XLSTAT has a range of depth of functionality even in its Basic version which is outstanding and the fact that it sits happily on top of EXCEL makes it a winner as far as I am concerned.
When downloading it or updating to a newer version, it sometimes will not directly work, it sometimes has errors and even if uninstalled and installed again, my have the same error.
Good experience with the free trial so I bought a license. Customer service was great when I reached out to them with questions.
I have not experienced any things about this software that were negative.
Of the available options XLSTAT looked to me to be the best marriage of functionality, robust calculations and ease of use.
But later it started happening when at least one other xls file is opened (which is kinda ridiculous).
XLSTAT helps me to get the most out of my client's data with peace of mind that the analyses are done properly and that the conclusions are reliable.
Sometimes the difficult in reinstall the old versions in other computers.
With its all the functionality (and with appropriate training) it was the perfect tool for the task.
When you get the error, its very hard for me to find the mistakes I have done.
Another very good point about MATLAB is its ability to manipulate data and generate interactive visualizations, which have helped me to communicate results effectively.
If I hadn't had the training I received during my undergrad I would have been completely lost.
It's a powerful language with an intuitive interface, but it is best for matrix operations, decomposition, optimization tools, linear algebra, and the like.
The code is a bit finicky sometimes, and for new users it can be difficult to understand why you are getting error messages on your code.
The were a robust community file exchange that was amazing for finding code for specific tasks. Overall it was very easy to debug and learn thanks to the amount of great resources for it.
The only bad thing I find is that the it requires lots of space in our computer system and makes it slow, freeze up system if RAM is less than 4GB.
Henri: My name is Henri and I work as a analytics market manager for an IT services company specializing in experience management studies. I give a four out of five to XLSTAT. So before using XLSTAT, we were very much involved with Excel itself, using it to the extreme, and we selected XLSTAT because we needed additional advanced statistical functions to perform the task on our data from experience management studies. We use XLSTAT because it was very compatible with Excel and all of our data was in Excel. We also found it very easy to use and the support was very appreciated with good tutorials and a wealth of videos and PDF documents covering the various use cases. The first project we started on XLSTAT was a bit of a pain because we're not trained enough on the [inaudible 00:01:21], on the configuration of the functions. But after a while, we mastered the various functionalities and the second project went very smoothly. What we learned from using XLSTAT is that you really needed to know a lot about your data and the structure of your data. Once you've covered that piece, you had to select the right modeling functions or statistical functions and use them appropriately to develop the solution for your data analysis project.
Joshua: My name is Joshua, and I work with [inaudible 00:00:03]. I'm rating Matlab five out of five. I started using Matlab where we needed to create some statistical models. So, I would recommend you to use Matlab if you ever have any statistical model you want to do, and it's pretty much easier to deploy and to use. My best part of Matlab, its deployment on virtualization. So, you could have your Matlab server deploy in Agile, deploy in AWS, or any other cloud service, and you can have your VDIs, which means you can have your Matlab being replicated on all your virtualizations with one single license, which makes it a lot of sense. Yeah. One of the bottlenecks around Matlab is when you try to renew your license, it could take you forever, because every installation for every update is always different. So, you might need to contact Matlab customer care to help you, guide you in renewing your license and uploading and installing the new license, because it's obviously so different. That is the only problem, the only issue I have with Matlab.
