Shop Boss vs Kukui: Which is a better fit?

Frank: Hi, I'm Frank. I have been with Eagle Transmissions for about 13 years and about 40 years in the industry, so I've used lots of different software. Shop Boss is a five. It's the best I've used. I started using software when our company developed their own and it was pretty haphazardly put together. Just did not work well. Switched to Tekmetric. Tekmetric was very cumbersome for me to use. I'm not much of a computer guy. It was just hard for me to negotiate and get around. I used ProfitBoost and then went to Shop Boss. Shop Boss is by far my favorite because of primarily, the support team that they have in place. We chose Shop Boss primarily because of the support group that they have. I'm not a computer person, so there's been quite often that I've needed some assistance in negotiating and working a repair order and so on and so forth. They're a click away. I mean, I can legitimately click on my mouse about three times, and within 20 or 30 seconds I've got one of the support people chatting with me. And if they need to, they'll pick up the phone and call me. But they have gotten me through every problem or concern or issue that I've ever had, and most of them are because I am just not a computer person, and they take good care of me. I tried that with Tekmetric and I just did not have the support. I certainly didn't have the same kind of support with ProfitBoost, and with the software that our company tried to develop, there was no support group. So they have been extremely helpful. Plus it had a financial advantage. It was a lower monthly price than several of them that I did look at. We were using ProfitBoost just before we moved to Shop Boss. I had no problem at all making the transition to Shop Boss. I had actually tried Tekmetric at another store and used it for about three weeks, and never got comfortable or familiar with it. When Shop Boss came in, it was one or two clicks to the support group, to ask a couple of basic questions and we were off and running. It's just very easy for me to negotiate. The people in the support group have actually even gone to the trouble of creating a couple of specific reports that are just for my company, just for my shop, that we needed. They have just always been there. It's just as smooth and seamless as you could imagine, for me. If someone came to me and asked me which software to pick or what I thought about Shop Boss, they'd probably get tired of hearing me extol the virtues. It's just been really good for me. I'm not a computer guy, like I said. It's easy to work. It gives me a myriad of different reports. It gives you all of the statistics you could possibly hope for to effectively and profitably manage a shop. It does my productions. I do my production scheduling for it. I keep up with my cores that have to be returned. I can keep up with warranty claims and payments. It does everything that I can imagine any shop owner would need.
