Development teams at startups and small businesses to Fortune 50 companies use GitHub, every step of the way.
Houzz Pro serves professionals in the home remodeling & renovation industry: General Contractors, Interior Designers, Architects, Kitchen & Bath Remodelers, Home Builders, Design-Build firms, & more.
I love that the developers release their projects on there to share with the world. It is really cost efficient for people who don’t have much money to spend but need good quality software.
Sometimes when there is a long pull request it can be quite tedious to look over and see recent changes. Also bad merge operations can cause a world of trouble that is difficult to reverse.
GitHub has great documentation available, it is a great tool for code collaboration and remote collaboration, and provides a nice and simple way to have code and version history available online.
The cons of this is that there is no certainty that each development works well or that it has a bug that may generate a problem or error.
I like how it's easy to use and intuitive, but also offers enough customization for when we need it. I would recommend this to anyone in the market for a good version control software.
The search function is quite often bad. Also a dark mode is missing.
Community is super friendly and it’s a great platform to work on certain coding activities with a group of people.
It also sadly has no mobile app/mobile support at all.
Very well designed online platform that is reliable, fun, interactive, affordable and of high quality.
Throwing their hands in the air and pointing to the policy as though they are powerless to do anything is extremely disappointing.
Now that they have added video it gives them even more of an edge. I love all of the features and the fact that you can create content within Houzz is amazing.
Should I not mention working within their budget. I am getting all the cheapskates it seems! i understand people are worried; so am I.
The features are so specifically tailored to designers and how a design firm functions - it's wonderful. I love the ability to customize shared features with clients and the rest of my team too.
The answer from Houzz on this problem is the old school mentality of relentless calling of the lead.
Houzz is great for connecting me and potential clients. A great platform for me to show my services in a space where it will reach more people then a website.
I don't like the fact we don't receive enough matches, wrong match or no response back after we respond.
Sebastian B.: I'm Sebastian. I'm the CEO of Toyoko, and I give GitHub five out of five. I've been using SPN and so forth. They were good products, but they were centralized. That's why I switched to GitHub. I started using GitHub because everybody was doing, so I started to check it, and then I saw that it was better, especially from SPN, because I noticed a more distributed workflow. Starting with GitHub was not easy at the beginning, but now when I add somebody to the team to use GitHub, it's way easier because it improved a lot related with tutorial and documentation. So if I have to start from scratch now with GitHub, it would be easy for me. I think that GitHub nowadays is the default software for sharing and building applications. So there's not much to choose, only GitHub and GitLab, and I think that GitHub has way more features, and GitHub is the place where most people will look for your software.
Chris P.: Hi, I'm Chris. I'm the owner of Modified Kitchen and Bath. I rate Houzz Pro five out of five. So previously, I've used a software called CostCertified, which was good but it wasn't full-featured like the Houzz Pro. Houzz Pro has quite a few options. It has a lot of different segments to it so you're checking a lot of boxes. The reason we chose Houzz Pro was first of all was the cost. Second of all, it allowed us to have a built-in website right on the Houzz Pro setup. It also gave us the opportunity to estimate right from their system, and just was very full-featured for what we were paying. I would say it was very easy to get started with Houzz Pro. Once he got signed up, they made it extremely simple. And even putting the website together, it was probably the easiest I've ever worked on. My recommendation would be Houzz Pro would be a great solution if you're a small to medium-sized company and you're looking for an all-in-one feature set that also includes the ability to manage your website and do your estimates all in one system.
Prioritize real-user-identified key features according to your needs to find your best fit.
