Pros
I have used MicroPlanner for many years during my employment with Boeing Australia Pty.Ltd. During this time I found X-Pert to be a user friendly package with powerful reporting mechanisms for various areas of the Project, including, but not limited to, Resources, EVM Management, and real life progress.
Cons
Limitations with re-Baselining an established Schedule with regards to Rolling Wave Planning functions, CCPs etc.
Overall
I would recommend system enhancement of the above to allow for updating an "existing baseline" based on a "Filtered View" of selected activities and not the entire Schedule.

Pros
X-Pert is one of the few tools that actually focus on the CPM network diagram as the primary way of understanding the critical path logic in a schedule this is nearly impossible from a Bar Chart.
High quality reports and excellent resource scheduling back up the tools capabilities.
Cons
Limited capability as an enterprise tool and limited data integration with other systems.
Overall
Ideal tool for scheduling major projects, stand alone. Also really useful for preparing documentation to support court analysis of the critical path and associated delay and disruption claims.
