Nonprofits and faith-based organizations that need a powerful software suite to handle true fund accounting, financial reporting, donor and member management, fundraising, and much more!
Carta manages equity for 40,000+ customers, helping companies manage their cap tables, valuations, portfolio investments, and equity plans.
What I like most about this software is how user-friendly it is, the ease of use, it's visually appealing, and easily accessible.
Ongoing problems, month after month, in many areas. Then the response time to get problems resolved is unacceptable and you are stuck in their hands until it works in their schedule.
Report can be customized, but not always as much as we would like. Overall, this is an excellent product for the value and I would recommend it to anyone starting out.
I lost data at least a couple of times trying to look up accounts while entering a Receipt because I wasn't warned that navigating away from the receipt would delete my entry.
I work for a smaller nonprofit and there are great discounts with this software. The platform is easy to navigate through and good customization.
Very Difficult and Complicated, With Poor Tech Support.
Aplos has many good Introductory materials, and does a lot to help you get set up. There is also good customer support, and helpful webinars for when questions do arise.
The lack of social media management and it does not integrate well with some of our fundraising softwarew.
It's nice to track my overall equity and individual grants. The best feature is the ability to simply forecast overall share allotments across varying vesting schedules.
Carta is awful, bottom line. We cancelled our account on November 6th, 2022 but they went ahead and charged us nearly $5k on December 18th.
Very seamless and straightforward. Positive experience for end users, and helps feel like the equity system is more legitimate within our company.
The interface and experience are terrible. It is clunky and not intuitive.
Love how Carta automatically updates me as to when I have more vested options and shows a progress bar as to how far I still have to go for all of my stock options to vest.
I believe that Affirm no longer works with Carta as a result. Every employee’s sell order was accidentally canceled on the day of the equity release.
I also really like the interactive vesting schedule/option exercise calculator. They are both quite helpful in visualizing stock benefits.
Sometime difficult to understand the workflow required to accomplish a task. There are multiple ways to do the same thing, which can leave the user feeling a bit lost at times.
Don M.: Hi, my name is Don. I'm the pastor in a small-town church. My rating for Aplos would be a four. For more reviews like this, click below. We use Aplos on a day-to-day basis for the financial accounting of the church, but also for membership database and for donations tracking. What I like most about Aplos is that it's easy to use. We were in a situation where, when I arrived at the church, they were still on a paper ledger, had never used a computer at all, had a lot of fear of using a computer. So, when we made that transition, there was some fear, but once they got into it, they found it was easy to use. The only thing I dislike about Aplos is that there's not a hard file backup on our local computers, that it's all cloud-based, which these days is normal, but I'm a little old school. I kind of like to have a hard copy, at least on a drive somewhere of the data.
Sho L.: My name is Sho, I am corporate counsel and I give my Carta rating a four out of five and for more reviews like this, please see below. So currently, I use Carta to help administer equity awards on behalf of the company for our employees. What I like best about Carta, it's definitely a very streamlined process for when I want to administer equity awards for the company's employees. So this includes stock options, R issues and shares of stock. I will also say that they're really good at assisting you if you have any issues. So they have a list of articles for when you need to troubleshoot and those are helpful for the most part but when they're not as helpful, you can always reach out to Carta, their Help Support Center and somebody will either get ahold of you via email or you can talk to them live. And all the representatives that I've worked with have been very helpful if I have any issues or problems that I need to take care of in the Carta platform. What I like least about Carta, it's a very specific issue, is that when we request a repricing of some of the stock options, they actually end up getting canceled and showing up as canceled instead of just amending. And so whenever that happens, we often get a lot of questions from employees saying and wondering, "Oh, why is my stock options canceled?" And so I think that's just a functionality with Carta that I don't know if they're able to change.
