The best part about Meltwater is how easy/user-friendly it is compared to our previous product (Cision), and our account rep is FANTASTIC.
Avoid this company at all costs. They have unethical and deceptive business practices.
The team are available on hand if needed, and very helpful and supportive of training, very much solution led in all areas. It's always been a positive experience working with them.
Also time to timee they have a breach or something working wrong and you dont receive and alert by email and they are very slow to solve it. I have issues in the past with my clients because of this.
In a small team it's really important to be able to utilise time effectively and this is a great tool to achieve that and cost effective too.
The customer service and their business practices are just unethical and deceptive.
Robust social monitoring capabilities, easy to set up, really great customer support, easily customizable, and easy to export reports.
Only complaint is the sales staff (most likely by design of their business model) is on the pushy side to get you to renew you contact early and frquent attempts to upsell new products or features.
It has been a wonderful tool for not only helping better understand our current clients' audiences and industries, but also in pitching new business. We are a much savvier team because of it.
The main issue I've had with the software is that for our team it was difficult to overcome the initial barrier to get trained and really start using it.
The product is fairly intuitive and if we had any questions, our client success lead was happy to hop on a call and help work through any questions we had.
Insights provided are limited from the channel standpoint, in other words, data/insights are skewed to Twitter while results from other channels are quite low.
The customer service is fantastic and the team is eager and knowledgeable to help us set up our dashboards in ways that empower our work. It's a powerful tool that can seem overwhelming at times.
It's integration of TikTok seems really limited.
Not only are the features of Atlast easy to use, but their support team is incredible. They are responsive, knowledgable and wonderful to work with.
I don´t like when they show the post but when I enter it does not appear.
Linda R.: My name is Linda. I'm a director of digital communications in the higher education industry, and I give Meltwater three out of five stars. Before we onboarded Meltwater, we were doing a lot of manual compilation and manual monitoring. We have looked at setting up Google Alerts, but we didn't find that they were robust enough to do what we wanted. That's why we settled on Meltwater. The main reason that we chose Meltwater was because we had had a series of communications crises, specifically in the social media realm in prior years. We found that our manual monitoring was unsustainable and didn't give our stakeholders the benchmarks and information that they needed quickly enough. We really needed a new solution, and Meltwater was able to provide that for us. Meltwater wasn't overly complex to onboard, but it also wasn't one of those things where you can get started right out of the box. It required a few calls with our team. It required some coordination. Some of the coordination was on our own side, really figuring out and drilling down into the terms and the things that we wanted to monitor. I would say it's complex, but not needlessly complex. Just be prepared to spend a little time getting yourselves up and running. The main recommendations that I would provide to anybody who's considering onboarding Meltwater, remember that it costs money, it's not cheap. Anything you want that might be a little bit above what they offer right outside the box is going to cost you incrementally, so you have to be prepared to spend the budget on it. It also doesn't provide you with a level of specificity that I would've expected given the price point. For instance, we share a name with another institution in the space. There were instances where we were getting monitoring and alerts from that organization, and weren't really able to do anything to address that. It would almost appear as if we had to create a custom solution that would've cost an exorbitant amount of money to address that.
