Comments: Pros
Excellent Dashboard and user interface, easy to interpret statistics and very easy to make graphs/charts/visual aids for the data you want to present
Customizeable to your organization
Pricing is good once you figure out your organizational needs

Cons
Difficult to implement so I would suggest hiring a consultant to build what you need before you get started
More applicable for larger businesses so small businesses might find some problems
Can be expensive and add up quickly!

Comments: I've had the benefit of seeing a lot of CRMs in my professional life and can say without a doubt that Salesforce is the most user-friendly, feature-rich and easiest to implement. I think the major downside is that reports are not nearly as intuitive or flexible as I would like, but otherwise it is wholly flexible and powerful and only made more so by its enormous network of AppExchange applications- big fan!

Comments: Salesforce is the most logically organized of the major CRMs. Even with UI/UX changes coming, it already looks great. It's very easy to admin at a high level but has amazing depth for developers.

The biggest issue I've had is with support. However, I understand support is a big challenge for such a big and rich platform

Comments: We use Salesforce at our company to manage customer communications and overall account management. In addition, the sales team uses salesforce on their mobile devices ie: ipad and phones to document their conversations with customers right after their in-person meetings. We utilize these conversations during our weekly sales meetings to understand the customers current status, concerns and identify potential opportunities. The approach is in early stages, but we have had some success in identifying long term opportunities and it's also helping us in early detection of potential issues that we can avoid turning into larger complex relationship issues.

Comments: We are an early stage startup, and needed an CRM solution we could implement in an snap that does not need months of implementation time and complicated project management and resources. But we also wanted an solution that we wouldn't have to abandon after 1-2 years. We reviewed quite an few solutions, but the stability and flexibility of Salesforce tipped our decision in their favor. There's an lot of really good resources and companies out there, and we found one that got us up and running in an really short time. Given the constant product enhancements and considering how easily our contracts and sales teams have adopted the solution, I think we will be using salesforce for an long time.

The startup pricing might seem an lot, but if you calculate long term benefits and factor in your growth projections, it provides an real value and avoids disruption and productivity loss from implementing another solution in the future.

It also has the most user-friendly interface, the best uses for contact management.

Comments: Hi, I began using Salesforce a few months back to help promote Ross University's marketing to aspiring medical students mainly in the United States. The wealth of information, pamphlets and documents needed was easily stored in the Salesforce Marketing cloud. The biggest pro is the ability to know the customers with real time data - driven intelligence. The one con is the fact that my specific software tended to crash often but the customer service desk was very helpful and offered me tips on how to overcome the problem. Thanks to Salesforce, our admission rates are the highest ever.

Comments: Salesforce.com is a very powerful tool if you in sales--in my case at a trade association. Definitely gives you access to the information you need quickly. Using Salesforce.com is not always intuitive. The installation of the Salesforce.com button on Outlook is a herculean task--while it's working, it's incredibly useful, but the installation has stumped two experienced IT guys (and yours truly). Oye Vay!

I recently added the Salesforce.com app to my iPhone, before I want to Mobile World Congress--it was amazing. It allowed me to pull up contacts, contact history, account ownership, opportunities, all on the fly, and made my experience at the large tradeshow 100 times for efficient.

Comments: I've used Salesforce for a few years now. The reporting tools have only gotten better. Data.com is incredibly useful for the transfer of information to my accounts. It is great that they upgraded that service to allow for multiple contact selections on multiple pages. I also love the SF for Outlook Integration. My only problem with that service is it is very inconsistent. Often I have to re-install the integration to get the icon back in Outlook. Also the integration doesn't work when I send emails off-site. That would be very helpful, so that I don't have to come back into the office and manually add the work to salesforce.

Comments: Nothing manages your business contacts as reliably as Salesforce.
Pros: this is software that does what it is supposed to do, every time, through thick and thin. If your office burns down, Salesforce will remember exactly what you were doing, and everything will be in good shape.
Cons: it can take a lot of clicks to get where you want to be, and not everything is named clearly enough for you to be able to find it when you want it. The tiered pricing model may mean that some features, not just additional users, cost extra.

Comments: Summary: Salesforce has the potential to be a very powerful tool, but will likely require special expertise (read: more money i.e. hiring a consultant) to implement an effective, tailored solution. Mobile experience is limited to the point of being an 'emergency only' option.

Pros:
- Potential for very tailored customization that suits a wide variety of use cases
- Growing app exchange marketplace
- Basic admin is doable with some time/effort from a non-technical resource
- Variety of useful interfaces with third party products/services (e.g. Outlook, GovWin)
- Search capability has improved and is now vital to experience
- Customer service is generally responsive and helpful

Cons:
- OotB implementation is clunky and not intuitive, especially for non-technical folks
- Poor mobile experience: slow performance, frequent crashes, and limited capability
- Expensive: the cost of licenses can be prohibitive to broader implementation across business units, especially for small/mid-size companies
- Customization can be very difficult without a dedicated technical resource (dev/sys admin)

Comments: I spent years of my life living in Salesforce for the job I had. I utilized it for prospect generation, opportunity tracking, and case management. There are many ways it helped keep me on track but a few things seemed to complicate my processes more than necessary. One major thing I would have loved changing is the ability to bulk delete/complete tasks. My queue stacked up over the years and rather than being able to pull a list and mass-check the tasks I wanted to get rid of, or perhaps marked as completed, I had to open each one (usually across multiple tabs) and edit, change, save, etc. That took up so much of my time and really hindered productivity.
There were also some complications with running searches on clients with/without certain assets, that gummed up the works. It was difficult (not even sure we achieved it but perhaps it's possible now) to look up past clients who had one asset but not the other, or an asset activated within a certain date range, so we could do targeted outreach and upgrades. It has been about 6 months since I worked with Salesforce so perhaps these things were fixed, or perhaps they were possible and my team never received clear instructions.
Aside from these things I can't pretend I didn't need it to survive. It was the only process I knew but I became very dependent on it.

Comments: I literally don't understand how companies can operate without Salesforce. I've worked with Salesforce at my last two companies (and a home grown system and Microsoft Dynamics at two others). I think SFDC takes the cake of all my experiences. It can be a little hard to get adoption and compliance, but having the reports on activities, accounts, opportunities is essential.

We also use Marketo, and the integration with SFDC is very easy! If you're using any kind of marketing software it definitely needs to connect with your CRM and SFDC seems to have the best integration options that I've seen.

My biggest complaint about SFDC has to be on the admin side. It's very flexible in terms of what you can do, but if you don't have programming skills (I don't) sometimes it can get really challenging. But SFDC has tons of certified partners that can step in to help out if needed. I think it's important to use tools with big communities.

Comments: I use Salesforce daily and while I appreciate its ability to keep my relationships with my clients organized, the interface needs a serious facelift. Creating/generating reports, logging activities, new contacts, etc. is beyond counterproductive and visually dated. In a world where user experience is so valuable, I'm shocked that the interface has stayed this way for so long. The functionality is decent and I continue to utilize it for its scope. However, I know I could use it for more things, I just don't have the patience to navigate through such a dated software system.

Comments: The customer service at SalesForce is a major disappointment. Normally, I open a ticket and then solve the issue on my own at a later point in time. I hate how they call me after I've submitted to ticket just to talk to me and never have a solution and have to call me back again. That just feels like a waste of my time. They are inefficient and normally completely unhelpful.

Comments: I have been working with Salesforce within a small company of 20 people for a year and a half. I work with it daily as it is integrated into our working processes. I have found the modules that I work with to operate virtually flawlessly and cannot recall an incident where Salesforce has failed to run within the domain that I use it. It integrates my workflow and greatly reduces the incidents of duplicate data entry. That being said, because of it's ability to do many things, the learning curve is on the high side. I have found that when I need to understand and do something new, it takes quite the effort to find and understand the instructions and may need customer support assistance. I have also found that some of the modules could use some software/technology updating as they lack features that we have become accustomed to within the digital world, but that doesn't inhibit what I need to do, just not as user friendly. Overall, my impression of the product is very high and I would not hesitate to recommend it.

Comments: I enjoy using Salesforce because it keeps all of the information I need in one place. My favorite feature is the ability to set tasks for myself and others in our company; along with getting reminders for these tasks.

Another is the ability to run reports and gather information for tracking information or just gathering details.

I am aware that Salesforce has the ability to do much more than I am even aware of. I do know that online training is available; however I had previously found them to be long and a bit dry to want to continue to use this form of training.

Comments: I started using Salesforce seven months ago when I began a new position as a marketing and sales administrator for a small-medium business. The benefit of using a CRM tool like Salesforce is that no matter the size of your business, you are provided with an abundance of resources from online communities, to knowledge documents and to pre-recorded webinars that are all there to help you learn the system. As a new admin, my main mission is to re-configure Salesforce to meet my company's newly structured sales processes and business workflows. I was fortunate enough to attend Salesforce's huge conference, Dreamforce 2014, and I found the event to be chock full of relevant solutions and inspirational ideas and training classes that have completely benefited me. I enjoy working in Salesforce! There isn't a day that goes by that I do not learn something new! One downside is that since I am a small-medium sized business, if I am stuck on a function or need a developer's help in creating a function, then I really need to depend on the Salesforce online and developer community. My company is considering using a consultant to help us with data management and other configuration that is above my base knowledge. Also, we are working on syncing our mobile application data into the system which is going to take some work. Overall, Salesforce can be customized to meet your business needs and can provide you the insight into metrics that you need.
