Bluebeam serves architecture, engineering, construction, and owner (AECO) professionals across industry segments from individual users to large-scale enterprises.
It's a good product, very simple for take measures on worksite, perfect for begin layout... or transfer to Cad application... there is a lot advantage directly inside it.
The issue that bothered me the most is its mandatory bidding features. We have no need for them.
The customer support team is fantastic, and was eager to know about my experience with the tool and what they could do to improve.
Lack of features for more complicated drawings.
We have been using ArcSite for years now, and I have the utmost respect for the company, they truly want to help the customer/user be successful.
No desktop version, limited export options, inconsistent and limited dimensioning, and not easy to get area measurements. Higher levels are a bit expensive.
ArcSite has given us the ability to create beautiful, quality, custom bids for the work we do on our customers home that is unparalleled.
There are times when very detailed drawings can be a pain. Sometimes it is difficult to draw or drag and place lines that are close together.
One particularly great feature, is the ability to calibrate your own scale and measure quantities to scale. It is a great tool for producing markups and redlines on PDFs to share with the team.
Technical errors sometimes arise. People usually forget that they are offline, needs a reminder to be online maybe.
I like how versatile it is. I would say 90% of the office uses Bluebeam in some way. Some more than others, but it always seems like it can do what you want to accomplish.
The Dimensioning Tool in the latest version is awful and makes BB a pain to use. The program has taken a huge step back.
This is excellent software that gives you enormous bang for your buck. The Extreame version is by far the best and worth every penny.
Inability to maintain current versions without constant repurchasing of licenses. No versions for IOS Mac Books.
Easy way to track progress of project or any PDF plan work. I like how you can see who did what when - great documentation.
Printing from it seams to be a problem for our field manager sometimes.
Jonathan: My name is Jonathan. I'm a curtain wall designer. I give Bluebeam Revu four out of five. Click below for more reviews. Before we were using Bluebeam Revu, I was using Adobe Acrobat. I primarily use construction drawings in my job, and Adobe Acrobat is very clunky for working with large format construction drawings. And so, when we switched to Bluebeam Revu, it was just so much easier to navigate large sets of drawings and large format drawings. I chose Bluebeam Revu because I had read about it on social media and drafting forums. It seemed like a lot of people were moving to that so I gave the trial version a try and I was just blown away with how easy it was to use and how much quicker I could navigate my drawings. That's when we made the decision to buy it. Bluebeam Revu, it was easy to set up. It was easy to download and to install on my PC. The only issue that we've had with it, and it's the reason I give it four out of five stars instead of five out of five stars is the licensing scheme seems a little bit old fashioned, in that you can only install it on one PC. In this day and age, when you're working from your office or you're working remotely from home, they will make you purchase an extra license to work from home. Unless you go through deauthorizing your license while you're at work and then authorizing it again while you're at home. But other than that, it's very easy to use. It's very easy to install and very easy to set up and customize. The advice I would give to anyone else who's working with construction drawings is to definitely buy it. It's the best in the field. You will not regret it. It's easy to use and it's going to make you more productive.
