Those kind of features are very interesting nice to have in a classroom to make it more smarter.
The user interface is little boring, some advance options are missing.
LanSchool is amazing it comes with some great features that make students and teachers get more interactive and live in the learning-teaching environment.
It can be difficult to set up and remembering what channel to broadcast on.
If you have a windows machine and need the ability to monitor what your students are doing this is the best.
LanSchool is still not compatible with Windows 8. Our district is making the move, since Windows 8 has been out so long, but then we will have no monitoring.
I love the ability to control the computer screens of those in my class and direct their learning and attention to what we are learning about.
For the block websites option, it only works some of the times. Also, the software looks dated from the 90s.
Overall, it is a good place to connect with fellow students and to get a good idea of events going on around campus. It was nice to have reminders for when events were starting.
Frustrating because of the missed potential for both parties.
I like that I can reach out to other students on things happening around campus and help people when they may need help.
Abuzz has a horribly confusing user interface and user experience. Everything is very hard to find and do.
We are have found a major increase in student engagement for our events, job postings, career opportunities, etc. I love that we can also reach our students, in real time.
Chat features were annoying because they were given to college kids who want to annoy everyone else on the app.
Overall for my first year in higher education, I loved having an app I could go to view daily activities, group chats, and having it all there at your fingertips and not on seperate apps is great.
The excessive notifications it was the most annoying part of the app.
Karee: Hi, my name is Karee. I'm a STEM teacher. And I give LanSchool a four out of five rating. For more reviews like this, click below. At my school, we used LanSchool to be able to run programs for our student computers and prepare before they arrived at school. So we were able to open up applications that we knew that they would be needing to use. And then, also, if we wanted students to stop working, it was a great classroom management tool. We could blank their screens, we could show our screens. So it was really great for technology management and preparation. What I loved most about LanSchool is that I was able to pause student computers. So if I needed to get their attention, I could write a message and send it to them, and then it would freeze their screens, which was super nice. I also really like there's just a lot of time saving. So instead of having to have students always log in and navigate to where they have to go to the right page, I could just literally send that page to all of my students or whatever they needed to be working on. So it just was a huge time saver when you have a little bit of time for class. One of the only things I did not like about LanSchool is, obviously, students could move things on the desktop around. And so if we ever wanted to use keyboard shortcuts, or if we wanted to open things on different computers, if students moved something on the computer, it wouldn't work. So if not all desktops were the exact same were files were located in things, we'd often run into bugs.
