Neon CRM is the top constituent management platform for organizations and associations that need an all-in-one solution. Manage your supporters, create workflows, and access powerful reports.
I also love that it is web based so I can access it remotely. Overall I am very pleased with the software and feel you get an amazing product for a very reasonable price.
Their billing policies are draconian, the back end is terrible and the front end user experience is so ugly an uncustomizable compared to industry peers.
We've been very, very happy with Bloomerang. This software is light years ahead of what we had, and the fact that it integrates with DonorSearch is amazing.
A downside - Reports are still confusing at times, needing so many steps and not fully understanding how to use the drop downs, or what they mean to pull the report I need.
Great for communicating with supporters and donor management. Good customer service and helpful articles/videos if you run into problems or have questions.
The lack of an event tracking feature. It is also frustrating that all mass communications are embedded as interactions.
It was easy to learn after having used a variety of other databases (Salesforce, Raiser's Edge, Donor Perfect, Apricot). I am happy with the flexibility in reporting.
The automated surveys could be revised. I wish you could edit them because the lapsed one has offended some donors so we have stopped using it.
Ease of use; cost effective; robust online resources for help and training; NEON contacts were easy to deal with and very supportive.
Likewise, the inability to choose an existing email to send to an individual constituent from their account page is a frustration.
We love NEON so much, and we are so thankful to have such a wonderful and reliable place to manage all of our information.
Neon pay is truly horrible, if you have another option take it.
We have only used the free version so we are hoping this is as great as we are expecting.
There are a lot of bugs in Neon. One of the most frustrating is that sometimes my searches do not return an account until I type out the whole account name.
They know what they're good at and integrate other systems for things that have better, more specialized products like, Eventbrite, Quickbooks and Mailchimp, and consolidates the data.
Now we are stuck, spending thousands on a data transfer. If you are considering Neon, don't.
Jennry R.: Hi, my name is Jenny. I'm director of Donor Relations. I would give Bloomerang a five out of five, and for more reviews like this, click below. Before we adopted Bloomerang, we were using a software that did not show a timeline. It was very difficult in donor relations to not be able to see what our giving history and interactions were with a donor year over year. It was not user-friendly for creating reports. It was just hard to pull information about individuals. We decided to go with Bloomerang because it does show a very clear timeline very easily. It's a very user-friendly system. People don't need a lot of training in order to know how to use it and it is much easier to do reports and much easier to see the relationships that exists among our constituents. We adopted Bloomerang seven years ago. It's honestly a little bit hard to remember what it was like to get started. I do remember that we adopted it right after we were completing an auction. Bloomerang really made it pretty easy for us. I don't remember that it was a particularly difficult process to be onboarded with Bloomerang. Then we were just good to go as soon as the new fiscal year started. We shifted over entirely to Bloomerang. Anybody who's thinking about Bloomerang, I would encourage you to call some of the Bloomerang references and just really talk to people about the experiences that they've had. I would also encourage you, if you're going to purchase Bloomerang, to go ahead and pay for the phone support. The technical support at Bloomerang is absolutely what I love the most about Bloomerang. They are nice, they are helpful, and they will stay with me as long as I need them to help me figure out whatever situation I have that I need their help with. This could be in creating reports or cleaning up individuals, how to send a particular kind of communication. They are super, super helpful. So for that, that is why I give Bloomerang a five out of five, just being able to call and speak to somebody who can help me solve my problems.
Michael: I'm Michael. I'm the Executive director of SoCal Adaptive Sports. And I give our CRM a 5. I was using spreadsheets and pieces of paper and that did not work at all, very inefficient. So in 2018, '19, I worked for an organization in North Carolina and we were using Neon, and I really liked it. Pretty easy to use, really good tech customer service. And so when we started looking for a CRM, we investigated some other ones, but I really like Neon and it is performing for us really well. Yeah. We really had some really good technical assistance, customer service, so it's been pretty easy to get it up and running and we've trained a couple of other staff in how to use it. But I think the thing that's made it really easy, again, has been our, I guess our account executive, a guy named Carlos, who's very patient and has helped us to answer all of our questions. Neon CRM, again, it's pretty simple to use. It's not that expensive. So I think in looking at Neon and using Neon as a nonprofit organization, it's doing everything that we need. So we needed to do a BET registration, we needed to build a database, we needed to do fundraising, and keep track more easily. We needed to connect our accounting system to Neon, so it's really been able to do everything that we ask. The thing that Neon has also are a lot of instructional videos. I'm going to start attending some weekly classes for different issues, and so that's really helpful. But again, I think the thing that you want to look at is what is the customer service like, when you have a question, how long do you have to wait? And for Neon questions are answered really quickly and they also have a really good database, questions, and answers. And at least for us, that's been really important because we're a smaller organization, so we've been treated really well. Excellent customer service.
