We use MadCap Flare to create our help for our enterprise software solution. The generated documentation - as PDF as well as interactive website - is easy to use and looks nice.
The bugs I encountered were random and the errors messages provided no useful information. So many times I had to publish content and was afraid what was going to break next.
If you are looking for an extremely robust content management solution, MadCap Flare is a great option to explore.
It was noted as a known bug, but I have yet to receive follow up, which is disappointing (it has been weeks).
Easy to go from the CMS to a live website. Lots of great features like text analysis and easy to learn editing customization.
If you don’t use the help files available, you may be a little lost.
After thing are setup/configured it is a strong tool and great time saver.
For today's technical communicator, it's a form of vocational suicide to imprison reusable information inside monolithic chapter files.
Customer Support is excellent. Excited to continue to explore all of the great features.
We have nothing but complaints from customers when they try to pay for one of our books. They are unable to down load the booklet and can extreme difficulty when using pay pal.
It really is a very good website and it helps me a lot with my college projects. I would certainly recommend Flip HTML5 to a friend or colleague.
The desktop version is awful so i suggest using online version all the way. The download process or initial setup was hard to understand.
When I presented the final product to my client she was very impressed and happy with the results. There were a few changes and I needed to contact support to ask for a bit of help and advice.
There is a lack of frequent updates to the available templates offered.
I am very satisfied with the program, because it inspired me at first sight. I appreciate the choice of language and the nice HELP support.
But yeah, getting started is very weird and unclear process.
James K.: Hi, my name is James. I have a company of 1 to 10 people working with me. For HTML5 I'd have to give them a five star in everything that I've been able to use with their software. Well, I use HTML5 FlipBook every day to adjust our Yellow Deli menu for our restaurant. I've made several updates with ease and the final product and outcome is fabulous. Customers love it, and I continue to enjoy working with HTML5 FlipBook. HTML5 FlipBook, the thing that I find that is most of ease to work with is workflow. You're able to integrate photos, video, you can put your links in, and then when you want to even update new menu prices that you've changed and edited in PDF, you can keep your layout that you've actually took the time and detail to make and not have to redo that all over and just go re-upload PDF. And it keeps everything intact, and it's done within a minute and you're good to go. The only thing I can see that HTML5 FlipBook can improve on is actually being able to upload multiple PDFs at the same time that you can even edit your PDFs straight on the site itself rather than editing the PDF and then uploading the PDF, but actually edit PDF itself, so it would have an LCR-reader to be able to [inaudible 00:02:05] the existing text you've already put up. I think that would be a good improvement.
