M-Files serves a variety of industries and business needs for mid-market to Enterprise global B2B companies.
MODX works exceptionally well for organizations that are looking for something beyond a cookie cutter approach, be it integrating third-party applications, or a completely custom design.
My overall experience with M-Files is outstanding and I like more with their easy integration with other systems and flexibility in deployment.
Data Management System with Really Bad User Interface.
This application helps in all these functions and much more by its high quality features that are superb easy to handle as well.
It's not a user friendly program, there is no drag and drop option (currently) and it almost impossible to work with this software in a way that we work with windows.
Easy user intuitive interface that allows for dynamic and complex workflow processes. The ease of the install and how fast we were up and using it was amazing.
Typical for some IT-solutions: "almost anything can be done with M-Files. Takes away focus of what problem exactly is solved with M-files.
It will be the best money you spend and will save you the cost is saved searching in weeks.
Drop your files into the M-files and edit/download from where you are.
I have been using this CMS for 3 years now. Most of all I like that you can customize it for yourself with the help of a huge number of modules, most of which are free.
This can be an obstacle if you have been using another CMS for a long time.
I like MODX that the platform has excellent SEO, and the template placed on the site under her leadership for a small amount of time the members of my team can really transform beyond recognition.
My only gripe is its lack of adoption among designers and developers alike.
It just suited us perfectly. To place information conveniently, the system was originally commercially grounded and has a friendly interface.
As of this writing, MODX 3 has not been released, but it will address almost anything I could put here. The biggest problem for a lot of people is being stuck on an older version of ExtJS.
Secure, trustworthy, ideal for any web developer who wants to innovate. It is easy to customize, modify for your personal needs, and manage on any good, reliable hosting.

Joe M.: My name's Joe. I'm a principal engineer. I'd give M-Files a 5 out of 5. And for more reviews like this, click down below. Before M-Files we used a PDM system. With switching to M-files, we considered some other software. We looked at using SOLIDWORKS and their PDM system as well as just using Windows. We selected M-Files because we really liked the way you could input metadata and use that to organize all of your files and search in a very powerful way for very detailed things within a document. We came from a more complicated system before using M-Files, so switching over to it was really nice and a blessing. It made it really easy to transition to M-Files. If you're thinking about getting into M-Files, I would really take a look at all the powerful tools that come along with inputting the metadata for each document into M-Files. It really opens up a lot of capability, especially when trying to find a very old document that you don't remember a whole lot about.
Jakub H.: Hi, I'm Jakub. I'm a designer and I would rate MODX five from five. And for more review, click below. Before I started to use MODX, I was basically coding sites by myself, or basically the backend of the websites, and it turned out to be really difficult to figure out all the URLs, and the managing of the resources and documents and images. I was looking for something else, something which would help me. There was a lot of stuff on the market like, Joomla! and WordPress, and other things, Drupal at that time. But nothing seems to fit because I wanted creative freedom. Basically, I wanted to connect my site, which I designed the way I wanted it to some management system, and not to bend some pre-made template to my design. MODX somehow materialized and filled all the things, or all the features and all the requirements I needed at that time, so I started using MODX. Why I chose MODX? Basically, the first thing was the easy way to configure friendly URLs on the server and to assign them to the pages. It worked basically out of the box. It was super simple to set up. The other things were the document life cycle basically, because publishing and unpublishing, or programming it by yourself is a tedious task. And the third thing I would point out is basically the super-advanced caching, basically from MODX, because it caches the rendered pages and loads them afterwards super quickly. Installing MODX is super simple. You basically download a zip file and if you have Apache and Myski server handy already, you just upload the files and run the setup and follow the instructions. I never had any issues. If the server was modern, doing this is really extremely simple. In the newer versions, it makes the whole thing even more convenient because there are languages you can choose from, and the whole setup is really straightforward. I wouldn't shy from trying this. I would say, yes, it is simple. It is very simple. Well, if you're considering MODX, I would first look at what do you really want to do with your site? If you need a website builder, then MODX is definitely not the tool to use. But if you want something to manage your website or manage your content inside of a website, or play with basically APIs and are profound with some PHP, then you should definitely start using MODX. Or if you want to amaze your clients with super simple interface, and very, very logical structure of the [inaudible 00:03:03], or basically the website tree or structure, then MODX is definitely the right tool. If you want advanced features such as media management and the document life cycle, like publishing and unpublishing to a specific time, then yes, MODX once again is the right tool. There is a ton of plugins, which extend the functionality of MODX. I think you can find pretty much everything or any feature you are looking forward to use in a modern website.
Prioritize real-user-identified key features according to your needs to find your best fit.
