Designers and Engineers who want to mesh their geometries with 100 hex elements and willing to use the same tool for CAD preparation and for meshing
Designed for civil engineering businesses of all sizes, it is a CAD tool that helps with digital mapping, 2D HEC RAS models, and more.
Very robust and can handle anything. This software has a nice GUI that is easy to navigate and reporting results is very clean.
That makes user have to resort to other design software such as Solidworks etc. When I get an error, I can hardly find the reason for this error.
Ansys' adaptive mesh refinement does an outstanding job of meshing the geometry automatically which is great for a first pass analysis.
Troubleshooting with ANSYS is very painful and the interface is a bit challenging in the beginning to get used to.
Esasy to use, great flexibility, many function in analysis good for desgin and enginnering task great 3d engine.
System comparability issues when suing different platforms.
And with the user friendly GUI of the Workbench, ANSYS has taken ease and reliability of analysis several notches up.
Simulations require a lot of processing power and time. Therefore it is hard to run simulations on Laptops.
Overall experience has been really good with the software and the customer support is fantastic.
When using GeoHECRAS, I generally find that the most annoying things are native to the HEC-RAS engine rather than the GeoHECRAS interface.
Ease of use and the ability to import/export data to/from Civil 3D is easy and seamless. GeoHECRAS has one of the best support staff's that I have seen.
It tends to crash fairly easily/often, especially if there is a large surface.
The ease of use, intuitive data entry, and unrivaled customer support make this a fantastic product. The bottom line is that GeoHECRAS increases our efficiency and our profits.
Sometime editing the roadway geometry does not work and I wish you could draw reaches using a surface so it could find the low point of a channel.
Excellent HEC-RAS interface, with LIDAR processing ability and great tech service.
It has served what it is intended to. Some minor difficulties can be experienced with new users but they can be addressed with the technician assistant.
Prioritize real-user-identified key features according to your needs to find your best fit.
