What I like most about this software is how user-friendly it is, the ease of use, it's visually appealing, and easily accessible.
Ongoing problems, month after month, in many areas. Then the response time to get problems resolved is unacceptable and you are stuck in their hands until it works in their schedule.
Report can be customized, but not always as much as we would like. Overall, this is an excellent product for the value and I would recommend it to anyone starting out.
I lost data at least a couple of times trying to look up accounts while entering a Receipt because I wasn't warned that navigating away from the receipt would delete my entry.
I work for a smaller nonprofit and there are great discounts with this software. The platform is easy to navigate through and good customization.
Very Difficult and Complicated, With Poor Tech Support.
Aplos has many good Introductory materials, and does a lot to help you get set up. There is also good customer support, and helpful webinars for when questions do arise.
The lack of social media management and it does not integrate well with some of our fundraising softwarew.
Compared to some of the bigger names out there in the accounting world, Patriot does it all at an amazing price point, with a super easy interface, and excellent customer support.
Then I found out the fees charged by my bank and decided against using that feature.
I love the name, and love that it can produce my payroll easily. Every interaction with one of your employees has been successful and satisfactory.
If you have accrued liabilities, They use "modified cash basis" which it also odd vs. Cash Basis. No Statement available to send out to customers.
It's ease of use has been amazing. It does everything that a small business owner like myself would need.
Having to run payroll 5 days before is frustrating.

We use Aplos on a day-to-day basis for the financial accounting of the church, but also for membership database and for donations tracking. What I like most about Aplos is that it's easy to use. We were in a situation where, when I arrived at the church, they were still on a paper ledger, had never used a computer at all, had a lot of fear of using a computer. So, when we made that transition, there was some fear, but once they got into it, they found it was easy to use. The only thing I dislike about Aplos is that there's not a hard file backup on our local computers, that it's all cloud-based, which these days is normal, but I'm a little old school. I kind of like to have a hard copy, at least on a drive somewhere of the data.

The software I was using was QuickBooks online payroll. I switched over to Patriot due to the fact that it was better cost effective for my clients to use Patriot. Patriot is an easier platform to utilize for not just myself as a business owner accountant, but for clients that are new to establishing and wanting to submit payrolls on a quarterly basis, or on a monthly basis. Patriot was very simple. It gives you step-by-step. As a person who is in the profession, or someone who's new to it, gives you a step-by-step. It doesn't let you move forward unless you have provided all the data needed for Patriot to be able to do its proper job in reporting payroll for clients. The advice that I would give to individuals that are new to Patriot is utilize its resources. It is very cheap on a monthly basis. It gives a lot of features in which if you can contact even a salesperson or a client's representative for Patriot, they will show you exactly all the features that it actually has that you can utilize to benefit all the resources it has.
