Cloud-based Learning Management System (LMS) and Student Information System (SIS) that helps school districts of every size manage admissions, learning, attendance, communication, and more.
Thousands of K-12 schools and districts across 54 countries and 45 states are using Alma's groundbreaking student information system to transform their learning communities. Are you next?
Our sports teams even use it just for the communication area which is great. It has been a blessing to use during the remote pandemic learning.
When I schedule assignment in advance, if I have to change a due date on one for today. I have to go back and change each assignment in the future to postpone all of my assignments.
And Juno pods are the best. I use them regularly to help my students to practice and refine their work.
When I was using Canvas during Covid lockdown, I could go to the calendar and easily drag and drop assignments. With yours I have to do a lot more work to postpone all of my assignments.
I like the feature of emailing progress reports to parents and students. I also like the testing feature with automatic grading.
The interface is simple; but a little outdated. Where we track attendance is labeled 'Roll' which is not straight forward- it is confusing.
And Juno pods are a great tool to help the students to learn from their mistakes. Juno pods are also a great way to do quick exit passes.
The only thing I found difficult was changing a students name if spelling was incorrect. You have to go through the admin.
They are absolutely fantastic. Quick, reliable, professional, and very proficient at what they do.
The descriptions are confusing. The filtering is confusing or doesn't work right.
I loved that our district made a deal to get a group purchase for ALMA so it made the price just perfect for us. ALMA looks beautiful and is an excellent tool.
You can pay extra to have them developed/added, but there is no way to do that yourself.
Teachers have more at their finger tips for flexibility with report cards and that makes all of us so happy...actually its terrific to see them so pleased.
There are a bunch of interface elements like this that make interactions awkward or repetitive, which induces frustration and boredom, which leads to errors. It feels like evaluations are 90° off.
The best thing abour Alma is its ease of use. In addition, it has one of the most professional and responsive customer support departments I have ever encountered in any product or industry.
When you have been with company for years is it hard to make a switch.
Tom J.: My name is Tom. I am the elementary principal at Kingsway Christian Schools, and we use Alma SIS, and I would rate it a 4 out of 5. Prior to using Alma, we were using Blackboard in our elementary school. For us, Blackboard was a bit clunky and it was difficult to navigate and didn't really make communication smooth when we're trying to communicate between school and our community. We chose Alma because it was user-friendly, it was really easy for our teachers to learn how to use it, how to communicate with families, everything's been organized really well, and their customer service has been very helpful. We decided to bring Alma in a whole year early so we could get used to the functionality, make sure we were really confident before we rolled it out across our campus. That was really seamless. We always had good communications with implementation specialists, and the rollout went really well. I would just recommend that you do your homework, you look at what's out there. For us as an elementary school, the ease of use and being able to communicate really seamlessly is really what we needed and it met our needs. It could be different depending on your school community as well.
