Time Tracker vs Open Time Clock: Which is a better fit?

So before, I wasn't using an actual software system; I was doing what a lot of small businesses or accidental entrepreneurs do, which was using an Excel spreadsheet, and I knew I had to level up with something that would save me time, and would have the reports and accuracy I needed to be able to share that with my clients. So one of the main reasons that I went with Time Tracker is a lot of my clients had been using it, and they gave their own testimonials as to why it worked for them, and then I did a little bit of research, and I saw that it wasn't just a one-off, that the reviews were very unanimous, that it was easy to use, that it was affordable, and that it gave me that professionalism in tracking time, and having reports so that I could share those with my clients. So it was very easy for me to bring it into my organization and to set up Time Tracker. I am the CEO. I'm the one who kind of runs all of those items. It was easy to integrate with QuickBooks. QuickBooks is what we use to bring in the client information into Time Tracker, and the tutorials and the help support within the software itself made setting up and getting used to using it very, very easy and intuitive. So if you're considering using Time Tracker, I want you to think about two different things: number one, if you track your time for your clients, it's an absolute must-have, but even if you don't necessarily track your time for your clients, you can use it in a different way, which is how I also used it, you can track your projects and how long it takes for you to complete a project. If you do a fee project-based model, sometimes you're not quite sure how much time actually is devoted to a certain task or a certain project, and you can actually break that down within the software itself so that you can understand how much time things take, and then you can do your pricing accordingly. Instead of trying to just guess how long something will take, you can look at historical data, and then you're able to really leverage the software under how much you should be charging, and how long you should be budgeting your time to do that project.

Before we changed over to Open Time Clock, we were using the old paper system, where CSRs would send us their hours when they got here, and send them to us when we got back. And not only was that cumbersome and time consuming, but it allowed for a lot of error. And I'm sure a lot of overpay that happened. We chose to switch over to Open Time Clock, because it's super easy to use. It's very economical. And the reporting is incredible. Open Time Clock was very easy to begin with. All we had to do is enter in all of our customer reps, names and emails, and pay rate, and it does rest. We can set up PTO in there, holiday pay. That took just a little bit of learning, but not a big learning curve. Probably maybe an hour, or two hours, to get it up and running.
