Simul8 is the most intuitive and fastest simulation engine on the market. Before Simul8, simulation software was costly, resource-hungry and time-intensive, Simul8 makes simulation accessible to all.
Engineers scientists product developers production specialists students studying physics and processes.
Fantastic support, great knowledge, ability to create and nice communication style in getting things done right.
Regular changes in pricing models and new charges for new bolt ons is a little frustrating (hard to budegt).
I have tested other simulation software and can confirm that SIMUL8 is powerful, well designed and robust. Its cost (license and maintenance) is very competitive compared to other simulation software.
Weak animation compared to other simulation softwares.
The possibility to interact with VBA and Python makes it a good candidate to develop a digital twin. Simplicity of use also in complex environments and great customer support Team.
Menu's are cut off and in some cases, are completely inaccessable.
Simul8 offers an easy way to see where bottlenecks in a system are and the ability to test out different scenarios, in order to choose the most effective solution.
Hard to record videos of a simulation run. I used a third-party program.).
COMSOL application is an excellent FEM software solution. I would highly recommend it to students and any one who prefers an excellent FEM software.
This can be frustrating for users who are looking to optimize their simulations. Another limitation I have encountered is that some modules have limitations that are not well described in the manual.
Highly capable multiphysics software with great ease of use and customizable for a wide range of applications and real-world scenarios. Very easy and simple coupling between physics modules.
While the software does support parallel computing, it can be difficult to configure, and it can be hard to tell whether the software is actually running in parallel in a cluster setup.
They have been a pioneering software in the multiphysics area and conduct very good training programs to get students and users off to a good start.
Troubleshooting a numerical model in COMSOL is a painful process.
Additionally, they have the best and easily accessible support staff able to answer any relevant questions. GUI and post-processing visualizations are remarkable.
The simple interface might lead users to simplify their simulations setups and problems as well.
Zach: Hi, my name is Zach. I am a technical program manager. I work for a very large company and I give Simul8 a five out of five. I discovered Simul8 through my manager. He directed me to utilize the software to maximize our throughput and build a schedule for our daily output. After being directed to dive in, I reached out to Simul8 team, and from there the relationship started to flourish. The reasons why I love Simul8 is it's such a crazy technical program, but it is such user-friendly. I have zero coding experience. I joke around saying I'm a caveman when it comes to coding, but with the visual learning and logic that Simul8 has built in and how user-friendly it is, I can go in and I immediately know what I'm doing. I immediately know how to understand and read the code. The user-friendly interface, everything about it is just so user-friendly that it is very refreshing for on the surface level, looking so hard and complex, but never judge a book by its cover. Open it, and very easy to use right out of the packaging. Getting Simul8 set it up in the beginning was one of the easiest programs I've ever had to get started. I did the research online. I went through their academy online and if I had any questions, I'd reach out to the team. They would reply back fast. Even though they're based in Europe and I'm on the west coast of the United States, time difference did not matter. They would answer the questions. As of right now, I could reach out to them and I will get an answer back ASAP. Truly the friendliest company I've interacted with and just outright, everything is just... It blows my mind. It honestly leaves me speechless on how amazing, easy and friendly Simul8 and the company is, the program and the company. If I had to give advice to anybody looking out to see if Simul8 is the right program for them, I'd reach out to the customer service team and they will get back to you fast. They're based out of Europe, but it does not matter where you're in the world. You could be even in space, they'll get back to you instantly. If they don't know the answer, they will tell you, "Hey, I may not know it right this moment, but I will get back to you," and they will absolutely get back to you. Some of the friendliest, kindest, courteous people I've ever met, and I am very happy to be developing a relationship with them and their company.
Ramin: My name is Ramin. I'm a Process Engineer working in a petroleum refinery company, and I rate COMSOL four out of five. For more reviews like this, click the link below. I used MATLAB and ANSYS before COMSOL and I left them because they were not completely user-friendly. Well, the main reason is it's very user-friendly and it can handle different meshes for different purposes, and it has a huge database. As I mentioned before, because of its huge and comprehensive database, it was really easy to switch to it and use it in my profession. Of course, it has different materials and I used it for the heat transfer and electrical currents in [inaudible 00:01:04] type panels, and it really helps us to navigate through the computing the temperature profiles in that. COMSOL has a really helpful forum in which you can ask your questions and there are many kind people who try to be helpful and sort out any kinds of problems you have with the app. So I highly recommend COMSOL and its forum because it really can be helpful to you.
