Release 3 offers industry's most comprehensive enterprise PLM, sourcing, and profitability planning solution
Campbell, Calif. (PRWEB) May 12, 2009 -- Centric Software, Inc., today announces the immediate availability of its Centric 8 Suite, Release 3 for fashion and consumer goods companies. The new product release introduces Product Profitability Planning and Enterprise Search modules, major updates to the Product Specification module, and a Centric Connector® for Adobe Creative Suite®. The Centric 8, Release 3 also includes an updated look and feel, and performance improvements. Each new module and enhancement is designed to help users further innovate and speed new products to market, drive margin improvement, and improve global collaboration and compliance.
"We continue to invest in innovative products and enhancements that deliver real business value to our customers in an all-encompassing solution," says Chris Groves, president. "By bringing Product Profitability Planning, PLM, and sourcing solutions together, this release of Centric 8 uniquely manages all aspects and functions of the product development, sourcing, and performance management processes the fashion and consumer goods industries need. While others are retreating in the current economic environment, Centric continues to gain market share by providing its customers with real, dramatic economic benefit."
What's new:
1. Centric Product Profitability Planning: The Product Profitability Planning module eliminates financial surprises and aligns the organization to profitability goals by offering complete channel margin, product cost and gross margin information, including royalties, shipping costs and gross margin return on investment (GMROI) early in the product development process.
The new module factors all aspects of contribution margin into planning and managing the product profitability across development, sales channels and suppliers. By providing real-time financial information down to any level of the bill of materials as well as across all SKUs, channels and regions of business, companies can react to changes impacting financial metrics to ensure products meet margin targets before they launch.

2. Centric Enterprise Search: With dynamic classification of search results, the new Enterprise Search module extends search and discovery to information outside of the Centric 8 suite. Users can easily find data housed in other systems, and bring that information into the Centric 8 suite, allowing for more informed decisions. The simpler, faster, more efficient information retrieval means that companies can leverage existing intellectual property within the context of Centric 8 sourcing, planning, and development processes.
3. Centric Product Specification enhancements: Enhanced material management, storyboard, and new capabilities for construction details and packaging libraries in the Product Specification module improve the product definition and design process for fashion and consumer goods design and sourcing teams.
Material management - Enhancements provide details of materials for products, suppliers, and aggregated demand to help align material use with predicted demand to ensure material availability while controlling product costs.
Storyboard - Going beyond the traditional storyboard, the Centric 8 storyboard features facilitate the creative process by collecting, communicating and sharing design ideas. The Web-based collaborative environment encourages creativity, brainstorming and idea-sharing, and improves brand integrity across collections.
Construction Details and Packaging Libraries - Enhanced features include the ability to build organized libraries of common construction and packaging details for use and reuse on individual styles and products. Resulting benefits include improved product quality through reduction of time to create construction or packaging specifications, and greater consistency across products.
4. Connector® for Adobe Creative Suite®: TThe new connector integrates design sketches and files - at all stages of development - with every other piece of product design, supplier and manufacturing information. Designers can connect product design files from any Adobe Creative Suite application - including Adobe Illustrator® and Adobe Photoshop® files - by simply saving their work and publishing to the Centric 8 suite to promote early collaboration with brand managers, merchandisers and other non-designers.
