Pros
Today was the first time we had a overview of the tool. Based on the initial meeting, it seems to be a tool that covers most of our requirements and seems fairly easy to use.
Cons
Need to know more about the integration with Microsoft Project Server and the upcoming release on requirements and test in March of 2012.
Overall
Like what I saw today but would like to trial it out to get some hands on experience.

Pros
Customer support was excellent. The product features are clear and easy to use. The system is highly customizable using a hierarchical structure. The application produces high quality reports as well.
Cons
I would like to see some features that leverage graphics a bit more. Also the ability to link assets between projects and a more robust (and customizable) use case module will add some value (although I understand these are underway.
Overall
I would recommend the product based on ease of use, customer support and moderate pricing model.

Excellent tool. Really liked the ability to trace a requirement all the way through the process, linking it to test cases.
Cons
The one negative for us was the lack of a sortable backlog for scrum. I was not able to find a way to rank items in a list to create the order for the backlog. Are there any plans for this in an upcoming release?
Overall
Would highly recommend. We reviewed several tracking tools for agile development, and this was definitely one of the top contenders. Nice work!

Remarkable technical support, for this I would really like to appreciate the Inflectra Support team especially to Adam who understood my issues and fixed it.
Cons
1. Very sad to know that an appropriate load testing certification is not yet done or not published yet.
2. Single database for all the projects for big firm like us who keeps huge date will be concern , suggestion is to keep seperate db for each project.
Overall
For the value of money it is worth to use ,but those who look at this as an alternative for QC the comfort of use is surely going to loose.

- The system has a different user interface than QC, some people like SpiraTeam's more than QC, some prefer QC, it depends what you are used to :-)

Pros
Product is lightweight, flexible, feature-rich, responsive. Company has good documentation and provides excellent customer support. Reasonable pricing.
Cons
Only a few very minor issues so far, but nothing worth reporting.
Overall
So far, we would highly recommend the product and the company. It is a great light-weight alternative to HP Quality Center, which we also evaluated.

- Has all the functionality we were looking for, primaily reguirements traceability and testing.
Cons
- had a bit of difficulty with JIRA sync but have since decided not to integrate the two.
Overall
Our web search found a large spectrum of requirements traceability tools from do-it-yourself spreadsheet templates to enterprise class installations that were far out of our price range. SpiraTeam was a great find in that it exceeded our needs and was very affordable offering great value. It's quickly become the focal point of our project implementation activities.

Pros
Total value for money, a customer service second to none, this is a vendor with the customer in focus. The application is very intuitive and meets all our current needs with plenty of room for growing.
Cons

Overall
I've looked at several applications in this segment and this comes out tops so far no doubt about it. If you've never had an ALM before or even a test management tool then you just can't lose. I'm expecting an ROI in man hours the first year of ownership not to mention the lift it will give to our working process along with job satisfaction for all our users.

- Allows to manage the entire life cycle of software, from requirements to test cases and bugs
- The price is much inferior than other similar products (HP Quality center)
- Allows to manage release numbers, schedule and assign tasks
- Support team really nice and reactive
- Many update patchs, product is constantly evolving
- Possibility of defining custom workflows for incidents
Cons
- A bit slow sometimes, maybe because we have installed it on our company server
- The associations between requirements, test cases, incidents, and code version could be easier to use
- Some difficulties to attach big files
Overall
Strongly recommend it, it provides much more functionality than expected, and the support team is awesome!

Pros
This seems to be one tool that could replace several different tools that we have.
Also, this is one centralized location for various teams to look into the status of the projects.
Cons
I have some questions. Once I figure out if the tool can do that or not, I might be able to answer this better.

Pros
Just started using the tool and pretty easy. Had wueations and got immediate response form support staff- A nice person called Mike.
Cons
Too bad it does not have copy features for workflows etc from 1 project to another.
Overall
Have just started using and it seems good thus far. Will have to use it some more before I can actually recommend it.

However we miss some specific functions. Therefore we need workarounds or specific implementations:
Cross-project associations or copy function for custom properties
Render different attachments format (without coping them as image in the description field) in a HTML report
Ability to change or add custom report
Copying configuration between different installations
Data migration from (other than the 4 supported tools) third party software with attachments
Disabling not always used mandatory fields (planed effort) in the different asp pages
Overall
good software covering a lot of functions for a good price

- Easy to install and use. Out of the box, the package just works, no hassles.
- Documentation is *extremely* well done, in all areas: Comprehensiveness, organization, layout, technical content, language and grammar, clarity.
- Technical support is incredibly responsive and helpful; extremely knowledgable; and goes above and beyond what is required.
Cons
I cannot think of any cons.
Overall
I would absolutely recommend the product to others who are looking for a easy to use, feature-rich, well-supported, and low-cost solution.

1) Inflexibility in reports, though this could be overcome by customized xml reports, this customization could have been made simpler.

3) Testing tasks other than testcase execution could not be created
4) OS Env could not be mentioned for a test planning & execution

Pros
The thing we like most about SpiraTeam is its flexibility. We are able to configure it to our processes and integrate it with MS TFS. The customer support is outstanding.
Cons
There are a few things we wish it had, but they are very open to enhancement suggestions and most of the things we suggest are already planned for an upcoming release.

Very good clean work .
Having planing + test cases tracking + issue tracking in one integrated solution is great. It worth every penny of its price.
Cons
Requirements ,and Releases features are fair.
Test Cases and Runs features are very good.
Incidents features are good.
Tasks features are only basic.
Some suggestions:-
1-Need to enable multiple resources assignment for tasks.
2-It will be great to submit time in a weekly time sheet view. with resource tasks as rows and days as columns.
3- It will be nice to enable the user to choose a distinct color for each status in the incidents workflow definition. so he/she can easily recognize it in the grid.
4- In the Requirement screens, it will be nice to make the colored inductors for testing and tasks "click-able" linking to the corresponding test cases or tasks

Functionality, Price and Support. What more do you need in a Test Management Tool? And it has integration with other tools and test automation.
SpiraTeam was trialled over three major projects and was enthusiastically accepted by both the IT group and the Business Areas doing UAT with absolutely minimal training. SpiraTeam provides a high level of functionality at an extremely affordable price point. I was extremely pleased with the responsiveness of Inflectra to every issue and suggestion I raised.
When you're sitting in a meeting with SpiraTeam users discussing incident reports from one of the trial projects, and the Director turns to you and says..."give me the quote...we need SpiraTeam" you know the product is doing the job for both test process improvement and management reporting. A winner for all !!
Cons
Oracle support (but it is on the way).
Greater email support ( such as broadcast notification to all SpiraTeam users)- but that is on the way too.
Overall
Highly recommended.
Cannot be beaten for functionality and support at the price point. And I've looked at many, with over 10 years experience with the big boys !!! Throw away those Word documents and Excel spreadsheets. At this price you can afford this top class software. You'll wonder why you made do with anything less!! And there is a free 30 day trial. That's how we got hooked.

Integration with bug tracking and testing.
Cons
It was slow. Clunky interface. You seriously need to consult an agile expert, and implement better project management capability. Need person based detail, assign two engineers to one task, dashboard where you can choose multiple reports for multiple projects display, group tasks under user story/spec--heirarchy, input hours worked per day (auto accumulation instead of manual), and hours left to do estimate, needs better reporting for project managers, drag and drop tasks to iterations, drag and drop work order (your priority field is REALLY criticality---priority is work order. Progress bar should update automatically with hours worked over hours estimated.
Overall
Gather project mgmt design specs to your program and you will have a killer app---with integration between project management, bug tracking, and QA.

The ability to drag and drop tasks to iterations does exist (we worked with Christine to show her that feature) and the % complete is deliberately not associated to # hours expended as that is a misleading metric if a task was under-estimated to begin with.

SpiraTeam is an incredible value. Its feature set rivals competitors that are literally 10 times the cost. It has provided all the test case management that we need & the sales/support team has been immediately responsive to every question we've had.
Cons
The only challenge we've had with SpiraTeam is the "team" part. It isn't quite as graceful as we'd like for using a team of testers to execute tests. They came up with a solution so it's not a show stopper but I hope it improves with the next release.
Overall
SpiraTeam from Inflectra was inexpensive enough for us to use when our QA efforts were first launching as well as feature rich enough now that we have dozens of testers, analysts, and developers involved. We plan to bring on a test automation tool next year (QuickTest Pro, SmarteScript, or TestComplete) and SpiraTeam came with the hooks built in. In fact, SpiraTeam has a number of extra features built in that may make it even more useful to us over time; such as Project & Requirements Management. Their sales and support team have been invaluable in helping us understand how to use their software and even how to best test our software as well. They are flexible and very fast to respond (even after we bought) Their pricing model makes sense for the initial purchase and the annual maintenance. Simply put, Im sold. Its too tough to justify a competing product, no matter how popular, at tens of thousands of dollars more.

Pros
We have used this tool for organisation of 50 users and it has worked perfectly. It has got all the features which a Test and Defect management tools should have.
Cons
Its not very stable on new IE 8. Need to have some more basic feature to improve usability and speed of writing, designing Test Scripts.
Overall
It can still improve with additional features such as mutiple copy paste, more stable build for IE 8 users. But an excellent buy for this price. Reliable and well priced tool.

You're customer service is wonderful. Everytime I have presented a question I receive a very quick email back from Adam. Other than our own customer service I have never received such good service from a software vendor.
Cons
With the new 2.2 upgrade I have lost the ability to tab when creating a new test script. This is causing me to take twice as long to enter my steps.
Overall
SpiraTeam is great. You get much more than you pay for. I would definitely recommend this software to others.

- we are using the Excel importer often also to create new testcases. This is really fast.
- direct access to the MSSQL databaes allows custom report generation

- Jira integration is not really working
- Jira integration is only done with cryptic configuration files and not using the web-admin interface.
- doesn't work well with Firefox browsers
- doesn't work under Linux
- test case creation using the web-gui is kind of time consuming
- reporting could be more configurable directly in Spiratest
Overall
We are using Spirateam / Spiratest for test case management and for managing our testing workforce. Also we are using it to track test case execution.

Whatever question we had was answered by Inflectra customer service in a timely and competent way. As a software company ourselves I was very much impressed.
-> This is a major reason to go and invest into Inflectra software. The money spent is worth every cent.
We cannot use the integrated ticketing tool and unfortunately were not able to integrate with our Jira ticketing solution the way we planned. The promoted Jira interface was a major reason to select Spiratest and we were very disappointed that it does not really work. However this feature is promised for a later release 2009.
-> We are hoping that Jira integration will be improved and integrated into the admin interface by the Spira development team as promised end of 2008.

Support for the product has been fantastic! Whe have gone thu 2 upgrades and had questions. The support personnel ( Adam ) was extremely helpful and we were able to complete the upgrades.
Cons
None at present.
Overall
We are mostly using this package as documentation for our testing processes.
We can keep track by release as to what has been tested. Very satisfied with product.

As a small organizatio but with a multi million dollars software project to manage, we were looking for an affordable solution in order to manage our requirements, define and follow-up test plans. Inflectra delivers a very fast and impressive support, even to a French customer !
