We have been using WordPress for many years on a number of different websites and have always found it intuitive and easy to use. There is always so much that you can do by using extra plugins, and even with the default editors, it allows for flexibility with any website.

Pros

WordPress is a great, flexible software that allows for websites to be customised to suit your needs. You can use plugins to make a website fit to any business, and there is so much that can be done with the tools that are available. The CMS is also easy to pick up and use, and we have had new starters be able to edit and amend websites quickly with little prior knowledge.

Cons

The editor is great to use for most amendments, such as text changes, but it would be great if there were even more tools added to allow for more flexibility with design.

Pros

Overall, WordPress is still a solid and reliable product. It offers strong customization options, but the user experience could be more streamlined and modern.

Pros

WordPress offers a lot of flexibility and customization, making it capable of building a site that fits your specific needs.

Cons

Wordpress can feel clunky and a bit behind the times, especially compared to more modern website builders. They haven't adapted as quickly as their competitors

its my go to web install for anything, single page, web shops, even digital displays. There is nothing you cant do

Pros

Wordpress is so versatile, its great value for money and really easy to use. Once its setup you can easily create pages, lots of layout options, themes and templates

Cons

The biggest issue for us are the security updates. You always have to be running updated installs to keep your site secure and dealing with the add-ons is a pain

My client asked me to use Wordpress for their website and online store and it was an adventure. I usually use php, css, html to create sections and craft a beautiful website. But this time I used Wordpress with other plugins and it saved me a lot of time because their visual layout was nice. Click and drop. The main learning curve was finding where to add these code snippets or personalized css. But there’s a lot of information and tutorials so was quite easy.

Pros

I like how easy is and also is well integrated with other tools. Even if you don’t know how to code, you can built a website for free. The mobile experience is also nice. Their plugin library is amazing.

Cons

It could be quite confusing for a programmer because I couldn’t find the settings I wanted to change. With codes is easier.

My overall experience with WordPress has been very positive. It has proven to be a reliable and flexible platform that consistently meets the needs of a wide range of projects. From simple websites to more advanced builds, it provides the tools and scalability needed to grow without major limitations. It is also the core web product we rely on, because it offers strong control over design, functionality, and performance. With the right setup, it delivers a solid balance of ease of use and powerful customization, making it a dependable foundation for both clients and long term development.

Pros

What I like most about WordPress is its flexibility. It can power everything from a simple blog to a full scale business site without locking you into one approach. The plugin ecosystem is a major advantage, there is almost always a tool available for any feature you need. It also balances ease of use with advanced customization. Beginners can launch a site quickly, while more experienced users can modify nearly every aspect. Having full control over content, hosting, and SEO is another strong benefit compared to more restrictive platforms.

Cons

What I liked least about WordPress is that it can become overly complex as a site grows. Managing plugins, updates, and compatibility issues can take time, and things can break if updates are not handled carefully. Security is another concern, since its popularity makes it a frequent target for attacks, requiring ongoing maintenance and monitoring. Performance can also suffer if the site is not properly optimized, especially when too many plugins are used.

Alternatives considered

[Joomla](https://www.capterra.com/p/161648/Joomla/)

Reasons for choosing WordPress

WordPress offered a more intuitive experience and a larger ecosystem compared to Joomla. It is easier to manage on a day to day basis, especially for content updates and client handoff. The availability of plugins, themes, and developer resources is significantly stronger, which makes building and scaling sites more efficient. It also aligns better with our workflow and long term goals, allowing us to standardize it as our core web product. The flexibility, community support, and overall ease of customization made it the more practical choice.

We use Wordpress for all of our websites as they have a good light SEO friendly structure and easy to use dashboard.

Pros

Wordpress is probably one of the easiest website platforms to use. User friendly and has tons of great plugins to accommodate all types of services and functions.

I have been using WordPress to design and develop websites for my personal portfolio and business needs.

Pros

What I love about Wordpress is it's ability to help you integrate many available plugins to your website to make your site more rigid and offer more features to it. For eg: live chat plugins, woocommerce integrations, Paypal payments, etc. Everything at one place for you to use. The other reason I like WordPress is because it is absolutely FREE to use. There's a variety of free themes to choose from too. Absolutely, a WINNER!

Cons

I do not specifically have any complaints so far with WordPress. But, I wish it gave users more flexibility in terms of editing few stuffs without knowing the code. For eg, for some themes, if you want to get rid of their footer, you can't do it from the dashboard. Instead you would have to go to the CODE section is figure out the removal. For someone with a little bit of code knowledge, it's not a problem, but for a non-techy person, that's going to be a pain.
