Better Reports is targeted at small and medium businesses that need to analyze the data locked in their apps (Shopify, Stripe, QuickBooks Online, etc...).
The company itself is easy to work with and is staffed with very knowledgeable people who are eager to help you succeed.
We experienced this problem and thought that it was just an isolated incident that we were experiencing, but when we looked it up on the internet, we saw it’s a common issue.
Overall experience with Birst is good as a developer. Great visualization capabilities and faster analytics with huge amount of data.
Their claim that you just point the tool to your data source and it intuitively builds the data model for you is exaggerated.
The frontend is pretty good and you can do a lot of visualizations. You can choose between simple charts from "visualizer" or build pixel perfect reports from "designer.
Another issue is the User Interface. Sometimes, it's too confusing.
And you cannot overstate the importance of their terrific customer support - especially the Birst Community.
The integration with M3 Analytics seems to have hick-ups, after updates we often need to reset something or copy data or re-adjust filters, that is annoying.
It was fantastic working with their customized reports team. They were very thorough and pleasant to work with.
It is fairly limited in functionality; so expect to do some data manipulation.
The Better Reports supports team is very responsive and helpful. They have successfully responded to nearly every single query from my team, usually within just a few hours.
The only negative I can think of is that if you're not already familiar with PivotTables, Tableau, and other similar tools, it might not be as intuitive to use.
But I really want to highlight how fantastic the team have been with each and every email I have sent and the many questions I have asked. Every response is speedy and helpful.
Missing features, but they were added later so its also a pro.
The customer service is amazing for customizing my reports - i need super custom reports and they always help so fast! especially [sensitive content hidden] keeps helping alot.
As I use the platform, I'll start creating more reports.
