Brightspace is used by learners in higher education, K12, enterprise and association sector.
Commercial, Enterprise, SLED and Federal Governments, along with industries that rely on regulatory compliance and knowledge work (Life Sciences, Healthcare, Tech, Manufacturing, Finance, etc.).
It's made school all the easier simply because of the ease that comes with the use of Brightspace. It's a great source, and I would recommend it to everyone.
However, it is frustrating to use and has more case-by-case / glitching problems that other learning management softwares I have used.
I like the ability for there to be an online classroom and I like that it records the lectures. I like how the online classroom allows for screensharing and chatting also.
The program is cumbersome and after many student and instructor complaints our university has switched over to iCollege.
Brightspace is very easy to navigate and customize. It looks very nice and many uses familiar with something like Wordpress will have a pretty easy time.
Overall, my experience with Brightspace is negative.
The user-interface of the software is amazing and it's very easy to navigate through the courses. Moreover, the software has been easy to navigate in today's era of Blended Learning.
Brightspace provides multiple places to find the same things. This is confusing, especially when some assignments are loaded in a given course module but not in the 'Assignments' tab, or vice versa.
There is a great underlying structure to Cornerstone Learning. The functionality is there and they are some very powerful features to help with automation and managing learning for your organization.
Mix of old/new functionality can be confusing: as updates are rolled out piece by piece it can feel a bit disjointed.
We really like the clean navigation and the reporting functionality. There are a number of modules that we will continue to implement, but so far we have had great success with the tool.
Some pieces within the modules do not have the same behavior across the board which can make it very frustrating at times.
We have been pleased with the ability to consolidate our learning offerings/tracking and the ability to automate our assignments and emails.
End users complain that it is too big and too hard for them to navigate.
Lots of features and options to arrange the system in your way, you can implement on your own speed and what you want, great user community, very good product documentation.
Absolutely awful, once you sign that contract no one responds to you in a timeline manner. You get a lot of "that is how the system is built, can't help you" answers.
Yash C.: Hi, my name is Yash. I'm a student and I give Brightspace a rating of four out of five. For more reviews like this, click below. I use Brightspace for my day-to-day academic activities. Whether it's browsing through a course or learning new modules, Brightspace provides me with an extensive range of services, whether it's uploading assignments to instructors through the Dropbox option in Brightspace or downloading a PowerPoint which the instructor has done with voice over. The best part about Brightspace is the user interface. The programs and courses are listed in the main menu, and it's just very easy to browse through them. Moreover, one thing that I really like about Brightspace is that instead of emailing assignments to instructors individually, we can just go into Brightspace and use the Dropbox option to upload our assignments, which makes our work easier. One thing that I think Brightspace should change is, this is something that I've encountered with my courses after the pandemic when everything moved online, so our instructors used to do voice over PowerPoints and used to upload it on Brightspace and then we used to access it and go through them. I just feel that the PowerPoint user interface is a little bit old and it needs to be updated.
Angie G.: Hi, my name's, Angie and I'm the communications specialist. I would give Cornerstone a four out of five, and for more ratings like this, click below. We use Cornerstone for compliancy training for all new hires. Another thing we use Cornerstone for is learning path progression to engage our learners throughout their career, regardless of if they've been with us for one week or five years. What I like most about Cornerstone is the integration with Grovo and Teams. This gives our team the ability to engage in the learning platform in several different ways, all using the same platform. Cornerstone has many different functionalities, but it takes a long time to learn how to use it properly and how each section will affect the other. For example, one simple change in one area can cause a larger chain reaction in another, so you need to become an expert quickly in order to use it properly.
Prioritize real-user-identified key features according to your needs to find your best fit.
