Cons: Biometrics dies not work with upgrades. Printer stops working randomly.

Overall: Alex is an asset to Roger Software. He is always friendly and very very helpful and knowledgeable. He has helped us in several occasions and always has been excellent.

Recommendations to other buyers: It should allow us to delete customers, employees and give more control to end user.

Comments: A couple of weeks ago I wanted to upgrade my salons to the latest version of supersalon. At the same time I wanted to add an extra computer screen at my check out desks. I worked from start to finish with the support staff to get this completed. he was very professional and I think went out of his way to help with my less that normal knowledge of computers. He told me what equipment I needed to add the additional screens in one case I got equipment that would not work and again he took his time and explained all of the details I needed to know . He was very customer proactive. If he was working on something and it was taking longer than expected he would call me back to explain and to be sure I was not just waiting for a return call. This was the best experience I have ever had with Super Salon. Your techs are always helpful but it was clear that he in my opinion was the most knowledgeable I have worked with.................................

Comments: I have talked to customer service on several occasions for several reasons and the customer service technicians are always very helpful and professional. They do everything to assist us will our request.
Yesterday Rafael was super awesome help me set up a new payroll category.
The thing that I find challenging is some times I have to wait for a couple hours to get a call back and though I understand they are addressing more urgent issues first it would be nice to have an estimated call back time 2 weeks ago when we needed our new salons set up we had to wait for hours to get a call back.
It would be nice to have an estimated wait time or a call back from reception to advise of longer delays.
Also we struggle with the mobile app it does not show accurate wait times which leads to unhappy customers who sometimes are not very patient with us.
Over all the positives out weigh the items needing improvement and the technicians and really thorough and helpful.

Comments: Customer support would be 2 stars if it wasn't today! Customer support representative was definitely a LOT friendlier and much more helpful than everyone else that's helped us out the past two years. He asked about my day and cracked jokes while fixing our sign for us. Every other person that's"helped" us just talks to us like we're dumb. I just wish problems could be resolved quicker because it does affect us being able to keep the shop running smoothly (credit card issues took 2 days to get fixed, people are still being checked in as "unknown customer" and no one is helping us fix it...they're not even acknowledging it).

Pros: I can get the info off of it I need to payroll. Track my sales and inventory and it is user friendly.

Overall: Rafael very helpful in fixing the problem we had with the computer. He walk me through so I had an understanding of what I need to do to assist him. He took my call at the salon when I brought out the computer so he could connected it to high speed for me. I give Rafaeal a 10+++ for his help in fixing the problem and his excellent customer service!!!!! As for your receptionist they have the worst customer service I have ever seen. Rude when you ask a question either they ignore you or will not give you an answer. I would have to say hello because the phone line sounded dead and they would come back sarcastic to you "I'm still here" Here are 2 responses I got in one day from your receptionist: I ask how many people are in front of me so I have an idea how long it would be refused to tell me. Here is the other one both in the same day: I was told I was 9th on the list called back about 1.5hrs later to see where I was in the Q was now told I was 15 I was bumped down because they decided that my call wasn't important. I had a virus had to get another computer needed to get it up and running and needed to get the information from the salon inputted onto the computer so the staff can get paid and know our sales. When Matt owned the company never had this problem in the pass only since it has been sold. I told your receptionist that they have very poor customer service skills. They are your front line to your business they are there to help the customer not make them upset or angry.

Overall: I've been a Supercuts owner for almost 2 years now. I'm a former IT exec, and I've never seen an application- or software company- developed, supported and run SO POORLY. There are no MANY bugs, poor or missing functionality, and horrible support. Any other SW company in another industry would be out of business by now. If I had an option, I would leave them in a heart beat. But I can't.

Comments: I needed to reinstall Windows and have supersalon do some work on my back office system following . I am completely computer illiterate and Esteban Espinoza patiently walked me through the steps again and again and was very kind and helped me get through the process. I made mistakes along the way and he handled me like a pro!

I really could not have done it without him. Computer seems to be working today:))

Comments: I switch credit card systems and it took three times serparate times to get the card reader working. John was wonderful he got me up and working out within minutes. Not sure why the two other tec could not get me up and working. John was very professional and definitely knew what he was doing. He was very pleasant and professional.

Pros: does more things then I know exist. must get MORE fully trained in order to help my employees.

Cons: glitches in the programming software still not fixed.

Overall: Lack of training on the front end is a hinderance. On-going, its difficult to get timely support. While the receptionist that answer the phone are unimpressed (and you are made to feel so) with my urgent need, tech support guys feverishly try to help as many people as expeditiously as humanly possible. Once trained on the problem at hand, I can assist my Managers and Stylists. Some of the issues I can not fix myself.

Recommendations to other buyers: train from the owners down. get more tech guys. understand what urgent means.

Pros: SuperSalon integrates smoothly with all of my needs as a salon owner

Cons: the browser freezes frequently

Overall: Rep spent time helping me access a specific feature of Super Salon. I had some issues on my end with my internet company and he told me what to relay to them. This company actually did something that wasn't in my best interest and rep corrected that and I still have the access I wanted!!

Comments: My technical support rep is just awesome! My shop needed the update to SuperSalon and he was able to do it in a few hours. I had one of my other shops updated and it took them 3 days. He was able to fix all issues and really took his time to let me know what is going on. I now ask for him specifically whenever I need tech support.

Overall: This is must have software for any salon. Incredibly supportive of all sales, inventory management and accounting needs. There are a couple of minor improvements needed with integration to our digital menu board, but I know updates are coming!

Pros: easy time punching and reports. Easy way to track inventory.

Cons: Delay in getting a tech person to call me back.

Overall: Everything so far has been really good. Tech support has been very helpful. We are first-time salon owners, so we need quite a bit of help! My only complaint is that when I call tech support, I almost always have to wait quite a while for a callback and for the resolution of the issue or question.

Recommendations to other buyers: It would be very helpful if stylists could post and trade shifts with each other via the system.

Pros: The ability to cross check everything that goes on, along with having live feed access

Cons: Needs a better user guide. Stylists are very visual people. We need a step by step program to show us exactly what we are looking for.

Overall: Diana miller has been an amazing assistance to our franchise. I am computer challenged and get easily frustrated trying to use the super salon system. She spent so much time today breaking it down piece by piece. Helping me learn different parts of the back office I had no idea how to use. Her knowledge of salons helped tremendously in showing me what to look for. How to cross reference things and how to find what I was looking for. I only wish I had known about her 5 years ago when we first got the systems in our salons. We have only been using the most basic things with the system but with the information she gave me today I can effectively keep up with my inventory starting 2017 off right. I can't wait for our next over the phone tutoring session! I have so much to learn!! I feel like I struck gold! Thank you so much for helping us!

Overall: Every time i call the help desk they ask me what is the problem, I tell them and they say someone will call be back. When the technician calls back he/she asks me "what is the problem". Seems redundant and inefficient. There are also things that I would like to run a report on that are inaccessible. Seems to me that if the information is in the system I should be able to extract it in some way. Even if I have to write a custom report.

Pros: Tech support. fairly easy to teach to new employees, somewhat intuitive. Lack of down time.

Cons: Tedious, redundant, time consuming steps registering customers when they call for appointments. Options listed on the screen, i.e. customer waiting button, but cannot be used. Confusing online registration is a fairly common complaint from customers. Product Handling function is somewhat difficult to master.

Overall: After 6 years of using SS, I have to say that I feel it has declined in many ways to the point that I'm wondering about moving to another POS company. The tech support is outstanding but I feel the program becoming less and less user friendly and that SS is not hearing our concerns in order to fix the problems. Checking a customer into the shop has become a tedious process. There are options listed on the screens but are not able to be used. Online appointments are confusing to the first time customer. I appreciate a lot of what SS does but I'm getting tired of dreading "updates" for fear of what may happen to make it more complicated.

Recommendations to other buyers: Please call to discuss. It's hard to explain any advice without being at the computer screen to walk you through these concerns.

Comments: We took over an existing Supercuts with Supersalon. Did not get the full training we would have had with an organic store opening however the system is fairly user friendly and easy to figure out. Plenty of tutorials and the support from Rogers was great. The support on the application whenever we had questions was fantastic. Diana Miller was extremely knowledgeable and able to help us. The second week we had to update our product master, receive inventory , run our dashboard and other sales reports and she helped us through the whole process. The technical support with the system was also very good. They resolved any issues we had. Would not have got through the first two weeks without these folks. One feature deficiency I felt with super Salon was the inability to receive and import our initial product purchase order into the database electronically. We had to enter and update the product master item by item. Now that we are set up it should not be such a chore with future orders.

Pros: What I like the most is that you can access to the POS remotely and you can be helped remotely too.

Cons: Everytime I call Supersalon I have to wait for them to call me back and this time it took 1hour and a half to return my call. It is always like that. You never can be helped right away unless you have a customer in front of you. The waiting time is really long. I would like this to be fixed.

Comments: When I set up a new employee through iOffice, the password never works. Tomorrow will be one of our busiest days of the year and I have a stylist helping out at a different salon. I am acting manager as the one we have is new and still in training. The past few times I have added a new employee, the password hasn't worked and we have to wait for customer service to call back to fix the issue. Tonight, I wanted to skip the frustration tomorrow and have them fix it tonight. I was told this was a manager duty and they were not able to do change the password for me. After some discussion, Sergio recommended I try a different browser. I did, and he was able to verify that the password was working. I was relieved as I now the shop will be slammed and I didn't want any extra hassles in the morning. I am so grateful as I have had to do this numerous times, but didn't realize it was the browser that was causing the issue! A great big thank you to Sergio for his patience, even when I was not, and for his help in solving this ongoing issue!

Pros: It is easy to use in the salon- I love the option of using the mouse or the touch screen. It is easy to learn for the stylists and is intuitive. For the most part, things are where you would think they should be.

Cons: I can't do everything from iOffice. As an owner I have had to play the part of manager some and it would make life much easier to be able to do whatever I need to do from iOffice. Specifically, I would like to be able to add clock-ins/outs, not just edit them & submit an order, not just finalize- that seems backwards. I not only want to be able to see the order before it is submitted, I want to be able to submit it.

Overall: First, I want to say that Arik is AMAZING!! He is professional, courteous, and easy to work with. His idea of making the bright sign library is SO wonderful!!! Having a team member that is this fantastic is a true asset to any organization. The library makes my life easier because I have ready-made options to make the bright sign more attractive and help in-salon advertising.

My Supersalon Experience:
It is frustrating when an update is pushed through and causes more issues for my salon. The wait list worked perfectly before and now calling in or using the app has the guest go to the bottom of the list when we check that they are here. This makes for pissed off guests and makes the job of our team more difficult and much less efficient.

Recommendations to other buyers: I spend time on the phone with the support staff weekly. Most of the time it is because I don't know how to do what I need to do, or I can't do it from iOffice. It would be fabulous to have a library of videos (there are a few great ones already) that newbies like me (2 years and still calling) can use to learn all the ins and outs. I know you have a users manual, but honestly, who reads those?? Not many of us. When you start in this business, you don't even know what to ask or where to start or what you don't know. I think a library of knowledge of all the cool features you have would be wonderful. It would also save your customer support team hundreds of hours. The other thing would be great is transparency. When you release an update that screws something else up- just own it. Tell me so I know you know and give a realistic time line of when you will have it fixed. Pros: Once the BrightSign is setup correctly and linked to the POS system, it just worked. I tested the application on my iPhone and verified the screen updates the waiting list as it should. In addition, the news feed scrolls along the bottom.

Cons: The staff who came and did the in-store implementation most likely screwed up the install by programming the IP address incorrectly. I realize they needed the store to be linked up to the online application that facilitates online check-ins. Still though, I would think when Supersalon installed the POS system they would have a process to test the functionality of manually queuing up a few customers and seeing if they showed up on the waiting list screen, powered by BrightSign. Due to them not doing this, we had to spend hours on the phone with support, multiple times, before this was resolved. The fact that it never worked to begin with is troubling and hopefully this will raise awareness to the person responsible for the in-store installs so they can do a better job in the future.

Overall: I worked with Arik Trejos to resolve issues we had with the BrightSign unit at Supercuts. The interesting part was this never worked from the time the store opened about six weeks ago. As such, things has changed in the environment and when I was brought in, they were looking for someone to figure out what was happening. I ended up figuring out that someone programmed the Brightsign unit on a different IP subnet than they did for everything else on the network. Through working with Arik Trejos, he had to try multiple adjustments to the configuration, including doing a factory default. The USB thumb drive had to be unplugged from the BrightSign and into the POS computer about eight different times in order to finally get this working. Arik did a really nice job, was very helpful and went out of his way to resolve our problem. We wouldn't have been able to get this working without him.

Comments: The software is relative easy to use. The support is completely hit or miss! Today, I had great support from Carlos who was very open to how I was explaining the issue, because he was truely listening we solved the issue in a matter of minutes. Unfortunately, when I initially called last night, the internet phone connection was awful, it was hard to understand the support technician because of his heavy accent. Most importantly, he was not listening to what I was telling him, because of this the phone call lasted over 20 minutes and he didn't solve the problem.

I told him my problem which was the iOffice had not communicated with the salon's computer in almost 21 hours. Since out internet at the salon is super slow he asked if he could call me back when he got done so I didn't have to wait. I was more than happy to do that since I was multitasking while on the phone with him. It might have taken him 15-20 minutes to call me back but most of that time I'm sure was waiting on the salon's slow internet. The problem was fixed and all is well. I have always had such great service whenever I call and that is SO rare these days so when I get great service I am VERY happy. Thank you Rafael for your help!!!

Comments: We asked for the same setup but far from what we asked. We asked all our customer data, including history, couldn't do that because someone felt customer history not important. We were shipped the wrong receipt printer twice, scanner failed to work after a few days. The new POS release has some major bugs and isn't very user friendly. The lady that was in charge of our setup should be fired. She is worthless, she failed a simple task and caused delay.

Only good group is the support staff that finally did help get our setup close to our other stores.

Comments: Wait list for call ahead and mobile ap users system doesn't include those on the list already that have used these features in the estimated wait time it only counts those fiscally here. Hope this can get updated next update.

I like the thorough record keeping, but would appreciate more short cuts for basic services.

Comments: We have some problems with the system being overly detailed, especially when we ring a ticket through. It would be nice to have a short cuts to expedite the process. 3 -4 screens to put someone into service, and 2 - 3 screens to ring out is too time consuming.

Comments: The integration of peripherals is excellent. Setup was quick and with a solid internet connection, things run smoothly and reliably. Comments: I have had super salon since it became super salon. A very long time. Had a very old Star printer. As we had to upgrade from windows we kept the old dinosaur printer. And got it to work. Well I decide it was time to purchase a new one before it quit working and purchased another Star. When I called for help in connecting I was warned there could be issue's. We got it to work(this was a a sunday) Monday morning discovered the cash drawer wouldn't open. Called got that fixed. The new printer has a cutter and it didn't work. I called on Tuesday talked to Rafael Blando he tried to get it to work. But then let me know it wasn't compatible with super salon. Told me what kind I needed and also referred me to Jeff for other brands. When we used the cash drawer again it wouldn't open. So I called Super Salon back. Not sure who I talked to then but became very frustrated. He just keep saying I didn't have any virus protection I needed that, he couldn't fix any thing until he did a virus scan. We were busy the salon was open and I just needed the cash drawer to open. So I said I would have to call back. When I called back I asked if there was a way I could talk to the first person who had helped me that morning. That person is Rafael Blando. In less than 5 mins. he had the cash drawer working! He listened. and fixed the problem! He's AWESOME! I am a computer dummy :) They give me anxiety LOL
From the first time to the second time it was a very pleasant experience. Thank you Again Mr. Blando. I am exchanging the printer and will call you when I install the right one if we have problems.

Diana provides truly excellent customer service and her knowledge of the Supersalon system is unsurpassed. As a first time salon owner and user of Supersalon, having Diana available to us on an on-call basis has been invaluably helpful and has provided us with peace of mind knowing she is always there to help us figure things out. Comments: We enabled the void key at 2 salons the pros will be knowing the cause of each void and coaching in the moment on how to prevent some of those voids and possibly prevent some loss/prevention. Cons having to log in to void these tickets on the back end.

Seems pretty intuitive, even for a novice like me.

Excellent reporting - Everyday day it seems like we find a new report we like. If your coming from another software I think your going to like SuperSalon reporting. You can run a report on just about anything you like.

Easy to use for Stylist and Barbers - We love that a lot stylist or barbers already know the system so little training is needed. Even when they don't know the system we have them up and running in no time. This saves a lot money in training.

Customer Service- is outstanding coming from Salon Iris where they never answered the phone. SuperSalon has always got back to us right way. Kory Lamme our favorite tech has always followed up with us and let us know what our status been on our tickets. It's nice knowing that your ticking is being worked on and getting status updates gives us a piece of mind. Added bonus a lot of new hires will already know your system so little training is needed.

We needed a Software that could handle both walk-ins and appointments at high volume and SuperSalon meets those needs. Our customers love the Salon Check-in and the Online-Checkin I am so glad Jennifer Teague talked me into getting Salon Check-in when we first started it was the best investment ever. I also like that Jennifer still keeps in touch with us.

Cons- The system does has some software bugs and the customers services has always been outstanding but instead of adding new features it would be nice if they would correct the bugs they have. Example of bug we have anyone can open a cash drawer with out entering password. (makes it easy for theft) We have been trying to get the permissions fixed for over year now. Our problem may be isolated problem but I want you to know major repairs move slow. Our problem is not a system wide issue but I wanted to show example so you understand things can move slow.

After using the software for over a year overall we are happy with it. We are about to open up more stores we have looked at other software companies but their is nothing that even comes close to compare with it and we feel confident that SuperSalon will be able to handle our growth.. Also I know SuperSalon will get our bugs fixed. My wife is a senior web developer so we understand the process it just takes time. And when you have great customer service from Kory Lamme and Jennifer Teague our sales associate that goes long way and so we can handle the growing pains to a point. They need more Senior Developers

Comments: There just wasn't enough training from your company. Video's just don't cut it when you don't have any hands on experience while watching a video from home. Diana Miller was an amazing trainer but we didn't have enough time for each stylist to use the system so there were LOTS of questions after Diana left. We appreciate that she ALWAYS answers the phone for our calls, but we usually have guests standing in front of us while she is walking us through our problem. Some of which could have been answered with more training. Muddling through pushing buttons trying to figure it out on our own with a guest standing there is NOT GOOD! Hence a call to Diana. Thank goodness she's always available!

Comments: On two separate occasions, the system has frozen up when we were checking our guests out. They signed the receipt and even put in their tip, but walked out as we were clicking the buttons to sent it to processing. We have lost payment on 3 total customers as two of those customers were on the same ticket. The first time I called in the customer service rep used the term "glitch" to describe the situation. Glitch sure sounds to me like a SuperSalon problem.....not a me problem. Now I have noted you have effectively changed your verbiage not to use the word "glitch."

I get it, it's ultimately my problem if payment didn't process. However, I'm not very satisfied with the fact that it has occurred twice. It rarely freezes up, but has happened twice on a check out and I've lost $ because of the problem with the system.

Finally, your customer service reps would do well to just listen sometimes. I'm pretty damn smart and I understand when an explanation is given as to why something happened or occurred. They need not repeat themselves multiple times over and over!

Oops, one more thing. When I say I have a customer waiting, it isn't very professional to tell me that I will have to wait until I get a call back. Bad customer service/delays on your end, end up being bad customer service on my end to my customers.

Comments: I want to comment on my most recent experience with Arik Trejos. The guy is fabulous and fixed a problem we have been struggling with for months, when other techs at SS just had us going in circles. Not only fixed the problem, but made some suggestions on related items that were great and we had no idea we could do. I can't say enough about how helpful Arik is. I usually don't respond to surveys but I was just so impressed. This guy is a real credit to your company.

Comments: So far, there have been minor issues that we have encountered. My most recent call was to get a patch that hadn't been applied. Got the problem resolved quickly, it is those typed of issues that create operational hiccups. Also had a significant issue with getting the Wait Board to function. It took 10 days to finally resolve.

Comments: Arik Trejos assisted me in updating our BrightSigns. He was very responsive and continued to work on the information until it was resolved. I have had some trouble in the past with response times and assistance in fixing our BrightSigns, so I was expecting a long, frustrating process again. That did no happen with Arik!

It would be great if we could complete the updates to our sign messages, as that would make it much easier to make changes as needed. The BrightSign have been very difficult to maintain and update, so any improvements would be great apprciated.

When it works, it is great. There are always, always, always issues with it.

Comments: PRO - KORY LAMME - he is literally one of the best technicians that I have ever used - if not the best. He has gone out of his way to help me with an ongoing conversion to a credit card chip terminal, even going so far as to conference in with ATT to help me out. He is the only one at Super Salon who can seem to consistently fix my computers (Darrell is the other technician who is terrific) - one weekend for example, nobody at Super Salon or the credit card company could fix one of the problems with the terminal, and we were without a credit card terminal for two days until Kory came back on Monday - he fixed it in 10 minutes. In fact, the other technicians made the situation worse, and my managers will only speak with him now. I cannot say enough great things about him, his skill sets and his customer service. He is absolutely terrific!

Thank you for making Kory part of your team!

Comments: PROs: good for stylists as it's visual
CONs: Poor documentation on how to use the system, and how the system should be used in conjunction with processes. The instruction manual explains each field, but not how it fits into the big picture. Specifically I've had trouble with 3 settings under Open/Close ("Carry Over Opening Till from closing", "Expected Opening Till Amount", "Use Opening Till or Counted Till for Computed Cash"). I have read the manual, and spent hours on the phone with multiple technicians in trying to understand how these fields work together, and finally today Alex Munoz helped me confirm my understanding of how they all work together.

The Youtube training tutorials are great, but they are targeted at stylists and manager functions, and not owner/operator functions. Further there are so many configuration settings that it's impossible to walk through all the use-case scenarios. Overall I feel that there needs to be more training materials available for operators. This would significantly reduce the number of calls I make to Supersalon technicians to figure out how the product is meant to work.

Please note that my 3 star review of customer service reflects the fact that there are some very good technicians that have helped me out, and some not so helpful technicians. The not-so helpful ones are either cannot properly understand the problems that I'm experiencing and sometimes put a band-aid on a situation that requires a deeper fix, or are unable to explain how to better use the system to avoid the problem that I'm experiencing. Alex Munoz fits into the better end of the spectrum of technicians.

Comments: I get frustrated with major changes in the overall look and function of the software. People don't take well to change and when you get an update and find a lot of stuff is in different places or formats, it's another learning curve.
Other than that, I've been with Rogers Software for years now and I've always found them to be very attentive. They are good listeners do everything they can to give you what you want and need in the software.
The Customer Service people are always very helpful.

Comments: SuperSalon Tech came in and setup the POS in one day. Install went smoothly. Tech was ery knowledgeable but in hindsight should have been given an additional day to work out a few bugs/glitches with the software and to train employees. Phone calls to Tech were not returned. Kudos to Jennifer Teague! One phone call her and all technical issues were resolved the following day. All in all, SuperSalon is intuitive and easy to use if you are comfortable around a computer.

Comments: The stylists and the salon have been able to work pretty easily with the software, but I cannot comment on how SuperSalon compares to other salon software. I-Office though needs a lot more work with multi salon reporting, and more efficient system to handle large reports, especially when multiple clients are accessing the system.

I could not get into the back door at one of my salons he said he would fix it and call me back
