Knowledge management application that keeps work moving forward by providing quick access to team sites, organization portals and resources and the team members for all types of companies.
Box provides workplace solutions for every industry and business size, from SMBs to global enterprises.
SharePoint has enabled us to have a secure, trusted environment to store and share our files. The level of security measures you can put in place is great.
I have personally struggled searching for several of my own files after getting lost with the search results without any filters for people, file names etc.
This product is great for storing and sharing documents for the entire team. The documents are accessible anywhere which is nice.
My only complaint in using SharePoint is the frequency and speed of syncing, or rather lack there of. Often find syncing to be slow causing delays in remote project collaboration.
Easy to use user friendly interface with a good storage space structure. This is definitely one of the most secure and cost effective ways to work remotely and to ensure proper content management.
I dislike the administration part due to it's complexity. In large companies with lots of rules it is more difficult to organize the content in a proper manner.
I like SharePoint for the fact that it is a tool that seamlessly integrates and manages shared content, it is a secure place to store and organize information. I have access from any device.
I also really dislike that when I want to share a "forced copy" of a document to a client, so the client can just make his/her own copy, I am unable to do so.
Users are able to simultaneously edit a document at the same time and also it's accessible from any location. Customer support has been amazing and their pricing is very fair.
The Search functionality is so bad (doesn't work the way you think it should and rarely generates the results you're after) as to be almost useless.
I love that you can basically store an unlimited amount of data and share it with anyone who has the link. It makes sharing documents very easy and accessible from any internet accessible device.
At the current price point (charged per user), it's a bit on the more expensive side. The functionalities on the admin console is a bit hard to navigate.
But what makes Box the best, are all the features that they layer on top of that. Collaboration, sync, edit, Office integration, great mobile apps, policies, preview, workflows, automations, and more.
The worst thing about the Box that I have found is that when you first open it, all the files that are on it takes a little bit of time to load.
As positive points I can say that Box is a complete cloud backup software with high reliability and security. It has an excellent friendly graphical interface for organizing files in the cloud.
If you don't know what "folder" a document is in - or even its exact document name, the search tool can be very difficult, and almost useless.
Nikhil: Hi, my name is Nikhil. I work with the biggest pharmaceutical manufacturing company in Paris, and I use SharePoint on a daily basis. I would rate five. So, I have worked on Google products in the past, but SharePoint has a lot of advantages in terms of you can create your own site. So in my company, we have different departments and each department has its own site and all of the tools which they use on a daily basis, all of them are on SharePoint. So it's very accessible inside the company and each one can take advantage of SharePoint differently based on its needs. And yeah, that's it. SharePoint comes with the Microsoft suite and we have Teams and all of the other, OneDrive and many other, Yammer. So it's a complete suite and SharePoint is just one part of it, and that's why we use SharePoint. It gives very good functionality in terms of intercommunication between different softwares, and it works completely great with other sets of applications. So in my case, when I got the company email address, which was with Microsoft, so once you get that, you automatically get the SharePoint access as well. So SharePoint is a great tool. I believe it has a lot of functionalities where you can create micro-blogging sites and it works completely great with all the data storage and the other functionalities that it has. So the main thing about SharePoint is you can get started with SharePoint if you have a complete Microsoft suite and it works totally great with that. But apart from that, you need to think whether SharePoint is actually useful for you. Many of the companies that I have worked with in the past did not have SharePoint, but considering if your organization is big enough, you can totally have a SharePoint and it would be really great.
Svetlana: Hi, my name is Svetlana. I'm the executive director at the Children's Guardian Fund, and I gave Box 5-star rating. I used Dropbox but it wasn't working out because we needed something a little more robust for our organization as we were growing. I ended up using/choosing Box because they were very cost-effective for a not-for-profit organization our size, and they offered a lot of the features that we were looking for. It only took a couple of hours to learn the system and onboard with Box. We were able to get all of our users login information very quickly. And once we got all the plugins on everybody's laptops, it's been very easy and streamlined ever since. If you're looking for something to streamline your data and have it accessible on different devices, I would highly recommend Box because they check all the boxes.
