needs only quarterly catch ups.

Comments: I love utilizing Trakstar for our reviews! It is easily accessible, easy to use, and meets all our our organizational needs. Before Trakstar, our agency used paper hand written reviews. These created inconsistent reviews and our employees were not able to receive the proper feedback they needed to thrive. Our process before Trakstar was strictly a manual process that wasn't as meaningful a process as we wanted. Trakstar helped get us set up and on line very quickly. Comments: In HR we input the information to setup the employee accounts. This process is very simple and easy to complete. It took us some time to figure out how to use the ad hoc review for our 90 day evaluation but that is all worked out. I like that employees are reminded at regular intervals to complete appraisals and multi-rater information. We have participated in webinars presented by Trakstar and they have great information.
I really like this program and would recommend it

Comments: Overall the feedback has been positive. Managers find the process to be easier than our previous paper review. The online platform is easy to log in to and we love the notes feature. The prompts help me through out the year. I'd like the goals section to be more extensive and the core competencies to be structured different.

Comments: So far, this software has been endlessly customizable for how we want to use it to give our employees their semi-annual reviews. Trakstar's support team provided me, as an administrator, with a very good basis for how to use the system and they've been very responsive with all the questions I've had as we've utilized the software more and more. As we've been using it, we've changed how we originally thought we would use it for employees, and so far every single thing we've wanted to use it for it has been able to do either with changes I can make on the back end, or with changes the support team has been happy to help me do.

Our employees appreciate a consistent review form to work from and they really like the goals section as a reminder of what their own personal goals and objectives are for what will take them to the next level as a member of our team.

Cons: Not as customizable as we'd like (we'd love some flexibility in the goals, ability to perhaps add a 'survey' questionnaire). We wish there were editable instructions on each page for both managers and employees- instead, we had to direct them to an outside source.
Overall, people thought it was easy to use and the reminder emails helped.

Comments: At 15 employees, our old google spreadsheet performance evaluation process was getting cumbersome. Implementing Trakstar has given us a framework to follow, and perhaps more importantly, has helped us greatly clarify expectations of our team members. The team knows more than ever what is expected of them and how to measure their progress and contributions.

Trakstar has put us on the path towards more frequent employee evaluations, and a greater level of employee satisfaction now that we have a known, consistent process.

Comments: I recently sent a file containing data for 76 new employees who we added to our staff as a result of a merger. This file was uploaded in a very timely manner, and the TrakStar system was available to the new users the next day.

TrakStar is easy to implement and very user friendly. As the corporate trainer, all I have to do is send new employees an email with instructions that include a "cheat sheet" for logging on and entering and appraisal, and our scoring guide. We have been using it for almost two years and the transition from handwritten appraisal forms has been very smooth. Whenever I need support, the TrakStar support team is readily available, and always responds quickly.

I recommend TrakStar for anyone who is looking for a fast and easy way to transition from a manual appraisal process to an online process.

Comments: I have used Trakstar for 5 years. The product has continued to evolve and improve. The CEO is receptive to product feedback and enhancements and functionality has improved as a result. Product training is some of the best I have seen. There are still a few areas for improvement but overall Trakstar is very easy to use for administrators, managers and employees. I had no trouble customizing Trakstar to fit our needs. Updates to this software have kept improving the performance appraisal and making it even better and easier to use. Comments: Pulling reports and tracking where employees and/or supervisors are at in the scoring phase is much appreciated. Wish there was a report you could run to see quickly and easily how many supervisors are taking notes throughout the year. Position templates are great. Wish there was a way you could update verbiage of a competency to only affect future appraisals and not the current active appraisal.

Comments: Trakstar is so user friendly and meets all of the needs of our employees and managers in our jurisdictions across the globe.
The service team are so knowledgeable and so responsive, no matter what they are asked and the support page is full of great information!
The webinars on offer also provide valuable training on how to make our administrator tasks easier! Love that!!!
Recommendations for consideration in any future changes:
1) I would ask that the "carry forward goals, measurements etc" when a manager is archiving, be defaulted to yes, rather than having to choose every time.
2) Have a link to access the support page after you sign in to the system so that you don't have to open a new page or log out.
3) Increase the size of the Appraisal's window for admins.....we have so many employees that the scroll bar doesn't go down far enough and we can't see all of the employees...we have to print the list in order to see the entire list.
