Comments: Transitioning to touchbistro from digital dining was one of the best decisions we've made. The money output up front made it worthwhile in itself so you aren't forking out 15k for a set system. Keep up the good work touchbistro

Pros: Easy to use . Perfect size . Love the cloud feature .

Cons: It does occasionally crash

Overall: We have been with Touch bistro for over 4 years now . Very smooth and easy to use . It does occasionally crash , but resorted easily with a restart of the app . We noticed a price increase and we hope they keep it affordable .

Pros: Accuracy of accounting.

Cons: System always shuts down. Orders not always show up on the screen.

Overall: The system is great with a few flaws, several times the system will not allow servers to log in , the message says , the server might be down, also the system is always updating therefore leaving the system non operational. The system is now unassigning servers which makes it impossible to determine who made the sales, that leaves the door open to theft. Pretty good system but a little to expensive for all of the headaches , over priced by about $$$ . Other category issues.

Overall: I was quite happy with TB system when we first opened the shop but not anymore. It kicks us out from the system all the time. It is really annoying and risky as it mainly kicks us out from the system when our customers process their credit/debit cards or we send out the order to the kitchen or bar, which means lots of confusion with poor customer service.
I talked & spent time with tech service but there seems to be no solution at all except me buying new version of iPads, which is again absurd, as we just opened about a year ago. Tech service or customer service of TB were lazy enough not to recommend me to get the most recent version of iPad and told me to get the oldest one back then. I will definitely switch to some other system whenever I have a chance, also with my second location. I cannot stand it anymore!

Recommendations to other buyers: limited access due to the main server in the venue. I didn't think about it seriously but you want to modify or change your system from home or other places.

Cons: Slow to react to commands sometimes and forced updates at random times of day. No rounding function for pennies so my cash NEVER balances, which sucks for accounting purposes and I'm unable to hold staff accountable for unbalanced cash outs.

Overall: I enjoy the software, but the last update caused my debit machine to not work and I lost a lot of money. It's also been operating slower that when I first used it.

Recommendations to other buyers: Not integrated with ReUp yet which is too bad. I really wish TB was integrated with TD Bank for merchant use. It would save me hundreds of dollars!

Pros: ease of use

Cons: 1) some tipouts get passed through to the credit card processor but fail to capture in the POS, then the POS won't take a tip amount and assumes it's neither entered nor will it let you re enter the tip because the final authorization is complete.
2) in security settings for staff, to enable a staff member to correct their own mistakes before sending an order to the kitchen, because of the way you've set things up, I also have to authorize staff to VOID items that have already been sent, which I refuse to do. so I end up having to approve every little change, whether or not they've been sent to the kitchen... bad design!

Overall: you need to be able to authorize users to delete items without granting them void permissions. Also sometimes the POS accepts a tipout amount and passes it to the credit card processor but then forgets that it already processed the tip amount. At that point it refuses to accept any tipout amount and forces us to do an override on the preauthorization, which in turn means manual calculation of total tipout for the server and understates their tip income on wage reporting....

Comments: So far over the first year of our use it's gone pretty smoothly. We had some issues with gift cards not being accept due to an update required for the TB software - that took a long time resolving but other than that it's been pretty good.

Pros: Simple, ease of install, improves efficiency.

Overall: TouchBistro was the perfect solution for our small take-out/pizzeria. From install to training, everything was straightforward and simple. The support staff are great. We have lowered order mistakes, better control on add-ons and special orders and better efficiency at the counter. The sales statistics are very helpful and have helped us improve our bottom line. I highly recommend the software for even the smallest business.

Pros: works well, easy to use and train, good features, and good customer support

Cons: yearly fees every year makes me wonder if it is worth it.

Overall: I have 3 restaurants using touchbistro. i am happy with the service, the app, and the way it works. But the monthly fees year after year are very expensive. to be honest, for the same price of 1 years fees, you can get a great system with no monthly fee. If they want to keep customers like me, after the first years, a drastic reduction in monthly fee will be necessary.

Comments: Touch Bistro has been good overall, but the complaint we have with it is that when we send tickets back to the kitchen, we have to wait until the ticket prints before we can do anything else. Basically, the program is paused while tickets print. This can be a real hassle during busy times, which are most of the times. Also, the program "messes up" a lot, requiring us to constantly close it and re-open it. If these issues can be fixed, I will be happy with the software.

Pros: Ease of putting in products + costs, assigning staff, third-party integrations (ie. 7Shifts)

Cons: Some of the reports lack in what they return, Reports should be fully automated, Crashes happen (though not frequently), hard to run in a building with no dedicated network

Overall: Touchbistro is an easy right out-of-the-box solution for all sorts of styles of restaurant service. It's fairly quick to set-up and support is excellent.

You can easily throw new staff to it and have them come out on top feeling like they understand how to use it very quickly. Intuitive as an iPad/iPhone program should be to new users.

Reporting is very good unless you're expecting TouchBistro to do a lot of the heavy lifting - it's good, but not quite amazing on the back end quite yet.

Be aware of how you organize your products early on for the reporting that you do get. It's only as good as the input and thought you put into it while your business is just a baby - that can come back to nip you once you have a better feel for both the software and your establishment.

Recommendations to other buyers: You won't find anything better on the market for a full menu restaurant for an iPad at this price point. Full stop.

Pros: The features, support and regular updates.

Cons: The initial hidden training & installation fees.

Overall: TouchBistro was a pleasant experience through and through. When we were looking for a POS solution it stood out as the best offer of value. The features were perfect for a cafe, and the regular updates kept on improving the overall experience. My only disappointment were the initial hidden fees for mandatory training and installation. I still would've purchased the product if I had known about these fees in advance, but not denoting these fees anywhere ahead of time was a big disappointment and made me second-guess my purchase at the time.

Cons: No provision for tax collection

Overall: In order to be really useful you need to develop the software to accommodate the Ontario tax code. Setting up the menu to collect the correct taxes is a pain.

Comments: My cousin who runs a food truck uses this product. Although I cannot personally speak for it on a daily basis, I have used it and it was really straight forward to use and extremely convenient. He said he's never had trouble with the company or product and unlike many of the POS he used in the past which he struggled with. So good job Touch Bistro! Keep up the good work

Pros: Relatively easy to train new staff.

Cons: On the Administrative side, it is very cumbersome.

Overall: Basically, works okay. This is our first restaurant so our only experience with a POS. For the amount of money this costs, I feel it falls short on the reporting side as it relates to accounting. Changes seem to happen very slowly if at all (only 1 year). Customer services getting better. Whenever I have the need to speak with a live person I've expressed my frustration as well as the issue which initiated the contact. TB prefers emailing their tech support team.

Recommendations to other buyers: Make sure you set it up correctly the first time and REALLY understand the shortcoming of the system.

Overall: We wanted to put a POS system in our fairstand. Checked it out and liked that TouchBistro specifically mentioned fairstand and small businesses. The person who answered the phone told us they weren't interested and said he would send us the name of another company that we may want to call. Really!!! And he didn't even do that! The real test of a company is how they treat the smallest of customers, and apparently they do not value their customers enough to even sell them the tools needed, not to mention the program.

Pros: I like the ease of daily use, set up, and how I can change menu items in less than a minute!

Cons: The Cloud Reporting is currently still in beta phase. I really wish all the bugs were ironed out.

Overall: Prior to using TouchBistro, my brewery was using several different systems (cash register, cc With TouchBistro, not only have we been able to reduce our transaction times to mere seconds, we now have "one stop shopping" for all of our necessary business data like sales, labor, inventories.

Recommendations to other buyers: This software is so intuitive right out of the box. I was able to get my system live and employees trained in a morning!

Comments: We love TouchBistro for our wine bar. It is extremely user friendly and we are able to quickly switch between different types of wine and our food section. It is very easy to set up specials of the day and happy hour pricing. If you are familiar with Apple products, you will love the set up of Touch Bistro. The splitting the tab function is very convenient and easy to use. We also love the ability to ring someone up right at their table and allow them to sign on the screen. I would definitely recommend TouchBistro.

Comments: Easy to learn and simple to use. In the beginning we had some issues with labor reporting but TB soon integrated with 7Shifts which made it easier to track employees and labor costs.

Comments: Great pos system using ipads. Simple and easy setup. local server based network for speed and security. Customer service is top notch - they were able to help me work through setting my menu and very complicated list of item modifiers

Comments: pros:
It ha all we need to successfully run our POS needs, it is getting even better with the integration policy taking place now.

cons:
The staff privilege needs some improving as to allow manager to customize them.
The take out and catering notifications needs also some improvement , it would be great to have a audible alert , instead of an screen message. Even better if it could alert cell phones.

The paper usage on credit card transaction , printing two receipt . would be great if it can be optional, this feature is not of so much use for some venues.

Our old system for both us and our employees. Once you do your reading programming was a breeze and updating pricing/products is quick. Love touch bistro cloud and the ability to watch sales/product/employee reports. Cons are that you can not use existing gift cards from old system. Not interested in using a third party for gift cards.

Comments: TouchBistro has been a great change for our store. We were originally using Quickbooks which was slow, difficult to use, and had too many options that weren¿t useful to us. It also had to be on a computer and took up lots of space.

TouchBistro is THE easiest point of sale system that that I have ever used. Training new staff is so simple ¿ it usually only takes 15 minutes for employees to get the hang of it, and feel comfortable using it. Training is significantly cut down. The reporting is great, and it¿s nice you can export as a CSV file.

The only issue is that there is not a good inventory management capability. Hopefully that will change soon.

Comments: I have been working in the restaurant industry for about 10 years now and I have never come across such a user friendly system. TB is a tech forward system that allows you to easily manage your business just by the swipe of a finger! The software can allow payments to be completed table side, email receipts and wirelessly transfer orders to the kitchen and bar.

Comments: We are a small, 10 table restaurant. The fact that we do not have to take up floor space for a central pos system in itself is invaluable. Also, increasing turn times, especially on the weekends has increased sales dramatically. The only "cons" would be in the reporting section, but nothing that I can't work around.

Comments: I absolutely love the design and layout of the app. It is so easy to function and navigate, whether it be the set up of the lounge area or the overall function we use the most which is "starting tabs", and checking out. It's easy to add product/remove product and extremely clear on doing so. The functionality is superb and the flexibility of creating you're own personal layout makes it easy for visual learners. I would reccomend this app to any small business owner, big or small restaurant, or any Cafe.

The only negative downside to this app, sometimes the app will freeze on the iPad - which I believe might be due to our server or the connection between our printer and the iPad . Other than that I think it's great!

Comments: TouchBistro has been a game changer for the way we operate our business. We have a unique setup as we are a retail store, high traffic bar, take out beer sales and small restaurant. The ease of use and adaptability has made this locally produced software a key asset in the operation of our overall day to day. Easy to train new staff, big for us as we do have a summer students and being an iOS based device its pretty much turn key when introducing new member of the team to the general functions of the system! Comments: So far so good! Touchbistro is very easy to use b/c it is iPad based and most of our staff is familiar with using iPads. It makes training a breeze! My only concern at this point is that when I create new items on one iPad I don't always see them appear on our other iPads. I will contact customer service about this on Monday

Comments: We were excited to try TouchBistro because of its promise of a enterprise backed semi-cloud setup. Sadly, our trial (which you must pay for if you want to actually try the multi-user setup) failed at the payment processing stage (which support was not able to solve). I found the system had neither the benefits of the cloud nor the advantages of an enterprise system. iOS base is nice but too many limitations at the monthly price point.

Comments: I was excited to go to touch base iPad system... The process seemed easy enough... No it is not a simple install.... It has many issues. Support is slow to respond and fix issues ... Additionally they treat you as if your the issue. of your a working owner, manager there is little tolerance for your schedule if you 3 hours behind them. many issue never fixed I had to figure out on my own and for USA they might not be suitable slcertainly for large operations .

Comments: One of the major factors in us selecting TouchBistro was the ease of inputting customer information in the seating, and then allowing us to track the customer as they move about the brewery. We are different than a restaurant in that our customers don't sit and stay in one place. They move around to visit friends, move to the outdoor seating and then back inside, and combine tables when more people show up. TouchBistro allows us to not only track where they are, but who they are and what they have ordered no matter which of our wait staff is taking care of them.

Comments: After reviewing numerous systems narrowed it down to 3. Went with touch bistro primarily based on their responsiveness to many, many questions. Glad we did. The system has worked well for us and is constantly improving.

Comments: I haven't had too many issues with this software, overall quite good. I do feel security could be better. I run a mostly take out and delivery operation and feel this software is better suited for sit down dining, but we are managing. there is definitely room to improve on this front.

Comments: pros: quick to learn, easy to set up , always updating , virtual menu is great and customers service knows how the software in and out.

Cons: time clock feature is a little difficult to read/understand . Wish it was connect to my grubhub account .

Comments: Being a midsize FSR in NYC all we wanted was a modern yet simple POS. We were able to download the TouchBistro and try it for 30 days - after 5 days or so we realized how simple it was and were able to book a remote install and training. From the 3 POS systems we shopped TouchBistro was the "prettiest" and the pricing was what we deemed fair.
Overall we are a happy TouchBistro customer in West Village, NYC.
