MediaValet has been the perfect tool for us, and if you're serious about Digital Asset Management it might be the perfect tool for you too.
Other sites we have used in the office restrict the number we could have and it was really in issue. I believe they also back up all of the information so system crashes are never an issue or worry.
He's helped solve minor issues and answered common questions/concerns in a very speedy manner. It's also reassuring to know our assets are backed up on a cloud-based system and very safe and secure.
I hate that the interface isn't very touch friendly.
Plus, MediaValet's customer service is excellent and their team was incredibly helpful and supportive during the transfer of our files into the Digital Asset Management system.
It seems they are mostly user error and they have been very patient with us as a company.
Our site is nicely organized, easy to browse and has a pleasant and professional appearance. This was a big improvement for our company and the way we provide our digital assets to our customers.
Cost is a bit of a hindrance - but not certainly enough of one to cause us to look elsewhere. I think the ability for collaboration overrides this con, but it is pricey.
Resource Space is a robust warehouse platform with useful features. The ability to customize your account is great and its easy to have outside photographers upload and tag directly to the system.
I find that my colleagues inexperienced with image searches struggle with the usability.
I love that I can quickly find the assets that I need and that I can file robust caption and other detailed information with images.
Development happens without consultation, and the recent introduction of the new 'selection' option has caused me several problems in adding an extra stage in my work process.
The Montala support team has been amazing - super-fast response time, despite being on different continents. Every rep I've had contact with has been helpful, respectful, and patient.
There is no documentation that explains the underlying technological concepts.
How flexible it is and how easy it is to have custom needs built into the system. The ability to create multiple user groups and give access to certain users for certain things.
Was hard to search for photos. We also didn't have the staff to keep the software upgraded or maintained.
Zach Y.: Hi, my name is Zach. I am the creative director of my company. I would give MediaValet a three out of five stars. And for more reviews like this, click the link below. Before using MediaValet, we were using just a run of the mill FTP server. It was a bit clunky. Sometimes it wouldn't connect right. It was hard to have communication that was consistent back and forth with the client, and sometimes there would just be a lot more effort just to send them a file. So moving to MediaValet, it seemed like it was going to be a lot more streamlined. MediaValet allowed it a much more branded portal. It was really easy to show off our own brand and the brand of our clients within the portal itself. It didn't just look like a bunch of command prompt texts, like the FTP site. And then in addition to that, there was things like password protection links, and all right, here's an expiration date for this file so that you only have access for this amount of time. So there was just a lot more customization options available. MediaValet was fairly simple to get started with. You get your own login, access password, et cetera. I wish there was a little bit more options for setting up other members of your team, rather than just having to have a corporate login. But beyond that, it was fairly easy. So if you're looking to get MediaValet, it offers a great branded portal when you're uploading a lot of files to one central space. One thing to look out for is that if you are inviting an outside collaborator, someone who isn't part of your organization, sometimes there can be some bugs when they are trying to upload files. Sometimes it can take three, four or five times to actually get it to come through. But for internal stuff, it works great.
