While the platform’s design and navigation could definitely be improved, it has been reliable for handling payroll and employee management consistently. Once you get used to the workflow, it becomes easier to manage day-to-day tasks and keeps everything centralized in one place. Pros What I like about Paychex Flex is that it combines payroll, HR, and employee management into one system, so you don’t have to keep jumping between different platforms. Once you get familiar with it, it handles the core payroll functions reliably and keeps things fairly organized on the backend. Cons The biggest issue for me is the UX and overall design of the platform. A lot of things feel unnecessarily complicated or buried under too many menus, and simple tasks can take longer than they should. The interface also feels outdated at times, which makes the overall experience more frustrating than it needs to be. Processing payroll, giving out time cards and the speed of everything can be time consuming but this app makes my life easier. Pros Paychex Flex is a great way for staff to be able to see their hours within a certain pay period and for us as manager to communicate effectively with them. It's a quick and efficient tool we use every week! Cons Sometimes the app needs an update every now and then but otherwise it's a great tool and I highly recommend getting it. The system is easy to refer back to and has made it simple to track and manage employee time off and PTO. Pros I am really enjoying the time tracking feature. I have used other systems before and this is by far one of the easiest to navigate as an admin. Pros It is pretty straight forward and easy to navigate for payroll processes. Editing pay deductions like 401K were a little more challenging and I had to call support a few time to get the correct amount deducted form and employees pay each cycle. Cons There are no complaints with how Paychex is structured it is well designed for that I use it for and had been an effective way of tracking my time.
