FlexSim was designed to make simulation modeling and analysis easier and more powerful for engineers and decision makers in manufacturing, warehousing, supply chain, logistics, and healthcare.

It has good basic objects and toolbox functionalities and great 3D capability. Lists where you put all sort of information and query it with SQL type command is very helpful in logic implementation.
Sometimes it is really hard to find your error or mistake in a larger model. Also the results in the dashboards are not always entirely logical to me.
I liked its friendly use, it's great everything we can do with it, its high functionality depends entirely on everything we have in our imagination.
The lack of comments and tutorial on the handling of the process flow and high level programming (difficult to know all the objects and their method.
The tech support is great. Our reps are super helpful I talk to them very regularly and they clarify a lot of questions that make users learn a lot.
The lack of diffusion of the software in the universities, as well as the organization of congresses or international events in Mexico.
Overall, the software was very interesting, fun, and functional. It could transmit the operational messages and cost, and time savings effectively.
Having the time units preset for the entire model without being able to customize it for each block. Also there are no pre-set reports and they have to be built which may take a long time to develop.
The ability to perform CFD analysis is amazing and it is very similar to the Ansys Fluent.
I noticed a restriction on exporting files to only discovery file format.
I like the powerful and capabilities that are built into the software.
Symmetry planes, contact types, convergence reports (in my case) 'on the fly analysis' were completely missing.
I like the combination of a 3d direct modeller with the super easy simulation feedback. Design iterations are made instantly.
Installaing on a remote server without GPU is slightly painful.
Ansys discovery is a great tool for easy and quick simulation.
Too many features can be difficult to navigate.
Ganapathy: Hello, my name is Ganapathy. I work as a Quality Manager, and I give FlexSim a five out of five rating. For more reviews like this, please click below. I trialed an add-on to Microsoft Visio, called Process Simulator, before I finally came upon FlexSim and settled on it. The one thing that I didn't quite like in the Process Simulator, which is an add-on to Microsoft Visio, is its inability to tackle 3D simulations, especially in complex simulations, which FlexSim handles beautifully. The number one reason that I eventually settled on FlexSim, other than the fact that it handles 3D simulations in complex environments very well, is the fact that it's completely free of charge, as far as its trial version is concerned, and it's not time limited. In fact, in my older desktop PC, I still have the free version that I first learned FlexSim on. And the second reason, I have to admit, is the price point for the single user license on FlexSim. It is more advantageous to use FlexSim than the Microsoft Visio add-on, Process Simulator, simply from a cost effectiveness perspective. Onboarding and integrating FlexSim into our business takes very little time to train a first-time user on it. There are a plethora of YouTube videos that train you how to use FlexSim effectively, even in simple environments for starters, and then on to moderate and complex environments. In fact, I actually shared some of the YouTube videos that I had seen, as a first-time user, with some of my colleagues who now use FlexSim for their own complex 3D simulations. I would strongly encourage my colleagues I have in the industry, and regardless of which industry you come from, to start using FlexSim as soon as you can, unless you've already come upon it. It is especially advantageous to use for 3D simulations. And there's only so much one can do, even in complex 2D simulations. You really can't gauge the physical difficulties in the real world sometimes, if you only simulate in 2D. And after investing as much time as you would in creating simulations, it's best to do it in 3D for the first time and then share that with your colleagues who actually work out there in the real world in the field to make sure that it fits their needs and concerns.
